¹In the tenth year, in the tenth [month], in the twelfth [day] of the month, the word of Jehovah came unto me, saying,

¹Pada tanggal dua belas bulan sepuluh, dalam tahun kesepuluh masa pembuangan kami, TUHAN berkata kepadaku,

²Son of man, set thy face against Pharaoh king of Egypt, and prophesy against him, and against all Egypt;

²"Hai manusia fana, kecamlah raja Mesir. Katakanlah kepadanya bahwa dia dan seluruh rakyat Mesir akan dihukum."

³speak, and say, Thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Behold, I am against thee, Pharaoh king of Egypt, the great monster that lieth in the midst of his rivers, that hath said, My river is mine own, and I have made it for myself.

³TUHAN Yang Mahatinggi menyuruh aku menyampaikan kepada raja Mesir pesan ini, "Aku ini musuhmu, hai buaya raksasa yang berbaring di tengah sungai. Engkau membual bahwa Sungai Nil adalah milikmu dan bahwa engkaulah yang membuatnya.

⁴And I will put hooks in thy jaws, and I will cause the fish of thy rivers to stick unto thy scales; and I will bring thee up out of the midst of thy rivers, with all the fish of thy rivers which stick unto thy scales.

⁴Aku akan memasang kaitan pada rahangmu dan melekatkan ikan-ikan pada sisikmu. Lalu engkau Kutarik keluar dari Sungai Nil dengan segala ikan yang melekat pada sisikmu itu.

⁵And I will cast thee forth into the wilderness, thee and all the fish of thy rivers: thou shalt fall upon the open field; thou shalt not be brought together, nor gathered; I have given thee for food to the beasts of the earth and to the birds of the heavens.

⁵Kemudian engkau dan segala ikan itu Kulemparkan ke padang pasir. Tubuhmu akan terhempas ke tanah dan terkapar di situ. Tak seorang pun akan mengubur engkau. Tubuhmu akan Kuberikan kepada burung-burung dan binatang-binatang lain untuk dimakan.

⁶And all the inhabitants of Egypt shall know that I am Jehovah, because they have been a staff of reed to the house of Israel.

⁶Maka tahulah seluruh rakyat Mesir bahwa Akulah TUHAN." TUHAN berkata, "Hai bangsa Mesir! Orang Israel mengharapkan bantuanmu, tetapi ternyata engkau hanya seperti tongkat yang lemah saja.

⁷When they took hold of thee by thy hand, thou didst break, and didst rend all their shoulders; and when they leaned upon thee, thou brakest, and madest all their loins to be at a stand.

⁷Ketika mereka bersandar padamu, engkau patah dan menusuk ketiak mereka, sehingga punggung mereka terkilir.

⁸Therefore thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Behold, I will bring a sword upon thee, and will cut off from thee man and beast.

⁸Oleh sebab itu Aku, TUHAN Yang Mahatinggi, mengatakan kepadamu, bahwa Aku akan mengirim tentara yang akan menyerang engkau dengan pedang, dan membunuh penduduk serta ternakmu.

⁹And the land of Egypt shall be a desolation and a waste; and they shall know that I am Jehovah. Because he hath said, The river is mine, and I have made it;

⁹Mesir akan menjadi tanah yang sunyi sepi. Maka tahulah kamu bahwa Akulah TUHAN." TUHAN berkata, "Hai raja Mesir! Karena engkau mengatakan bahwa Sungai Nil adalah milikmu dan bahwa engkaulah yang membuatnya,

¹⁰therefore, behold, I am against thee, and against thy rivers, and I will make the land of Egypt an utter waste and desolation, from the tower of Seveneh even unto the border of Ethiopia.

¹⁰maka Aku menjadi musuhmu, dan musuh Sungai Nilmu. Seluruh Mesir akan Kujadikan tanah yang sunyi sepi mulai dari kota Migdol di utara sampai ke kota Aswan di selatan, hingga perbatasan Sudan.

¹¹No foot of man shall pass through it, nor foot of beast shall pass through it, neither shall it be inhabited forty years.

¹¹Tak ada manusia atau binatang yang akan melaluinya. Selama empat puluh tahun tak akan ada orang yang mendiaminya.

¹²And I will make the land of Egypt a desolation in the midst of the countries that are desolate; and her cities among the cities that are laid waste shall be a desolation forty years; and I will scatter the Egyptians among the nations, and will disperse them through the countries.

¹²Aku akan membuat Mesir sunyi sepi sehingga di antara negeri-negeri sepi lainnya, Mesirlah yang paling sepi. Selama empat puluh tahun kota-kota di Mesir akan merupakan puing-puing yang jauh lebih parah daripada puing-puing kota mana pun juga. Bangsa Mesir akan Kujadikan pengungsi-pengungsi. Mereka akan tersebar ke segala negeri dan tinggal di tengah-tengah bangsa lain."

¹³For thus saith the Lord Jehovah: At the end of forty years will I gather the Egyptians from the peoples whither they were scattered;

¹³TUHAN Yang Mahatinggi berkata, "Hai bangsa Mesir, sehabis empat puluh tahun itu, kamu akan Kubawa kembali dari negeri-negeri di tempat kamu telah tersebar.

¹⁴and I will bring back the captivity of Egypt, and will cause them to return into the land of Pathros, into the land of their birth; and they shall be there a base kingdom.

¹⁴Kamu akan Kupulihkan dan Kusuruh tinggal di Mesir bagian selatan, tanah asalmu. Di sana kamu akan membentuk kerajaan yang lemah,

¹⁵It shall be the basest of the kingdoms; neither shall it any more lift itself up above the nations: and I will diminish them, that they shall no more rule over the nations.

¹⁵yang paling lemah di seluruh dunia. Aku akan membuat kamu sangat lemah sehingga kamu tak akan dapat memerintah bangsa-bangsa lain ataupun menyombongkan diri terhadap mereka.

¹⁶And it shall be no more the confidence of the house of Israel, bringing iniquity to remembrance, when they turn to look after them: and they shall know that I am the Lord Jehovah.

¹⁶Israel tidak lagi akan meminta bantuan kepadamu. Nasibmu hai bangsa Mesir akan mengingatkan Israel betapa kelirunya mengandalkan Mesir, seperti yang pernah dilakukannya. Maka tahulah Israel bahwa Akulah TUHAN Yang Mahatinggi."

¹⁷And it came to pass in the seven and twentieth year, in the first [month], in the first [day] of the month, the word of Jehovah came unto me, saying,

¹⁷Pada tanggal satu bulan satu dalam tahun kedua puluh tujuh masa pembuangan kami, TUHAN berkata kepadaku,

¹⁸Son of man, Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon caused his army to serve a great service against Tyre: every head was made bald, and every shoulder was worn; yet had he no wages, nor his army, from Tyre, for the service that he had served against it.

¹⁸"Hai manusia fana, Raja Nebukadnezar dari Babel melancarkan serangan terhadap Tirus. Ia menyuruh prajurit-prajurit memikul beban-beban yang begitu berat, sehingga kepala mereka menjadi botak dan bahu mereka lecet, tetapi baik raja maupun tentaranya tidak mendapat hasil apa pun dengan jerih payah itu.

¹⁹Therefore thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Behold, I will give the land of Egypt unto Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon; and he shall carry off her multitude, and take her spoil, and take her prey; and it shall be the wages for his army.

¹⁹Sebab itu, Aku TUHAN Yang Mahatinggi berkata: Tanah Mesir akan Kuberikan kepada Raja Nebukadnezar. Ia akan merampok dan merampas serta mengangkut semua kekayaan Mesir sebagai upah bagi tentaranya.

²⁰I have given him the land of Egypt as his recompense for which he served, because they wrought for me, saith the Lord Jehovah.

²⁰Tanah Mesir Kuberikan kepadanya sebagai imbalan jasa-jasanya, sebab tentaranya telah bekerja untuk-Ku. Aku, TUHAN Yang Mahatinggi telah berbicara.

²¹In that day will I cause a horn to bud forth unto the house of Israel, and I will give thee the opening of the mouth in the midst of them; and they shall know that I am Jehovah.

²¹Bilamana hal itu terjadi, Aku akan menjadikan Israel bangsa yang kuat, dan memungkinkan engkau Yehezkiel, berbicara dengan bebas sehingga semua orang dapat mendengar engkau. Maka tahulah mereka bahwa Akulah TUHAN."
