¹And I said, Hear, I pray you, ye heads of Jacob, and rulers of the house of Israel: is it not for you to know justice?

¹Dengarlah, hai kamu penguasa-penguasa Israel! Seharusnya kamu tahu apa yang adil,

²ye who hate the good, and love the evil; who pluck off their skin from off them, and their flesh from off their bones;

²tapi kamu malah membenci yang baik, dan senang akan yang jahat. Bangsaku kamu kuliti hidup-hidup, dan kamu cabik dagingnya dari tulang-tulangnya.

³who also eat the flesh of my people, and flay their skin from off them, and break their bones, and chop them in pieces, as for the pot, and as flesh within the caldron.

³Kamu makan bangsaku. Kulitnya kamu sobek-sobek dan tulang-tulangnya kamu hancurkan. Kamu memotong-motong mereka seperti memotong daging untuk dimasukkan ke dalam belanga.

⁴Then shall they cry unto Jehovah, but he will not answer them; yea, he will hide his face from them at that time, according as they have wrought evil in their doings.

⁴Akan tiba waktunya kamu berteriak minta tolong kepada TUHAN, tapi Ia tidak mau menjawab. Ia tidak akan mendengarkan doa-doamu, karena kamu telah melakukan yang jahat.

⁵Thus saith Jehovah concerning the prophets that make my people to err; that bite with their teeth, and cry, Peace; and whoso putteth not into their mouths, they even prepare war against him:

⁵Bangsaku ditipu oleh nabi-nabi yang meramalkan yang baik kepada orang yang memberi uang, tapi memusuhi dan meremehkan orang yang tidak memberi. Kepada nabi-nabi yang demikian, TUHAN berkata,

⁶Therefore it shall be night unto you, that ye shall have no vision; and it shall be dark unto you, that ye shall not divine; and the sun shall go down upon the prophets, and the day shall be black over them.

⁶"Hai nabi, waktumu sudah hampir habis; mataharimu sedang terbenam. Kamu tak akan lagi mendapat penglihatan yang menyatakan rencana-rencana-Ku. Kamu tak akan lagi dapat meramalkan apa-apa."

⁷And the seers shall be put to shame, and the diviners confounded; yea, they shall all cover their lips; for there is no answer of God.

⁷Orang-orang yang meramalkan hari depan akan mendapat malu karena ramalannya meleset. Mereka semua kehilangan muka karena Allah tidak menjawab mereka.

⁸But as for me, I am full of power by the Spirit of Jehovah, and of judgment, and of might, to declare unto Jacob his transgression, and to Israel his sin.

⁸Tapi mengenai diriku ini, TUHAN telah mengisi aku dengan roh-Nya dan kuasa-Nya. Aku diberi-Nya pengertian tentang keadilan, dan juga keberanian untuk menyatakan kepada orang Israel dosa-dosa yang telah dilakukannya.

⁹Hear this, I pray you, ye heads of the house of Jacob, and rulers of the house of Israel, that abhor justice, and pervert all equity.

⁹Dengarlah kata-kataku ini, hai kamu penguasa Israel yang membenci keadilan dan memutarbalikkan kebenaran.

¹⁰They build up Zion with blood, and Jerusalem with iniquity.

¹⁰Kamu membangun Yerusalem, kota Allah, berdasarkan pembunuhan dan ketidakadilan.

¹¹The heads thereof judge for reward, and the priests thereof teach for hire, and the prophets thereof divine for money: yet they lean upon Jehovah, and say, Is not Jehovah in the midst of us? no evil shall come upon us.

¹¹Penguasa-penguasa kota memerintah untuk mendapat uang suap, imam-imam mengajar hukum TUHAN untuk gaji, dan nabi-nabi meminta petunjuk dari Allah untuk mendapat uang--lalu mereka semua mengira TUHAN ada di pihak mereka. Mereka berkata, "TUHAN ada di tengah-tengah kita; kita tak akan ditimpa malapetaka."

¹²Therefore shall Zion for your sake be plowed as a field, and Jerusalem shall become heaps, and the mountain of the house as the high places of a forest.

¹²Karena kejahatanmu itu, Sion akan dibajak seperti ladang, Yerusalem akan menjadi timbunan puing, dan bukit Rumah TUHAN akan menjadi hutan belukar.
