1O Jehovah, thou God to whom vengeance belongeth, Thou God to whom vengeance belongeth, shine forth.
1Ya Allah, Engkaulah Allah yang membalas, tunjukkanlah pembalasan-Mu, ya TUHAN.
2Lift up thyself, thou judge of the earth: Render to the proud [their] desert.
2Bangkitlah, ya Hakim seluruh bumi, hukumlah orang congkak setimpal perbuatan mereka.
3Jehovah, how long shall the wicked, How long shall the wicked triumph?
3Ya TUHAN, sampai kapan orang jahat bergembira? Sampai kapan, ya TUHAN?
4They prate, they speak arrogantly: All the workers of iniquity boast themselves.
4Mereka melontarkan kata-kata yang kasar, dan menyombongkan kejahatan mereka.
5They break in pieces thy people, O Jehovah, And afflict thy heritage.
5Mereka menindas umat-Mu, ya TUHAN, dan meremukkan orang-orang pilihan-Mu.
6They slay the widow and the sojourner, And murder the fatherless.
6Mereka membunuh janda dan yatim piatu dan orang asing yang tinggal di negeri ini.
7And they say, Jehovah will not see, Neither will the God of Jacob consider.
7Kata mereka, "TUHAN tidak melihatnya, Allah Yakub tidak memperhatikannya."
8Consider, ye brutish among the people; And ye fools, when will ye be wise?
8Hai bangsaku, janganlah sebodoh itu, belajarlah memakai akalmu!
9He that planted the ear, shall he not hear? He that formed the eye, shall he not see?
9Allah yang membuat telinga, apakah Ia tidak mendengar? Dia yang membuat mata, apakah Ia tidak melihat?
10He that chastiseth the nations, shall not he correct, [Even] he that teacheth man knowledge?
10Dia yang mengajar bangsa-bangsa, apakah Ia tidak menghukum? Dia yang menjadi guru semua orang, apakah Ia tidak mempunyai pengetahuan?
11Jehovah knoweth the thoughts of man, That they are vanity.
11TUHAN menyelami pikiran manusia, Ia tahu semuanya sia-sia belaka.
12Blessed is the man whom thou chastenest, O Jehovah, And teachest out of thy law;
12Berbahagialah orang yang Kaudidik, ya TUHAN, orang yang Kauajari hukum-hukum-Mu.
13That thou mayest give him rest from the days of adversity, Until the pit be digged for the wicked.
13Kautenangkan dia di hari-hari malapetaka, sampai digali lubang untuk menangkap orang jahat.
14For Jehovah will not cast off his people, Neither will he forsake his inheritance.
14Sebab TUHAN tak akan meninggalkan umat-Nya; Ia tak akan mengabaikan milik pusaka-Nya.
15For judgment shall return unto righteousness; And all the upright in heart shall follow it.
15Maka hukum akan ditegakkan lagi di pengadilan, semua orang jujur akan mendukungnya.
16Who will rise up for me against the evil-doers? Who will stand up for me against the workers of iniquity?
16Siapa membela aku terhadap orang durhaka? Siapa memihak aku melawan orang yang berbuat jahat?
17Unless Jehovah had been my help, My soul had soon dwelt in silence.
17Sekiranya TUHAN tidak menolong aku, aku nyaris pindah ke dunia orang mati.
18When I said, My foot slippeth; Thy lovingkindness, O Jehovah, held me up.
18Waktu aku berpikir bahwa aku akan jatuh, kasih-Mu, TUHAN, membuat aku berdiri kukuh.
19In the multitude of my thoughts within me Thy comforts delight my soul.
19Apabila hatiku cemas dan gelisah, Engkau menghibur dan menggembirakan aku.
20Shall the throne of wickedness have fellowship with thee, Which frameth mischief by statute?
20Engkau tidak bersekutu dengan hakim-hakim jahat, yang merancangkan kejahatan berdasarkan hukum.
21They gather themselves together against the soul of the righteous, And condemn the innocent blood.
21Mereka bersekongkol melawan orang jujur, dan menghukum mati orang yang tak bersalah.
22But Jehovah hath been my high tower, And my God the rock of my refuge.
22Tetapi TUHAN adalah pembelaku, Allahku menjadi pelindungku.
23And he hath brought upon them their own iniquity, And will cut them off in their own wickedness; Jehovah our God will cut them off.
23Ia menghukum orang jahat setimpal kejahatannya, dan membungkamkan mereka karena dosanya. TUHAN Allah kita akan membungkamkan mereka.
