¹The Spirit of the Lord Jehovah is upon me; because Jehovah hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the broken-hearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening [of the prison] to them that are bound;

¹主なる神の霊がわたしに臨んだ。これは主がわたしに油を注いで、貧しい者に福音を宣べ伝えることをゆだね、わたしをつかわして心のいためる者をいやし、捕われ人に放免を告げ、縛られている者に解放を告げ、

²to proclaim the year of Jehovah's favor, and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all that mourn;

²主の恵みの年とわれわれの神の報復の日とを告げさせ、また、すべての悲しむ者を慰め、

³to appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, to give unto them a garland for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they may be called trees of righteousness, the planting of Jehovah, that he may be glorified.

³シオンの中の悲しむ者に喜びを与え、灰にかえて冠を与え、悲しみにかえて喜びの油を与え、憂いの心にかえて、さんびの衣を与えさせるためである。こうして、彼らは義のかしの木ととなえられ、主がその栄光をあらわすために植えられた者ととなえられる。

⁴And they shall build the old wastes, they shall raise up the former desolations, and they shall repair the waste cities, the desolations of many generations.

⁴彼らはいにしえの荒れた所を建てなおし、さきに荒れすたれた所を興し、荒れた町々を新たにし、世々すたれた所を再び建てる。

⁵And strangers shall stand and feed your flocks, and foreigners shall be your plowmen and your vine-dressers.

⁵外国人は立ってあなたがたの群れを飼い、異邦人はあなたがたの畑を耕す者となり、ぶどうを作る者となる。

⁶But ye shall be named the priests of Jehovah; men shall call you the ministers of our God: ye shall eat the wealth of the nations, and in their glory shall ye boast yourselves.

⁶しかし、あなたがたは主の祭司ととなえられ、われわれの神の役者と呼ばれ、もろもろの国の富を食べ、彼らの宝を得て喜ぶ。

⁷Instead of your shame [ye shall have] double; and instead of dishonor they shall rejoice in their portion: therefore in their land they shall possess double; everlasting joy shall be unto them.

⁷あなたがたは、さきに受けた恥にかえて、二倍の賜物を受け、はずかしめにかえて、その嗣業を得て楽しむ。それゆえ、あなたがたはその地にあって、二倍の賜物を獲、とこしえの喜びを得る。

⁸For I, Jehovah, love justice, I hate robbery with iniquity; and I will give them their recompense in truth, and I will make an everlasting covenant with them.

⁸主なるわたしは公平を愛し、強奪と邪悪を憎み、真実をもって彼らに報いを与え、彼らと、とこしえの契約を結ぶからである。

⁹And their seed shall be known among the nations, and their offspring among the peoples; all that see them shall acknowledge them, that they are the seed which Jehovah hath blessed.

⁹彼らの子孫は、もろもろの国の中で知られ、彼らの子らは、もろもろの民の中に知られる。すべてこれを見る者はこれが主の祝福された民であることを認める。

¹⁰I will greatly rejoice in Jehovah, my soul shall be joyful in my God; for he hath clothed me with the garments of salvation, he hath covered me with the robe of righteousness, as a bridegroom decketh himself with a garland, and as a bride adorneth herself with her jewels.

¹⁰わたしは主を大いに喜び、わが魂はわが神を楽しむ。主がわたしに救の衣を着せ、義の上衣をまとわせて、花婿が冠をいただき、花嫁が宝玉をもって飾るようにされたからである。地が芽をいだし、園がまいたものを生やすように、主なる神は義と誉とを、もろもろの国の前に、生やされる。

¹¹For as the earth bringeth forth its bud, and as the garden causeth the things that are sown in it to spring forth; so the Lord Jehovah will cause righteousness and praise to spring forth before all the nations.

¹¹地が芽をいだし、園がまいたものを生やすように、主なる神は義と誉とを、もろもろの国の前に、生やされる。
