1And as he went forth out of the temple, one of his disciples saith unto him, Teacher, behold, what manner of stones and what manner of buildings!
1イエスが宮から出て行かれるとき、弟子のひとりが言った、「先生、ごらんなさい。なんという見事な石、なんという立派な建物でしょう」。
2And Jesus said unto him, Seest thou these great buildings? there shall not be left here one stone upon another, which shall not be thrown down.
2イエスは言われた、「あなたは、これらの大きな建物をながめているのか。その石一つでもくずされないままで、他の石の上に残ることもなくなるであろう」。
3And as he sat on the mount of Olives over against the temple, Peter and James and John and Andrew asked him privately,
3またオリブ山で、宮にむかってすわっておられると、ペテロ、ヤコブ、ヨハネ、アンデレが、ひそかにお尋ねした。
4Tell us, when shall these things be? and what [shall be] the sign when these things are all about to be accomplished?
4「わたしたちにお話しください。いつ、そんなことが起るのでしょうか。またそんなことがことごとく成就するような場合には、どんな前兆がありますか」。
5And Jesus began to say unto them, Take heed that no man lead you astray.
5そこで、イエスは話しはじめられた、「人に惑わされないように気をつけなさい。
6Many shall come in my name, saying, I am [he]; and shall lead many astray.
6多くの者がわたしの名を名のって現れ、自分がそれだと言って、多くの人を惑わすであろう。
7And when ye shall hear of wars and rumors of wars, be not troubled: [these things] must needs come to pass; but the end is not yet.
7また、戦争と戦争のうわさとを聞くときにも、あわてるな。それは起らねばならないが、まだ終りではない。
8For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom; there shall be earthquakes in divers places; there shall be famines: these things are the beginning of travail.
8民は民に、国は国に敵対して立ち上がるであろう。またあちこちに地震があり、またききんが起るであろう。これらは産みの苦しみの初めである。
9But take ye heed to yourselves: for they shall deliver you up to councils; and in synagogues shall ye be beaten; and before governors and kings shall ye stand for my sake, for a testimony unto them.
9あなたがたは自分で気をつけていなさい。あなたがたは、わたしのために、衆議所に引きわたされ、会堂で打たれ、長官たちや王たちの前に立たされ、彼らに対してあかしをさせられるであろう。
10And the gospel must first be preached unto all the nations.
10こうして、福音はまずすべての民に宣べ伝えられねばならない。
11And when they lead you [to judgment], and deliver you up, be not anxious beforehand what ye shall speak: but whatsoever shall be given you in that hour, that speak ye; for it is not ye that speak, but the Holy Spirit.
11そして、人々があなたがたを連れて行って引きわたすとき、何を言おうかと、前もって心配するな。その場合、自分に示されることを語るがよい。語る者はあなたがた自身ではなくて、聖霊である。
12And brother shall deliver up brother to death, and the father his child; and children shall rise up against parents, and cause them to be put to death.
12また兄弟は兄弟を、父は子を殺すために渡し、子は両親に逆らって立ち、彼らを殺させるであろう。
13And ye shall be hated of all men for my name's sake: but he that endureth to the end, the same shall be saved.
13また、あなたがたはわたしの名のゆえに、すべての人に憎まれるであろう。しかし、最後まで耐え忍ぶ者は救われる。
14But when ye see the abomination of desolation standing where he ought not (let him that readeth understand), then let them that are in Judaea flee unto the mountains:
14荒らす憎むべきものが、立ってはならぬ所に立つのを見たならば（読者よ、悟れ）、そのとき、ユダヤにいる人々は山へ逃げよ。
15and let him that is on the housetop not go down, nor enter in, to take anything out his house:
15屋上にいる者は、下におりるな。また家から物を取り出そうとして内にはいるな。
16and let him that is in the field not return back to take his cloak.
16畑にいる者は、上着を取りにあとへもどるな。
17But woe unto them that are with child and to them that give suck in those days!
17その日には、身重の女と乳飲み子をもつ女とは、不幸である。
18And pray ye that it be not in the winter.
18この事が冬おこらぬように祈れ。
19For those days shall be tribulation, such as there hath not been the like from the beginning of the creation which God created until now, and never shall be.
19その日には、神が万物を造られた創造の初めから現在に至るまで、かつてなく今後もないような患難が起るからである。
20And except the Lord had shortened the days, no flesh would have been saved; but for the elect's sake, whom he chose, he shortened the days.
20もし主がその期間を縮めてくださらないなら、救われる者はひとりもないであろう。しかし、選ばれた選民のために、その期間を縮めてくださったのである。
21And then if any man shall say unto you, Lo, here is the Christ; or, Lo, there; believe [it] not:
21そのとき、だれかがあなたがたに『見よ、ここにキリストがいる』、『見よ、あそこにいる』と言っても、それを信じるな。
22for there shall arise false Christs and false prophets, and shall show signs and wonders, that they may lead astray, if possible, the elect.
22にせキリストたちや、にせ預言者たちが起って、しるしと奇跡とを行い、できれば、選民をも惑わそうとするであろう。
23But take ye heed: behold, I have told you all things beforehand.
23だから、気をつけていなさい。いっさいの事を、あなたがたに前もって言っておく。
24But in those days, after that tribulation, the sun shall be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light,
24その日には、この患難の後、日は暗くなり、月はその光を放つことをやめ、
25and the stars shall be falling from heaven, and the powers that are in the heavens shall be shaken.
25星は空から落ち、天体は揺り動かされるであろう。
26And then shall they see the Son of man coming in clouds with great power and glory.
26そのとき、大いなる力と栄光とをもって、人の子が雲に乗って来るのを、人々は見るであろう。
27And then shall he send forth the angels, and shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from the uttermost part of the earth to the uttermost part of heaven.
27そのとき、彼は御使たちをつかわして、地のはてから天のはてまで、四方からその選民を呼び集めるであろう。
28Now from the fig tree learn her parable: when her branch is now become tender, and putteth forth its leaves, ye know that the summer is nigh;
28いちじくの木からこの譬を学びなさい。その枝が柔らかになり、葉が出るようになると、夏の近いことがわかる。
29even so ye also, when ye see these things coming to pass, know ye that he is nigh, [even] at the doors.
29そのように、これらの事が起るのを見たならば、人の子が戸口まで近づいていると知りなさい。
30Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass away, until all these things be accomplished.
30よく聞いておきなさい。これらの事が、ことごとく起るまでは、この時代は滅びることがない。
31Heaven and earth shall pass away: but my words shall not pass away.
31天地は滅びるであろう。しかしわたしの言葉は滅びることがない。
32But of that day or that hour knoweth no one, not even the angels in heaven, neither the Son, but the Father.
32その日、その時は、だれも知らない。天にいる御使たちも、また子も知らない、ただ父だけが知っておられる。
33Take ye heed, watch and pray: for ye know not when the time is.
33気をつけて、目をさましていなさい。その時がいつであるか、あなたがたにはわからないからである。
34[It is] as [when] a man, sojourning in another country, having left his house, and given authority to his servants, to each one his work, commanded also the porter to watch.
34それはちょうど、旅に立つ人が家を出るに当り、その僕たちに、それぞれ仕事を割り当てて責任をもたせ、門番には目をさましておれと、命じるようなものである。
35Watch therefore: for ye know not when the lord of the house cometh, whether at even, or at midnight, or at cockcrowing, or in the morning;
35だから、目をさましていなさい。いつ、家の主人が帰って来るのか、夕方か、夜中か、にわとりの鳴くころか、明け方か、わからないからである。
36lest coming suddenly he find you sleeping.
36あるいは急に帰ってきて、あなたがたの眠っているところを見つけるかも知れない。目をさましていなさい。わたしがあなたがたに言うこの言葉は、すべての人々に言うのである」。
37And what I say unto you I say unto all, Watch.
37目をさましていなさい。わたしがあなたがたに言うこの言葉は、すべての人々に言うのである」。
