¹And I lifted up mine eyes, and saw, and, behold, a man with a measuring line in his hand.

¹またわたしが目をあげて見ていると、見よ、ひとりの人が、測りなわを手に持っているので、

²Then said I, Whither goest thou? And he said unto me, To measure Jerusalem, to see what is the breadth thereof, and what is the length thereof.

²「あなたはどこへ行くのですか」と尋ねると、その人はわたしに言った、「エルサレムを測って、その広さと、長さを見ようとするのです」。

³And, behold, the angel that talked with me went forth, and another angel went out to meet him,

⁴and said unto him, Run, speak to this young man, saying, Jerusalem shall be inhabited as villages without walls, by reason of the multitude of men and cattle therein.

⁴言った、「走って行って、あの若い人に言いなさい、『エルサレムはその中に、人と家畜が多くなるので、城壁のない村里のように、人の住む所となるでしょう。

⁵For I, saith Jehovah, will be unto her a wall of fire round about, and I will be the glory in the midst of her.

⁵主は仰せられます、わたしはその周囲で火の城壁となり、その中で栄光となる』と」。

⁶Ho, ho, flee from the land of the north, saith Jehovah; for I have spread you abroad as the four winds of the heavens, saith Jehovah.

⁶主は仰せられる、さあ、北の地から逃げて来なさい。わたしはあなたがたを、天の四方の風のように散らしたからである。

⁷Ho Zion, escape, thou that dwellest with the daughter of Babylon.

⁷さあ、バビロンの娘と共にいる者よ、シオンにのがれなさい。

⁸For thus saith Jehovah of hosts: After glory hath he sent me unto the nations which plundered you; for he that toucheth you toucheth the apple of his eye.

⁸あなたがたにさわる者は、彼の目の玉にさわるのであるから、あなたがたを捕えていった国々の民に、その栄光にしたがって、わたしをつかわされた万軍の主は、こう仰せられる、

⁹For, behold, I will shake my hand over them, and they shall be a spoil to those that served them; and ye shall know that Jehovah of hosts hath sent me.

⁹「見よ、わたしは彼らの上に手を振る。彼らは自分に仕えた者のとりことなる。その時あなたがたは万軍の主が、わたしをつかわされたことを知る。

¹⁰Sing and rejoice, O daughter of Zion; for, lo, I come, and I will dwell in the midst of thee, saith Jehovah.

¹⁰主は言われる、シオンの娘よ、喜び歌え。わたしが来て、あなたの中に住むからである。

¹¹And many nations shall join themselves to Jehovah in that day, and shall be my people; and I will dwell in the midst of thee, and thou shalt know that Jehovah of hosts has sent me unto thee.

¹¹その日には、多くの国民が主に連なって、わたしの民となる。わたしはあなたの中に住む。

¹²And Jehovah shall inherit Judah as his portion in the holy land, and shall yet choose Jerusalem.

¹²あなたは万軍の主が、わたしをあなたにつかわされたことを知る。主は聖地で、ユダを自分の分として取り、エルサレムを再び選ばれるであろう」。すべて肉なる者よ、主の前に静まれ。主はその聖なるすみかから立ちあがられたからである。

¹³Be silent, all flesh, before Jehovah; for he is waked up out of his holy habitation.
