¹For I would not, brethren, have you ignorant, that our fathers were all under the cloud, and all passed through the sea;

¹ညီအစ်ကိုတို့၊ ငါတို့ဘိုးဘေးအပေါင်းတို့သည် မိုဃ်းတိမ်အောက်မှာရှိ၍၊ ပင်လယ်အလယ်၌ ရှောက်သွား ကြသည်ဟူ၍၎င်း၊

²and were all baptized unto Moses in the cloud and in the sea;

²မိုဃ်းတိမ်နှင့်ပင်လယ်ထဲမှာ မောရှေ၌ ဗတ္တိဇံကို ခံကြသည် ဟူ၍၎င်း၊

³and did all eat the same spiritual food;

³ဓမ္မအစာကိုအတူစားကြသည်ဟူ၍၎င်း၊ ဓမ္မရေကို အတူသောက်ကြသည်ဟူ၍၎င်း၊ သင်တို့ မသိမမှတ် ဘဲနေစေခြင်းငှါ ငါအလိုမရှိ၊

⁴and did all drink the same spiritual drink: for they drank of a spiritual rock that followed them: and the rock was Christ.

⁴ထိုသူတို့နောက်၌ လိုက်သောဓမ္မကျောက်မှ ထွက်သောရေကို သောက်ကြ၏။ ထိုကျောက်ကား ခရစ် တော်ဖြစ်သတည်း။

⁵Howbeit with most of them God was not well pleased: for they were overthrown in the wilderness.

⁵သို့သော်လည်း ထိုသူတို့တွင် များစွာသော သူတို့ကို ဘုရားသခင်သည် အားရနှစ်သက်တော်မမူ။ သူတို့သည် တော၌သေကြေပျက်စီးခြင်းသို့ ရောက်ကြ၏။

⁶Now these things were our examples, to the intent we should not lust after evil things, as they also lusted.

⁶ထိုသူတို့သည် မကောင်းသောအရာတို့ကို တပ်မက်သကဲ့သို့ ငါတို့သည် မတပ်မက်စေခြင်းငှါ၊ ထိုအကြောင်းအရာတို့သည် ငါတို့အဘို့ ပုံသက်သေ ဖြစ်ကြ၏။

⁷Neither be ye idolaters, as were some of them; as it is written, The people sat down to eat and drink, and rose up to play.

⁷လူတို့သည် စားသောက်လျက် ထိုင်နေကြ၏။ နောက်တဖန် ကခုန်မြူးထူးခြင်းငှါ ထကြ၏ဟု ကျမ်းစာ လာသည်အတိုင်း၊

⁸Neither let us commit fornication, as some of them committed, and fell in one day three and twenty thousand.

⁸ထိုသူအချို့တို့သည် ရုပ်တုကို ကိုးကွယ်သကဲ့သို့ မကိုးကွယ်ကြနှင့်။ ထိုသူအချို့တို့သည် မတရားသော မေထုန်အမှုကိုပြု၍ တနေ့ခြင်းတွင် လူနှစ်သောင်း သုံးထောင်လဲ၍သေသကဲ့သို့ မပြုဘဲ၊ မတရားသော မေထုန်ကိုရှောင်ကြကုန်အံ့။

⁹Neither let us make trial of the Lord, as some of them made trial, and perished by the serpents.

⁹ထိုသူအချို့တို့သည် စုံစမ်းနှောင့်ရှက်ခြင်းကို ပြု၍၊ မြွေဖြင့် ပျက်စိးသကဲ့သို့ ငါတို့သည်မပြု၊ ခရစ်တော် ကို မစုံစမ်းမနှောင့်ရှက်ဘဲနေကြကုန်အံ့။

¹⁰Neither murmur ye, as some of them murmured, and perished by the destroyer.

¹⁰ထိုသူအချို့တို့သည် မြည်တမ်းခြင်းကိုပြု၍၊ ဖျက်ဆီးသောသူ၏ လက်ဖြင့် ပျက်စီးသကဲ့သို့မဟုတ်၊ မြည်တမ်းခြင်းကိုမပြုကြနှင့်။

¹¹Now these things happened unto them by way of example; and they were written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the ages are come.

¹¹ထိုအကြောင်းအရာရှိသမျှတို့သည် ပုံသက်သေ ဖြစ်အံ့သောငှါ ထိုသူတို့၌ ရောက်ကြ၏။ ကပ်ကာလ အဆုံးတွင် ဖြစ်သောငါတို့ကို ဆုံးမစရာဘို့ ကျမ်းစာ၌ ရေးထားလျက်ရှိသတည်း။

¹²Wherefore let him that thinketh he standeth take heed lest he fall.

¹²ထိုကြောင့် အကြင်သူသည် မိမိတည်ကြည် လျက်နေသည်ဟု မိမိထင်မှတ်၏။ ထိုသူသည် မလဲခြင်းငှါ သတိပြုစေ။

¹³There hath no temptation taken you but such as man can bear: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation make also the way of escape, that ye may be able to endure it.

¹³လူ၌ဖြစ်တတ်သော စုံစမ်းနှောင့်ရှက်ခြင်းကိုသာ သင်တို့သည် ခံရကြ၏။ ဘုရားသခင်သည် သစ္စာနှင့် ပြည့်စုံတော်မူသည်ဖြစ်၍၊ သင်တို့ မခံနိုင်သော စုံစမ်းနှောင့်ရှက်ခြင်းကို သင်တို့၌ ရောက်စိမ့်သောငှါ အခွင့်ပေး တော်မမူ။ သင်တို့သည် ခံနိုင်မည်အကြောင်း စုံစမ်းနှောင့်ရှက်ခြင်းအရာနှင့်တကွ၊ ထွက်မြောက်သော လမ်းကိုလည်း စီရင်ပြုပြင်တော်မူလိမ့်မည်။

¹⁴Wherefore, my beloved, flee from idolatry.

¹⁴ထိုကြောင့် ငါ့ချစ်သူတို့၊ ရုပ်တို့ကို ကိုးကွယ်ခြင်း အမှုကို ကြဉ်ရှောင်ကြလော့။

¹⁵I speak as to wise men; judge ye what I say.

¹⁵သင်တို့ကို ပညာရှိသကဲ့သို့မှတ်၍ ပြောမည်။ ငါ့စကားကို ဆင်ခြင်ကြလော့။

¹⁶The cup of blessing which we bless, is it not a communion of the blood of Christ? The bread which we break, is it not a communion of the body of Christ?

¹⁶ငါတို့သည် ကျေးဇူးတော်ကို ချီးမွမ်းရာ မင်္ဂလာခွက်ဖလားမူကား၊ ခရစ်တော်၏အသွေးကို ဆက်ဆံခြင်း ဖြစ်သည် မဟုတ်လော။ ငါတို့ဖဲ့သောမုန့်မူကား၊ ခရစ်တော်၏ ကိုယ်ကို ဆက်ဆံခြင်းဖြစ်သည် မဟုတ်လော။

¹⁷seeing that we, who are many, are one bread, one body: for we are all partake of the one bread.

¹⁷မုန့်တလုံးတည်းရှိသည်ဖြစ်၍၊ ငါတို့ရှိသမျှသည် တလုံးတည်း ဖြစ်သောထိုမုန့်ကို ဆက်ဆံလျက် ခံယူကြ သောကြောင့်၊ အများဖြစ်သော ငါတို့သည် တလုံးတကိုယ်တည်းဖြစ်ကြ၏။

¹⁸Behold Israel after the flesh: have not they that eat the sacrifices communion with the altar?

¹⁸ဇာတိအားဖြင့် ဣသရေလအမျိုးဖြစ်သော သူတို့ကို ကြည့်ရှုကြလော့။ ယဇ်ကောင်ကိုစားသော သူတို့သည် ယဇ်ပလ္လင်နှင့် ဆက်ဆံသောသူဖြစ်ကြသည် မဟုတ်လော။

¹⁹What say I then? that a thing sacrificed to idols is anything, or that an idol is anything?

¹⁹ထိုသို့ဆိုသော် အဘယ်သို့ ငါဆိုလိုသနည်း။ ရုပ်တုကား မှတ်စရာရှိသည်၊ ရုပ်တုရှေ့၌ ပူဇော်သော ယဇ်ကောင်ကား မှတ်စရာရှိသည်ဟု ဆိုလိုသလော။

²⁰But [I say], that the things which the Gentiles sacrifice, they sacrifice to demons, and not to God: and I would not that ye should have communion with demons.

²⁰ထိုသို့မဆိုလို။ သာသနာပလူတို့သည် ပူဇော်သောယဇ်ကို ဘုရားသခင်အား ပူဇော်ကြသည်မဟုတ်။ နတ်ဆိုးတို့အား ပူဇော်ကြ၏။ သင်တို့သည် နတ်ဆိုးတို့နှင့် ဆက်ဆံစေခြင်းငှါ ငါအလိုမရှိ။

²¹Ye cannot drink the cup of the Lord, and the cup of demons: ye cannot partake of the table of the Lord, and of the table of demons.

²¹သခင်ဘုရား၏ ခွက်ဖလား၊ နတ်ဆိုးတို့၏ ခွက်ဖလားနှစ်ပါးကို သင်တို့မသောက်နိုင်ကြ။ သခင်ဘုရား၏ စားပွဲ၊ နတ်ဆိုးတို့၏စားပွဲနှစ်ပါးကို သင်တို့ဝင်၍ မစားနိုင်ကြ။

²²Or do we provoke the Lord to jealousy? are we stronger than he?

²²သခင်ဘုရား အမျက်တော်ထွက်စေခြင်းငှါ ငါတို့ ပြုရကြသလော။ ငါတို့သည် သခင်ဘုရားထက်သာ၍ တန်ခိုးကြီးကြသလော။

²³All things are lawful; but not all things are expedient. All things are lawful; but not all things edify.

²³ငါသည် အပြစ်မသင့်ဘဲ ခပ်သိမ်းသော အမှုအရာကို ပြုနိုင်သည် မှန်စေတော့။ ခပ်သိမ်းသော အမှုအရာကို ပြုသင့်သည်မဟုတ်။ အပြစ်မသင့်ဘဲ ခပ်သိမ်းသောအမှုအရာကို ပြုနိုင်သည် မှန်စေတော့။ ခပ်သိမ်းသော အမှုအရာတို့သည် သူတပါးကို တည်ဆောက်တတ်သည်မဟုတ်။

²⁴Let no man seek his own, but [each] his neighbor's [good].

²⁴ကိုယ်အကျိုးကို အဘယ်သူမျှမရှာစေနှင့်။ သူ့အကျိုးကို လူတိုင်းရှာစေ။

²⁵Whatsoever is sold in the shambles, eat, asking no question for conscience' sake,

²⁵ဩတ္တပ္ပစိတ်ကို ထောက်ရသောကြောင့်၊ ဈေး၌ ရောင်းသမျှကို မစစ်ကြောမမေးမြန်းဘဲ စားကြလော့။

²⁶for the earth is the Lord's, and the fulness thereof.

²⁶အကြောင်းမူကား၊ ထာဝရဘုရားသည် မြေကြီး နှင့် မြေကြီးတန်ဆာကို ပိုင်တော်မူ၏။

²⁷If one of them that believe not biddeth you [to a feast], and ye are disposed to go; whatsoever is set before you, eat, asking no question for conscience' sake.

²⁷မယုံကြည်သောသူသည် သင်တို့ကိုခေါ်ဘိတ်၍ သင်တို့သည် သွားလိုလျှင်၊ ဩတ္တပ္ပစိတ်ကို ထောက်ရသောကြောင့်၊ သင်တို့ရှေ့၌ ထည့်သမျှကို မစစ်ကြော မမေးမြန်းဘဲ စားကြလော့။

²⁸But if any man say unto you, This hath been offered in sacrifice, eat not, for his sake that showed it, and for conscience sake:

²⁸သို့သော်လည်း ဤမည်သောအရာသည် ရုပ်တုရှေ့၌ ပူဇော်သော ယဇ်ကောင်ဖြစ်၏ဟု တစုံတယောက် သောသူဆိုလျှင်၊ ထိုသို့ဆိုသော သူ၏မျက်နှာကို၎င်း၊ ဩတ္တပ္ပစိတ်ကို၎င်း၊ ထောက်၍ မစားကြနှင့်။

²⁹conscience, I say, not thine own, but the other's; for why is my liberty judged by another conscience?

²⁹ဩတ္တပ္ပစိတ် ဟုဆိုသော် ကိုယ်စိတ်ကိုမဆိုလို၊ သူ့စိတ်ကို ဆိုလို၏။ အခြားသောသူ၏စိတ်သည် ငါ၏အခွင့်ကို အဘယ် ကြောင့် စစ်ကြောစီရင်ရမည်နည်း။

³⁰If I partake with thankfulness, why am I evil spoken of for that for which I give thanks?

³⁰ကျေးဇူးတော်အားဖြင့် ငါသုံးဆောင်ရလျှင်၊ ကျေးဇူးတော်ကို ချီးမွမ်း၍ သုံးဆောင်သည်တွင် အဘယ် ကြောင့် ကဲ့ရဲ့ပြစ်တင်ခြင်းကို ခံရမည်နည်းဟု ဆိုလျှင် မူကား၊

³¹Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God.

³¹သင်တို့သည်စားသော်၎င်း၊ သောက်သော်၎င်း၊ မည်သည့်အမှုကို ပြုသော်၎င်း၊ ဘုရားသခင်၏ ဘုန်းတော်ကို ထောက်၍ ခပ်သိမ်းသောအမှုကိစ္စကို ပြုကြလော့။

³²Give no occasions of stumbling, either to Jews, or to Greeks, or to the church of God:

³²လူများတို့သည် ကယ်တင်ခြင်းသို့ ရောက်စိမ့်သောငှါ၊ ငါသည် ကိုယ်အကျိုးကိုမရှာဘဲ သူ့အကျိုးကို ရှာ၍၊

³³even as I also please all men in all things, not seeking mine own profit, but the [profit] of the many, that they may be saved.

³³ခပ်သိမ်းသောလူတို့၏ အလိုသို့အရာရာ၌ လိုက်သည်နည်းတူ၊ သင်တို့သည်လည်း ယုဒလူ၊ ဟေလသ လူ၊ ဘုရားသခင်၏ အသင်းတော်ဝင်သူတို့၌ ထိမိ၍ လဲစရာ အကြောင်းကို မပြုဘဲ၊
