¹And the man knew Eve his wife; and she conceived, and bare Cain, and said, I have gotten a man with [the help of] Jehovah.

¹ထိုနောက်၊ လူအာဒံသည် မယားဧဝနှင့်ဆက်ဆံသဖြင့်၊ ဧဝသည် ပဋိသန္ဓေစွဲယူ၍၊ ကာဣနကို ဘွားမြင် လျှင်၊ ထာဝရဘုရား၏ လူကို ငါရပြီဟုဆိုလေ၏။

²And again she bare his brother Abel. And Abel was a keeper of sheep, but Cain was a tiller of the ground.

²တဖန်သူ့ညီ အာဗေလေကို ဘွားမြင်လေ၏။ အာဗေလကား သိုးထိန်းဖြစ်၏။ ကာဣနကားလယ်လုပ် သောသူဖြစ်၏။

³And in process of time it came to pass, that Cain brought of the fruit of the ground an offering unto Jehovah.

³အချိန်စေ့သောအခါ၊ ကာဣနသည် ထာဝရဘုရားထံ ပူဇော်သက္ကာဘို့၊ မြေအသီးကို ဆောင်ခဲ့၏။

⁴And Abel, he also brought of the firstlings of his flock and of the fat thereof. And Jehovah had respect unto Abel and to his offering:

⁴အာဗေလသည်လည်း မိမိသိုးစုတွင် အဦးဘွားသော သားအချို့နှင့်၊ သိုးဆီဥကိုဆောင်ခဲ့၏။ ထာဝရ ဘုရားသည် အာဗေလနှင့် သူ၏ပူဇော်သက္ကာကို ပမာဏ ပြုတော်မူ၏။

⁵but unto Cain and to his offering he had not respect. And Cain was very wroth, and his countenance fell.

⁵ကာဣနနှင့်သူ၏ ပူဇော်သက္ကာကို ပမာဏ ပြုတော်မမူ၊ ထိုကြောင့် ကာဣနသည် အလွန်စိတ်ဆိုး၍ မျက်နှာပျက်လေ၏။

⁶And Jehovah said unto Cain, Why art thou wroth? and why is thy countenance fallen?

⁶ထာဝရဘုရားကလည်း သင်သည် အဘယ်ကြောင့် စိတ်ဆိုးသနည်း။ အဘယ်ကြောင့် မျက်နှာပျက် သနည်း။

⁷If thou doest well, shall it not be lifted up? and if thou doest not well, sin coucheth at the door: and unto thee shall be its desire, but do thou rule over it.

⁷သင်သည် ကောင်းမွန်စွာ ပြုလုပ်အခွင့်မရလော။ ကောင်းမွန်စွာ မပြုလျှင်၊ အပြစ်ဖြေသော ယဇ် ကောင်သည်တံခါးနားမှာ ဝပ်လျက်ရှိ၏။ သူသည် သင်၏ အလိုသို့လိုက်၍၊ သင်သည် သူ့ကို အုပ်စိုးရ၏ဟု ကာဣနကိုမိန့်တော်မူ၏။

⁸And Cain told Abel his brother. And it came to pass, when they were in the field, that Cain rose up against Abel his brother, and slew him.

⁸ကာဣနကလည်း လယ်သို့ သွားကြကုန်အံ့ဟု ညီအာဗေလကိုခေါ်၍၊ လယ်သို့ရောက်သောအခါ၊ ညီ အာဗေလကိုရန်ဘက်ပြု၍ သတ်လေ၏။

⁹And Jehovah said unto Cain, Where is Abel thy brother? And he said, I know not: am I my brother's keeper?

⁹ထာဝရဘုရားကလည်း သင့်ညီ အာဗေလသည် အဘယ်မှာရှိသနည်းဟု ကာဣနကို မေးတော်မူလျှင် အကျွန်ုပ်မသိပါ။ အကျွန်ုပ်သည် ညီကို စောင့်ရသော သူဖြစ်ပါသလောဟု လျှောက်ဆို၏။

¹⁰And he said, What hast thou done? the voice of thy brother's blood crieth unto me from the ground.

¹⁰ဘုရားသခင်ကလည်း၊ သင်သည် အဘယ်သို့ ပြုပြီးသနည်း။ သင်ညီအသွေး၏အသံသည် မြေထဲက ငါ့ကို အော်ဟစ်လျက်ရှိသည်တကား။

¹¹And now cursed art thou from the ground, which hath opened its mouth to receive thy brother's blood from thy hand;

¹¹သို့ဖြစ်၍သင့်ညီ၏ အသွေးကို ခံယူခြင်းငှါ၊ မိမိပစပ်ကိုဖွင့်သော မြေကြီး၏ ကျိန်ခြင်းကို သင်သည် ခံရသောကြောင့်၊

¹²when thou tillest the ground, it shall not henceforth yield unto thee its strength; a fugitive and a wanderer shalt thou be in the earth.

¹²ယခုမှစ၍ မြေ၌လုပ်သောအခါ ပကတိအတိုင်း အသီးအနှံကို မရရ။ မြေကြီးပေါ်မှ ပြေးရသောသူ၊ အရပ်ရပ်လည်ရသောသူ ဖြစ်ရလိမ့်မည်ဟု မိန့်တော်မူ၏။

¹³And Cain said unto Jehovah, My punishment is greater than I can bear.

¹³ကာဣနကလည်း အကျွန်ုပ်အပြစ်သည် မဖြေနိုင်အောင် ကြီးပါသလော။

¹⁴Behold, thou hast driven me out this day from the face of the ground; and from thy face shall I be hid; and I shall be a fugitive and a wanderer in the earth; and it will come to pass, that whosoever findeth me will slay me.

¹⁴အကျွန်ုပ်ကို မြေကြီးပြင်မှ ယနေ့နှင်ထုတ်တော်မူပြီ၊ မျက်နှာတော်ကိုလည်း မမြင်ရ။ မြေကြီးပေါ်မှာ ပြေးရသောသူ၊ အရပ်ရပ်လည်ရသော သူဖြစ်ပါရမည်။ တွေ့သမျှသော သူတို့သည် အကျွန်ုပ်ကို သတ်ပါလိမ့်မည် ဟု ထာဝရဘုရားကို လျှောက်ဆို၏။

¹⁵And Jehovah said unto him, Therefore whosoever slayeth Cain, vengeance shall be taken on him sevenfold. And Jehovah appointed a sign for Cain, lest any finding him should smite him.

¹⁵ထာဝရဘုရားကလည်း သို့ဖြစ်၍ ကာဣနကို သတ်သောသူမည်သည်ကား၊ ခုနစ်ဆသောအပြစ်ဒဏ်ကို ခံရလိမ့်မည်ဟု မိန့်တော်မူပြီးလျှင်၊ ကာဣနကိုတွေ့သောသူ တစုံတယောက်မျှ မသတ်စေခြင်းငှါ၊ ထာဝရဘုရားသည် သူ၌ အမှတ်ပေးတော်မူ၏။

¹⁶And Cain went out from the presence of Jehovah, and dwelt in the land of Nod, on the east of Eden.

¹⁶ကာဣနသည် ထာဝရဘုရားထံတော်မှ ထွက်သွား၍၊ ဧဒင်ပြည် အရှေ့၊ နောဒပြည်တွင် နေလေ၏။

¹⁷And Cain knew his wife; and she conceived, and bare Enoch: and he builded a city, and called the name of the city, after the name of his son, Enoch.

¹⁷ထိုအခါကာဣနသည် မိမိမယားနှင့် ဆက်ဆံသဖြင့်၊ သူသည် ပဋိသန္ဓေစွဲယူ၍၊ သားဧနောက်ကို ဘွားမြင်လေ၏။ ကာဣနသည်လည်း မြို့ကိုတည်၍မိမိသား၏ အမည်အလိုက်၊ ထိုမြို့ကို ဧနောက်မြို့ဟု သမုတ်လေ၏။

¹⁸And unto Enoch was born Irad: and Irad begat Mehujael: and Mehujael begat Methushael; and Methushael begat Lamech.

¹⁸ဧနောက်သားကား၊ ဣရဒ်၊ ဣရဒ်သားကား၊ မဟုယေလ၊ မဟုယေလသားကား၊ မသုရှလ၊ မသုရှလ သားကား၊ လာမက်တည်း။

¹⁹And Lamech took unto him two wives: the name of the one was Adah, and the name of the other Zillah.

¹⁹လာမက်သည်၊ အာဒနှင့်ဇိလ အမည်ရှိသော မိန်းမနှစ်ယောက်နှင့် အိမ်ထောင်ဘက်ပြု၍၊

²⁰And Adah bare Jabal: he was the father of such as dwell in tents and [have] cattle.

²⁰အာဒသည် သားယာဗလကိုဘွားမြင်လေ၏။ ထိုသားကား၊ တဲ၌နေသောသူ၊ သိုးနွားစသည်တို့ကို မွေးသော သူတို့၏ အဘဆရာ ဖြစ်လေသတည်း။

²¹And his brother's name was Jubal: he was the father of all such as handle the harp and pipe.

²¹ယုဗလအမည်ရှိသော ညီမူကား၊ စောင်းမျိုး၊ နှဲခရာမျိုးတို့ကို တီးမှုတ်တတ်သောသူ အပေါင်းတို့၏ အဘဆရာဖြစ်လေသတည်း။

²²And Zillah, she also bare Tubal-cain, the forger of every cutting instrument of brass and iron: and the sister of Tubal-cain was Naamah.

²²ဇိလသည်လည်း၊ သားတုဗလကာဣနကို ဘွားမြင်လေ၏။ သူသည် ပန်းတဉ်းသမား၊ ပန်းပဲသမား အ ပေါင်းတို့၏ဆရာဖြစ်လေ၏။ တုဗလကာဣန၏နှမကား၊ နေမအမည်ရှိ၏။

²³And Lamech said unto his wives: Adah and Zillah, hear my voice; Ye wives of Lamech, hearken unto my speech: For I have slain a man for wounding me, And a young man for bruising me:

²³လာမက်ကလည်း အာဒနှင့်ဇိလ၊ ငါပြောသံကို မှတ်ကြလော့။ လာမက်မားတို့၊ ငါ့စကားကို နားထောင်ကြလော့။ ငါ့ကိုထိခိုက်သော လူတယောက်တည်းဟူသော၊ ငါ့ကိုညှဉ်းဆဲသောလူပျိုတယောက်ကို ငါသတ်ခဲ့ပြီ။

²⁴If Cain shall be avenged sevenfold, Truly Lamech seventy and sevenfold.

²⁴ကာဣနသည် ခုနစ်ဆသောတရားကိုရလျှင်၊ အကယ်၍လာမက်သည်၊ အဆခုနှစ်ဆယ် ခုနစ်ဆသော တရားကို ရလိမ့်မည်ဟု မိမိမယားတို့ကိုပြောဆို၏။

²⁵And Adam knew his wife again; and she bare a son, and called his name Seth. For, [said she], God hath appointed me another seed instead of Abel; for Cain slew him.

²⁵အာဒံသည်လည်း မိမိမယားနှင့် တဖန်ဆက်ဆံပြန်လျှင်၊ မယားသည် သားကို ဘွားမြင်၍ ရှေသဟူသော အမည်ဖြင့် မှည့်လေ၏။ အကြောင်းမူကား၊ ကာဣနသတ်သော အာဗေလကိုယ်စား တပါးသောအနွယ်ကို အကျွန်ုပ် အဘို့ ဘုရားသခင်၌ ခန့်ထားတော်မူပြီဟု ဆိုသတည်း။

²⁶And to Seth, to him also there was born a son; and he called his name Enosh. Then began men to call upon the name of Jehovah.

²⁶ရှေသသည်လည်း သားကိုရ၍ ဧနုတ်ဟူသော အမည်ဖြင့် မှည့်လေ၏။ ထိုကာလ၌ ထာဝရဘုရား၏ နာမတော်ကို အမှီပြု၍ ကိုးကွယ်စ ပြုကြလေ၏၊
