¹Is there not a warfare to man upon earth? And are not his days like the days of a hireling?

¹လူတို့သည် မြေကြီးပေါ်မှာ ပင်ပန်းစွာအမှုထမ်း ရသည် မဟုတ်လော။ သူနေရသော နေ့ရက်တို့သည် အငှါးခံသောသူ၏ နေ့ရက်ကဲ့သို့ ဖြစ်သည်မဟုတ်လော။

²As a servant that earnestly desireth the shadow, And as a hireling that looketh for his wages:

²ကျွန်ခံရသောသူသည် မိုဃ်းချုပ်သောအချိန်ကို တောင့်တ၍၊ အငှါးခံသောသူသည် အခရမည့်အချိန်ကို မြော်လင့်သကဲ့သို့၊

³So am I made to possess months of misery, And wearisome nights are appointed to me.

³ထိုနည်းတူငါသည် ဒုက္ခနေ့လတို့နှင့်ဆိုင်ရ၏။ ပင်ပန်းစွာခံရသော ညဉ့်တို့သည်လည်း ငါ၏အငန်း အတာ ဖြစ်၏။

⁴When I lie down, I say, When shall I arise, and the night be gone? And I am full of tossings to and fro unto the dawning of the day.

⁴အဘယ်အခါမှ ညဉ့်ကုန်၍ ငါထရပါမည်နည်း ဟုငါသည် ညည်းတွားလျက် အိပ်ရ၏။ မိုဃ်းလင်းသည် တိုင်အောင် လှိမ့်လျက် လူးလျက်နေရ၏။

⁵My flesh is clothed with worms and clods of dust; My skin closeth up, and breaketh out afresh.

⁵လောက်နှင့်ရွှံ့တို့သည် အဝတ်ကဲ့သို့ ငါ့ကိုယ်ကို ဖုံးလွှမ်းကြ၏။ ငါ့အရေသည်ကွဲ၍ ယိလျက်ရှိ၏။

⁶My days are swifter than a weaver's shuttle, And are spent without hope.

⁶ငါ့နေ့ရက်တို့သည် ရက်ကန်းလွန်းထက်မြန်၍ မြော်လင့်ခြင်းမရှိဘဲ လွန်သွားတတ်ကြ၏။

⁷Oh remember that my life is a breath: Mine eye shall no more see good.

⁷ငါ့အသက်သည် လေသက်သက်ဖြစ်ကြောင်းကို အောက်မေ့တော်မူပါ။ နောက်တဖန်ကောင်းသော အကျိုးကို ငါမမြင်ရ။

⁸The eye of him that seeth me shall behold me no more; Thine eyes shall be upon me, but I shall not be.

⁸ငါ့ကို မြင်သောသူသည် နောက်တဖန်မမြင်ရ။ ကိုယ်တော်သည် ကြည့်ရှုတော်မူသောအခါ ငါပျောက်ပါ ပြီ။

⁹As the cloud is consumed and vanisheth away, So he that goeth down to Sheol shall come up no more.

⁹မိုဃ်းတိမ်သည် ပြယ်ပျောက်ကွယ်လွင့် သကဲ့သို့၊ သင်္ချိုင်းတွင်းထဲသို့ ဆင်းသောသူသည် နောက်တဖန် မတက်ရ။

¹⁰He shall return no more to his house, Neither shall his place know him any more.

¹⁰မိမိအိမ်သို့မပြန်ရ။ သူ၏နေရင်းအရပ်သည် နောက်တဖန် သူ့ကိုမသိရ။

¹¹Therefore I will not refrain my mouth; I will speak in the anguish of my spirit; I will complain in the bitterness of my soul.

¹¹ထို့ကြောင့် ငါသည်ကိုယ်နှုတ်ကို မချုပ်တည်း။ စိတ်ပင်ပန်းလျက်နှင့်စကားပြောရ၏။ အလွန်ညှိုးငယ် သော စိတ်နှင့်မြည်တမ်းရ၏။

¹²Am I a sea, or a sea-monster, That thou settest a watch over me?

¹²ငါသည် ပင်လယ်ဖြစ်သလော။ နဂါးဖြစ်သလော။ ထိုသို့ဖြစ်သောကြောင့် ငါ့ကိုအစောင့်ထား တော်မူရသလော။

¹³When I say, My bed shall comfort me, My couch shall ease my complaint;

¹³ငါသည်အိပ်၍ သက်သာမည်။ ငါ့ခုတင်သည် ချမ်းသာပေးမည်ဟု ငါဆိုလျှင်၊

¹⁴Then thou scarest me with dreams, And terrifiest me through visions:

¹⁴ကိုယ်တော်သည် ကြောက်မက်ဘွယ်သော အိပ်မက်ကိုပေးတော်မူ၏။ ညဉ့်ရူပါရုံအားဖြင့် ငါ့ကို ထိတ်လန့်စေတော်မူ၏။

¹⁵So that my soul chooseth strangling, And death rather than [these] my bones.

¹⁵ငါသည်ကိုယ်အရိုးကို နှမြောသည်ထက် အသက်ချုပ်၍သေရသောအခွင့်ကို သာ၍ တောင့်တ ပါ၏။

¹⁶I loathe [my life]; I would not live alway: Let me alone; for my days are vanity.

¹⁶ငါသည်အားလျော့လျက်ရှိ၏။ အစဉ်မပြတ်အသက်မရှင်ရာ။ ငါ့ကိုတတ်တိုင်း ရှိစေတော်မူပါ။ ငါ့အသက်သည် အခိုးအငွေ့ဖြစ်၏။

¹⁷What is man, that thou shouldest magnify him, And that thou shouldest set thy mind upon him,

¹⁷ကိုယ်တော်သည် လူကိုပမာဏပြု၍ စိတ်စွဲလမ်း တော်မူမည်အကြောင်း၊

¹⁸And that thou shouldest visit him every morning, And try him every moment?

¹⁸သူ့ကိုနံနက်တိုင်း အကြည့်အရှုကြွလာ၍၊ ခဏခဏစုံစမ်းတော်မူမည်အကြောင်း၊ လူသည် အဘယ်သို့သောသူဖြစ်ပါသနည်း။

¹⁹How long wilt thou not look away from me, Nor let me alone till I swallow down my spittle?

¹⁹အဘယ်ကာလမှ ငါ့ကိုမကြည့်မရှု မျက်နှာ လွှဲတော်မူမည်နည်း။ ငါသည်ကိုယ်တံထွေးကို မျိုရသည် တိုင်အောင်၊ အဘယ်ကာလမှ တတ်တိုင်းရှိစေတော် မူမည်နည်း။

²⁰If I have sinned, what do I unto thee, O thou watcher of men? Why hast thou set me as a mark for thee, So that I am a burden to myself?

²⁰လူကိုစောင့်တော်မူသောအရှင်၊ အကျွန်ုပ်အပြစ် ရှိသည်မှန်ပါစေတော့။ ကိုယ်တော်ရှေ့မှာ အဘယ်သို့ ပြုရပါမည်နည်း။ အကျွန်ုပ်သည် ကိုယ်ကိုကိုယ်ရွံ့ရှာရ သည်တိုင်အောင် အကျွန်ုပ်ကို အဘယ်ကြောင့် ပစ်စရာ စက်သွင်းတော်မူသနည်း။

²¹And why dost thou not pardon my transgression, and take away mine iniquity? For now shall I lie down in the dust; And thou wilt seek me diligently, but I shall not be.

²¹အကျွန်ုပ်ပြစ်မှားခြင်းကို အဘယ်ကြောင့် သည်းခံတော်မမူသနည်း။ အကျွန်ုပ်အပြစ်ကို အဘယ် ကြောင့် ဖြေရှင်းတော်မမူသနည်း။ ယခုမှာအကျွန်ုပ်သည် မြေမှုန့်၌အိပ်ရပါမည်။ ကိုယ်တော်သည် နံနက်အချိန်၌ ရှာတော်မူသောအခါ၊ အကျွန်ုပ်မရှိပါဟု မြွက်ဆို၏။
