1And the men of Ephraim were gathered together, and passed northward; and they said unto Jephthah, Wherefore passedst thou over to fight against the children of Ammon, and didst not call us to go with thee? we will burn thy house upon thee with fire.
1ဧဖရိမ်အမျိုးသားတို့သည် စည်းဝေး၍ မြောက်သို့ ချီသွားလျှင်၊ ယေဖသအား သင်သည် ငါတို့ကို မခေါ်ဘဲ၊ အမ္မုန်အမျိုးသားတို့ကို အဘယ်ကြောင့် တိုက်ခြင်းငှါ သွားသနည်း။ သင့်အိမ်ကို သင့်အပေါ်မှာ မီးရှို့မည်ဟု ဆိုကြသော်၊
2And Jephthah said unto them, I and my people were at great strife with the children of Ammon; and when I called you, ye saved me not out of their hand.
2ယေဖသက၊ ငါနှင့် ငါ၏လူတို့သည် အမ္မုန်အမျိုးသားတို့နှင့် ကြီးသောအမှု ရှိစဉ်အခါ၊ သင်တို့ကို ငါခေါ်သော်လည်း၊ သင်တို့သည် အမ္မုန်လူတို့လက်မှ ငါ့ကို မကယ်မနှုတ်ဘဲ နေကြ၏။
3And when I saw that ye saved me not, I put my life in my hand, and passed over against the children of Ammon, and Jehovah delivered them into my hand: wherefore then are ye come up unto me this day, to fight against me?
3မကယ်မနှုတ်ကြောင်းကို ငါသည် သိမြင်သောအခါ၊ ကိုယ်အသက်ကို စွန့်စားလျက် အမ္မုန်အမျိုးသား တို့ကို တိုက်ခြင်းငှါ သွား၍ ထာဝရဘုရားသည် သူတို့ကို ငါ့လက်၌ အပ်တော်မူ၏။ သင်တို့သည် ငါ့ကို တိုက်ခြင်းငှါ အဘယ်ကြောင့် ယနေ့ လာကြသနည်းဟု ပြောဆိုပြီးလျှင်၊
4Then Jephthah gathered together all the men of Gilead, and fought with Ephraim; and the men of Gilead smote Ephraim, because they said, Ye are fugitives of Ephraim, ye Gileadites, in the midst of Ephraim, [and] in the midst of Manasseh.
4ဂိလဒ်ပြည်သားအပေါင်းတို့ကို စုဝေးစေ၍ ဧဖရိမ်အမျိုးကို တိုက်ကြ၏။ ဧဖရိမ်လူတို့က၊ သင်တို့သည် ဧဖရိမ်အမျိုး၊ မနာရှေအမျိုးထဲက ထွက်ပြေး၍ အမျိုးမစစ်သောသူ ဖြစ်သည်ဟု ဂိလဒ်ပြည်သားတို့ကို ကဲ့ရဲ့ဘူးသောကြောင့်၊ ဧဖရိမ်လူတို့ကို လုပ်ကြံကြ၏။
5And the Gileadites took the fords of the Jordan against the Ephraimites. And it was so, that, when [any of] the fugitives of Ephraim said, Let me go over, the men of Gilead said unto him, Art thou an Ephraimite? If he said, Nay;
5ဂိလဒ်လူတို့သည် ဧဖရိမ်လူတို့ရှေ့မှာ ယော်ဒန်မြစ်ကူးရာအရပ်တို့ကို ဆီးတား၍ ပြေးလွတ်သော ဧဖရိမ်လူက၊ ကူးပါရစေဟု အခွင့်တောင်းသောအခါ၊ ဂိလဒ်လူတို့က၊ သင်သည် ဧဖရိမ်အမျိုးသား ဖြစ်သလောဟု မေးစစ်သော်၊ သူက မဟုတ်ပါဟု ဆိုလျှင်၊
6then said they unto him, Say now Shibboleth; and he said Sibboleth; for he could not frame to pronounce it right: then they laid hold on him, and slew him at the fords of the Jordan. And there fell at that time of Ephraim forty and two thousand.
6သူတို့က၊ ရှိဗောလက်ဟူသော စကားကို ပြောတော့ဟုဆိုသော်၊ ဧဖရိမ်လူသည် ထိုစကားကို ပြီအောင် မပြောတတ်ဘဲ သိဗောလက်ဟု ပြော၏။ ထိုသို့ပြောသောသူကို ဘမ်းဆီး၍ ယော်ဒန်မြစ်ကူးရာအရပ် ၌ သတ်ကြ၏။ ထိုအခါ ဧဖရိမ်အမျိုးသား လေးသောင်းနှစ်ထောင် သေကြ၏။
7And Jephthah judged Israel six years. Then died Jephthah the Gileadite, and was buried in [one of] the cities of Gilead.
7ဂိလဒ်ပြည်သားယေဖသသည် ဣသရေလအမျိုးကို ခြောက်နှစ်အုပ်စိုးပြီးမှ သေ၍ ဂိလဒ်မြို့တမြို့၌ သင်္ဂြိုဟ်လေ၏။
8And after him Ibzan of Beth-lehem judged Israel.
8ယေဖသနောက်မှ ဗက်လင်မြို့သား ဣဗဇန်သည်၊ ဣသရေလအမျိုးကို အုပ်စိုး၏။
9And he had thirty sons; and thirty daughters he sent abroad, and thirty daughters he brought in from abroad for his sons. And he judged Israel seven years.
9ထိုမင်းသည် သားသုံးဆယ်၊ သမီးသုံးဆယ် ရှိ၏။ သမီးများကို အခြားတပါးသို့ စေလွှတ်၍ ချွေးမ သုံးဆယ်ကို သိမ်းထား၏။
10And Ibzan died, and was buried at Beth-lehem.
10ဣဗဇန်သည် ဣသရေလအမျိုးကို ခုနစ်နှစ်အုပ်စိုးပြီးမှ သေ၍ ဗက်လင်မြို့၌ သင်္ဂြိုဟ်လေ၏။
11And after him Elon the Zebulunite judged Israel; and he judged Israel ten years.
11ဣဗဇန်နောက်မှ ဇာဗုလုန်အမျိုးသားဧလုန်သည်၊ ဣသရေလအမျိုးကို ဆယ်နှစ်အုပ်စိုး၏။
12And Elon the Zebulunite died, and was buried in Aijalon in the land of Zebulun.
12ထိုမင်းသေ၍ ဇာဗုလုန်ခရိုင်၊ အာဇလုန်မြို့၌ သင်္ဂြိုဟ်လေ၏။
13And after him Abdon the son of Hillel the Pirathonite judged Israel.
13ဧလုန်နောက်မှ ပိရသုန်မြို့နေ ဟိလေလ၏သား အာဗဒုန်သည်၊ ဣသရေလအမျိုးကို အုပ်စိုး၏။
14And he had forty sons and thirty sons' sons, that rode on threescore and ten ass colts: and he judged Israel eight years.
14ထိုမင်းသည် သားလေးဆယ်၊ မြေးသုံးဆယ်ရှိ၍ သားမြေးတို့သည် ခုနစ်ဆယ်သော မြည်းသငယ်တို့ကို စီးကြ၏။
15And Abdon the son of Hillel the Pirathonite died, and was buried in Pirathon in the land of Ephraim, in the hill-country of the Amalekites.
15ပိရသုန်မြို့ နေဟိလေလသား အာဗဒုန်သည်၊ ဣသရေလအမျိုးကို ရှစ်နှစ်အုပ်စိုးပြီးမှ သေ၍ ဧဖရိမ်ခရိုင်၊ ပိရသုန်မြို့၊ အာမလက်တောင်ပေါ်မှာ သင်္ဂြိုဟ်လေ၏။
