¹And he went out from thence; and he cometh into his own country; and his disciples follow him.

¹ထိုအရပ်မှကြွ၍ တပည့်တော်တို့သည် လိုက်ကြသဖြင့် မိမိမြို့သို့ ရောက်တော်မူ၏။

²And when the sabbath was come, he began to teach in the synagogue: and many hearing him were astonished, saying, Whence hath this man these things? and, What is the wisdom that is given unto this man, and [what mean] such mighty works wrought by his hands?

²ဥပုသ်နေ့ရောက်လျှင် တရားစရပ်၌ ဆုံးမဩဝါဒပေးတော်မူ၏။ လူများတို့သည် ကြားနာရလျှင် မိန်းမောတွေဝေခြင်းသို့ ရောက်၍၊ ဤသူသည် ဤအရာတို့ကို အဘယ်မှာရသနည်း။ သူရသော ပညာကား အဘယ်ပညာနည်း။ ဤမျှလောက်သော တန်ခိုးများကို အဘယ်သို့ပြနိုင်သနည်း။

³Is not this the carpenter, the son of Mary, and brother of James, and Joses, and Judas, and Simon? and are not his sisters here with us? And they were offended in him.

³သူသည် လက်သမားမဟုတ်လော။ မာရိ၏သား မဟုတ်လော။ ယာကုပ်၊ ယောသေ၊ ယုဒ၊ ရှိမုန်တို့၏ အစ်ကိုမဟုတ်လော။ သူ့နှမများသည်လည်း ငါတို့နှင့် အနီးအပါးနေကြသည်မဟုတ်လောဟု ပြောဆိုလျက် စေတနာစိတ်ပျက်ကြ၏။

⁴And Jesus said unto them, A prophet is not without honor, save in his own country, and among his own kin, and in his own house.

⁴ယေရှုကလည်း၊ ပရောဖက်သည် မိမိမြို့၊ မိမိအဆွေနေရာ၊ မိမိအိမ်မှတပါး အခြားသောအရပ်၌ အသ ရေရှိသည်ဟု ထိုသူတို့အားမိန့်တော်မူ၏။

⁵And he could there do no mighty work, save that he laid his hands upon a few sick folk, and healed them.

⁵မကျန်းမမာသောသူအချို့ကိုအပေါ်မှာ လက်တော်ကိုတင်၍ အနာကိုငြိမ်းစေခြင်းမှတပါး အဘယ် တန်ခိုးတော်ကိုမျှ ထိုအရပ်၌ ပြတော်မမူနိုင်။

⁶And he marvelled because of their unbelief. And he went round about the villages teaching.

⁶ထိုသူတို့သည် မယုံကြည်ကြသည်ကို အံ့ဩခြင်းရှိတော်မူ၏။ ပတ်လည်၌ရှိသော မြို့ရွာများသို့ ဒေသစာရီ လှည့်လည်၍ ဆုံးမဩဝါဒပေးတော်မူ၏။

⁷And he calleth unto him the twelve, and began to send them forth by two and two; and he gave them authority over the unclean spirits;

⁷တကျိပ်နှစ်ပါးသောတပည့်တော်တို့ကို ခေါ်တော်မူပြီးမှ၊ ညစ်ညူးသောနတ်တို့ကို နိုင်စေခြင်းငှါ အခွင့် ပေးလျက်၊ နှစ်ယောက်စီနှစ်ယောက်စီစေလွှတ်တော်မူ၍၊

⁸and he charged them that they should take nothing for [their] journey, save a staff only; no bread, no wallet, now money in their purse;

⁸သင်တို့သည် တောင်ဝေးတခုမှတပါး လမ်းခရီးတို့ အဘယ်အရာကိုမျှ မယူကြနှင့်။ လွယ်အိတ်နှင့်မုန့် မှစ၍ ခါးပန်း၌ ကြေးငွေကို မယူကြနှင့်။

⁹but [to go] shod with sandals: and, [said he], put not on two coats.

⁹ခြေနင်းကို စီးကြလော့။ အင်္ကျီနှစ်ထပ်မဝတ်ကြနှင့်ဟု မှာထားတော်မူ၏။

¹⁰And he said unto them, Wheresoever ye enter into a house, there abide till ye depart thence.

¹⁰ထိုမှတပါး သင်တို့သည် မည်သည်အိမ်သို့ဝင်လျှင်၊ ထိုအိမ်တွင် ထိုအရပ်မှ မထွက်မသွားမှီတိုင်အောင် နေကြလော့။

¹¹And whatsoever place shall not receive you, and they hear you not, as ye go forth thence, shake off the dust that is under your feet for a testimony unto them.

¹¹အကြင်သူတို့သည် သင်တို့ကို လက်မခံ၊ သင်တို့ ၏ စကားကိုနားမထောင်ဘဲနေ၏။ ထိုသူတို့နေရာ အရပ်မှ ထွက်သွားစဉ်၊ သူတို့တဘက်၌သက်သေဖြစ်စေခြင်းငှါ သင်တို့၏ခြေဘဝါးမှ မြေမှုန့်ကို ခါလိုက်ကြ လော့။ ငါအမှန်ဆိုသည်ကား၊ တရားဆုံးဖြတ်သောနေ့၌ ထိုမြို့သည် သောဒုံမြို့နှင့် ဂေါမောရမြို့ထက်သာ ခံရ လတံ့ဟု မိန့်တော်မူ၏။

¹²And they went out, and preached that [men] should repent.

¹²တပည့်တော်တို့သည် ထွက်သွား၍ နောင်တတရားကိုဟောကြ၏။

¹³And they cast out many demons, and anointed with oil many that were sick, and healed them.

¹³နတ်ဆိုးများကို နှင်ထုတ်ကြ၏။ မကျန်းမမာသော သူများတို့ကို ဆီနှင့်လူး၍ အနာကို ငြိမ်းစေကြ၏။

¹⁴And king Herod heard [thereof]; for his name had become known: and he said, John the Baptizer is risen from the dead, and therefore do these powers work in him.

¹⁴ထိုအခါ သိတင်းတော်ကျော်စောသည်ဖြစ်၍၊ ဟေရုဒ်မင်းကြီးသည် ကြားလျှင်၊ ဗတ္တိဇံဆရာယောဟန် သည် သေခြင်းမှ ထမြောက်လေပြီ။ ထိုကြောင့် တန်ခိုးများကို ပြနိုင်သည်ဟု ဆို၏။

¹⁵But others said, It is Elijah. And others said, [It is] a prophet, [even] as one of the prophets.

¹⁵လူအချို့က၊ ဤသူသည် ဧလိယဖြစ်သည်ဟု ဆိုကြ၏။ အချို့က၊ ရှေးပရောဖက်ကဲ့သို့ ပရောဖက်ဖြစ် သည်ဟု ဆိုကြ၏။

¹⁶But Herod, when he heard [thereof], said, John, whom I beheaded, he is risen.

¹⁶ဟေရုဒ်သည် ကြားလျှင်၊ ဤသူကား ငါ၏အမိန့်နှင့် လည်ပင်းကိုဖြတ်သော ယောဟန်ဖြစ်၏။ သေခြင်းမှ ထမြောက်လေပြီဟု ဆိုလေ၏။

¹⁷For Herod himself had sent forth and laid hold upon John, and bound him in prison for the sake of Herodias, his brother Philip's wife; for he had married her.

¹⁷အထက်က ဟေရုဒ်သည် မိမိညီ ဖိလိပ္ပု၏ ခင်ပွန်းဟေရောဒိကို သိမ်းယူသဖြင့်၊ ထိုမိန်းမအကြောင်း ကြောင့် စေလွှတ်၍ ယောဟန်ကို ဘမ်းဆီးပြီးလျှင် ထောင်ထဲမှာချုပ်နှောင်လေ၏။

¹⁸For John said unto Herod, It is not lawful for thee to have thy brother's wife.

¹⁸အကြောင်းမူကား၊ ယောဟန်က အရှင်မင်းကြီးသည် ညီတော်၏ခင်ပွန်းကို မသိမ်းအပ်ဟု ဟေရုဒ်အား ဆိုလေပြီ။

¹⁹And Herodias set herself against him, and desired to kill him; and she could not;

¹⁹ထိုကြောင့်၊ ဟေရောဒိသည် ယောဟန်ကို ရန်ငြိုးဖွဲ့သဖြင့် သတ်ခြင်းငှါအလိုရှိ၏။

²⁰for Herod feared John, knowing that he was a righteous and holy man, and kept him safe. And when he heard him, he was much perplexed; and he heard him gladly.

²⁰သို့သော်လည်း ယောဟန်သည် ဖြောင့်မတ်သန့်ရှင်းသောသူဖြစ်ကြောင်းကို ဟေရုဒ်သည် သိ၍ သူ့ကို ကြောက်ရွံ့ရိုသေ၏။ သူ့ကိုလည်း စောင့်မ၏။ အမူအရာများတို့၌ သူ၏စကားကို နားထောင်၍ ဝမ်းမြောက် သောစိတ်နှင့်လည်း နားထောင်တတ်သည် ဖြစ်သောကြောင့် ထိုမိန်းမသည် အခွင့်မရနိုင်။

²¹And when a convenient day was come, that Herod on his birthday made a supper to his lords, and the high captains, and the chief men of Galilee;

²¹ထိုနောက်မှ အဆင်သင့်သောအခါ ဟေရုဒ်ကို ဘွားသောနေ့ရက်၌ နှစ်စဉ်ပွဲကိုခံ၍ မှူးမတ်၊ စစ်သူ ကြီး၊ ဂါလိလဲပြည်၌ အကြီးအကဲဖြစ်သောသူတို့ကို ကျွေးတော်မူစဉ်တွင်၊

²²and when the daughter of Herodias herself came in and danced, she pleased Herod and them that sat at meat with him; and the king said unto the damsel, Ask of me whatsoever thou wilt, and I will give it thee.

²²ဟေရောဒိ၏သမီးသည် ဝင်၍ ကသဖြင့်၊ ဟေရုဒ်မှစ၍ အပေါင်းအဘော်တို့အား နူးညွတ်သော စိတ် ကိုဖြစ်စေ၏။ ထိုအခါ မင်းကြီးက၊ သင်သည် အလိုရှိသမျှကို တောင်းလော့၊ ငါပေးမည်ဟု ထိုမိန်းမငယ်အား ဆိုလေ၏။

²³And he sware unto her, Whatsoever thou shalt ask of me, I will give it thee, unto the half of my kingdom.

²³တဖန်လည်း၊ သင်တောင်းသမျှကို ငါ့နိုင်ငံ တဝက်တိုင်အောင် ငါပေးမည်ဟု ကျိန်ဆိုလေ၏။

²⁴And she went out, and said unto her mother, What shall I ask? And she said, The head of John the Baptizer.

²⁴ထိုမိန်းမငယ်သည် ထွက်၍ အဘယ်အရာကို တောင်းရမည်နည်းဟု သူ၏အမိကိုမေးလျှင် အမိက၊ ဗတ္တိဇံဆရာယောဟန်၏ ဦးခေါင်းကို တောင်းလော့ဟု ပြန်ဆိုသော်၊

²⁵And she came in straightway with haste unto the king, and asked, saying, I will that thou forthwith give me on a platter the head of John the Baptist.

²⁵ချက်ခြင်းမိန်းမငယ်သည် မင်းကြီးထံသို့ အလျင်တဆောဝင်၍၊ ဗတ္တိဇံဆရာယောဟန်၏ ဦးခေါင်းကို ဤလင်ပန်း၌ အလျင်အမြန်ပေးတော်မူစေခြင်းငှါ ကျွန်မ အလိုရှိပါသည်ဟု တောင်းလျှောက်၏။

²⁶And the king was exceeding sorry; but for the sake of his oaths, and of them that sat at meat, he would not reject her.

²⁶မင်းကြီးသည် အလွန်ဝမ်းနည်းခြင်းရှိသော်လည်း၊ ကျိန်ဆိုခြင်းကို၎င်း၊ အပေါင်းအဘော်တို့၏ မျက်နှာ ကို၎င်း၊ ထောက်သောကြောင့်၊ ထိုမိန်းမငယ်ကို မငြင်းမပယ်လို၍၊

²⁷And straightway the king sent forth a soldier of his guard, and commanded to bring his head: and he went and beheaded him in the prison,

²⁷ဦးခေါင်းကို ယူခဲ့ဟု အမိန့်တော်ရှိလျက် လူစောင့်တယောက်ကို ချက်ခြင်းစေလွှတ်လျှင်၊ လူစောင့် သည် သွား၍ ယောဟန်၏လည်ပင်းကို ထောင်ထဲမှာ ဖြတ်လေ၏။

²⁸and brought his head on a platter, and gave it to the damsel; and the damsel gave it to her mother.

²⁸ဦးခေါင်းကို လင်ပန်း၌ဆောင်ခဲ့၍ ထိုမိန်းမငယ်အားပေးပြီးမှ မိန်းမငယ်သည်လည်း သူ့အမိကို ပေး လေ၏။

²⁹And when his disciples heard [thereof], they came and took up his corpse, and laid it in a tomb.

²⁹ယောဟန်၏တပည့်တို့သည်လည်း ကြားသောအခါလာ၍အလောင်းကို ဆောင်သွားပြီးလျှင် သင်္ချိုင်း တွင်း၌ ထားကြ၏။

³⁰And the apostles gather themselves together unto Jesus; and they told him all things, whatsoever they had done, and whatsoever they had taught.

³⁰တမန်တော်တို့သည် ယေရှုထံတော်၌ စုဝေး၍၊ မိမိတို့ပြုသမျှ သွန်သင်သမျှတို့ကို ကြားလျှောက်ကြ၏။

³¹And he saith unto them, Come ye yourselves apart into a desert place, and rest a while. For there were many coming and going, and they had no leisure so much as to eat.

³¹ကိုယ်တော်ကလည်း၊ တော၌ဆိတ်ကွယ်ရာအရပ်သို့ လာကြ။ ခဏအားဖြည့်၍ ငြိမ်သက်စွာ နေကြဟု မိန့်တော်မူ၏။ အကြောင်းမူကား၊ လူများ သွားလာကြသည်ဖြစ်၍ တမန်တော်တို့သည် အစာစားခြင်းငှါမျှ မအားနိုင်ကြ။

³²And they went away in the boat to a desert place apart.

³²ထိုကြောင့်၊ လှေစီး၍ တော၌ ဆိတ်ကွယ်ရာအရပ်သို့ သွားကြ၏။

³³And [the people] saw them going, and many knew [them], and they ran together there on foot from all the cities, and outwent them.

³³သွားကြသည်ကို လူများတို့သည်မြင်၍ ကိုယ်တော်ဖြစ်သည်ကို သိလျှင်၊ အမြို့မြို့အရွာရွာတို့မှ ထွက်၍ ထိုအရပ်သို့ ကုန်းကြောင်းပြေးသွားသဖြင့်၊ တမန်တော်တို့ အရင်ရောက်၍ အထံတော်၌စုဝေးကြ၏။

³⁴And he came forth and saw a great multitude, and he had compassion on them, because they were as sheep not having a shepherd: and he began to teach them many things.

³⁴ယေရှုသည် ထွက်ကြွ၍ လူများအပေါင်းတို့ကို တွေ့မြင်တော်မူလျှင်၊ ထိုသူတို့သည် ထိန်းသူမရှိ၊ ပစ်ထားသော သိုးကဲ့သို့ ဖြစ်ကြသည်ကို သနားခြင်းစိတ်တော်ရှိ၍ များစွာသော ဆုံးမဩဝါဒကို ပေးတော်မူ၏။

³⁵And when the day was now far spent, his disciples came unto him, and said, The place is desert, and the day is now far spent;

³⁵မိုဃ်းချုပ်သောအခါ တပည့်တော်တို့သည် ချဉ်းကပ်၍၊ ဤအရပ်သည် တောအရပ်ဖြစ်ပါ၏။ မိုဃ်း လည်း ချုပ်ပါပြီ။

³⁶send them away, that they may go into the country and villages round about, and buy themselves somewhat to eat.

³⁶လူများတို့သည် ပတ်ဝန်းကျင်ရွာဇနပုဒ်သို့သွား၍ စားစရာကိုဝယ်စေခြင်းငှါ အခွင့်ပေးတော်မူပါ။ သူ တို့၌ စားစရာမရှိပါဟု လျှောက်ကြလျှင်၊

³⁷But he answered and said unto them, Give ye them to eat. And they say unto him, Shall we go and buy two hundred shillings' worth of bread, and give them to eat?

³⁷ကိုယ်တော်က၊ သူတို့စားစရာဘို့ သင်တို့ပေးကြလော့ဟု ပြန်ပြောတော်မူ၏။ တပည့်တော်တို့ကလည်း၊ အကျွန်ုပ်တို့သည် သွား၍ ဒေနာရိအပြားနှစ်ရာနှင့်မုန့်ကိုဝယ်ပြီးလျှင် သူတို့အား စားစရာဘို့ ပေးရပါအံ့လောဟု လျှောက်ကြ၏။

³⁸And he saith unto them, How many loaves have ye? go [and] see. And when they knew, they say, Five, and two fishes.

³⁸ကိုယ်တော်ကလည်း၊ သင်တို့၌ မုန့်ဘယ်နှစ်လုံးရှိသနည်း။ သွား၍ ကြည့်ရှုကြဟု မိန့်တော်မူသည် အတိုင်း သူတို့သည် သိပြီးမှ၊ မုန့်ငါးလုံးနှင့် ငါးနှစ်ကောင် ရှိပါသည်ဟု လျှောက်ပြန်၏။

³⁹And he commanded them that all should sit down by companies upon the green grass.

³⁹ထိုအခါ လူအပေါင်းတို့ကို မြက်စိမ်းပေါ်မှာ အစုစုလျောင်းကြစေဟု အမိန့်တော်ရှိ၏။

⁴⁰And they sat down in ranks, by hundreds, and by fifties.

⁴⁰သူတို့သည် တရာတစု၊ ငါးဆယ်တစု၊ အစုစုလျောင်းကြလျှင်၊

⁴¹And he took the five loaves and the two fishes, and looking up to heaven, he blessed, and brake the loaves; and he gave to the disciples to set before them; and the two fishes divided he among them all.

⁴¹ကိုယ်တော်သည် မုန့်ငါးလုံးနှင့် ငါးနှစ်ကောင်ကိုယူ၍၊ ကောင်းကင်သို့ ကြည့်မျှော်လျက် ကျေးဇူးတော် ကို ချီးမွမ်းပြီးမှ မုန့်ကိုဖဲ့၍ လူများတို့ရှေ့၌ထည့်စေခြင်းငှါ တပည့်တော်တို့အား ပေးတော်မူ၏။ ငါးနှစ်ကောင်ကို လည်း လူအပေါင်းတို့အား ဝေငှတော်မူ၏။

⁴²And they all ate, and were filled.

⁴²လူအပေါင်းတို့သည် စား၍ဝကြပြီးမှ၊

⁴³And they took up broken pieces, twelve basketfuls, and also of the fishes.

⁴³မုန့်နှင့်ငါးအကျိုးအပဲ့ကို ကောက်သိမ်း၍ တဆယ်နှစ်တောင်း၊ အပြည့်ရကြ၏။

⁴⁴And they that ate the loaves were five thousand men.

⁴⁴မုန့်ကိုစားသောသူ ယောက်ျားအရေအတွက်ကား၊ လူငါးထောင်မျှလောက်ရှိသတည်း။

⁴⁵And straightway he constrained his disciples to enter into the boat, and to go before [him] unto the other side to Bethsaida, while he himself sendeth the multitude away.

⁴⁵စည်းဝေးသောသူတို့ကို လွှတ်တော်မူစဉ်တွင် တပည့်တော်တို့ လှေစီးစေ၍ ကမ်းတဘက်ဗက်ဇဲဒမြို့သို့ အရင်ကူးစေတော်မူ၏။

⁴⁶And after he had taken leave of them, he departed into the mountain to pray.

⁴⁶စည်းဝေးသောသူတို့ကို လွှတ်ပြီးမှ ဆုတောင်းပဌနာပြုအံ့သောငှါ တောင်ပေါ်သို့ ကြွတော်မူ၏။

⁴⁷And when even was come, the boat was in the midst of the sea, and he alone on the land.

⁴⁷ညအချိန်ရောက်သောအခါ လှေသည် အိုင်အလယ်၌ရှိ၏။ ကိုယ်တော်သည် ကုန်းပေါ်မှ တယောက် တည်း ရှိနေတော်မူ၏။

⁴⁸And seeing them distressed in rowing, for the wind was contrary unto them, about the fourth watch of the night he cometh unto them, walking on the sea; and he would have passed by them:

⁴⁸လေမသင့်သောကြောင့် တပည့်တော်တို့သည် တက်ခတ်၍ပင်ပန်းကြသည်ကို မြင်တော်မူ၏။ ညသုံး ချက်တီးကျော်အချိန်၌ အိုင်ပေါ်မှ စက်တော်ဖြန့်လျက်၊ သူတို့ရှိရာသို့ကြွ၍ အနားမှာ ရှောက်သွားမည် ပြု တော်မူ၏။

⁴⁹but they, when they saw him walking on the sea, supposed that it was a ghost, and cried out;

⁴⁹ထိုသို့ အိုင်ပေါ်မှာ စက်တော်ဖြန့်၍ ကြွတော်မူသည်ကို သူတို့သည်မြင်လျှင်၊ ဖုတ်တစ္ဆေဖြစ်သည်ဟု စိတ်ထင်နှင့် အော်ဟစ်ကြ၏။

⁵⁰for they all saw him, and were troubled. But he straightway spake with them, and saith unto them, Be of good cheer: it is I; be not afraid.

⁵⁰ထိုသူအပေါင်းတို့သည် ကိုယ်တော်ကိုမြင်၍ ထိတ်လန့်ခြင်းသို့ရောက်ကြ၏။ ကိုယ်တော်သည် ချက် ခြင်းနှုတ်ဆက်၍ တည်ကြည်သောစိတ်ရှိကြလော့။ ငါပင်ဖြစ်သည်၊ မကြောက်လန့်ကြနှင့်ဟု မိန့်တော်မူ၏။

⁵¹And he went up unto them into the boat; and the wind ceased: and they were sore amazed in themselves;

⁵¹လှေပေါ်၌ သူတို့ရှိရာသို့ တက်တော်မူလျှင် လေသည်ငြိမ်လေ၏။ ထိုသူတို့သည် အတိုင်းထက်အလွန် မိန်းမောတွေဝေအံ့ဩခြင်းသို့ ရောက်ကြ၏။

⁵²for they understood not concerning the loaves, but their heart was hardened.

⁵²အကြောင်းမူကား၊ သူတို့စိတ်နှလုံး မိုက်သည်ဖြစ်၍ မုန့်၌ပြသောတန်ခိုးတော်ကို ပမာဏမပြုကြ။

⁵³And when they had crossed over, they came to the land unto Gennesaret, and moored to the shore.

⁵³ကမ်းတဘက်သို့ကူးလျှင် ဂင်္နေသရက်နယ်သို့ရောက်၍ လှေကို ဆိုက်ကြ၏။

⁵⁴And when they were come out of the boat, straightway [the people] knew him,

⁵⁴လှေမှဆင်းသောအခါ လူများတို့သည် မျက်နှာတော်ကို ချက်ခြင်းမှတ်မိလျှင်၊

⁵⁵and ran round about that whole region, and began to carry about on their beds those that were sick, where they heard he was.

⁵⁵ပတ်ဝန်းကျင်အရပ်၌ ရှိသမျှသို့ ပြေးသွား၍ မည်သည့်အရပ်၌ ရှိတော်မူသည်ဟုကြားလျှင်၊ ထိုအရပ် သို့ လူနာများကို အိပ်ရာနှင့် ဆောင်ခဲ့ကြ၏။

⁵⁶And wheresoever he entered, into villages, or into cities, or into the country, they laid the sick in the marketplaces, and besought him that they might touch if it were but the border of his garment: and as many as touched him were made whole.

⁵⁶မြို့ရွာဇနပုဒ်သို့ ရောက်တော်မူရာ၌ မကျန်းမမာသောသူတို့ကို လမ်းနားမှာထား၍ အဝတ်တော်၏ ပန်းပွါးကိုမျှတို့ရပါမည်အကြောင်း အခွင့်တောင်းကြ၏။ တို့သမျှသော သူတို့သည်လည်းချမ်းသာရကြ၏။
