¹Take heed that ye do not your righteousness before men, to be seen of them: else ye have no reward with your Father who is in heaven.

¹လူများတို့ မြင်စေခြင်းငှါ ကိုယ်သီလအကျင့်ကို သူ့ရှေ့မှောက်၌ မကျင့်မည်အကြောင်း သတိပြုကြ လော့။ သို့မဟုတ် ကောင်းကင်ဘုံ၌ရှိတော်မူသော သင်တို့အဘထံမှ အကျိုးကိုမခံမရကြ။

²When therefore thou doest alms, sound not a trumpet before thee, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, that they may have glory of men. Verily I say unto you, They have received their reward.

²ထိုကြောင့် သင်သည် အလှူဒါနကို ပေးသောအခါ လျှို့ဝှက်သောသူတို့သည် လူများအချီးအမွမ်းကို ခံလို၍ ပွဲသဘင်လမ်းခရီး၌ မိမိတို့ရှေ့မှာ တံပိုးခရာမှုတ်စေသည်နည်းတူမပြုနှင့်။ ငါအမှန်ဆိုသည်ကား၊ ထိုသူတို့သည် မိမိတို့အကျိုးကိုရကြပြီ။

³But when thou doest alms, let not thy left hand know what thy right hand doeth:

³သင်သည် အလှူဒါနကိုပေးသောအခါ ပေးကြောင်းကို မထင်ရှားစေခြင်းငှါ၊ လက်ျာလက်ပြုသည် အမှုကို လက်ဝဲလက်မျှမသိစေနှင့်။

⁴that thine alms may be in secret: and thy Father who seeth in secret shall recompense thee.

⁴မထင်ရှားသောအရာကို မြင်တော်မူသော သင်၏အဘသည် အကျိုးကိုထင်ရှားစွာ ပေးတော်မူလတံ့။

⁵And when ye pray, ye shall not be as the hypocrites: for they love to stand and pray in the synagogues and in the corners of the streets, that they may be seen of men. Verily I say unto you, They have received their reward.

⁵သင်သည် ဆုတောင်းပဌနာပြုသောအခါ လျှို့ဝှက်သောသူတို့နည်းတူမပြုနှင့်။ ထိုသူတို့သည် လူများ တို့ရှေ့မှာထင်ရှားစေခြင်းငှါ၊ ပွဲသဘင်လမ်းဆုံလမ်းဝတို့၌ ရပ်လျက်ဆုတောင်းခြင်းငှါအလိုရှိကြ၏။ ငါအမှန်ဆို သည်ကား၊ ထိုသူတို့သည် မိမိတို့အကျိုးကိုခံရကြ၏။

⁶But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thine inner chamber, and having shut thy door, pray to thy Father who is in secret, and thy Father who seeth in secret shall recompense thee.

⁶သင်သည် ဆုတောင်းသောအခါ ဆိတ်ညံရာအခန်းသို့ဝင်၍ တံခါးကိုပိတ်ပြီးမှ၊ မထင်ရှားသောအရပ်၌ ရှိတော်မူသော သင်၏အဘကိုဆုတောင်းလော့။ မထင်ရှားသောအရာကို မြင်တော်မူသော သင်၏အဘသည် အကျိုးကို ထင်ရှားစွာပေးတော်မူလတံ့။

⁷And in praying use not vain repetitions, as the Gentiles do: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking.

⁷သင်တို့သည် ဆုတောင်းသောအခါ သာသနာပလူနည်းတူ အချည်းနှီးသောစကားဖြင့် အထပ်ထပ် မမြွက်ကြနှင့်။ ထိုသူတို့သည် များစွာသောစကားအားဖြင့် မိမိတို့အလို ပြည့်စုံမည်ဟု ထင်မှတ်ကြ၏။

⁸Be not therefore like unto them: for your Father knoweth what things ye have need of, before ye ask him.

⁸ထိုသူတို့နည်းတူမပြုကြနှင့်။ အကြောင်းမူကား၊ သင်တို့ အလိုရှိသမျှတို့ကို သင်တို့မတောင်းမှီ သင်တို့ အဘသိတော်မူ၏။

⁹After this manner therefore pray ye. Our Father who art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.

⁹ထိုကြောင့် သင်တို့ဆုတောင်းရမည်မှာ ကောင်းကင်ဘုံ၌ရှိတော်မူသောအကျွန်ုပ်တို့အဘ ကိုယ်တော်၏ နာမတော်အား ရိုသေလေးမြတ်ခြင်း ရှိပါစေသော။

¹⁰Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done, as in heaven, so on earth.

¹⁰နိုင်ငံတော်တည်ထောင်ပါစေသော။ အလိုတော်သည် ကောင်းကင်ဘုံ၌ ပြည့်စုံသကဲ့သို့ မြေကြီးပေါ်မှာ ပြည့်စုံပါစေသော။

¹¹Give us this day our daily bread.

¹¹အသက်မွေးလောက်သောအစာကို အကျွန်ုပ်တို့အား ယနေ့ပေးသနားတော်မူပါ။

¹²And forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors.

¹²သူတပါးသည် အကျွန်ုပ်တို့ကို ပြစ်မှားသောအပြစ်များကို အကျွန်ုပ်တို့သည် လွှတ်သကဲ့သို့ အကျွန်ုပ် တို့၏အပြစ်များကို လွှတ်တော်မူပါ။

¹³And bring us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil [one.]

¹³အပြစ်သွေးဆောင်ရာသို့ မလိုက်မပါစေဘဲ၊ မကောင်းသောအမှုအရာမှလည်း ကယ်နှုတ်တော်မူပါ။ အစိုးပိုင်သောအခွင့်နှင့် ဘုန်းတန်ခိုးအာနုဘော်သည် ကမ္ဘာအဆက်ဆက်ကိုယ်တော်၌ရှိပါ၏။ အာမင်ဟု ဆုတောင်းကြလော့။

¹⁴For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you.

¹⁴သင်တို့သည် သူတပါးတို့၏ အပြစ်ကိုလွှတ်လျှင်၊ ကောင်းကင်ဘုံ၌ရှိတော်မူသောသင်တို့အဘသည် သင်တို့၏အပြစ်ကို လွှတ်တော်မူမည်။

¹⁵But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.

¹⁵သင်တို့သည် သူတပါးတို့၏အပြစ်ကိုမလွှတ်လျှင်၊ သင်တို့အဘသည် သင်တို့၏အပြစ်ကို လွှတ်တော် မမူ။

¹⁶Moreover when ye fast, be not, as the hypocrites, of a sad countenance: for they disfigure their faces, that they may be seen of men to fast. Verily I say unto you, They have received their reward.

¹⁶သင်တို့သည် အစာရှောင်ခြင်းအကျင့်ကိုကျင့်သောအခါ လျှို့ဝှက်သောသူတို့နည်းတူ မျက်နှာညှိုးငယ် ခြင်းမရှိကြနှင့်။ ထိုသူတို့သည် မိမိတို့အစာရှောင်သည်ကို လူများတို့ရှေ့မှာ ထင်ရှားစေခြင်းငှါ မိမိတို့မျက်နှာကို ဖျက်တတ်ကြ၏။

¹⁷But thou, when thou fastest, anoint thy head, and wash thy face;

¹⁷ငါအမှန်အကန်ဆိုသည်ကား၊ ထိုသူတို့သည် မိမိတို့အကျိုးကို ခံရကြ၏။

¹⁸that thou be not seen of men to fast, but of thy Father who is in secret: and thy Father, who seeth in secret, shall recompense thee.

¹⁸သင်သည်အစာရှောင်သောအခါ အစာရှောင်သည်ကိုလူများတို့ရှေ့မှာမထင်ရှားစေဘဲ၊ မထင်ရှားသော အရပ်၌ရှိတော်မူသော သင်တို့အဘရှေ့တော်၌သာထင်ရှားစေခြင်းငှါ၊ ခေါင်းကိုလိမ်းကျံလော့။ မျက်နှာကို လည်းသစ်လော့။ မထင်ရှားသောအရာကိုမြင်တော်မူသော သင်တို့အဘသည် အကျိုးကို ထင်ရှားစွာပေးတော် မူလတံ့။

¹⁹Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon the earth, where moth and rust consume, and where thieves break through and steal:

¹⁹သံချေး၊ ပိုးရွဖျက်ဆီး၍ သူခိုးထွင်းဖောက်ခိုးယူရာ မြေကြီးပေါ်မှာ ဘဏ္ဍာကို မဆည်းဖူးကြနှင့်။

²⁰but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth consume, and where thieves do not break through nor steal:

²⁰သံချေး၊ ပိုးရွ မဖျက်ဆီး၍ သူခိုးမထွင်းမဖောက် မခိုးမယူရာ ကောင်းကင်ဘုံ၌ ဘဏ္ဍာကိုဆည်းဖူး ကြလော့။

²¹for where thy treasure is, there will thy heart be also.

²¹အကြောင်းမူကား၊ အကြင်အရပ်၌ သင်တို့၏ဘဏ္ဍာရှိ၏။ ထိုအရပ်သို့ သင်တို့၏ စိတ်နှလုံးရောက် တတ်၏။

²²The lamp of the body is the eye: if therefore thine eye be single, thy whole body shall be full of light.

²²မျက်စိကား ကိုယ်၏ ဆီမီးဖြစ်၏။ ထိုကြောင့် မျက်စိကြည်လင်လျှင် တကိုယ်လုံးလင်းလိမ့်မည်။

²³But if thine eye be evil, thy whole body shall be full of darkness. If therefore the light that is in thee be darkness, how great is the darkness!

²³မျက်စိမြှေးရှက်လျှင် တကိုယ်လုံးမိုက်လိမ့်မည်။ သင်၏ အလင်းသော်ကား၊ မှောင်မိုက်ဖြစ်လျှင် ထို အမိုက်သည် အလွန်မိုက်စွတကား။

²⁴No man can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.

²⁴အဘယ်သူမျှ သခင်နှစ်ဦးအစေကို မခံနိုင်။ သခင်တဦးကိုမုန်း၍ တဦးကိုချစ်မည်။ သခင်တဦးကို မှီခို၍ တဦးကို မခန့်မညားပြုမည်။ သင်တို့သည် ဘုရားသခင်၏အစေကို၎င်း၊ လောကီစည်းစိမ်၏အစေကို၎င်း မခံနိုင်ကြ။

²⁵Therefore I say unto you, be not anxious for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than the food, and the body than the raiment?

²⁵ထိုကြောင့် ငါဆိုသည်ကား၊ အဘယ်သို့ စားသောက်ရမည်ဟု အသက်အဘို့မစိုးရိမ်ကြနှင့်။ အဘယ်သို့ ဝတ်ရမည်ဟု ကိုယ်အဘို့မစိုးရိမ်ကြနှင့်။ အစာထက် အသက်မြတ်သည်မဟုတ်လော။ အဝတ်ထက် ကိုယ်မြတ် သည်မဟုတ်လော။

²⁶Behold the birds of the heaven, that they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; and your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are not ye of much more value then they?

²⁶မိုဃ်းကောင်းကင်၌ ကျင်လည်သော ငှက်များကို ကြည့်ရှုဆင်ခြင်ကြလော့။ ထိုငှက်တို့သည် မျိုးစေ့ကို မစိုက်မကြဲ၊ စပါးကိုမရိတ်၊ ကျီ၌မစုမသွင်း။ သို့သော်လည်း ကောင်းကင်ဘုံ၌ရှိတော်မူသော သင်တို့အဘသည် သူတို့ကို ကျွေးမွေးတော်မူ၏။ ထိုငှက်တို့ထက် သင်တို့သည် အလွန်မြတ်သည်မဟုတ်လော။

²⁷And which of you by being anxious can add one cubit unto the measure of his life?

²⁷အဘယ်သူသည် စိုးရိမ်ခြင်းအားဖြင့် မိမိအသက်တာကို တတောင်ခန့်မျှ တိုးပွားစေနိုင်သနည်း။

²⁸And why are ye anxious concerning raiment? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they toil not, neither do they spin:

²⁸အဝတ်အဘို့၌ အဘယ်ကြောင့်စိုးရိမ်ရသနည်း။ တောနှင်းပင်တို့သည် အဘယ်သို့သောအားဖြင့် ကြီးပွားသည်ကို ဆင်ခြင်အောက်မေ့ကြလော့။ ထိုအပင်တို့သည် အလုပ်လည်းမလုပ်၊ ချည်ဖြစ်စေခြင်းငှါ မငင်မဝင့်။

²⁹yet I say unto you, that even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.

²⁹သို့သော်လည်း ဘုန်းကြီးသော ရှောလမုန်မင်းကြီး၏အဝတ်သည် ထိုအပင်တပင်မျှ၏ အဝတ်ကို မမှီဟု ငါဆို၏။

³⁰But if God doth so clothe the grass of the field, which to-day is, and to-morrow is cast into the oven, [shall he] not much more [clothe] you, O ye of little faith?

³⁰ယုံကြည်အားနည်းသော သူတို့၊ ယနေ့ အသက်ရှင်လျက် နက်ဖြန် မီးဖိုထဲသို့ရောက်သော တောမြက် ပင်ကို ဘုရားသခင်သည် ထိုသို့သောအဝတ်နှင့် ဖုံးလွှမ်းတော်မူလျှင်၊ ထိုမျှမက သင်တို့ကိုအဝတ်နှင့် ဖုံးလွှမ်း တော်မူမည် မဟုတ်လော။

³¹Be not therefore anxious, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed?

³¹ထိုကြောင့် အဘယ်သို့ စားသောက်ရအံ့နည်း။ အဘယ်သို့ ဝတ်ရအံ့နည်းဟူ၍မစိုးရိမ်ကြနှင့်။ ထို အရာများကို သာသနာပလူတို့သည် ရှာဖွေတတ်ကြ၏။

³²For after all these things do the Gentiles seek; for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things.

³²ထိုအရာများကို သင်တို့သည် အသုံးလိုကြောင်းကို ကောင်းကင်ဘုံ၌ရှိတော်မူသော သင်တို့အဘသည် သိတော်မူ၏။

³³But seek ye first his kingdom, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.

³³ဘုရားသခင်၏ နိုင်ငံတော်နှင့်ဖြောင့်မတ်ခြင်းတရားတော်ကို ရှေ့ဦးစွာရှာကြလော့။ နောက်မှ ထိုအရာ များကို ထပ်၍ပေးတော်မူလတံ့။

³⁴Be not therefore anxious for the morrow: for the morrow will be anxious for itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.

³⁴ထို့ကြောင့် နက်ဖြန်အဘို့ မစိုးရိမ်ကြနှင့်။ နက်ဖြန်နေ့သည် မိမိအဘို့စိုးရိမ်လိမ့်မည်။ ယခုနေ့၌ရှိသော မကောင်းမသင့်သောအရာသည် ယခုနေ့ဘို့ လောက်ပေ၏။
