¹He that separateth himself seeketh [his own] desire, And rageth against all sound wisdom.

¹သူတပါးများနှင့် မရောနှောသောသူသည် မိမိ စေတနာ အလိုရှိသည်အတိုင်း ရှာဖွေ၍၊ ပညာရတနာ အမျိုးမျိုးကို စူးစမ်းမွှေနှောက်တတ်၏။

²A fool hath no delight in understanding, But only that his heart may reveal itself.

²မိုက်သောသူမူကား၊ မိမိစိတ်သဘောကို ပြစရာ အခွင့်မှတပါး၊ အခြားသောအကြောင်းကြောင့် ဥာဏ် ပညာ၌ မပျော်မွေ့တတ်။

³When the wicked cometh, there cometh also contempt, And with ignominy [cometh] reproach.

³မတရားသောသူလာသောအခါ၊ မထီမဲ့မြင်ပြု ခြင်းကို ခံရ၏။ ဂုဏ်အသရေပျက်သောအခါ၊ ကဲ့ရဲ့ခြင်း ကိုလည်း ခံရ၏။

⁴The words of a man's mouth are [as] deep waters; The wellspring of wisdom is [as] a flowing brook.

⁴နှုတ်ထွက်သောစကားသည် နက်သောရေကဲ့သို့ ၎င်း၊ ပညာစမ်းရေတွင်းသည် ရေစီးသောမြစ်ကဲ့သို့၎င်း ဖြစ်၏။

⁵To respect the person of the wicked is not good, [Nor] to turn aside the righteous in judgment.

⁵တရားတွေ့ရာအမှု၌ ဖြောင့်မတ်သောသူကို ရှုံးစေခြင်းငှါ၊ မတရားသော သူ၏မျက်နှာကို မထောက် ကောင်း။

⁶A fool's lips enter into contention, And his mouth calleth for stripes.

⁶မိုက်သောသူ၏နှုတ်ခမ်းတို့သည် ရန်တွေ့ တတ်၏။ သူ၏နှုတ်သည်လည်း အပြစ်ဒဏ်ကို တောင်း တတ်၏။

⁷A fool's mouth is his destruction, And his lips are the snare of his soul.

⁷မိုက်သောသူ၏နှုတ်သည် ပျက်စီးရာအကြောင်း၊ နှုတ်ခမ်းတို့သည်လည်း မိမိအသက်ကို ကျော့မိရာ အကြောင်းဖြစ်၏။

⁸The words of a whisperer are as dainty morsels, And they go down into the innermost parts.

⁸ကုန်းတိုက်သောသူ၏စကားသည် မြိန်သော ခဲဘွယ်စားဘွယ်ကဲ့သို့ဖြစ်၍၊ ဝမ်းအတွင်းသို့ဝင်တတ်၏။

⁹He also that is slack in his work Is brother to him that is a destroyer.

⁹အလုပ်လုပ်သောအခါ ပျင်းရိသောသူသည်၊ မိမိဥစ္စာကို အချည်းနှီးကုန်စေသော သူနှင့်ညီအစ်ကို တော်ပေ၏။

¹⁰The name of Jehovah is a strong tower; The righteous runneth into it, and is safe.

¹⁰ထာဝရဘုရား၏နာမတော်သည် ခိုင်ခံ့သော ရဲတိုက်ဖြစ်၍၊ ဖြောင့်မတ်သောသူတို့သည် ပြေးဝင်သဖြင့်၊ လုံခြုံစွာနေရကြ၏။

¹¹The rich man's wealth is his strong city, And as a high wall in his own imagination.

¹¹ငွေရတတ်သောသူက၊ ငါ့စည်းစိမ်သည် ခိုင်ခံ့ သောမြို့ဖြစ်၏။ မြင့်သောမြို့ရိုးနှင့်တူသည်ဟု ထင်တတ် ၏။

¹²Before destruction the heart of man is haughty; And before honor [goeth] humility.

¹²ပျက်စီးခြင်းအရင်၌လူသည် စိတ်မြင့်ခြင်း၏ နေရာ၊ ဂုဏ်အသရေ အရင်၌နှိမ့်ချခြင်း၏နေရာရှိ၏။

¹³He that giveth answer before he heareth, It is folly and shame unto him.

¹³အကျိုးအကြောင်းကို မစစ်မှီ၊ အမှုစီရင်သော သူသည်မိုက်သော အပြစ်၊ အရှက်ကွဲရသောအပြစ်ရှိ၏။

¹⁴The spirit of a man will sustain his infirmity; But a broken spirit who can bear?

¹⁴လူ၏စိတ်ဝိညာဉ်သည် မိမိနာခြင်းဝေဒနာကို ခံနိုင်၏။ ကြေကွဲသောစိတ်ကိုကား၊ အဘယ်သူသည်းခံ နိုင်သနည်း။

¹⁵The heart of the prudent getteth knowledge; And the ear of the wise seeketh knowledge.

¹⁵သမ္မာသတိရှိသောသူ၏ စိတ်နှလုံးသည် ပညာ အတတ်ကို သိုထားတက်၏။ ပညာရှိသော သူ၏နားသည် လည်း၊ ပညာစကားကို ရှာတတ်၏။

¹⁶A man's gift maketh room for him, And bringeth him before great men.

¹⁶လူ၌ပါသော လက်ဆောင်အားဖြင့်၊ လမ်းရှင်း လင်း၍၊ လူကြီးထံသို့ ဝင်ရသောအခွင့်ရှိတတ်၏။

¹⁷He that pleadeth his cause first [seemeth] just; But his neighbor cometh and searcheth him out.

¹⁷ကိုယ်အမှုကို အဦးစောင့်၍ပြောသောသူသည် ဖြောင့်မတ်ရာသို့ ရောက်သော်လည်း၊ အိမ်နီးချင်းလာ၍ စစ်ကြောတတ်၏။

¹⁸The lot causeth contentions to cease, And parteth between the mighty.

¹⁸စာရေးတံပြုခြင်းအားဖြင့် အငြင်းအခုံငြိမ်း၍၊ အားကြီးသော သူတို့အမှုကို ဆုံးဖြတ်တတ်၏။

¹⁹A brother offended [is harder to be won] than a strong city; And [such] contentions are like the bars of a castle.

¹⁹အငြိုးထားသောညီအစ်ကိုသည် ခိုင်ခံ့သောမြို့ ထက် သာ၍ခက်၏။ ညီအစ်ကို ရန်တွေ့ခြင်းအမှုသည် ရဲတိုက်တံခါးကျင်ကဲ့သို့ ဖြစ်၏။

²⁰A man's belly shall be filled with the fruit of his mouth; With the increase of his lips shall he be satisfied.

²⁰လူသည်မိမိနှုတ်၏အသီးနှင့်ဝမ်းပြည့်ရ၏။ မိမိနှုတ်ခမ်းတို့၏ စီးပွါးနှင့်ဝရ၏။

²¹Death and life are in the power of the tongue; And they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.

²¹လျှာသည်အသက်သေခြင်းနှင့် ရှင်ခြင်းကို အစိုးရ ၏။ လျှာကို နှစ်သက်သောသူသည်လည်း၊ လျှာ၏အသီးကို စားရ၏။

²²Whoso findeth a wife findeth a good thing, And obtaineth favor of Jehovah.

²²မယားကိုရသောသူသည် ကောင်းသောအရာကို ရ၍၊ ထာဝရဘုရား၏ကျေးဇူးတော်ကို ခံရ၏။

²³The poor useth entreaties; But the rich answereth roughly.

²³ဆင်းရဲသောသူသည် တောင်းပန်တတ်၏။ ငွေရ တတ်သောသူမူကား၊ ကြမ်းတမ်းစွာ ပြန်ပြောတတ်၏။

²⁴He that maketh many friends [doeth it] to his own destruction; But there is a friend that sticketh closer than a brother.

²⁴အပေါင်းအဘော်များသောသူသည် အကျိုး နည်းရှိတတ်၏။ မိတ်ဆွေမူကား၊ ညီအစ်ကိုစွဲကပ်သည် ထက် သာ၍ စွဲကပ်တတ်၏။
