1A Song of Ascents; of David. If it had not been Jehovah who was on our side, Let Israel now say,
1ထာဝရဘုရားသည် ငါတို့ဘက်မှာ ရှိတော် မမူလျှင်ဟူသော စကားနှင့် ချီ၍၊ ဣသရေလအမျိုးဆိုရ သောစကား ဟူမူကား၊
2If it had not been Jehovah who was on our side, When men rose up against us;
2ထာဝရဘုရားသည် ငါတို့ဘက်မှာ ရှိတော် မမူလျှင်၊ လူတို့သည် ငါတို့ရန်ဘက်၌ နေကြသောအခါ၊
3Then they had swallowed us up alive, When their wrath was kindled against us;
3အမျက်ထွက်၍ ငါတို့ကို အသက်နှင့်တကွ မျိုကြပြီတကား။
4Then the waters had overwhelmed us, The stream had gone over our soul;
4ထိုအခါ ငါတို့ကို ရေသည်၊ လွှမ်းမိုး၍ စီးသော ရေသည် ငါတို့ဝိညာဉ်အပေါ်မှာ ကျော်သွားပြီ တကား။
5Then the proud waters had gone over our soul.
5စော်ကားသော ရေတို့သည် ငါတို့အသက် ဝိညာဉ်အပေါ်မှာ ကျော်သွားကြပြီတကား။
6Blessed be Jehovah, Who hath not given us as a prey to their teeth.
6သူတို့သွားနှင့် ကိုက်ခဲရာဘို့ ငါတို့ကို အပ်တော် မမူသော ထာဝရဘုရားသည် မင်္ဂလာရှိတော်မူစေ သတည်း။
7Our soul is escaped as a bird out of the snare of the fowlers: The snare is broken, and we are escaped.
7ငှက်သည် မုဆိုးတို့၏ ကျော့ကွင်းထဲက လွတ် သကဲ့သို့၊ ငါတို့အသက်သည် လွတ်လျက်ရှိ၏။ ကျော့ကွင်း ပြတ်၍ ငါတို့သည် လွတ်ကြပြီ။
8Our help is in the name of Jehovah, Who made heaven and earth.
8ကောင်းကင်နှင့် မြေကြီးကို ဖန်ဆင်းတော် မူသော ထာဝရဘုရား၏ နာမတော်အားဖြင့်၊ ငါတို့သည် မစခြင်းကျေးဇူးကို ခံရကြသတည်း။
