¹Maschil of Asaph. Give ear, O my people, to my law: Incline your ears to the words of my mouth.

¹ငါ၏လူများတို့၊ ငါ့တရားကို နာကြလော့။ ငါမြွက်သော စကားကို နားထောင်ကြလော့။

²I will open my mouth in a parable; I will utter dark sayings of old,

²ပုံစကားကို ငါမြွက်ဆို၍၊ ရှေးကာလ၏ နက်နဲ သော အရာများကို ဘော်ပြပေအံ့။

³Which we have heard and known, And our fathers have told us.

³ဘိုးဘေးတို့သည် ပြော၍ ငါတို့သည် ကြားသိရ သော ထိုအရာများကို၊

⁴We will not hide them from their children, Telling to the generation to come the praises of Jehovah, And his strength, and his wondrous works that he hath done.

⁴သားမြေးတို့မှ မဝှက်မထား။ ထာဝရဘုရား၏ ဂုဏ်ကျေးဇူးတော်နှင့် တန်ခိုးတော်ကို၎င်း၊ ပြုတော်မူ သော အံ့ဩဘွယ်အမှုတို့ကို၎င်း၊ ဖြစ်လတံ့သောသူတို့အား ဘော်ပြကြမည်။

⁵For he established a testimony in Jacob, And appointed a law in Israel, Which he commanded our fathers, That they should make them known to their children;

⁵အကြောင်းမူကား၊ ယာကုပ်အမျိုး၌ သက်သေ တရားကိုစီရင်၍၊ ဣသရေလအမျိုး၌ ပညတ်တရားကို ထားတော်မူ၏။

⁶That the generation to come might know [them], even the children that should be born; Who should arise and tell [them] to their children,

⁶သဘောမဖြောင့်၊

⁷That they might set their hope in God, And not forget the works of God, But keep his commandments,

⁷ဘုရားသခင်၌ စိတ်ဝိညာဉ် အမြဲမဆည်းကပ် သောအမျိုး၊

⁸And might not be as their fathers, A stubborn and rebellious generation, A generation that set not their heart aright, And whose spirit was not stedfast with God.

⁸ငြင်းဆန်၍ ပုန်ကန်တတ်အမျိုးတည်းဟူသော ဘိုးဘေးတို့ကဲ့သို့ သားမြေးတို့သည် မဖြစ်၊ ဘုရားသခင် အမှုတော်တို့ကို မမေ့၊ ဘုရားသခင်ကို ယုံကြည်ကိုးစား၍၊ ထိုတရားတို့ကို ဘိုးဘေးတို့သည် သားတို့အား ပြသ၍၊ ဖြစ်လတံ့သော အမျိုးတည်းဟူသော၊ ဘွားမြင်လတံ့သော သားတို့သည် သိနားလည်၍၊ နောက်တဖန် မြေးမြစ်တို့ အား ပြသကြမည်အကြောင်း ပညတ်ထားတော်မူပြီ။

⁹The children of Ephraim, being armed and carrying bows, Turned back in the day of battle.

⁹ဧဖရိမ် အမျိုးသားတို့သည် လေးလက်နက်ကို စွဲကိုင်သော်လည်း၊ စစ်တိုက်သောအခါ နောက်သို့ လှည့်ကြပါသည်တကား။

¹⁰They kept not the covenant of God, And refused to walk in his law;

¹⁰ဘုရားသခင်၏ သစ္စာတော်ကို မစောင့်။ တရားတော်လမ်း၌ သွားခြင်းငှါ အလိုမရှိကြ။

¹¹And they forgat his doings, And his wondrous works that he had showed them.

¹¹အမှုတော်တို့ကို၎င်း၊ ပြတော်မူသောအံ့ဩဘွယ် တို့ကို၎င်း မေ့လျော့ကြ၏။

¹²Marvellous things did he in the sight of their fathers, In the land of Egypt, in the field of Zoan.

¹²အဲဂုတ္တုပြည်၊ ဇောနအရပ်တွင် သူတို့အဘများ မျက်မှောက်၌ အံ့ဘွယ်သော အမှုတို့ကို ပြုတော်မူ၏။

¹³He clave the sea, and caused them to pass through; And he made the waters to stand as a heap.

¹³ပင်လယ်ကိုခွဲ၍ သူတို့ကိုရှောက်သွားစေတော် မူ၏။ ရေများကို စုပုံ၍ ထားတော်မူ၏။

¹⁴In the day-time also he led them with a cloud, And all the night with a light of fire.

¹⁴နေ့အချိန်၌ကား၊ မိုဃ်းတိမ်ဖြင့်၎င်း၊ ညဉ့်အချိန်၌ကားတညဉ့်လုံးမီးအလင်းဖြင့်၎င်း သူတို့ကို လမ်းပြတော်မူ၏။

¹⁵He clave rocks in the wilderness, And gave them drink abundantly as out of the depths.

¹⁵တော၌ ကျောက်တို့ကိုဖေါက်၍၊ ပင်လယ်ရေ ကဲ့သို့ များစွာသော ရေကို သူတို့အား တိုက်တော်မူ၏။

¹⁶He brought streams also out of the rock, And caused waters to run down like rivers.

¹⁶ကျောက်ထဲကစီးသော ရေကိုထွက်စေ၍၊ မြစ်ရေ ကဲ့သို့ရေများကို စီးစေတော်မူ၏။

¹⁷Yet went they on still to sin against him, To rebel against the Most High in the desert.

¹⁷ထိုသူတို့မူကား၊ အမြင့်ဆုံးသော ဘုရားကို တော၌ပုန်ကန်သောအားဖြင့် တိုး၍ပြစ်မှားကြ၏။

¹⁸And they tempted God in their heart By asking food according to their desire.

¹⁸မိမိတို့အလိုအလျောက် အစာကိုတောင်း၍ စိတ် နှလုံးထဲမှာ ဘုရားသခင်ကို စုံစမ်းကြ၏။

¹⁹Yea, they spake against God; They said, Can God prepare a table in the wilderness?

¹⁹ဘုရားသခင်သည် တော၌စားပွဲကို ပြင်ဆင် နိုင်သလော။

²⁰Behold, he smote the rock, so that waters gushed out, And streams overflowed; Can he give bread also? Will he provide flesh for his people?

²⁰ကြည့်ကြလော့။ ကျောက်ကို ရိုက်တော်မူသဖြင့်၊ ရေထွက်၍ မြစ်ရေကဲ့သို့ စီးလေ၏။ မုန့်ကိုလည်း ပေးနိုင် သလော။ မိမိလူတို့အဘို့ အမဲသားကိုပြင်ဆင်နိုင်သလော ဟု ဘုရားသခင်ကို ဆန့်ကျင်ဘက်ပြုလျက် ပြောဆိုကြ၏။

²¹Therefore Jehovah heard, and was wroth; And a fire was kindled against Jacob, And anger also went up against Israel;

²¹ထိုစကားကို ထာဝရဘုရားသည် ကြား၍ အမျက်ထွက်တော်မူ၏။ ယာကုပ်အမျိုး၌ မီးလောင်၍၊ ဣသရေလအမျိုး၌ ဒေါသမီးတက်လေ၏။

²²Because they believed not in God, And trusted not in his salvation.

²²အကြောင်းမူကား၊ အထက်မိုဃ်းတမ်တို့ကို မှာထားလျက်၊ ကောင်းကင်တံခါးတို့ကို ဖွင့်၍၊ သူတို့ စားစရာဘို့ မန္နကို မိုဃ်းရွာစေသဖြင့်၊ ကောင်းကင် ဆန် စပါးကို ပေးတော်မူသည်ဖြစ်၍၊ ထိုသူအပေါင်းတို့သည် ကြီးမြတ်သော သူတို့၏ အစာကိုသုံးဆောင်၍၊ ဝပြောစွာ စားကြမည် အကြောင်းပြုတော်မူသော်လည်း၊ သူတို့သည် ဘုရားသခင်ကို မယုံကြည်။ ကယ်တင်တော်မူခြင်း ကျေးဇူးကို မကိုးစားဘဲ နေကြ၏။

²³Yet he commanded the skies above, And opened the doors of heaven;

²⁶မိုဃ်းကောင်းကင်၌ အရှေ့လေကို ပယ်၍၊ အားကြီးသောတောင် လေကို ဆောင်ခဲ့သဖြင့်၊

²⁴And he rained down manna upon them to eat, And gave them food from heaven.

²⁷သူတို့အပေါ်သို့ အမဲသားကို မြေမှုန့်နှင့်အမျှ ပျံတက်သောငှက်တို့ကို သမုဒ္ဒရာသဲလုံးနှင့်အမျှ၊ မိုဃ်းရွာ စေလျက်၊

²⁵Man did eat the bread of the mighty: He sent them food to the full.

²⁸သူတို့တပ်ချ၍၊ နေရာအရပ်ပတ်လည်၌ ကျစေ တော်မူ၏။

²⁶He caused the east wind to blow in the heavens; And by his power he guided the south wind.

²⁹ထိုသို့ သူတို့ အလိုရှိသည်အတိုင်း ပေးတော် မူသဖြင့်၊ သူတို့သည် ဝပြောစွာ စားရကြ၏။

²⁷He rained flesh also upon them as the dust, And winged birds as the sand of the seas:

³⁰သူတို့ တပ်မက်သောအစာကိုမရောင့်ရဲမှီ စားကြစဉ်တွင်၊

²⁸And he let it fall in the midst of their camp, Round about their habitations.

³¹ဘုရားသခင်၏အမျက်တော်သည် သက်ရောက် သဖြင့်၊ ကျန်းမာသောသူတို့ကို ကွပ်မျက်၍၊ ဣသရေလ လူပျိုတို့ကို လှဲချတော်မူ၏။

²⁹So they did eat, and were well filled; And he gave them their own desire.

³²ထိုအမှုအလုံးစုံတို့နှင့် ဣသရေလလူတို့သည် တွေ့ကြုံရသော်လည်း၊ အံ့ဘွယ်သော အမှုတော်တို့ကြောင့် ယုံကြည်ခြင်းမရှိ။ ပြစ်မှားလျက် နေကြသေး၏။

³⁰They were not estranged from that which they desired, Their food was yet in their mouths,

³³ထိုကြောင့် သူတို့ နေ့ရက်ကာလကို အချည်းနှီး လွန်စေ၍၊ သူတို့နှစ်များကို ဘေးဥပဒ်တွင် မြှုပ်တော် မူ၏။

³¹When the anger of God went up against them, And slew of the fattest of them, And smote down the young men of Israel.

³⁴သူတို့ကို ကွပ်မျက်တော်မူသောအခါ ကိုယ်တော် ကို ရှာကြ၏။ ပြန်လာ၍ ကိုယ်တော်ကို လိုက်ရှာကြ၏။

³²For all this they sinned still, And believed not in his wondrous works.

³⁵ဘုရားသခင်သည် သူတို့၏ကျောက်၊ အမြင့်ဆုံး သော ဘုရားသည် သူတို့ကို ကယ်တင်သော အရှင်ဖြစ် တော်မူသည်ကို ထိုအခါ သတိရကြ၏။

³³Therefore their days did he consume in vanity, And their years in terror.

³⁶သို့သော်လည်း၊ ကိုယ်တော်ကိုနှုတ်ဖြင့် ချော့မော့ ၍၊ လျှာဖြင့်လည်း မုသာစကားကို လျှောက်ဆိုကြ၏။

³⁴When he slew them, then they inquired after him; And they returned and sought God earnestly.

³⁷သူတို့စိတ်သဘောမူကား၊ ရှေ့တော်၌ မဖြောင့်၊ သစ္စာတော်ကို မစောင့်ဘဲနေကြ၏။

³⁵And they remembered that God was their rock, And the Most High God their redeemer.

³⁸ကိုယ်တော်မူကား၊ ကရုဏာစိတ်ရှိ၍ သူတို့ကို မဖျက်ဆီးဘဲ အပြစ်လွှတ်တော်မူ၏။ ကြိမ်ဖန်များစွာ စိတ်တော်ပြေ၍၊ အမျက်တော် ကိုနှိုးဆော်တော်မမူ။

³⁶But they flattered him with their mouth, And lied unto him with their tongue.

³⁹သူတို့သည် အသားဖြစ်ကြောင်းကို၎င်း၊ စုတေ့၍ နောက်တဖန် မလာတတ်သော ဝိညာဉ်ဖြစ်ကြောင်းကို ၎င်း အောက်မေ့တော်မူ၏။

³⁷For their heart was not right with him, Neither were they faithful in his covenant.

⁴⁰သူတို့သည် ကိုယ်တော်ကို တော၌ပုန်ကန်၍၊ လူဆိတ်ညံရာ အရပ်၌ စိတ်တော်နာဘွယ်သော အကြောင်းကို ကြိမ်ဖန်များစွာ ပြုကြပါသည်တကား။

³⁸But he, being merciful, forgave [their] iniquity, and destroyed [them] not: Yea, many a time turned he his anger away, And did not stir up all his wrath.

⁴¹ဘုရားသခင်ကို အဖန်ဖန်စုံစမ်း၍ ဣသရေလ အမျိုး၌ သန့်ရှင်းတော်မူသော ဘုရားကို ဆန့်ကျင်ဘက် ပြုကြပါသည်တကား။

³⁹And he remembered that they were but flesh, A wind that passeth away, and cometh not again.

⁴²တန်ခိုးတော်ကို၎င်း၊ ဒုက္ခထဲက ကယ်လွှတ်တော် မူသော နေ့ရက်ကာလကို၎င်း မအောက်မေ့ကြ။

⁴⁰How oft did they rebel against him in the wilderness, And grieve him in the desert!

⁴³အဲဂုတ္တုပြည်၌ လက္ခဏာသက်သေတော်တို့ကို၎င်း၊ ဇောနအရပ်၌ အံ့ဘွယ်သော အမှုတို့ကို၎င်း ပြုတော်မူ၏။

⁴¹And they turned again and tempted God, And provoked the Holy One of Israel.

⁴⁴ထိုပြည်သားတို့သည် ရေမသောက်ရမည် အကြောင်း၊ သူတို့ မြစ်ရေ၊ စမ်းရေများကို သွေးဖြစ် စေတော်မူ၏။

⁴²They remember not his hand, Nor the day when he redeemed them from the adversary;

⁴⁵သူတို့ကို ကိုက်စားတတ်သောယင်ရဲတို့ကို၎င်း၊ ဖျက်ဆီးတတ်သော ဘားတို့ကို၎င်း စေလွှတ်တော်မူ၏။

⁴³How he set his signs in Egypt, And his wonders in the field of Zoan,

⁴⁶သူတို့၏ မြေအသီးအနှံကို ခါသိလကျိုင်းတို့အား၎င်း၊ သူတို့လုပ်၍ရသောဥစ္စာကို အရာဘကျိုင်းတို့အား ၎င်း ပေးတော်မူ၏။

⁴⁴And turned their rivers into blood, And their streams, so that they could not drink.

⁴⁷သူတို့စပျစ်နွယ်ပင်များကို မိုဃ်းသီးဖြင့်၎င်း၊ သူတို့ သဖန်းပင်များကို နှင်းခဲဖြင့်၎င်း ဖျက်ဆီးတော်မူ၏။

⁴⁵He sent among them swarms of flies, which devoured them; And frogs, which destroyed them.

⁴⁸သူတို့၏ သိုးနွားများကို မိုဃ်းသီး၌၎င်း၊ ပြုစု သော တိရစ္ဆာန်များကို မီး၌၎င်း အပ်တော်မူ၏။

⁴⁶He gave also their increase unto the caterpillar, And their labor unto the locust.

⁴⁹အမျက်တော် အရှိန်အားဖြင့်သူတို့၌ ဆိုးသော တမန်တို့ကို စေလွှတ်၍ လွှမ်းမိုးခြင်း၊ ဒဏ်ခတ်ခြင်း၊ နှောင့်ရှက်ခြင်းအမှုကိုဖြစ်စေတော်မူ၏။

⁴⁷He destroyed their vines with hail, And their sycomore-trees with frost.

⁵⁰အမျက်တော်ဘို့ လမ်းကိုပြင်ဆင်တော်မူ၏။ သူတို့အသက်ကို မနှမြော၊ သေစေခြင်းငှါ ကာလနာသို့ အပ်နှံသဖြင့်၊

⁴⁸He gave over their cattle also to the hail, And their flocks to hot thunderbolts.

⁵¹အဲဂုတ္တုပြည်၌ သားဦးအပေါင်းတို့ကို၎င်း၊ ဟာမသားတို့နေရာ အရပ်၌ အထွဋ်အမြတ်များကို၎င်း ဒဏ်ခတ်တော်မူ၏။

⁴⁹He cast upon them the fierceness of his anger, Wrath, and indignation, and trouble, A band of angels of evil.

⁵²မိမိလူများကိုကား၊ သိုးကဲ့သို့ ထွက်စေ၍၊ တော၌သူတို့ကို သိုးစုကဲ့သို့ ဆောင်တော်မူ၏။

⁵⁰He made a path for his anger; He spared not their soul from death, But gave their life over to the pestilence,

⁵³ဘေးနှင့်ကင်းလွတ်အောင် ဆောင်တော်မူ သဖြင့်၊ သူတို့သည် မကြောက်ရကြ။ ရန်သူတို့ကိုကား ပင်လယ်ရေသည် လွှမ်းလေ၏။

⁵¹And smote all the first-born in Egypt, The chief of their strength in the tents of Ham.

⁵⁴သန့်ရှင်းသော ပြည်တော်စွန်းတိုင်အောင်၎င်း၊ လက်ျာလက်တော်အားဖြင့် အပိုင်ရတော်မူသော ဤတောင်သို့၎င်း၊ သူတို့ကို ပို့ဆောင်တော်မူ၏။

⁵²But he led forth his own people like sheep, And guided them in the wilderness like a flock.

⁵⁵သူတို့ရှေ့မှာလည်း၊ တပါးအမျိုးသားတို့ကို နှင် ထုတ်ပြီးလျှင်၊ ဣသရေလအမျိုးအနွယ် အသီးအသီးတို့ သည် အမွေခံရသော မြေကို တာထိုး၍ ပိုင်းခြားလျက် နေရာချတော်မူ၏။

⁵³And he led them safely, so that they feared not; But the sea overwhelmed their enemies.

⁵⁶သို့သော်လည်း၊ သူတို့သည် အမြင့်ဆုံးသော ဘုရားကို စုံစမ်း၍ ပုန်ကန်ကြ၏။ သက်သေခံတော်မူချက် များကို မစောင့်ဘဲ၊

⁵⁴And he brought them to the border of his sanctuary, To this mountain, which his right hand had gotten.

⁵⁷ဘိုးဘေးများကဲ့သို့ ဖေါက်ပြန်၍သစ္စာကို ဖျက် ကြ၏။ လိမ်တတ်သော လေကဲ့သို့ လမ်းလွဲကြ၏။

⁵⁵He drove out the nations also before them, And allotted them for an inheritance by line, And made the tribes of Israel to dwell in their tents.

⁵⁸သူတို့သည် မြင့်သော အရပ်များအားဖြင့်၊ အမျက်တော်ကို နှိုးဆော်၍၊ ရုပ်တုများအားဖြင့်လည်း စိတ်တော်ကို ချုပ်ချယ်နှောင့်ရှက်ကြ၏။

⁵⁶Yet they tempted and rebelled against the Most High God, And kept not his testimonies;

⁵⁹ဘုရားသခင်သည် ကြားသိတော်မူလျှင်၊ အမျက် တော်ထွက်၍၊ ဣသရေလအမျိုးသားတို့ကို အလွန်ရွံရှာ သဖြင့်၊

⁵⁷But turned back, and dealt treacherously like their fathers: They were turned aside like a deceitful bow.

⁶⁰ရှိလောတဲတော်တည်းဟူသော၊ လူတို့တွင် နေရာချတော်မူသော အရပ်ကိုစွန့်တော်မူ၏။

⁵⁸For they provoked him to anger with their high places, And moved him to jealousy with their graven images.

⁶¹တန်ခိုးတော်ကို သိမ်းသွားစေခြင်းငှါ၎င်း၊ ဘုန်း တော်ကို ရန်သူတို့လက်သို့ ရောက်စေခြင်းငှါ၎င်း စီရင် တော်မူ၏။

⁵⁹When God heard [this], he was wroth, And greatly abhorred Israel;

⁶²မိမိလူတို့ကိုလည်း ထားဘေး၌ အပ်၍၊ အမွေ တော်ကို အမျက်ထွက်တော်မူ၏။

⁶⁰So that he forsook the tabernacle of Shiloh, The tent which he placed among men;

⁶³လူပျိုတို့သည် မီးလောင်ခြင်းကိုခံရသော်လည်း၊ အပျိုတို့သည် မငိုကြွေးရကြ။

⁶¹And delivered his strength into captivity, And his glory into the adversary's hand.

⁶⁴ယဇ်ပုရောဟိတ်တို့သည် ထားဘေးဖြင့် ဆုံး သော်လည်း၊ မုတ်ဆိုးမတို့သည် မြည်တမ်းခြင်းကို မပြုရကြ။

⁶²He gave his people over also unto the sword, And was wroth with his inheritance.

⁶⁵ထိုအခါ ဘုရားရှင်သည် အိပ်ပျော်ပြီးသော သူ ကဲ့သို့၎င်း၊ စပျစ်ရည်ကြောင့် ငြိမ်ပြီးသောသူရဲကဲ့သို့၎င်း နိုးတော်မူ၏။

⁶³Fire devoured their young men; And their virgins had no marriage-song.

⁶⁶ရန်သူတို့ကိုဒဏ်ခတ်၍ လှန်သဖြင့်၊ အစဉ်အမြဲ အရှက်ကွဲစေတော်မူ၏။

⁶⁴Their priests fell by the sword; And their widows made no lamentation.

⁶⁷သို့ရာတွင်၊ ယောသပ်၏ တဲတော်ကို ငြင်းပယ်၍ ဧဖရိမ်အမျိုးကို ရွေးတော်မမူ။

⁶⁵Then the Lord awaked as one out of sleep, Like a mighty man that shouteth by reason of wine.

⁶⁸ယုဒအမျိုးကို၎င်း၊ ချစ်တော်မူသော ဇိအုန် တောင်ကို၎င်း ရွေးတော်မူ၏။

⁶⁶And he smote his adversaries backward: He put them to a perpetual reproach.

⁶⁹သန့်ရှင်းရာဌာနတော်ကို အထွဋ်ကဲ့သို့ တည် ဆောက်၍၊ မြေကြီးကဲ့သို့ အစဉ်မြဲစေတော်မူ၏။

⁶⁷Moreover he refused the tent of Joseph, And chose not the tribe of Ephraim,

⁷⁰ကျွန်တော်မျိုး ဒါဝိဒ်ကို သိုးခြံများထဲက ရွေးယူ တော်မူ၏။

⁶⁸But chose the tribe of Judah, The mount Zion which he loved.

⁷¹သားငယ်ရှိသော သိုးမတို့ကို ထိန်းခြင်းအမှုမှ နှုတ်၍၊ မိမိလူတည်းဟူသော ယာကုပ်အမျိုးသား၊ အမွေ တော်တည်းဟူသော ဣသရေလလူတို့ကို ကျွေးမွေးစေခြင်း ငှါ ခန့်ထားတော်မူ၏။

⁶⁹And he built his sanctuary like the heights, Like the earth which he hath established for ever.

⁷²ထိုသူသည် ဖြောင့်သောသဘောရှိသည်အတိုင်း ကျွေးမွေး၍၊ လိမ္မာသောလက်နှင့် ပို့ဆောင်လေ၏။

⁷⁰He chose David also his servant, And took him from the sheepfolds:

⁷¹From following the ewes that have their young he brought him, To be the shepherd of Jacob his people, and Israel his inheritance.

⁷²So he was their shepherd according to the integrity of his heart, And guided them by the skilfulness of his hands.
