1Then Job answered and said,
1तब अय्यूबले तिनीहरूलाई जवाफ दिएः
2No doubt but ye are the people, And wisdom shall die with you.
2“निःसन्देह तिमी सोच्छौ तिमी मात्र ज्ञानी पुरूष हौ तिमी सोच्छौ जब तिमी मर्छौ ज्ञान पनि तिमीसँगै जानेछ।
3But I have understanding as well as you; I am not inferior to you: Yea, who knoweth not such things as these?
3तर मेरो मन तिम्रो जस्तै नै छ। तिमी जतिकै होशियारी म पनि छु। कसैले पनि यो सत्यलाई देख्न सक्छ।
4I am as one that is a laughing-stock to his neighbor, I who called upon God, and he answered: The just, the perfect man is a laughing-stock.
4मेरो मित्रहरू म प्रति अब हाँसो उडाऊ। तिनीहरू भन्छन, ‘उसले परमेश्वरलाई प्रार्थना गर्यो अनि उसले आफ्नो जवाफ पायो त्यसैले यी सारा दुष्ट कुराहरू उमाथि आइलाग्यो।’ म एक असल मानिस हुँ, म निर्दोष छु। तर तिनीहरू अझ ममाथि हाँस्छन्।
5In the thought of him that is at ease there is contempt for misfortune; It is ready for them whose foot slippeth.
5दुःखमा नपरेका मानिसहरू दुःखमा पर्नेहरूमाथि हाँस्छन। जब उसको खुट्टा चिप्लिन्छ तिनीहरू उसलाई तिरस्कार गर्न तत्पर रहेका हुन्छन्।
6The tents of robbers prosper, And they that provoke God are secure; Into whose hand God bringeth [abundantly].
6तर चोरहरूको घरले तिनीहरूको टाउको दुःखाउदैन। मानिसहरू जसले परमेश्वरलाई क्रोधित पार्दछ ऊ शान्तिमा वस्दछ, अनि तिनीहरूको आफ्नो बल नै देवात हुन्।
7But ask now the beasts, and they shall teach thee; And the birds of the heavens, and they shall tell thee:
7तर पशुहरूलाई सोध, तिनीहरूले तिमीहरूलाई सिकाउने छन्। अथवा हावामा उड्ने चराहरूलाई सोध, तिनीहरूले तिमीहरूलाई भन्नेछन्।
8Or speak to the earth, and it shall teach thee; And the fishes of the sea shall declare unto thee.
8अथवा पृथ्वीसँग बोल, त्यसले तिमीलाई भन्नेछ। अथवा समुद्रका माछाले तिनीहरूको ज्ञान तिमीलाई बताउनेछ।
9Who knoweth not in all these, That the hand of Jehovah hath wrought this,
9प्रत्येकले जान्दछ कि परमेश्वरले सारा कुराहरू बनाउनु भयो।
10In whose hand is the soul of every living thing, And the breath of all mankind?
10प्रत्येक प्राणीहरू जो बाँच्दछन् अनि प्रत्येक मानिस जसको प्राण छ, सबै परमेश्वरकै शक्तिको अधीनमा छ।
11Doth not the ear try words, Even as the palate tasteth its food?
11तर जसरी जिब्रोले भोजनको स्वाद लिए जस्तै, कानहरूले जसरी शब्दहरू सुनेर आनन्द लिए जस्तै हुन्छ र?
12With aged men is wisdom, And in length of days understanding.
12हामी भन्छौ, ‘ज्ञान बूढापाकाहरूमा नै पाइन्छ लामो जीवनले बुद्धि ल्याउँछ।’
13With [God] is wisdom and might; He hath counsel and understanding.
13तर ज्ञान र पराक्रम परमेश्वरको सम्पत्ति हो। राम्रो सल्लाह र बुद्धि उहाँकै हुन्।
14Behold, he breaketh down, and it cannot be built again; He shutteth up a man, and there can be no opening.
14यदि परमेश्वरले कुनै कुरा भत्काउनु भयो भने मानिसहरूले यसलाई फेरि बनाउन सक्दैनन्। यदि परमेश्वरले कसैलाई कैदमा राख्नु भयो भने मानिसले त्यसलाई मुक्त पार्न? सक्दैनन्।
15Behold, he withholdeth the waters, and they dry up; Again, he sendeth them out, and they overturn the earth.
15यदि परमेश्वरले वर्षा रोकिदिनु भयो भने पृथ्वी सूख्खा हुनेछ। यदि परमेश्वरले वर्षालाई छोडिदिनु भयो भने त्यसले पृथ्वीमा बाढी ल्याउनेछ।
16With him is strength and wisdom; The deceived and the deceiver are his.
16परमेश्वर शक्तिशाली हुनुहुन्छ र सधैं जित्नु हुन्छ। एकजना जसले भुल गर्छ अनि एकजना जसले उसलाई धोका दिन्छ दुवै परमेश्वर कै हुन्।
17He leadeth counsellors away stripped, And judges maketh he fools.
17परमेश्वरले सल्लाहकार र उसको ज्ञान खोस्नुहुन्छ अनि मुखियाहरूलाई मूर्ख बनाउनु हुन्छ।
18He looseth the bond of kings, And he bindeth their loins with a girdle.
18राजाहरूले मानिसहरूलाई कैदमा राख्छन तर परमेश्वरले तिनीहरूलाई छुटकारा दिनुहुन्छ अनि तिनीहरूलाई शक्तिशाली बनाउनु हुन्छ।
19He leadeth priests away stripped, And overthroweth the mighty.
19उहाँले पूजाहारीहरू आफ्नो कब्जामा राख्नुहुन्छ अनि ज-जसले आफैंलाई सुरक्षित देख्छन तिनीहरूलाई पराजित पार्नुहुन्छ।
20He removeth the speech of the trusty, And taketh away the understanding of the elders.
20परमेश्वरले विश्वासी सल्लाहकारहरूलाई चुप पार्नुहुन्छ। उहाँले बूढापाकाहरूको ज्ञान खोसी लैजानुहुन्छ।
21He poureth contempt upon princes, And looseth the belt of the strong.
21परमेश्वरले मुखियाहरूलाई महत्वहीन बनाउनु हुन्छ। उहाँले शासकहरूको शक्ति खोसेर लैजानु हुन्छ।
22He uncovereth deep things out of darkness, And bringeth out to light the shadow of death.
22परमेश्वरले अन्धकारका गहिरो रहस्यहरू सम्म थाहा पाउनु हुन्छ। उहाँले त्यस्ता मृत्यु भन्दा कडा अन्धकारमा पनि प्रकाश पठाउनु हुन्छ।
23He increaseth the nations, and he destroyeth them: He enlargeth the nations, and he leadeth them captive.
23परमेश्वरले जाति-जातिहरूलाई ठूला र शक्तिशाली बनाउनुहुन्छ, अनि तिनीहरूलाई ध्वंश पार्नुहुन्छ। उहाँले जातिहरूलाई विस्तार गराउनु हुन्छ त्यसपछि त्यहाँका जनसमूहलाई छरपष्ट पार्नुहुन्छ।
24He taketh away understanding from the chiefs of the people of the earth, And causeth them to wander in a wilderness where there is no way.
24परमेश्वरले शासकहरूलाई मूर्ख बनाउनु हुन्छ। उहाँले तिनीहरूलाई जङ्गलमा उदेश्यहीन भौतारिरहेको पार्नुहुन्छ।
25They grope in the dark without light; And he maketh them to stagger like a drunken man.
25ती मुखियाहरू त्यस मानिस जस्ता हुन जो अँध्यारो बाटोहरूमा हिंडिरहेको अनुभव गर्दछ। तिनीहरू मताहा मानिस जस्ता हुन्छन जसलाई कहाँ गइरहेछु भन्ने होश हुदैन।”
