1Then answered Eliphaz the Temanite, and said,
1तेमानीबाट आएका एलीपजले जवाफ दिए;
2Can a man be profitable unto God? Surely he that is wise is profitable unto himself.
2“के परमेश्वरलाई हाम्रो सहायता चाहिन्छ? अहँ। ज्ञानी पुरूष पनि परमेश्वरलाई साँच्चि नै कामलाग्ने होइन।
3Is it any pleasure to the Almighty, that thou art righteous? Or is it gain [to him], that thou makest thy ways perfect?
3यदि तिमी धर्मी छौ भने के यसले परमेश्वरलाई मद्दत पुर्याउँछ? अहँ! यदि तिम्रो मार्गहरू सही छन् भने के सर्वशक्तिमान परमेश्वरलाई केही लाभ हुन्छ? अहँ।
4Is it for thy fear [of him] that he reproveth thee, That he entereth with thee into judgment?
4अय्यूब, किन परमेश्वरले तिमीलाई दण्ड र दोष दिनुभयो? के यो तिमी उहाँको डर बोक्छौ भनेर हो?”
5Is not thy wickedness great? Neither is there any end to thine iniquities.
5होइन, यो तिम्रो धैरे दुष्टकर्महरूको कारणले हो। अय्यूब, तिमीले कहिल्यै तिम्रो दुष्टकर्म रोकेनौ।
6For thou hast taken pledges of thy brother for nought, And stripped the naked of their clothing.
6हुन सक्छ तिमीले दाज्यू-भाइ देखि रूपियाँ पैसा ऋण लिएका छौ, अनि तिमीलाई उसले केही देओस् भनेर वाध्य गर्यौ जसले त्यो फर्काइने प्रमाण गर्यो। हुन सक्छ तिमीले गरीब मानिसबाट बन्धक राखे जस्तै लुगा लिएको थियो। हुन सक्छ कुनै कारणै बिना तिमीले त्यो गर्यौ।
7Thou hast not given water to the weary to drink, And thou hast withholden bread from the hungry.
7हुन सक्छ तिमीले ती थकित र भोकोहरूलाई पानी र भोजन दिएनौ।
8But as for the mighty man, he had the earth; And the honorable man, he dwelt in it.
8अय्यूब, तिमीसंग खेती गर्ने थुप्रै जमीनहरू छन्। अनि मानिसहरूले तिमीलाई आदर गर्छन्।
9Thou hast sent widows away empty, And the arms of the fatherless have been broken.
9हुन सक्छ तिमीले केही पनि नदिइकन विधवाहरूलाई टाढा पठा्यौ। अय्यूब, हुन सक्छ तिमीले टुहुरा-टुहुरीहरूलाई धोका दियौ।
10Therefore snares are round about thee, And sudden fear troubleth thee,
10यसकारण तिम्रो वरिपरि पासै-पासो छन् अनि नसोचेको दुःखले तिमीलाई भयभीत पार्दछ।
11Or darkness, so that thou canst not see, And abundance of waters cover thee.
11यसैले गर्दा यो अत्यन्त अन्धकार छ तिमी देख्न सक्तैनौ, अनि बाढीले तिमीलाई बगाउँछ।
12Is not God in the height of heaven? And behold the height of the stars, how high they are!
12परमेश्वर स्वर्गको उच्च तहमा बस्नुहुन्छ। हेर ताराहरू कतिमाथि छन्। परमेश्वरले उच्च ताराहरूबाट तल हेर्नु हुन्छ।
13And thou sayest, What doth God know? Can he judge through the thick darkness?
13तर अय्यूब तिमीले भन्न सक्छौ, ‘परमेश्वरले के जान्नु हुन्छ? के परमेश्वरले कालो बादलहरूबाट देख्न सक्नुहुन्छ अनि हामीलाई न्याय गर्नुहुन्छ?
14Thick clouds are a covering to him, so that he seeth not; And he walketh on the vault of heaven.
14बाक्लो बादलले उहाँलाई हामीदेखि लुकाउँछ, यसैले जब उहाँ आकाशको उच्चतम भागमा हिडनु हुन्छ माथि आकाशबाट उहाँले हामीलाई देख्नु हँदैन।’
15Wilt thou keep the old way Which wicked men have trodden?
15अय्यूब जुन बाटोमा दुष्ट मानिसहरू हिडिसकेका थिए, तिमी त्यही पुरानो बाटोमा हिंडिरहेछौ।
16Who were snatched away before their time, Whose foundation was poured out as a stream,
16ती दुष्टहरू नष्ट भए तिनीहरू मृत्युको मुखमा पुग्नु अघि नै तिनीहरूलाई बाढीले बगाएर लग्यो।
17Who said unto God, Depart from us; And, What can the Almighty do for us?
17ती मानिसहरूले परमेश्वरलाई भने, ‘हामीलाई एक्लै छाडी दिनुहोस्, सर्वशक्तिमान परमेश्वरले हामीलाई केही पनि गर्न सक्नु हुन्न।’
18Yet he filled their houses with good things: But the counsel of the wicked is far from me.
18उहाँ नै परमेश्वर, जसले आफ्ना घरहरू असल कुराहरूले भर्नु भयो। अहँ, म दुष्ट मानिसहरूका सल्लाहको पछि लाग्दिनँ।
19The righteous see it, and are glad; And the innocent laugh them to scorn,
19धर्मी मानिसहरूले तिनीहरूलाई विनाश भएको देख्छन अनि ती धर्मी मानिसहरू खुशी हुनेछन। निर्दोष मानिसहरू ती दुष्ट मानिसहरूमाथि हाँस्दछन्।
20[Saying], Surely they that did rise up against us are cut off, And the remnant of them the fire hath consumed.
20‘साँच्चि नै हाम्रा शत्रुहरू नाश भए। आगोले तिनीहरूका सम्पत्ति खरानी बनाई दियोस्।’
21Acquaint now thyself with him, and be at peace: Thereby good shall come unto thee.
21अब, अय्यूब, तिमी स्वयंलाई परमेश्वर कहाँ समर्पण गर अनि उहाँसँग शान्तिले बस। त्यसो गर, अनि तिमीले धेरै असल कुराहरू पाउँनेछौ।
22Receive, I pray thee, the law from his mouth, And lay up his words in thy heart.
22उहाँबाट शिक्षा ल्याऊ। उहाँले के भन्नुहुन्छ त्यसमा ध्यान देऊ।
23If thou return to the Almighty, thou shalt be built up, If thou put away unrighteousness far from thy tents.
23अय्यूब, सर्वशक्तिमान परमेश्वर तर्फ फर्की आऊ, अनि तिमी पुनःनर्स्थापित हुनेछौ तर, अहिले तिमीले आफ्नो घरबाट दुष्ट आत्मालाई अहिले खेदी हाल।
24And lay thou [thy] treasure in the dust, And [the gold of] Ophir among the stones of the brooks;
24सोच, तिम्रो जति सुनहरूछन तर ती धुलो हुन अति उत्तम सुन खोलाका ससाना ढुङ्गाहरू जस्ता।
25And the Almighty will be thy treasure, And precious silver unto thee.
25अनि सर्वशक्तिमान परमेश्वरलाई तिम्रो लागि मुल्यवान र तिम्रो सुन चाँदी झैं हुन देऊ।
26For then shalt thou delight thyself in the Almighty, And shalt lift up thy face unto God.
26तब सर्वशक्तिमान परमेश्वरमा तिमी आनन्दित हुन सक्छौ। तब तिमी परमेश्वरलाई माथि हेर्नैछौ।
27Thou shalt make thy prayer unto him, and he will hear thee; And thou shalt pay thy vows.
27तिमीले उहाँलाई प्रार्थना गर्नेछौ अनि उहाँले तिम्रो प्रार्थना सुन्नु हुनेछ। अनि तिमीले आफ्ना वचनहरू पूर्ण गर्नेछौ।
28Thou shalt also decree a thing, and it shall be established unto thee; And light shall shine upon thy ways.
28यदि तिमीले केही गर्छु भनेर निर्णय लिएका छौ भने त्यो सफलता पूर्वक हुनेछ अनि तिम्रो भविष्य निश्चय उज्जवल हुनेछ।
29When they cast [thee] down, thou shalt say, [There is] lifting up; And the humble person he will save.
29परमेश्वरले घमण्डी मानिसहरूलाई लज्जित पार्नुहुन्छ। तर परमेश्वरले विनम्र मानिसहरूलाई सहयोग गर्नुहुन्छ।
30He will deliver [even] him that is not innocent: Yea, he shall be delivered through the cleanness of thy hands.
30तब तिमी ती मानिसहरूलाई सहयोग गर्न सक्छौ जसले गल्ती कामहरू गर्छन्। तिमीले परमेश्वरलाई प्रार्थना गर्नेछौ अनि उहाँले ती मानिसहरूलाई क्षमा गरिदिनु हुनेछ। किन? किनभने तिमी एकदमै पवित्र हुनेछौ।”
