¹Knowest thou the time when the wild goats of the rock bring forth? [Or] canst thou mark when the hinds do calve?

¹“अय्यूब, के तिमी जान्दछौ घोरलहरू कहिले जन्मन्छन्? के तिमीले नियालेको छौ कहिले मृगले आफ्नो बच्चा ब्याउँछ?

²Canst thou number the months that they fulfil? Or knowest thou the time when they bring forth?

²के तिमी जान्दछौ कति महिनासम्म घोरले र मृगले आफ्ना पेटमा बच्चाहरू बोकी हिंडनु पर्छ? के तिमी जान्दछौ कति महिनामा तिनीहरूले ब्याउँछन्?

³They bow themselves, they bring forth their young, They cast out their pains.

³जब तिनीहरूलाई प्रसव वेदना हुन्छ तिनीहरू निहुरिन्छ र बच्चा ब्याउँछन्।

⁴Their young ones become strong, they grow up in the open field; They go forth, and return not again.

⁴ती पाठाहरू खुल्ला मैदानमा खेल्दै हुर्किन्छन्। त्यसपछि तिनीहरूले आफ्ना आमाहरू छाडदछन अनि कहिले फर्केर आउँदैनन्।

⁵Who hath sent out the wild ass free? Or who hath loosed the bonds of the swift ass,

⁵अय्यूब, कसले जङ्गली गधाहरूलाई छाडी दियो? कसले तिनीहरूका डोरीहरू खोली दियो अनि कसले तिनीहरूलाई स्वतन्त्र गरे?

⁶Whose home I have made the wilderness, And the salt land his dwelling-place?

⁶मैले ती जङ्गली गधाहरूलाई मरूभूमि घर जस्तै छोडिदिएँ। मैले तिनीहरूलाई बस्नको लागि नुन भएको ठाउँ छोडिदिंए।

⁷He scorneth the tumult of the city, Neither heareth he the shoutings of the driver.

⁷जङ्गली गधाहरू होहल्लालाई घीन गर्छ अनि कसैले पनि तिनीहरूलाई नियन्त्रण गर्न सक्तैन।

⁸The range of the mountains is his pasture, And he searcheth after every green thing.

⁸जङ्गली गधाहरू पहाड पर्वत तिर बस्छन त्यो तिनीहरूको चौउर नै हो जहाँ तिनीहरूले हरियो घाँस खोज्दछ।

⁹Will the wild-ox be content to serve thee? Or will he abide by thy crib?

⁹अय्यूब, के जङ्गली साँढेले तिम्रो सेवा गर्न राजी हुन्छ? के त्यो तिम्रो अन्न भण्डार हेरचाह गर्न राती बस्छ?

¹⁰Canst thou bind the wild-ox with his band in the furrow? Or will he harrow the valleys after thee?

¹⁰के एउटा जङ्गली साँढेले तिमीलाई गलामा डोरी बाँध्न दिन्छ ताकि तिमीले खेत जोत्न सक्छौ?

¹¹Wilt thou trust him, because his strength is great? Or wilt thou leave to him thy labor?

¹¹एउटा जङ्गली साँढे अति बलियो हुन्छ। तर तिम्रो काम गराउँनलाई त्यसमाथि विश्वास गर्न सक्छौ?

¹²Wilt thou confide in him, that he will bring home thy seed, And gather [the grain] of thy threshing-floor?

¹²के खलाबाट धन उठाई ढुकुटीमा लान त्यो आउँछ भन्ने भरोसा गर्न सक्छौ?

¹³The wings of the ostrich wave proudly; [But] are they the pinions and plumage of love?

¹³शतुरमुर्ग उत्तेजित भई आफ्ना पंखेटाहरू फरफराउँछ तर शतुमूर्गा उड्न सक्तैन। यसको पंखेटाहरू र प्वाँखहरू सारसको जस्तो हुँदैन।

¹⁴For she leaveth her eggs on the earth, And warmeth them in the dust,

¹⁴शतुरमुर्गले भूइँमा अण्डाहरू पार्दछ अनि बालुवामा न्यानो होस् भनि तिनीहरूलाई छोडिराख्छ।

¹⁵And forgetteth that the foot may crush them, Or that the wild beast may trample them.

¹⁵शतुरमूर्गले कोही त्यसको फुलहरूमाथि हिडछ अथवा कुनै पशु त्यसमाथि हिडेर फुटाई देला भनि कुनै पर्वाह नै गर्दैन।

¹⁶She dealeth hardly with her young ones, as if they were not hers: Though her labor be in vain, [she is] without fear;

¹⁶शतुरमूर्गले आफ्ना चल्लाहरूलाई आफ्नो होइन भने झैं त्याग्छे। त्यसले आफ्नो महत्वपूर्ण परिश्रमको कुनै पर्वाह नै गर्दिन।

¹⁷Because God hath deprived her of wisdom, Neither hath he imparted to her understanding.

¹⁷किन? किनभने मैले शतुरमूर्गलाई बुद्धि दिइन। शथुरमूर्ग लठेप्रो हुन्छ अनि त्यसलाई त्यस्तै लाटो बनाइदिएँ।

¹⁸What time she lifteth up herself on high, She scorneth the horse and his rider.

¹⁸तर जब शतुरमूर्ग दगुर्नलाई उठ्छे, ऊ घोडा र घोड सवारलाई तुच्छ ठान्छ, किनभने उ कुनै पनि घोडा भन्दा छिटो दर्गुछे।

¹⁹Hast thou given the horse [his] might? Hast thou clothed his neck with the quivering mane?

¹⁹अय्यूब के तिमीले घोडालाई बल दियौ? के तिमीले त्यसको घाँटीमाथि रौंहरू राख्यौ?

²⁰Hast thou made him to leap as a locust? The glory of his snorting is terrible.

²⁰के तिमीले घोडालाई सलह जस्तो उफ्रेर टाढा जाने योग्य बनायौ? घोडा जोडले हिन्‌हिनाउँछ अनि मानिसहरूलाई त्रसित पार्दछन्।

²¹He paweth in the valley, and rejoiceth in his strength: He goeth out to meet the armed men.

²¹घोडा खुशी हुन्छ किनभने त्यो बलियो छ। त्यसले आफ्नो खुट्टाले मैदानमा खोर्सिन्छ र युद्धभूमि तर्फ चाँडो दर्गुछ।

²²He mocketh at fear, and is not dismayed; Neither turneth he back from the sword.

²²घोडाले डरको हाँसो उडाउँछ। त्यो डराउँदैन्। त्यो युद्धभूमिबाट चम्पट लाउँदैन।

²³The quiver rattleth against him, The flashing spear and the javelin.

²³काँडको तरकस त्यसको छेउमा र्धररर आवाज गर्छ र त्यहाँ भाला र हतियारहरू घाममा टल्किन्छन्।

²⁴He swalloweth the ground with fierceness and rage; Neither believeth he that it is the voice of the trumpet.

²⁴घोडा एकदम उत्तेजित हुन्छ। त्यो मैदानमा चाँडो दर्गुछ। जब त्यसले बिगुल बजेको सुन्दछ त्यो रोकिन सक्तैन।

²⁵As oft as the trumpet [soundeth] he saith, Aha! And he smelleth the battle afar off, The thunder of the captains, and the shouting.

²⁵जब बिकुलको आवाज गुञ्जिन्छ घोडा कराउँछ, ‘छिटो,’ उसले टाडैबाट युद्ध सुँध्ने गर्छ। उसको कप्तानहरूले कराउँदै दिएको आदेशहरू अनि युद्धभूमिका अन्य सबै आवाजहरू सुन्दछ।

²⁶Is it by thy wisdom that the hawk soareth, (And) stretcheth her wings toward the south?

²⁶अय्यूब, के तिमीले बाजलाई पंखेटा फिंजाएर दक्षिणतर्फ उड्न सिकायौ?

²⁷Is it at thy command that the eagle mounteth up, And maketh her nest on high?

²⁷के तिमी मात्र हौ जसले गिद्धलाई आकाश माथि माथि उडन सिकायौ। के तिमीले त्यसलाई उच्च पर्वतहरूमा त्यसको गुँड बनाउन सिकायौ?

²⁸On the cliff she dwelleth, and maketh her home, Upon the point of the cliff, and the stronghold.

²⁸गिद्ध पर्वत र शिखरमा बस्दछ। चट्टान नै गिद्धको किल्ला हो।

²⁹From thence she spieth out the prey; Her eyes behold it afar off.

²⁹गिद्धले आफ्नो शिकार उच्च किल्लाबाट नियाल्दछ। गिद्धले एकदम टाढामा भएको शिकार देख्न सक्छ।

³⁰Her young ones also suck up blood: And where the slain are, there is she.

³⁰जहाँ मरेका सिनुहरू हुन्छन त्यहाँ गिद्धहरू एकत्रित हुने गर्छन। अनि बच्चाहरूले रगत चुस्दछ।”
