1Then Job answered and said,

2Oh that my vexation were but weighed, And all my calamity laid in the balances!

3For now it would be heavier than the sand of the seas: Therefore have my words been rash.
3तिमीले मेरो दुःखको अन्दाज लगाउन सक्ने थियौ। मेरो दुःख म यता समुद्रहरूमा भएका बालुवाभन्दा गह्रुँङ्ग हुनेथ्यो। यसैले मेरो वचनहरू अर्थहीन प्रतीत हुन्छ।
4For the arrows of the Almighty are within me, The poison whereof my spirit drinketh up: The terrors of God do set themselves in array against me.
4सर्वशक्तिमान परमेश्वरको काँडहरू ममाथि छन्। मेरो आत्मा ती काँडहरूदेखि विषको अनुभव गर्दछु। परमेश्वरका डरलाग्दा हतियारहरू मेरो विरूद्धमा लस्कर लागेका छन।
5Doth the wild ass bray when he hath grass? Or loweth the ox over his fodder?
5जब कुनै दुर्घटना घटेको छैन। तिम्रो शब्दहरू भन्नलाई सजिलो छ। जंगली गधाले पनि गुनासो गर्दैन। जब त्यहाँ उसलाई खान घाँस छ अनि गाईले गुनासो गर्दैन् जब त्योसँग खाद्य छ भने।
6Can that which hath no savor be eaten without salt? Or is there any taste in the white of an egg?
6नुन विनाको भोजनको स्वाद असल हुँदैन अनि अण्डाको सेतो खोस्टाको कुनै स्वाद हुँदैन।
7My soul refuseth to touch [them]; They are as loathsome food to me.
7यस प्रकारको खाद्य खान अस्वीकार गर्छु। यस्ता भोजनले मलाई अस्वास्थ पार्छ। अनि तिम्रा कुराहरू त्यस्तै छन्।
8Oh that I might have my request; And that God would grant [me] the thing that I long for!
8हाय! मैले जे मागें त्यो पाउँन सकूँ। म कामना गर्छु मैले चाहेको जे छ परमेश्वरले दिनुहुनेछ।
9Even that it would please God to crush me; That he would let loose his hand, and cut me off!
9म कामना गर्छु परमेश्वरले मलाई श्राप दिउन, केही अघि बढेर मलाई मारून्।
10And be it still my consolation, Yea, let me exult in pain that spareth not, That I have not denied the words of the Holy One.
10अनि यदि उहाँले मलाई मार्नुहुन्न भने म एउटा कुरामा आश्वासित हुनेछु। म एउटा कुरामा खुशी हुनेछु। अनेकौं पीडाहरू भए पनि मैले परमेश्वरको आज्ञा अमान्य कहिल्यै गरेको छैन।
11What is my strength, that I should wait? And what is mine end, that I should be patient?
11मेरो बल गयो यसैले मसित बाँच्ने आशा पनि छैन्। म जान्दिनँ ममाथि के दुर्घटना आइपर्नेछ। यसैले मसंग धैर्य पनि छैन।
12Is my strength the strength of stones? Or is my flesh of brass?
12म चट्टान जस्तो बलियो छैन। मेरो मासु काँसको जस्तो धातुबाट बनेको होइन।
13Is it not that I have no help in me, And that wisdom is driven quite from me?
13म सँग स्वयंलाई सहयोग गर्ने क्षमता पनि अब छैन। किन? किनभने मबाट सफलता जति लगेर गयो।
14To him that is ready to faint kindness [should be showed] from his friend; Even to him that forsaketh the fear of the Almighty.
14कुनै मानिस यदि संकटहरूमा छ भने उसको साथी उसको निम्ति कृपालु हुनपर्छ। यदि उसका साथी सर्वशक्तिमान परमेश्वरदेखि विमुख भए पनि कुनै मानिस आफ्नो साथीको लागि उद्धार हुनुपर्छ।
15My brethren have dealt deceitfully as a brook, As the channel of brooks that pass away;
15तर तिमी, मेरो दाज्यू-भाइहरू, उद्धार भएनौ। म तिमीहरूमाथि आश्रित हुन सक्तिन। तिमीहरू त्यस्ता खोलाहरू जस्तै हौ जुन कहिले काहीं मात्र बहन्छ अनि अरू बेला बहँदैन। तिमीहरू त्यस्ता खोला हौ जो पोखिन्छन्।
16Which are black by reason of the ice, [And] wherein the snow hideth itself:
16जब तिनीहरू बरफले जम्छन् अनि जहाँ हिउँ लुकाएर राखिएको हुन्छ।
17What time they wax warm, they vanish; When it is hot, they are consumed out of their place.
17अनि जब ऋतु गर्मी र सूक्खा हुन्छ, पानी बहन रोकिन्छ। अनि खोलाहरू सुक्तछन्।
18The caravans [that travel] by the way of them turn aside; They go up into the waste, and perish.
18व्यापारीहरू बाङ्गो टेडो मोडहरू पछ्याउँदै जंङ्गलमा हराउँदछ। तिनीहरू विनाशतिर उक्लन्छन् र नष्ट हुन्छन्।
19The caravans of Tema looked, The companies of Sheba waited for them.
19तेमाका व्यापारीहरू पानी खोज्न आउँछन्। शेबाबाट यात्रीहरू पानी पाउँने पूर्ण आशामा आउँछन्।
20They were put to shame because they had hoped; They came thither, and were confounded.
20तिनीहरू पानी पाइन्छ भनेर आशा गर्छन तर तिनीहरू निराश हुँन्छन्।
21For now ye are nothing; Ye see a terror, and are afraid.
21अहिले तिमीहरू त्यस्ता खोलाहरू जस्ता हौ। तिमीहरूले मेरो संकटहरू देखेर भयभीत छौ।
22Did I say, Give unto me? Or, Offer a present for me of your substance?
22के मैले तिमीहरूलाई सहायता मागे? होइन। तर तिमीहरूले मलाई आफ्ना सल्लाहहरू खुल्ला रूपमा दियौ।
23Or, Deliver me from the adversary's hand? Or, Redeem me from the hand of the oppressors?
23के मैले तिमीहरूलाई भने, ‘शत्रुहरूबाट मलाई जोगाऊ? निष्ठुर मानिसहरूबाट मलाई जोगाऊ?’
24Teach me, and I will hold my peace; And cause me to understand wherein I have erred.
24यसैले अब, मलाई शिक्षा देऊ अनि म चूपचाप रहनेछु। मलाई देखाऊ कि मैले के त्यस्तो गल्ती गरे?
25How forcible are words of uprightness! But your reproof, what doth it reprove?
25ईमान्दार वचनहरू शक्तिशाली हुन्छन। तर तिम्रो तर्कहरूको के मतलब छ।
26Do ye think to reprove words, Seeing that the speeches of one that is desperate are as wind?
26जब एकजना निराशापूर्ण मानिसको शब्दहरू बतास झैं हुन्छन् भने के तिमीहरू मेरा कुराहरूमा बहस गर्न सक्छौं भनी सोच्छौं?
27Yea, ye would cast [lots] upon the fatherless, And make merchandise of your friend.
27तिमीहरूले च्याँखेसम्म थापेर ती चीजहरू जित्न खोज्दैछौ जुन ती बाबु हीन नाबालकहरूका हुन्। तिमीहरूले आफ्नै साथीहरूलाई बेच्नेछौ।
28Now therefore be pleased to look upon me; For surely I shall not lie to your face.
28तर अब, दया गरेर मेरो अनुहारलाई ध्यान देऊ। म तिमीहरू प्रति झूटो हुने छैन।
29Return, I pray you, let there be no injustice; Yea, return again, my cause is righteous.
29यसैले अब, आफ्ना विचारहरू परिवर्तन गर बेईमानी नगर सोचाइ परिवर्तन गर। मैले कुनै गल्ती काम गरेको छैन।
30Is there injustice on my tongue? Cannot my taste discern mischievous things?
30म झूटो बोलिरहेको छैन। अनि म झूटोबाट सही के हो जान्दछु।”
