¹And again I lifted up mine eyes, and saw, and, behold, there came four chariots out from between two mountains; and the mountains were mountains of brass.

¹Så løftet jeg atter mine øine op og fikk se fire vogner som kom frem mellem to fjell, og fjellene var kobberfjell.

²In the first chariot were red horses; and in the second chariot black horses;

²For den første vogn var det røde hester, og for den annen vogn var det sorte hester,

³and in the third chariot white horses; and in the fourth chariot grizzled strong horses.

³og for den tredje vogn var det hvite hester, og for den fjerde vogn flekkete, sterke hester.

⁴Then I answered and said unto the angel that talked with me, What are these, my lord?

⁴Og jeg tok til orde og sa til engelen som talte med mig: Hvad er dette, herre?

⁵And the angel answered and said unto me, These are the four winds of heaven, which go forth from standing before the Lord of all the earth.

⁵Engelen svarte: Dette er himmelens fire vinder, som nu farer ut efterat de har fremstilt sig for all jordens herre.

⁶[The chariot] wherein are the black horses goeth forth toward the north country; and the white went forth after them; and the grizzled went forth toward the south country.

⁶Vognen med de sorte hester for drog ut mot Nordens land, og de hvite drog ut efter dem, og de flekkete drog ut mot Sydens land.

⁷And the strong went forth, and sought to go that they might walk to and fro through the earth: and he said, Get you hence, walk to and fro through the earth. So they walked to and fro through the earth.

⁷Og de sterkeste* drog ut, og da de ønsket å få dra omkring på jorden**, sa han: Gå, dra omkring på jorden! Og de drog omkring på jorden. / {* de røde; SKR 6, 2.} / {** SKR 1, 10.}

⁸Then cried he to me, and spake unto me, saying, Behold, they that go toward the north country have quieted my spirit in the north country.

⁸Så ropte han høit på mig og sa til mig: Se, de som drar ut mot Nordens land, de stiller min vrede på Nordens land.

⁹And the word of Jehovah came unto me, saying,

⁹Og Herrens ord kom til mig, og det lød så:

¹⁰Take of them of the captivity, even of Heldai, of Tobijah, and of Jedaiah; and come thou the same day, and go into the house of Josiah the son of Zephaniah, whither they are come from Babylon;

¹⁰Ta imot gavene fra de bortførte, fra Heldai, Tobia og Jedaja - gå selv på denne dag inn i Josias', Sefanias' sønns hus - for dit er de kommet fra Babel -

¹¹yea, take [of them] silver and gold, and make crowns, and set them upon the head of Joshua the son of Jehozadak, the high priest;

¹¹og ta imot sølv og gull av dem og gjør kroner og sett dem på Josvas, Jehosadaks sønns, yppersteprestens hode!

¹²and speak unto him, saying, Thus speaketh Jehovah of hosts, saying, Behold, the man whose name is the Branch: and he shall grow up out of his place; and he shall build the temple of Jehovah;

¹²Og si til ham: Så sier Herren, hærskarenes Gud: Se, det skal komme en mann som heter Spire*; han skal spire frem av sin rot, og han skal bygge Herrens tempel. / {* SKR 3, 8.}

¹³even he shall build the temple of Jehovah; and he shall bear the glory, and shall sit and rule upon his throne; and he shall be a priest upon his throne; and the counsel of peace shall be between them both.

¹³Ja, han skal bygge Herrens tempel, og han skal vinne herlighet* og sitte og herske på sin kongetrone, og han skal være prest der han sitter på sin trone, og freds råd skal det være mellem dem begge. / {* JES 9, 6.}

¹⁴And the crowns shall be to Helem, and to Tobijah, and to Jedaiah, and to Hen the son of Zephaniah, for a memorial in the temple of Jehovah.

¹⁴Og kronene skal være til et minne i Herrens tempel om Helem og Tobia og Jedaja og Hen, Sefanias sønn.

¹⁵And they that are far off shall come and build in the temple of Jehovah; and ye shall know that Jehovah of hosts hath sent me unto you. And [this] shall come to pass, if ye will diligently obey the voice of Jehovah your God.

¹⁵Og langt borte fra skal de komme og bygge på Herrens tempel, og I skal kjenne at Herren, hærskarenes Gud, har sendt mig til eder; og dette skal skje dersom I hører på Herrens, eders Guds røst.
