1But a certain man named Ananias, with Sapphira his wife, sold a possession,
1Himahleh, mi khat a min Anania, a ji Sapphira toh a om ua; Ananiain a neih uh a juaka, a ji theihin a man a khen a imta a;
2and kept back [part] of the price, his wife also being privy to it, and brought a certain part, and laid it at the apostles' feet.
2huan, a khen a hontawia, sawltakte khebul ah a koih a.
3But Peter said, Ananias, why hath Satan filled thy heart to lie to the Holy Spirit, and to keep back [part] of the price of the land?
3Himahleh, Peterin, Kha Siangthou khem ding leh gamman a khen imdingin bangdia Setanin na lungtang hihkhauh ahia?
4While it remained, did it not remain thine own? and after it was sold, was it not in thy power? How is it that thou hast conceived this thing in thy heart? thou has not lied unto men, but unto God.
4A om laiteng nanga ahi gige ka hia? na juak nungin leng na thuthuin a om ka hia? bangachia hiai thute na lungtanga ngaihtuah? Mihing khem na hi kei, Pathian khem na hi jaw, a chi a.
5And Ananias hearing these words fell down and gave up the ghost: and great fear came upon all that heard it.
5Huan, Ananiain huai thu a jak takin a puka, a sita a; huan, a za peuhin a lau mahmahta uh.
6And the young men arose and wrapped him round, and they carried him out and buried him.
6Huan, tangval hon a thou ua, a tuam ua, a jawng khia ua, a vuita uh.
7And it was about the space of three hours after, when his wife, not knowing what was done, came in.
7Huan, dakkal thum ding hiam nung in, thil omdan theilouin a ji a hongluta.
8And Peter answered unto her, Tell me whether ye sold the land for so much. And she said, Yea, for so much.
8Huan, Peterin a kiangah, honhilh in, gam, hiai zah phetin maw na juak uh? a chi a. Huan, aman, He, hiai zah phetin ahi, a chi a.
9But Peter [said] unto her, How is it that ye have agreed together to try the Spirit of the Lord? behold, the feet of them that have buried thy husband are at the door, and they shall carry thee out.
9Huan, Peterin a kiangah, bangachia Toupa Kha zeet dinga kithutuak na hi ua? Ngaiin, kongkhak bul ah na pasal vuite khepek a hongomta, nang leng a honjawng khe ding uh, a chi a.
10And she fell down immediately at his feet, and gave up the ghost: and the young men came in and found her dead, and they carried her out and buried her by her husband.
10Huan, thakhatin a khe bul ah a puk paha, a sita hi; huan, tangval hon a honglut ua, amah tuh siin a hongmu ua, a jawngkhia ua, a pasal kiangah a vuita uhi.
11And great fear came upon the whole church, and upon all that heard these things.
11Huan, saptuamte tengteng leh huai thu za peuhten a lauta mahmah uhi.
12And by the hands of the apostles were many signs and wonders wrought among the people; and they were all with one accord in Solomon's porch.
12Huan, mi lakah Pathianin sawltakte khutin chiamtehna leh thillamdang tampi a hih jel hi. Huan, amaute a vek un lungsim mun khatin Solomon in lim ah a kikhawm jel uhi.
13But of the rest durst no man join himself to them: howbeit the people magnified them;
13Mi dang bel kuamah a lak uah a pang ngamta kei uh; himahleh, min amaute a phat ngal ua.
14and believers were the more added to the Lord, multitudes both of them and women;
14Huan, a gingthak hon numei leh pasal tampi takin Toupa kiangah a honbehlap tuantuan uh.
15insomuch that they even carried out the sick into the streets, and laid them on beds and couches, that, as Peter came by, at the least his shadow might overshadow some one of them.
15Huchiin mi damloute leng kongzing khawngah a lumsak ua, Peter pai kawma a lim bekin a lak ua khat bek a liah theihna ding in, a chi ua.
16And there also came together the multitudes from the cities round about Jerusalem, bring sick folk, and them that were vexed with unclean spirits: and they were healed every one.
16Huan, Jerusalem kho kim khua akipan mipite leng huai damloute dawi nin hihgimte honpiin a hongkhawm ua; huaite leng a hongdam chiatta uh.
17But the high priest rose up, and all they that were with him (which is the sect of the Sadducees), and they were filled with jealousy,
17Huan, siampu lianpen leh a lawmte tengteng a hongkisa ua, (huai a lawmte tuh Saddukai pawl ahi uh) a haza mahmah ua.
18and laid hands on the apostles, and put them in public ward.
18Sawltakte a man ua, vantang khumna ah a khumta uhi.
19But an angel of the Lord by night opened the prison doors, and brought them out, and said,
19Himahleh, janin Toupa angel khatin kongkhakte a honhonga, a pikhia a.
20Go ye, and stand and speak in the temple to the people all the words of this Life.
20Pathian biakin ah vading unla, mi kiangah hiai hinna thute vagen un, a chi a.
21And when they heard [this], they entered into the temple about daybreak, and taught. But the high priest came, and they that were with him, and called the council together, and all the senate of the children of Israel, and sent to the prison-house to have them brought.
21Huan, huai thu a jak un khovak hun laiin, Pathian biakin ah a valut ua, thu a vahilhta uh. Himahleh, Siampu Lian leh a lawmte a hong ua, vaihawmte leh Israel suante upate tengteng a sam khawm ua, sawltakte hon pi sak dingin suangkulh ah mi a sawl uhi.
22But the officers that came found them not in the prison; and they returned, and told,
22Himahleh, upate a vahoh ua, suangkulh ah lah amau a mu kei ua; huchiin a kik nawn uh.
23saying, The prison-house we found shut in all safety, and the keepers standing at the doors: but when we had opened, we found no man within.
23Suangkulh bit tak a kikhakin, a vengte leng kongkhak bulah dingin a mu ngal ua, himahleh, ka hong ua, a sungah kuamah ka mu sam kei ua, chiin a gen ua.
24Now when the captain of the temple and the chief priests heard these words, they were much perplexed concerning them whereunto this would grow.
24Huan, Pathian biakin upa leh siampu lalten, huai thute a jak un, Hiai bang, bangchi phetin a thang de aw? chiin, a thu ah a mang uh a bang petpeta.
25And there came one and told them, Behold, the men whom ye put in the prison are in the temple standing and teaching the people.
25Huan, mi khat a honga, a kiang uah, Ngai un, suang kulha na mi khumte un Pathian biakina dingin mi a hilh uh, ka chi! chiin a honggen a.
26Then went the captain with the officers, and brought them, [but] without violence; for they feared the people, lest they should be stoned.
26Huchiin upa tuh upate toh a vahoh ua vantang a kihtak jiak un, hiamgamna om louin a honpi ua, huchi hikei leh suanga den ahi kha ding uh.
27And when they had brought them, they set them before the council. And the high priest asked them,
27Huan, a honpi tun tak un, vaihawmmite maah a dingsak ua. Huan, siampu lianpenin, a kiang uah,
28saying, We strictly charged you not to teach in this name: and behold, ye have filled Jerusalem with your teaching, and intend to bring this man's blood upon us.
28Huai minin thu hilh louh ding ka honchita ua; thei un, na thuhilh un Jerusalem khua a hihdim vekta uh, hiai mipa sisan honkhuksak tum nei ve ua, chiin a sal a.
29But Peter and the apostles answered and said, We must obey God rather than men.
29Himahleh, Peter leh sawltakten, Mihing thu sangin Pathian thu i man a kiphamohjaw hi.
30The God of our fathers raised up Jesus, whom ye slew, hanging him on a tree.
30Nou singah Jesu khaikangin na hihlumua, i pipute Pathianin a kaithou nawnta ahi.
31Him did God exalt with his right hand [to be] a Prince and a Saviour, to give repentance to Israel, and remission of sins.
31Amah mah tuh Pathianin Kumpipa leh Hondampa a om dingin a taklam ah a hihlianta a, Israelte khelhna pan kiheisak ding leh ngaidam dingin.
32And we are witnesses of these things; and [so is] the Holy Spirit, whom God hath given to them that obey him.
32Huai thute kou a theihpihte ka hi ua; Kha Siangthou, Pathianin a thu jui peuhte kianga a piak tak, a theipa ahi nawn lai, a chi ua, a dawng ua.
33But they, when they heard this, were cut to the heart, and minded to slay them.
33Huan, amau, huai thu a jak un a sin uh a thak mahmaha, hihlup a tumta uh.
34But there stood up one in the council, a Pharisee, named Gamaliel, a doctor of the law, had in honor of all the people, and commanded to put the men forth a little while.
34Himahleh, vaihawmte lakah, a min Gamaliel, Pharisai, Dantheimi, mi tengteng laka minthangpi mi khat a dinga, tua mite khah takdih ding thu a pia a.
35And he said unto them, Ye men of Israel, take heed to yourselves as touching these men, what ye are about to do.
35Huan, vaihawmte kiangah, Nou Israel mite aw, hiai mite tunga na thilhih tup uh pilvang un.
36For before these days rose up Theudas, giving himself out to be somebody; to whom a number of men, about four hundred, joined themselves: who was slain; and all, as many as obeyed him, were dispersed, and came to nought.
36Tumalamin leng, Theuda, mi lian kichiin, a hongoma, huai mipa kiangah mi tampi, za li phial, a na awn ua, amah tuh hihlupin a omta a; a thu jui peuhmah a vek un a dalhjakta uh, bangmah a hita kei uhi.
37After this man rose up Judas of Galilee in the days of the enrolment, and drew away [some of the] people after him: he also perished; and all, as many as obeyed him, were scattered abroad.
37Huai mi om nungin min gelh laiin, Galili gama mi huai Juda a hongom nawna; a lamah mi khenkhat a hip nawna; himahleh amah leng a sita a, a thu jui peuhmah tuh a vek un a dalhjakta uh.
38And now I say unto you, Refrain from these men, and let them alone: for if this counsel or this work be of men, it will be overthrown:
38Huai jiakin tuin ka honhilh ahi, hiai mite khoih kei unla, amau om omin omsak un; hiai a thiltup uh leh a thilhih uh mihing akipan ahihleh a mang ding;
39but if it is of God, ye will not be able to overthrow them; lest haply ye be found even to be fighting against God.
39ahihhangin Pathian akipan ahihleh amau na hihmang theikei ding uh; huchilouin jaw Pathian dou na nahi zenzen kha ding uh, a chi a.
40And to him they agreed: and when they had called the apostles unto them, they beat them and charged them not to speak in the name of Jesus, and let them go.
40Huan, a gen tuh lem a sata ua; huchiin, sawltakte tuh a sam ua, a vua ua; a vuak khit un, Jesu mina thu gen louh ding chi bikbekin a khahta uh.
41They therefore departed from the presence of the council, rejoicing that they were counted worthy to suffer dishonor for the Name.
41Huchiin, vaihawmte laka kipan a pawtkhia ua, tua Min jiaka daina thuak taka seh ahihjiak un a kipak mahmah uhi.Huan, nitengin Pathian biakin ah leh amau in khawng bangah, Jesu tuh Kris ahi, chiin, thuhilh leh gen a tawp tuan kei uhi.
42And every day, in the temple and at home, they ceased not to teach and to preach Jesus [as] the Christ.
42Huan, nitengin Pathian biakin ah leh amau in khawng bangah, Jesu tuh Kris ahi, chiin, thuhilh leh gen a tawp tuan kei uhi.
