¹Now even a first [covenant] had ordinances of divine service, and its sanctuary, [a sanctuary] of this world.

¹Huan, thukhun masa mahin leng Pathian nasepna dan te leh mun siangthou, hiai khovel mun siangthou tuh a nei ahi.

²For there was a tabernacle prepared, the first, wherein [were] the candlestick, and the table, and the showbread; which is called the Holy place.

²Biakbuk a bawl ua, tuah masak tuh khawnvak koihna bang, dohkan bang tanghou- koihnabang omna ahi; huai tuh Mun Siangthou achi uhi.

³And after the second veil, the tabernacle which is called the Holy of holies;

³Huan, puanjak nihna khenah biakbuk, Mun Siangthoupen achih uh a oma;

⁴having a golden altar of incense, and the ark of the covenant overlaid round about with gold, wherein [was] a golden pot holding the manna, and Aaron's rod that budded, and the tables of the covenant;

⁴huailaiah dangkaeng gimlim halna bawm leh, thukhunna bawm dangkaenga luan a oma, huai thukhunna bawm tungah Manna omna dangkaeng belbang, Aron chiang sel bang, thukhunna bang a omhi;

⁵and above it cherubim of glory overshadowing the mercy-seat; of which things we cannot now speak severally.

⁵a tunglamah jahngaihna tutphah liahin, thupina Cherubte a om ua; huaite khawng tuin jaw a kim sipsip in I gen theikei ding uh.

⁶Now these things having been thus prepared, the priests go in continually into the first tabernacle, accomplishing the services;

⁶Huan huai thilte tuh huchibangabawl a nahi ua, Siamputen Pathian na semin, biakbuk tuahmasak ah a lut jel uh;

⁷but into the second the high priest alone, once in the year, not without blood, which he offereth for himself, and for the errors of the people:

⁷a zom ah tuh Siampu Lianpen kia kumtengin khatvei, sisan tawi lou louin a luta; huai tuh amah khelhna ading leh mite khelhna adingin alan jel ahi.

⁸the Holy Spirit this signifying, that the way into the holy place hath not yet been made manifest, while the first tabernacle is yet standing;

⁸Kha Siangthouin hiai a theisak: Mun Siangthoua lutna lam a kilang naitadih keia, biakbuk tuah masak tuh adin laiteng, chihpen;

⁹which [is] a figure for the time present; according to which are offered both gifts and sacrifices that cannot, as touching the conscience, make the worshipper perfect,

⁹(huai tuh tulai hun genteh na ahi). Huai bang jelin thilpiak leh kithoihnate leng a lan jel uh, a hihhangin huaiten sia leh phatheihna lam ah a bemi a hihkim theikei hi:

¹⁰[being] only (with meats and drinks and divers washings) carnal ordinances, imposed until a time of reformation.

¹⁰huai tuh (nekdingte, dawndingte, silhding tuamtuamte, toh) sa lam dante kia, bawlhoih hun ma adinga, chih ahi.

¹¹But Christ having come a high priest of the good things to come, through the greater and more perfect tabernacle, not made with hands, that is to say, not of this creation,

¹¹Himahleh, Kris bel thilhoih hongom dingte Siampu Lianpen dinga hongpaiin, biakbuk, khuta lamlouh (huai tuh hiai thilsiamte laka ahi kei chihna ahi),

¹²nor yet through the blood of goats and calves, but through his own blood, entered in once for all into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption.

¹²thupi leh kim jaw pai tanin, eia dinga khantawna tatkhiakna mu khinin kelte leh bawngnoute sisan jiak hilouin, amah sisan jiak jawin, Mun Siangthouah setden dingin khatveiin ana lutta ngala.

¹³For if the blood of goats and bulls, and the ashes of a heifer sprinkling them that have been defiled, sanctify unto the cleanness of the flesh:

¹³Kel leh bawngpate sisan leh, bawngla vu, minin tunga thehin bawn sa siang khopa a hihsiangthou ngalleh,

¹⁴how much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without blemish unto God, cleanse your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?

¹⁴Kris, khantawna Kha jiaka gensiatbeia Pathian kianga kilan sisanin, Pathian hing nasem dingin na sia leh pha theihna uh thilhih sisa lakah nak hihsiangthou natel inchia!

¹⁵And for this cause he is the mediator of a new covenant, that a death having taken place for the redemption of the transgressions that were under the first covenant, they that have been called may receive the promise of the eternal inheritance.

¹⁵Huan, hiaijiakin, amah tuh thukhunthak palai ahi, thukhun masa nuaia tatleknate laka kipan tatna dinga mi a na sihtak jiakin sapten tuh khantawna gouluah ding thuchiam a tang thei ding uhi.

¹⁶For where a testament is, there must of necessity be the death of him that made it.

¹⁶Thusiah omna peuhah a siahmi sihna leng a om teitei ding ahi ngala.

¹⁷For a testament is of force where there hath been death: for it doth never avail while he that made it liveth.

¹⁷Mi a sih nungun thusiahin thua neingal naka, a siahmi adamlai teng bel thu himhim a neikei hi.

¹⁸Wherefore even the first [covenant] hath not been dedicated without blood.

¹⁸Huchiin thukhun masa leng sisan louin a hihkip kei uhi,

¹⁹For when every commandment had been spoken by Moses unto all the people according to the law, he took the blood of the calves and the goats, with water and scarlet wool and hyssop, and sprinkled both the book itself and all the people,

¹⁹Dan thupiak peuhmah tuh Mosiin mipi tengteng kianga a phuan nungin, bawngnoute leh kelte sisan tuh, tui toh, samulkhau sandup toh, husop toh a la a, laibu ngei leh mi tengteng leng a theha,

²⁰saying, This is the blood of the covenant which God commanded to you-ward.

²⁰Huai tuh Pathianin na kiang ua a piak kip thukhun sisan ahi, chiin.

²¹Moreover the tabernacle and all the vessels of the ministry he sprinkled in like manner with the blood.

²¹Huailou leng, biakbuk leh nasepna van tengteng huchibang mahin sisanin a theh samta hi.

²²And according to the law, I may almost say, all things are cleansed with blood, and apart from shedding of blood there is no remission.

²²Huan, dan thuin bangkim phial sisana hihsiangthouin a om a, sisan suahlouin ngaihdamna himhim a om kei hi.

²³It was necessary therefore that the copies of the things in the heavens should be cleansed with these; but the heavenly things themselves with better sacrifices than these.

²³Huchiin, vana thil om batpihte tuh huaitea hihsiangthoua om ding him ahi, van thil taktakte bel huaisanga kithoihna hoihjawtea hihsiangthoua om ding ahi.

²⁴For Christ entered not into a holy place made with hands, like in pattern to the true; but into heaven itself, now to appear before the face of God for us:

²⁴Kris tuh khuta lam mun siangthou, a tak batpih ah a lut ngal kei a; tunah Pathian maah I sik ua ding dingin van ngei ah, a lut jaw ta hi.

²⁵nor yet that he should offer himself often, as the high priest entereth into the holy place year by year with blood not his own;

²⁵Himahleh, Siampu Lianpen kum tenga amah sisan lou, sisan tawi kawma Mun Siangthoua lut jel bangin, amah bel amah kilan dingina lut sam kei;

²⁶else must he often have suffered since the foundation of the world: but now once at the end of the ages hath he been manifested to put away sin by the sacrifice of himself.

²⁶huchi hita kei leh, leilung piantung akipan tam veipi a thuakta ding hi; himahleh, tulai hun tawp ah kithoihna dinga kizang tawmin khelhna hih mangna dingin khatvei in setden din amah hong langta ahi.

²⁷And inasmuch as it is appointed unto men once to die, and after this [cometh] judgment;

²⁷Huan, mihinga dingin khatvei sih seh ahi, huai nungin vaihawmna aom ding.huchi bangmahin Kris leng, mitampi khelhnate paipih dinga khatvei lata omkhinin, hotdamna mu dinga, amah nangakte kiangah, khelhna panglouin nihveina ah a honglang nawn ding hi.

²⁸so Christ also, having been once offered to bear the sins of many, shall appear a second time, apart from sin, to them that wait for him, unto salvation.

²⁸huchi bangmahin Kris leng, mitampi khelhnate paipih dinga khatvei lata omkhinin, hotdamna mu dinga, amah nangakte kiangah, khelhna panglouin nihveina ah a honglang nawn ding hi.
