¹And he began to speak unto them in parables. A man planted a vineyard, and set a hedge about it, and digged a pit for the winepress, and built a tower, and let it out to husbandmen, and went into another country.

¹Huan, gentehna thuin a kiang uah a genta a, Kuahiamin grephuan a bawla, a kim huangin a um a, grep sukna ding khuk a tou a, in sang a lama, loukhoumite kiangah khohloh dingin a pia a, gam dangah a hohta-a.

²And at the season he sent to the husbandmen a servant, that he might receive from the husbandmen of the fruits of the vineyard.

²Huan, a loh hunin huan-a a gah tuh a tansik amau kianga kipana la dingin loukhohlohmite kiangah sikha khat a sawla.

³And they took him, and beat him, and sent him away empty.

³Huan, huai mi tuh a na man ua, a vua ua, khut vuakin a pai sak nawnta ua.

⁴And again he sent unto them another servant; and him they wounded in the head, and handled shamefully.

⁴Huan, sikha dang a kiang uah a sawl nawna; huai mi leng a lu ah a na hihliam ua, zumhuaipiin a na bawl ua.

⁵And he sent another; and him they killed: and many others; beating some, and killing some.

⁵Huan, sikha dang a sawl nawn jela; huai mi tuh a na hihlum ua. Sikha dang tampi leng-khenkhat a na vua ua, khenkhat a na hihlum ua.

⁶He had yet one, a beloved son: he sent him last unto them, saying, They will reverence my son.

⁶Huan, khat, tapa deihtak, a nei lai a; Ka tapa jaw a zah ding uh, chiin, amah a nanungpenin a kiang uah a sawla.

⁷But those husbandmen said among themselves, This is the heir; come, let us kill him, and the inheritance shall be ours.

⁷Himahleh, huai loukhohlohmiten, Hiai mi gouluahdingpa ahi; i that ding uh aw: huchiin a gou luahding eia ahi mai ding, a kichi ua.

⁸And they took him, and killed him, and cast him forth out of the vineyard.

⁸Huchiin, amah a na man ua, a hihlum ua, grep huan apat a lawn kheta ua.

⁹What therefore will the lord of the vineyard do? he will come and destroy the husbandmen, and will give the vineyard unto others.

⁹Huaijiakin, grephuan neipan bangchin a honhih dia? Loukhohloh mite a honhih mangthang dia; huan tuh midangte a pe ding.

¹⁰Have ye not read even this scripture: The stone which the builders rejected, The same was made the head of the corner;

¹⁰Hiai laisiangthou na sim kei ua hia? In lam mite suang deihlouhpen, huai mahmah a ninga suang phatuampen a honghita hi.

¹¹This was from the Lord, And it is marvellous in our eyes?

¹¹Huai tuh Toupa hih ahi, i mit muh uah a lamdang hi, chih, a chi a.

¹²And they sought to lay hold on him; and they feared the multitude; for they perceived that he spake the parable against them: and they left him, and went away.

¹²Huan, amah mat a tumta ua; huai gentehna thu lah amau dema a gen ahi chih a thei ngal ua. Huchiin amah tuh a nusia ua, a paimangta uh.

¹³And they send unto him certain of the Pharisees and of the Herodians, that they might catch him in talk.

¹³Huan, a thu gena mattheihna dingin Pharisaite leh Herod pawla mi kuate hiam a kiangah a sawl ua.

¹⁴And when they were come, they say unto him, Teacher, we know that thou art true, and carest not for any one; for thou regardest not the person of men, but of a truth teachest the way of God: Is it lawful to give tribute unto Caesar, or not?

¹⁴Huchiin, amau a hongtun un, a kiangah, Sinsakpa, mi diktat na hi a, deihsak tuan kuamah na neikei chih ka thei uh, kuamah khentuam neilouin, chihtak ngialin Pathian lam thu na hilh jel ahi: Kaisar kianga leiman liau a siang hia siang lou?

¹⁵Shall we give, or shall we not give? But he, knowing their hypocrisy, said unto them, Why make ye trial of me? bring me a denarius, that I may see it.

¹⁵Pe ding ka hi ua, pe lou ding? a chi ua. Aman bel a lepchiahdan uh theiin, a kiang uah, Bangdia hon zeet na hi ua? Makhai hontawi un, ka na en ding, a chi a.

¹⁶And they brought it. And he saith unto them, Whose is this image and superscription? And they said unto him, Caesar's.

¹⁶A hontawi ua. Huan aman a kiang uah, Hiai kua lim leh kua min ahia? a chi a.

¹⁷And Jesus said unto them, Render unto Caesar the things that are Caesar's, and unto God the things that are God's. And they marvelled greatly at him.

¹⁷Huan, amau, Kaisar-a, a chi ua. Huan, Jesun a kiang uah, Kaisar thilte Kaisar kiangah pia unla, Pathian thilte Pathian kiangah peta unla, a chi a. Huchiin, lamdang a sa mahmah uh.

¹⁸And there come unto him Sadducees, who say that there is no resurrection; and they asked him, saying,

¹⁸Huan, Saddukaite, thohnawnna a om kei chite, a kiangah a hongua;

¹⁹Teacher, Moses wrote unto us, If a man's brother die, and leave a wife behind him, and leave no child, that his brother should take his wife, and raise up seed unto his brother.

¹⁹A kiangah, Sinsakpa, Mosiin, kuapeuh a unaupan ta neilou in a ji sihsan taleh, a unaupan a ji luahin a unaupa dingin chi a suahsak ding, chiin, a hongelh sak ahi.

²⁰There were seven brethren: and the first took a wife, and dying left no seed;

²⁰A hi, sal sagih a om ua; a upa penin ji a neia, chi suah louin a si a.

²¹and the second took her, and died, leaving no seed behind him; and the third likewise:

²²and the seven left no seed. Last of all the woman also died.

²²Huchiin, sal sagihte tuh chi himhim suah louin a si jel uh. A nanungpenin numei leng a sita hi.

²³In the resurrection whose wife shall she be of them? for the seven had her to wife.

²³Thohnawn hunin a kuapen ji ahi dia le? sagih ten jiin a nei chiat ngal ua, chin a dong ua.

²⁴Jesus said unto them, Is it not for this cause that ye err, that ye know not the scriptures, nor the power of God?

²⁴Jesun a kiang uah, Hiai jiak hilou hia, na theihkhelh nak uh, Laisiangthou leh Pathian thilhihtheihna na theih louh jiak un?

²⁵For when they shall rise from the dead, they neither marry, nor are given in marriage; but are as angels in heaven.

²⁵Misi lak apat a thoh nawnun ji leh pasala kinei lou ding ahi ua, vana angelte bang hizota ding uh ahi ngalua.

²⁶But as touching the dead, that they are raised; have ye not read in the book of Moses, in [the place concerning] the Bush, how God spake unto him, saying, I [am] the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob?

²⁶Huam, misite kaihthoha a om ding thu u lah Mosi laibua, Loubuk ah, Pathianin, Kei Abraham Pathian, Isaak Pathian, Jakob Pathian ka hi, chia, amah a houpihdan na sim kei ua hia?

²⁷He is not the God of the dead, but of the living: ye do greatly err.

²⁸And one of the scribes came, and heard them questioning together, and knowing that he had answered them well, asked him, What commandment is the first of all?

²⁸Huan, laigelhmite laka mi khat a honga, a kisel uh a na ngaikhia a, Jesun amaute thutakin a dawng chih a theia, a kiang ah, Thupiak tengteng ah koi ahia thupipen? chiin, a donga.

²⁹Jesus answered, The first is, Hear, O Israel; The Lord our God, the Lord is one:

²⁹Jesun, A thupipen tuh hiai ahi: Israel aw, ngai dih uh, Toupa i Pathian uh Toupa khat kia ahi a;

³⁰and thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength.

³⁰Toupa na Pathian tuh na lungtang tengtengin, na kha tengtengin, na lungsim tengtengin leh na hatna tengtengin na it ding ahi, chih.

³¹The second is this, Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself. There is none other commandment greater than these.

³¹A zom tuh hiai ahi, Nangmah na kiit bangin na vengte leng na it ding ahi, chih. Hiai khawng sanga thupiak thupijaw himhim a om kei, chiin, a dawnga.

³²And the scribe said unto him, Of a truth, Teacher, thou hast well said that he is one; and there is none other but he:

³²Huan, laigelhmin a kiangah, Hi-na ngei e, Sinsakpa amah jaw khatkia ahi a, amah lou jaw kua dangmah a om kei uh,

³³and to love him with all the heart, and with all the understanding, and with all the strength, and to love his neighbor as himself, is much more than all whole burnt-offerings and sacrifices.

³³Amah tuh lungtang tengtenga, theihsiamna tengtenga, hatna tengtenga ita, eimah i kiit banga vengte it tuh pum hal thilpiak leh kithoihna tengteng sangin a hoihzo petmah chih, na gendik hilhial ngei, a chi a.

³⁴And when Jesus saw that he answered discreetly, he said unto him, Thou art not far from the kingdom of God. And no man after that durst ask him any question.

³⁴Huan, piltakin a dawng chih Jesun a theihin, a kiang ah, Pathian gam na gamlat kei ve, a chi a. Huai nungsang tuh kuamahin thu himhim a dong ngamta kei uh.

³⁵And Jesus answered and said, as he taught in the temple, How say the scribes that the Christ is the son of David?

³⁵Huan, Jesun Pathian biakina thu a hilh laiin, amaute a houpiha, Kris tuh David tapa ahi chih laigelhmiten bangchidana gen uh ahia?

³⁶David himself said in the Holy Spirit, The Lord said unto my Lord, Sit thou on my right hand, Till I make thine enemies the footstool of thy feet.

³⁶David ngeiin, Kha Siangthouin, Toupan, ka Toupa kiangah, Na melmate na khepek ngaknaa ka bawl masiah ka taklamah tuin, a chi a, a chi a.

³⁷David himself calleth him Lord; and whence is he his son? And the common people heard him gladly.

³⁸And in his teaching he said, Beware of the scribes, who desire to walk in long robes, and [to have] salutations in the marketplaces,

³⁹and chief seats in the synagogues, and chief places at feasts:

³⁹Kikhopna ina tutphah hoih pen bang, ankuangluina-a mun hoihpen bang, a nuamtuam nak uh;

⁴⁰they that devour widows' houses, and for a pretence make long prayers; these shall receive greater condemnation.

⁴⁰meithai in a ne gai ua, tangpi khemna dingin sawtpipi a thum uh; huaiten siamlouhtanna lianjaw a tang ding uh hi, a chi a.

⁴¹And he sat down over against the treasury, and beheld how the multitude cast money into the treasury: and many that were rich cast in much.

⁴¹Huan, sum kholna jawnah a tu a; sumkholnaa mipi sum khiakdan a en a; mi hau tampi takin tampipi a khia ua.

⁴²And there came a poor widow, and she cast in two mites, which make a farthing.

⁴²Huan, meithai jawng tak a honga, dal dangka muja nih a khia a, huai tuh paihsa khat hu ahi.

⁴³And he called unto him his disciples, and said unto them, Verily I say unto you, This poor widow cast in more than all they that are casting into the treasury:

⁴³Huan, Jesun a nungjuite a sama, a kiang uah, Chihtaktakin ka honhilh ahi, Sumkholna a khe tengteng lakah hiai meithai jawng takin a khe tam pen hi.Hiaite tengtengin a neihlet ua a khia ua; aman jaw a hawmthoh laitak, a neih sun, a nuntakna ding tengteng a khe vek ahi, a chi a.

⁴⁴for they all did cast in of their superfluity; but she of her want did cast in all that she had, [even] all her living.

⁴⁴Hiaite tengtengin a neihlet ua a khia ua; aman jaw a hawmthoh laitak, a neih sun, a nuntakna ding tengteng a khe vek ahi, a chi a.
