¹For, behold, the Lord, Jehovah of hosts, doth take away from Jerusalem and from Judah stay and staff, the whole stay of bread, and the whole stay of water;

¹Вот, Господь, Господь Саваоф, отнимет у Иерусалима и у Иуды посох и трость, всякое подкрепление хлебом и всякое подкрепление водою,

²the mighty man, and the man of war; the judge, and the prophet, and the diviner, and the elder;

²храброго вождя и воина, судью и пророка, и прозорливца и старца,

³the captain of fifty, and the honorable man, and the counsellor, and the expert artificer, and the skilful enchanter.

³пятидесятника и вельможу и советника, и мудрого художника и искусного в слове.

⁴And I will give children to be their princes, and babes shall rule over them.

⁴И дам им отроков в начальники, и дети будут господствовать над ними.

⁵And the people shall be oppressed, every one by another, and every one by his neighbor: the child shall behave himself proudly against the old man, and the base against the honorable.

⁵И в народе один будет угнетаем другим, и каждый – ближним своим; юноша будет нагло превозноситься над старцем, и простолюдин над вельможею.

⁶When a man shall take hold of his brother in the house of his father, [saying], Thou hast clothing, be thou our ruler, and let this ruin be under thy hand;

⁶Тогда ухватится человек за брата своего, в семействе отца своего, и скажет : у тебя есть одежда, будь нашим вождем, и да будут эти развалины под рукою твоею.

⁷in that day shall he lift up [his voice], saying, I will not be a healer; for in my house is neither bread nor clothing: ye shall not make me ruler of the people.

⁷А он с клятвою скажет: не могу исцелить ран общества ; и в моем доме нетни хлеба, ни одежды; не делайте меня вождем народа.

⁸For Jerusalem is ruined, and Judah is fallen; because their tongue and their doings are against Jehovah, to provoke the eyes of his glory.

⁸Так рушился Иерусалим, и пал Иуда, потому что язык их и дела их –против Господа, оскорбительны для очей славы Его.

⁹The show of their countenance doth witness against them; and they declare their sin as Sodom, they hide it not. Woe unto their soul! for they have done evil unto themselves.

⁹Выражение лиц их свидетельствует против них, и о грехе своем они рассказывают открыто,как Содомляне, не скрывают: горе душе их! ибо сами на себя навлекают зло.

¹⁰Say ye of the righteous, that [it shall be] well [with him]; for they shall eat the fruit of their doings.

¹⁰Скажите праведнику, что благо ему , ибо он будет вкушать плоды дел своих;

¹¹Woe unto the wicked! [it shall be] ill [with him]; for what his hands have done shall be done unto him.

¹¹а беззаконнику – горе, ибо будет ему возмездие за дела рук его.

¹²As for my people, children are their oppressors, and women rule over them. O my people, they that lead thee cause thee to err, and destroy the way of thy paths.

¹²Притеснители народа Моего – дети, и женщины господствуют над ним.Народ Мой! вожди твои вводят тебя в заблуждение и путь стезей твоих испортили.

¹³Jehovah standeth up to contend, and standeth to judge the peoples.

¹³Восстал Господь на суд – и стоит, чтобы судитьнароды.

¹⁴Jehovah will enter into judgment with the elders of his people, and the princes thereof: It is ye that have eaten up the vineyard; the spoil of the poor is in your houses:

¹⁴Господь вступает в суд со старейшинами народа Своего и с князьями его: вы опустошили виноградник; награбленное у бедного – в ваших домах;

¹⁵what mean ye that ye crush my people, and grind the face of the poor? saith the Lord, Jehovah of hosts.

¹⁵что вы тесните народ Мой и угнетаете бедных? говорит Господь, Господь Саваоф.

¹⁶Moreover Jehovah said, Because the daughters of Zion are haughty, and walk with outstretched necks and wanton eyes, walking and mincing as they go, and making a tinkling with their feet;

¹⁶И сказал Господь: за то, что дочери Сиона надменны и ходят, подняв шею и обольщая взорами, и выступают величавою поступью и гремят цепочками на ногах, –

¹⁷therefore the Lord will smite with a scab the crown of the head of the daughters of Zion, and Jehovah will lay bare their secret parts.

¹⁷оголит Господь темя дочерей Сиона и обнажит Господь срамоту их;

¹⁸In that day the Lord will take away the beauty of their anklets, and the cauls, and the crescents;

¹⁸в тот день отнимет Господь красивые цепочки на ногах и звездочки, и луночки,

¹⁹the pendants, and the bracelets, and the mufflers;

¹⁹серьги, и ожерелья, и опахала, увясла и запястья, и пояса, и сосудцы с духами, и привески волшебные,

²⁰the headtires, and the ankle chains, and the sashes, and the perfume-boxes, and the amulets;

²⁰перстни и кольца в носу,

²¹the rings, and the nose-jewels;

²¹верхнюю одежду и нижнюю, и платки, и кошельки,

²²the festival robes, and the mantles, and the shawls, and the satchels;

²²светлые тонкие епанчи и повязки, и покрывала.

²³the hand-mirrors, and the fine linen, and the turbans, and the veils.

²³И будет вместо благовония зловоние, и вместо пояса будет веревка, и вместо завитых волос – плешь, и вместо широкой епанчи – узкое вретище, вместо красоты – клеймо.

²⁴And it shall come to pass, that instead of sweet spices there shall be rottenness; and instead of a girdle, a rope; and instead of well set hair, baldness; and instead of a robe, a girding of sackcloth; branding instead of beauty.

²⁴Мужи твои падут от меча, и храбрые твои – на войне.

²⁵Thy men shall fall by the sword, and thy mighty in the war.

²⁵И будут воздыхать и плакать ворота столицы ,

²⁶And her gates shall lament and mourn; and she shall be desolate and sit upon the ground.

²⁶и будет она сидеть на земле опустошенная.
