¹I am the man that hath seen affliction by the rod of his wrath.

²He hath led me and caused me to walk in darkness, and not in light.

²Он повел меня и ввел во тьму, а не во свет.

³Surely against me he turneth his hand again and again all the day.

³Так, Он обратился на меня и весь день обращает руку Свою;

⁴My flesh and my skin hath he made old; he hath broken my bones.

⁴измождил плоть мою и кожу мою, сокрушил кости мои;

⁵He hath builded against me, and compassed me with gall and travail.

⁵огородил меня и обложил горечью и тяготою;

⁶He hath made me to dwell in dark places, as those that have been long dead.

⁶посадил меня в темное место, как давно умерших;

⁷He hath walled me about, that I cannot go forth; he hath made my chain heavy.

⁷окружил меня стеною, чтобы я не вышел, отяготил оковы мои,

⁸Yea, when I cry, and call for help, he shutteth out my prayer.

⁸и когда я взывал и вопиял, задерживал молитву мою;

⁹He hath walled up my ways with hewn stone; he hath made my paths crooked.

⁹каменьями преградил дороги мои, извратил стези мои.

¹⁰He is unto me as a bear lying in wait, as a lion in secret places.

¹⁰Он стал для меня как бы медведь в засаде, как бы лев в скрытном месте;

¹¹He hath turned aside my ways, and pulled me in pieces; he hath made me desolate.

¹¹извратил пути мои и растерзал меня, привел меня в ничто;

¹²He hath bent his bow, and set me as a mark for the arrow.

¹²натянул лук Свой и поставил меня как бы целью для стрел;

¹³He hath caused the shafts of his quiver to enter into my reins.

¹³послал в почки мои стрелы из колчана Своего.

¹⁴I am become a derision to all my people, and their song all the day.

¹⁴Я стал посмешищем для всего народа моего, вседневною песнью их.

¹⁵He hath filled me with bitterness, he hath sated me with wormwood.

¹⁵Он пресытил меня горечью, напоил меня полынью.

¹⁶He hath also broken my teeth with gravel stones; he hath covered me with ashes.

¹⁶Сокрушил камнями зубы мои, покрыл меня пеплом.

¹⁷And thou hast removed my soul far off from peace; I forgat prosperity.

¹⁷И удалился мир от души моей; я забыл о благоденствии,

¹⁸And I said, My strength is perished, and mine expectation from Jehovah.

¹⁸и сказал я: погибла сила моя и надежда моя на Господа.

¹⁹Remember mine affliction and my misery, the wormwood and the gall.

¹⁹Помысли о моем страдании и бедствии моем, о полыни и желчи.

²⁰My soul hath them still in remembrance, and is bowed down within me.

²⁰Твердо помнит это душа моя и падает во мне.

²¹This I recall to my mind; therefore have I hope.

²¹Вот что я отвечаю сердцу моему и потому уповаю:

²²[It is of] Jehovah's lovingkindnesses that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not.

²²по милости Господа мы не исчезли, ибо милосердие Его не истощилось.

²³They are new every morning; great is thy faithfulness.

²³Оно обновляется каждое утро; велика верность Твоя!

²⁴Jehovah is my portion, saith my soul; therefore will I hope in him.

²⁴Господь часть моя, говорит душа моя, итак буду надеяться на Него.

²⁵Jehovah is good unto them that wait for him, to the soul that seeketh him.

²⁵Благ Господь к надеющимся на Него, к душе, ищущей Его.

²⁶It is good that a man should hope and quietly wait for the salvation of Jehovah.

²⁶Благо тому, кто терпеливо ожидает спасения от Господа.

²⁷It is good for a man that he bear the yoke in his youth.

²⁷Благо человеку, когда он несет иго в юности своей;

²⁸Let him sit alone and keep silence, because he hath laid it upon him.

²⁸сидит уединенно и молчит, ибо Он наложил его на него;

²⁹Let him put his mouth in the dust, if so be there may be hope.

²⁹полагает уста свои в прах, помышляя : „может быть, еще есть надежда";

³⁰Let him give his cheek to him that smiteth him; let him be filled full with reproach.

³⁰подставляет ланиту свою биющему его, пресыщается поношением,

³¹For the Lord will not cast off for ever.

³¹ибо не навек оставляет Господь.

³²For though he cause grief, yet will he have compassion according to the multitude of his lovingkindnesses.

³²Но послал горе, и помилует по великой благости Своей.

³³For he doth not afflict willingly, nor grieve the children of men.

³³Ибо Он не по изволению сердца Своего наказывает и огорчает сынов человеческих.

³⁴To crush under foot all the prisoners of the earth,

³⁴Но, когда попирают ногами своими всех узников земли,

³⁵To turn aside the right of a man before the face of the Most High,

³⁵когда неправедно судят человека пред лицем Всевышнего,

³⁶To subvert a man in his cause, the Lord approveth not.

³⁶когда притесняют человека в деле его: разве не видит Господь?

³⁷Who is he that saith, and it cometh to pass, when the Lord commandeth it not?

³⁷Кто это говорит: „и то бывает, чему Господь не повелел быть"?

³⁸Out of the mouth of the Most High cometh there not evil and good?

³⁸Не от уст ли Всевышнего происходит бедствие и благополучие?

³⁹Wherefore doth a living man complain, a man for the punishment of his sins?

³⁹Зачем сетует человек живущий? всякий сетуй на грехи свои.

⁴⁰Let us search and try our ways, and turn again to Jehovah.

⁴⁰Испытаем и исследуем пути свои, и обратимся к Господу.

⁴¹Let us lift up our heart with our hands unto God in the heavens.

⁴¹Вознесем сердце наше и руки к Богу, сущему на небесах:

⁴²We have transgressed and have rebelled; thou hast not pardoned.

⁴²мы отпали и упорствовали; Ты не пощадил.

⁴³Thou hast covered with anger and pursued us; thou hast slain, thou hast not pitied.

⁴³Ты покрыл Себя гневом и преследовал нас, умерщвлял, не щадил;

⁴⁴Thou hast covered thyself with a cloud, so that no prayer can pass through.

⁴⁴Ты закрыл Себя облаком, чтобы не доходила молитва наша;

⁴⁵Thou hast made us an off-scouring and refuse in the midst of the peoples.

⁴⁵сором и мерзостью Ты сделал нас среди народов.

⁴⁶All our enemies have opened their mouth wide against us.

⁴⁶Разинули на нас пасть свою все враги наши.

⁴⁷Fear and the pit are come upon us, devastation and destruction.

⁴⁷Ужас и яма, опустошение и разорение – доля наша.

⁴⁸Mine eye runneth down with streams of water, for the destruction of the daughter of my people.

⁴⁸Потоки вод изливает око мое о гибели дщери народа моего.

⁴⁹Mine eye poureth down, and ceaseth not, without any intermission,

⁴⁹Око мое изливается и не перестает, ибо нет облегчения,

⁵⁰Till Jehovah look down, and behold from heaven.

⁵⁰доколе не призрит и не увидит Господь с небес.

⁵¹Mine eye affecteth my soul, because of all the daughters of my city.

⁵¹Око мое опечаливает душу мою ради всех дщерей моего города.

⁵²They have chased me sore like a bird, they that are mine enemies without cause.

⁵²Всячески усиливались уловить меня, как птичку, враги мои, без всякой причины;

⁵³They have cut off my life in the dungeon, and have cast a stone upon me.

⁵³повергли жизнь мою в яму и закидали меня камнями.

⁵⁴Waters flowed over my head; I said, I am cut off.

⁵⁴Воды поднялись до головы моей; я сказал: „погиб я".

⁵⁵I called upon thy name, O Jehovah, out of the lowest dungeon.

⁵⁵Я призывал имя Твое, Господи, из ямы глубокой.

⁵⁶Thou heardest my voice; hide not thine ear at my breathing, at my cry.

⁵⁶Ты слышал голос мой; не закрой уха Твоего от воздыхания моего, от вопля моего.

⁵⁷Thou drewest near in the day that I called upon thee; thou saidst, Fear not.

⁵⁷Ты приближался, когда я взывал к Тебе, и говорил: „не бойся".

⁵⁸O Lord, thou hast pleaded the causes of my soul; thou hast redeemed my life.

⁵⁸Ты защищал, Господи, дело души моей; искуплял жизнь мою.

⁵⁹O Jehovah, thou hast seen my wrong; judge thou my cause.

⁵⁹Ты видишь, Господи, обиду мою; рассуди дело мое.

⁶⁰Thou hast seen all their vengeance and all their devices against me.

⁶⁰Ты видишь всю мстительность их, все замыслы их против меня.

⁶¹Thou hast heard their reproach, O Jehovah, and all their devices against me,

⁶¹Ты слышишь, Господи, ругательство их, все замыслы их против меня,

⁶²The lips of those that rose up against me, and their device against me all the day.

⁶²речи восстающих на меня и их ухищрения против меня всякий день.

⁶³Behold thou their sitting down, and their rising up; I am their song.

⁶³Воззри, сидят ли они, встают ли, я для них – песнь.

⁶⁴Thou wilt render unto them a recompense, O Jehovah, according to the work of their hands.

⁶⁴Воздай им, Господи, по делам рук их;

⁶⁵Thou wilt give them hardness of heart, thy curse unto them.

⁶⁵пошли им помрачение сердца и проклятие Твое на них;

⁶⁶Thou wilt pursue them in anger, and destroy them from under the heavens of Jehovah.

⁶⁶преследуй их, Господи, гневом, и истреби их из поднебесной.
