1Let love of the brethren continue.
1Bratská láska nech zostáva.
2Forget not to show love unto strangers: for thereby some have entertained angels unawares.
2Nezabúdajte na pohostinnosť, lebo ňou niektorí, nevediac, pohostili anjelov.
3Remember them that are in bonds, as bound with them; them that are illtreated, as being yourselves also in the body.
3Pamätajte na väzňov ako spoluuväznení, na tých, ktorí sú v trápení, jako takí, ktorí ste aj sami v tele.
4[Let] marriage [be] had in honor among all, and [let] the bed [be] undefiled: for fornicators and adulterers God will judge.
4Manželstvo nech je v úcte u všetkých a loža nepoškvrnená. A smilníkov a cudzoložníkov bude súdiť Bôh.
5Be ye free from the love of money; content with such things as ye have: for himself hath said, I will in no wise fail thee, neither will I in any wise forsake thee.
5Spôsob vašeho obcovania nech je prostý lakomstva, a majte dosť na tom, čo máte. Lebo on povedal: Nenechám ťa cele iste ani ťa neopustím,
6So that with good courage we say, The Lord is my helper; I will not fear: What shall man do unto me?
6takže môžeme smele hovoriť: Pán mi je spomocníkom, a nebudem sa báť. Čo mi urobí človek?!
7Remember them that had the rule over you, men that spake unto you the word of God; and considering the issue of their life, imitate their faith.
7Pamätajte na svojich vodcov, ktorí vám hovorili slovo Božie, a pozorujúc, aký bol ich východ, to jest koniec ich obcovania, nasledujte takú vieru.
8Jesus Christ [is] the same yesterday and to-day, [yea] and for ever.
8Ježiš Kristus ten istý včera i dnes i naveky.
9Be not carried away by divers and strange teachings: for it is good that the heart be established by grace; not by meats, wherein they that occupied themselves were not profited.
9Rôznymi a cudzími učeniami sa nedajte točiť. Lebo je dobre, aby milosťou bolo upevňované srdce, nie pokrmami, ktoré neprospely tým, ktorí sa nimi zapodievali.
10We have an altar, whereof they have no right to eat that serve the tabernacle.
10Máme oltár, z ktorého jesť nemajú práva tí, ktorí svätoslúžia stánu.
11For the bodies of those beasts whose blood is brought into the holy place by the high priest [as an offering] for sin, are burned without the camp.
11Lebo ktorých zvierat krv za hriech sa vnáša najvyšším kňazom do svätyne, tých telá sa pália vonku za táborom.
12Wherefore Jesus also, that he might sanctify the people through his own blood, suffered without the gate.
12Preto i Ježiš, aby svojou vlastnou krvou posvätil ľud, trpel vonku za bránou.
13Let us therefore go forth unto him without the camp, bearing his reproach.
13Vyjdime tedy za ním von za tábor nesúc jeho pohanenie.
14For we have not here an abiding city, but we seek after [the city] which is to come.
14Lebo tu nemáme zostávajúceho mesta, ale to budúce hľadáme.
15Through him then let us offer up a sacrifice of praise to God continually, that is, the fruit of lips which make confession to his name.
15Tedy skrze neho obetujme vždycky Bohu obeť chvály, to jest ovocie rtov, vyznávajúcich jeho meno.
16But to do good and to communicate forget not: for with such sacrifices God is well pleased.
16A na dobročinnosť a na sdielnosť nezabúdajte, lebo v takých obetiach má Bôh záľubu.
17Obey them that have the rule over you, and submit [to them]: for they watch in behalf of your souls, as they that shall give account; that they may do this with joy, and not with grief: for this [were] unprofitable for you.
17Poslúchajte svojich vodcov a ustupujte im, lebo oni bdejú za vaše duše jako takí, ktorí vydajú počet, aby to robili s radosťou a nevzdychali, lebo to by vám nebolo užitočné.
18Pray for us: for we are persuaded that we have a good conscience, desiring to live honorably in all things.
18Modlite sa za nás, lebo sme si istí toho, že máme dobré svedomie chcúc sa vo všetkom správne chovať.
19And I exhort [you] the more exceedingly to do this, that I may be restored to you the sooner.
19A ešte tým viacej prosím, žeby ste to robili, aby som vám bol skôr prinavrátený.
20Now the God of peace, who brought again from the dead the great shepherd of the sheep with the blood of an eternal covenant, [even] our Lord Jesus,
20A Bôh pokoja, ktorý vyviedol toho veľkého Pastiera oviec z mŕtvych na základe krvi večnej smluvy, nášho Pána Ježiša,
21make you perfect in every good thing to do his will, working in us that which is well-pleasing in his sight, through Jesus Christ; to whom [be] the glory for ever and ever. Amen.
21nech vás ráči učiniť dokonalými v každom skutku dobrom, aby ste činili jeho vôľu, pôsobiac vo vás to, čo je ľúbe pred jeho tvárou, skrze Ježiša Krista, ktorému sláva na veky vekov. Ameň.
22But I exhort you, brethren, bear with the word of exhortation, for I have written unto you in few words.
22Ale vás prosím, bratia, zneste slovo napomenutia, lebo i tak som vám len krátko písal.
23Know ye that our brother Timothy hath been set at liberty; with whom, if he come shortly, I will see you.
23Vedzte o našom bratovi Timoteovi, že je prepustený, s ktorým, keď prijde skoro, vás uvidím.
24Salute all them that have the rule over you, and all the saints. They of Italy salute you.
24Pozdravte všetkých svojich vodcov a všetkých svätých. Pozdravujú vás tí z Itálie.
