¹O Israel, return unto Jehovah thy God; for thou hast fallen by thine iniquity.

¹Navráťže sa, Izraelu, cele k Hospodinovi, svojmu Bohu, lebo si klesol pre svoju neprávosť.

²Take with you words, and return unto Jehovah: say unto him, Take away all iniquity, and accept that which is good: so will we render [as] bullocks [the offering of] our lips.

²Vezmite si so sebou slová pokánia a navráťte sa k Hospodinovi, povedzte mu: Odpusti všetku neprávosť a vezmi dobré, a za pokojné obeti budeme obetovať juncov, svoje rty.

³Assyria shall not save us; we will not ride upon horses; neither will we say any more to the work of our hands, [Ye are] our gods; for in thee the fatherless findeth mercy.

³Assúr nás nezachráni, nepojdeme na koňoch ani nepovieme viacej dielu svojich rúk: Náš Bôh; lebo len v tebe najde zľutovanie sirota.

⁴I will heal their backsliding, I will love them freely; for mine anger is turned away from him.

⁴Uzdravím ich odvrátenie, budem ich milovať dobrovoľne, lebo môj hnev sa obráti od neho.

⁵I will be as the dew unto Israel; he shall blossom as the lily, and cast forth his roots as Lebanon.

⁵Budem Izraelovi jako rosa, bude kvitnúť ako ľalia a zapustí svoje korene jako Libanon.

⁶His branches shall spread, and his beauty shall be as the olive-tree, and his smell as Lebanon.

⁶Jeho mládniky sa rozídu, a jeho nádhera bude jako nádhera olivy, a jeho vôňa bude jako vôňa Libanona.

⁷They that dwell under his shadow shall return; they shall revive [as] the grain, and blossom as the vine: the scent thereof shall be as the wine of Lebanon.

⁷Tí, ktorí sedia v jeho tôni, sa navrátia; oživia obilie, a sami budú kvitnúť ako vinič, ktorého pamiatka je ako pamiatka vína z Libanona.

⁸Ephraim [shall say], What have I to do any more with idols? I have answered, and will regard him: I am like a green fir-tree; from me is thy fruit found.

⁸Efraim povie: Čo ja mám ešte s modlami?! A ja vyslyším a budem pozorovať na neho. Ja som ako zelená jedľa; zo mňa sa najde tvoje ovocie.

⁹Who is wise, that he may understand these things? prudent, that he may know them? for the ways of Jehovah are right, and the just shall walk in them; but transgressors shall fall therein.

⁹Kto je múdry, nech porozumie týmto veciam, rozumný, nech ich pozná! Lebo cesty Hospodinove sú priame, a spravedliví pojdú po nich, ale priestupníci klesnú na nich.
