¹I am the true vine, and my Father is the husbandman.

¹Ja som ten pravý vinič, a môj Otec je vinár.

²Every branch in me that beareth not fruit, he taketh it away: and every [branch] that beareth fruit, he cleanseth it, that it may bear more fruit.

²Každý letorast, ktorý nenesie na mne ovocia, odrezuje, a každý, ktorý nesie ovocie, čistí, aby doniesol viacej ovocia.

³Already ye are clean because of the word which I have spoken unto you.

³Vy ste už čistí pre slovo, ktoré som vám hovoril.

⁴Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; so neither can ye, except ye abide in me.

⁴Zostaňte vo mne a ja vo vás; ako letorast nemôže niesť ovocie sám od seba, keby nezostal na viniči, tak ani vy, keby ste nezostali vo mne.

⁵I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same beareth much fruit: for apart from me ye can do nothing.

⁵Ja som vinič, vy ste letorasty. Kto zostáva vo mne a ja v ňom, ten nesie mnoho ovocia, lebo bezo mňa nemôžete nič robiť.

⁶If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and they gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned.

⁶Keby niekto nezostal vo mne, vyhodí sa von ako letorast a uschne, a soberú ich a hodia na oheň, a budú horieť.

⁷If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ask whatsoever ye will, and it shall be done unto you.

⁷Ak zostanete vo mne, a moje slová ak zostanú vo vás, vtedy si proste, čokoľvek chcete, a stane sa vám.

⁸Herein is my Father glorified, that ye bear much fruit; and [so] shall ye be my disciples.

⁸Tým je oslávený môj Otec, aby ste niesli mnoho ovocia a boli mojimi učeníkmi

⁹Even as the Father hath loved me, I also have loved you: abide ye in my love.

⁹Jako mňa miloval Otec, tak som i ja vás miloval. Zostaňte v mojej láske!

¹⁰If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father's commandments, and abide in his love.

¹⁰Ak budete ostríhať moje prikázania, zostanete v mojej láske, tak ako som ja ostríhal prikázania svojho Otca a zostávam v jeho láske.

¹¹These things have I spoken unto you, that my joy may be in you, and [that] your joy may be made full.

¹¹To som vám hovoril nato, aby moja radosť zostala vo vás, a vaša radosť aby sa naplnila.

¹²This is my commandment, that ye love one another, even as I have loved you.

¹²To je moje prikázanie, aby ste sa milovali navzájom, ako som ja vás miloval.

¹³Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.

¹³Nad to väčšej lásky nemá nikto, než aby niekto položil svoj život za svojich priateľov.

¹⁴Ye are my friends, if ye do the things which I command you.

¹⁴Vy ste mojimi priateľmi, ak činíte všetko, čo vám ja prikazujem.

¹⁵No longer do I call you servants; for the servant knoweth not what his lord doeth: but I have called you friends; for all things that I heard from my Father, I have made known unto you.

¹⁵Už vám nehovorím viacej sluhovia, lebo sluha nevie, čo robí jeho pán. Ale vás som nazval priateľmi, lebo všetko to, čo som počul od svojho Otca, oznámil som vám.

¹⁶Ye did not choose me, but I chose you, and appointed you, that ye should go and bear fruit, and [that] your fruit should abide: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you.

¹⁶Nie vy ste si mňa vyvolili, ale ja som si vás vyvolil a ustanovil som vás, aby ste vy išli a niesli ovocie, a vaše ovocie aby zostávalo, aby, za čokoľvek by ste prosili Otca v mojom mene, dal vám.

¹⁷These things I command you, that ye may love one another.

¹⁸If the world hateth you, ye know that it hath hated me before [it hated] you.

¹⁹If ye were of the world, the world would love its own: but because ye are not of the world, but I chose you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you.

¹⁹Keby ste boli zo sveta, svet by mal rád svoje vlastné, ale preto, že nie ste zo sveta, ale že som si ja vás vyvolil zo sveta, preto vás svet nenávidí.

²⁰Remember the word that I said unto you, A servant is not greater than his lord. If they persecuted me, they will also persecute you; if they kept my word, they will keep yours also.

²⁰Pamätajte na slovo, ktoré som vám povedal, že sluha nie je väčší ako jeho pán. Ak mňa prenasledovali, budú aj vás prenasledovať. Ak moje slovo zachovali, zachovajú aj vaše.

²¹But all these things will they do unto you for my name's sake, because they know not him that sent me.

²¹Ale to všetko vám urobia pre moje meno, pretože neznajú toho, ktorý ma poslal.

²²If I had not come and spoken unto them, they had not had sin: but now they have no excuse for their sin.

²²Keby som nebol prišiel, a nebol im hovoril, nemali by hriechu, ale teraz nemajú výhovorky zo svojho hriechu.

²³He that hateth me hateth my Father also.

²³Ten, kto mňa nenávidí, nenávidí aj môjho Otca.

²⁴If I had not done among them the works which none other did, they had not had sin: but now have they both seen and hated both me and my Father.

²⁴Keby som nebol činil medzi nimi skutkov, ktorých nikto iný neučinil, nemali by hriechu; ale teraz aj videli aj nenávideli i mňa i môjho Otca.

²⁵But [this cometh to pass], that the word may be fulfilled that is written in their law, They hated me without a cause.

²⁵Ale to preto, aby sa naplnilo slovo, napísané v ich zákone, že ma nenávideli bez príčiny.

²⁶But when the Comforter is come, whom I will send unto you from the Father, [even] the Spirit of truth, which proceedeth from the Father, he shall bear witness of me:

²⁶Ale keď prijde Tešiteľ, ktorého vám ja pošlem od Otca, toho Ducha pravdy, ktorý vychádza od Otca, ten bude svedčiť o mne.

²⁷and ye also bear witness, because ye have been with me from the beginning.

²⁷A vy tiež svedčíte, pretože ste so mnou od počiatku.
