¹But concerning the times and the seasons, brethren, ye have no need that aught be written unto you.

¹ܥܠ ܙܒܢܐ ܕܝܢ ܘܥܕܢܐ ܐܚܝ ܠܐ ܤܢܝܩܝܬܘܢ ܠܡܟܬܒ ܠܟܘܢ ܀

²For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night.

²ܐܢܬܘܢ ܓܝܪ ܫܪܝܪܐܝܬ ܝܕܥܝܢ ܐܢܬܘܢ ܕܝܘܡܗ ܕܡܪܢ ܐܝܟ ܓܢܒܐ ܒܠܠܝܐ ܗܟܢܐ ܐܬܐ ܀

³When they are saying, Peace and safety, then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall in no wise escape.

³ܟܕ ܢܐܡܪܘܢ ܕܫܠܡܐ ܗܘ ܘܫܝܢܐ ܘܗܝܕܝܢ ܡܢܫܠܝܐ ܢܩܘܡ ܥܠܝܗܘܢ ܐܒܕܢܐ ܐܝܟ ܚܒܠܐ ܥܠ ܒܛܢܬܐ ܘܠܐ ܢܡܕܘܢ ܀

⁴But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief:

⁴ܐܢܬܘܢ ܕܝܢ ܐܚܝ ܠܐ ܗܘܝܬܘܢ ܒܚܫܘܟܐ ܕܗܘ ܝܘܡܐ ܐܝܟ ܓܢܒܐ ܢܕܪܟܟܘܢ ܀

⁵for ye are all sons of light, and sons of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness;

⁵ܟܠܟܘܢ ܓܝܪ ܒܢܝ ܢܘܗܪܐ ܐܢܬܘܢ ܘܒܢܝ ܐܝܡܡܐ ܘܠܐ ܗܘܝܬܘܢ ܒܢܝ ܠܠܝܐ ܘܠܐ ܒܢܝ ܚܫܘܟܐ ܀

⁶so then let us not sleep, as do the rest, but let us watch and be sober.

⁶ܠܐ ܢܕܡܟ ܗܟܝܠ ܐܝܟ ܫܪܟܐ ܐܠܐ ܗܘܝܢ ܥܝܪܝܢ ܘܡܗܘܢܝܢ ܀

⁷For they that sleep sleep in the night: and they that are drunken are drunken in the night.

⁷ܐܝܠܝܢ ܓܝܪ ܕܕܡܟܝܢ ܒܠܠܝܐ ܗܘ ܕܡܟܝܢ ܘܐܝܠܝܢ ܕܪܘܝܢ ܒܠܠܝܐ ܗܘ ܪܘܝܢ ܀

⁸But let us, since we are of the day, be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love; and for a helmet, the hope of salvation.

⁸ܚܢܢ ܕܝܢ ܕܒܢܝ ܐܝܡܡܐ ܚܢܢ ܗܘܝܢ ܥܝܪܝܢ ܒܪܥܝܢܢ ܘܠܒܝܫܝܢ ܫܪܝܢܐ ܕܗܝܡܢܘܬܐ ܘܕܚܘܒܐ ܘܢܤܝܡ ܤܢܘܪܬܐ ܕܤܒܪܐ ܕܚܝܐ ܀

⁹For God appointed us not into wrath, but unto the obtaining of salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ,

⁹ܡܛܠ ܕܠܐ ܤܡܢ ܐܠܗܐ ܠܪܘܓܙܐ ܐܠܐ ܠܩܢܝܢܐ ܕܚܝܐ ܒܡܪܢ ܝܫܘܥ ܡܫܝܚܐ ܀

¹⁰who died for us, that, whether we wake or sleep, we should live together with him.

¹⁰ܗܘ ܕܡܝܬ ܥܠ ܐܦܝܢ ܕܐܢ ܥܝܪܝܢܢ ܘܐܢ ܕܡܟܝܢܢ ܐܟܚܕܐ ܥܡܗ ܢܚܐ ܀

¹¹Wherefore exhort one another, and build each other up, even as also ye do.

¹¹ܡܛܠ ܗܢܐ ܒܝܐܘ ܚܕ ܠܚܕ ܘܒܢܘ ܚܕ ܠܚܕ ܐܝܟܢܐ ܕܐܦ ܥܒܕܝܬܘܢ ܀

¹²But we beseech you, brethren, to know them that labor among you, and are over you in the Lord, and admonish you;

¹²ܒܥܝܢܢ ܕܝܢ ܡܢܟܘܢ ܐܚܝ ܕܗܘܝܬܘܢ ܝܕܥܝܢ ܠܐܝܠܝܢ ܕܠܐܝܢ ܒܟܘܢ ܘܩܝܡܝܢ ܒܐܦܝܟܘܢ ܒܡܪܢ ܘܡܠܦܝܢ ܠܟܘܢ ܀

¹³and to esteem them exceeding highly in love for their work's sake. Be at peace among yourselves.

¹³ܕܗܘܘ ܚܫܝܒܝܢ ܠܟܘܢ ܒܚܘܒܐ ܝܬܝܪܐ ܘܡܛܠ ܥܒܕܗܘܢ ܐܫܬܝܢܘ ܥܡܗܘܢ ܀

¹⁴And we exhort you, brethren, admonish the disorderly, encourage the fainthearted, support the weak, be longsuffering toward all.

¹⁴ܒܥܝܢܢ ܕܝܢ ܡܢܟܘܢ ܐܚܝ ܪܕܘ ܠܡܤܟܠܢܐ ܘܠܒܒܘ ܠܙܥܘܪܝ ܢܦܫܐ ܘܤܒܘ ܛܥܢܐ ܕܡܚܝܠܐ ܘܐܓܪܘ ܪܘܚܟܘܢ ܠܘܬ ܟܠܢܫ ܀

¹⁵See that none render unto any one evil for evil; but always follow after that which is good, one toward another, and toward all.

¹⁵ܘܐܙܕܗܪܘ ܕܠܡܐ ܐܢܫ ܡܢܟܘܢ ܒܝܫܬܐ ܚܠܦ ܒܝܫܬܐ ܢܦܪܘܥ ܐܠܐ ܒܟܠܙܒܢ ܗܪܛܘ ܒܬܪ ܛܒܬܐ ܠܘܬ ܚܕܕܐ ܘܠܘܬ ܟܠܢܫ ܀

¹⁶Rejoice always;

¹⁶ܗܘܘ ܚܕܝܢ ܒܟܠܙܒܢ ܀

¹⁷pray without ceasing;

¹⁷ܘܡܨܠܝܢ ܕܠܐ ܫܠܘܐ ܀

¹⁸in everything give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus to you-ward.

¹⁸ܘܒܟܠ ܡܕܡ ܗܘܘ ܡܘܕܝܢ ܗܢܘ ܓܝܪ ܨܒܝܢܗ ܕܐܠܗܐ ܒܝܫܘܥ ܡܫܝܚܐ ܒܟܘܢ ܀

¹⁹Quench not the Spirit;

¹⁹ܪܘܚܐ ܠܐ ܬܕܥܟܘܢ ܀

²⁰despise not prophesyings;

²⁰ܢܒܝܘܬܐ ܠܐ ܬܤܠܘܢ ܀

²¹prove all things; hold fast that which is good;

²¹ܟܠܡܕܡ ܒܩܘ ܘܕܫܦܝܪ ܐܚܘܕܘ ܀

²²abstain from every form of evil.

²²ܘܡܢ ܟܠ ܨܒܘ ܒܝܫܐ ܥܪܘܩܘ ܀

²³And the God of peace himself sanctify you wholly; and may your spirit and soul and body be preserved entire, without blame at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.

²³ܗܘ ܕܝܢ ܐܠܗܐ ܕܫܠܡܐ ܢܩܕܫܟܘܢ ܓܡܝܪܐܝܬ ܠܟܠܟܘܢ ܘܟܠܗ ܪܘܚܟܘܢ ܘܢܦܫܟܘܢ ܘܦܓܪܟܘܢ ܢܢܛܪ ܕܠܐ ܪܫܝܢ ܠܡܐܬܝܬܗ ܕܡܪܢ ܝܫܘܥ ܡܫܝܚܐ ܀

²⁴Faithful is he that calleth you, who will also do it.

²⁴ܡܗܝܡܢ ܗܘ ܡܢ ܕܩܪܟܘܢ ܕܗܘ ܢܥܒܕ ܀

²⁵Brethren, pray for us.

²⁵ܐܚܝ ܨܠܘ ܥܠܝܢ ܀

²⁶Salute all the brethren with a holy kiss.

²⁶ܫܐܠܘ ܒܫܠܡܐ ܕܐܚܝܢ ܟܠܗܘܢ ܒܢܘܫܩܬܐ ܩܕܝܫܬܐ ܀

²⁷I adjure you by the Lord that this epistle be read unto all the brethren.

²⁷ܡܘܡܐ ܐܢܐ ܠܟܘܢ ܒܡܪܢ ܕܬܬܩܪܐ ܐܓܪܬܐ ܗܕܐ ܠܟܠܗܘܢ ܐܚܐ ܩܕܝܫܐ ܀

²⁸The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you.

²⁸ܛܝܒܘܬܗ ܕܡܪܢ ܝܫܘܥ ܡܫܝܚܐ ܥܡܟܘܢ ܐܡܝܢ ܀
