¹Ye are the children of Jehovah your God: ye shall not cut yourselves, nor make any baldness between your eyes for the dead.

¹நீங்கள் உங்கள் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தரின் பிள்ளைகள்; செத்தவனுக்காகக் கீறிக்கொள்ளாமலும், உங்கள் கண்களுக்கு இடையிலே சவரம்பண்ணாமலும் இருப்பீர்களாக.

²For thou art a holy people unto Jehovah thy God, and Jehovah hath chosen thee to be a people for his own possession, above all peoples that are upon the face of the earth.

²நீங்கள் உங்கள் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தருக்குப் பரிசுத்தமான ஜனங்கள்; பூமியின் மீதெங்குமுள்ள எல்லா ஜனங்களிலும் உங்களையே கர்த்தர் தமக்குச் சொந்த ஜனங்களாயிருக்கத் தெரிந்துகொண்டார்.

³Thou shalt not eat any abominable thing.

³அருவருப்பானதொன்றையும் புசிக்க வேண்டாம்.

⁴These are the beasts which ye may eat: the ox, the sheep, and the goat,

⁴நீங்கள் புசிக்கத்தகும் மிருகங்களாவன: மாடும், செம்மறியாடும், வெள்ளாடும்,

⁵the hart, and the gazelle, and the roebuck, and the wild goat, and the pygarg, and the antelope, and the chamois.

⁵மானும், வெளிமானும், கலைமானும், வரையாடும், புள்ளிமானும், சருகுமானும், புல்வாயுமே.

⁶And every beast that parteth the hoof, and hath the hoof cloven in two, [and] cheweth the cud, among the beasts, that may ye eat.

⁶மிருகங்களில் விரிகுளம்புள்ளதாயிருந்து, குளம்புகள் இரண்டாகப் பிரிந்திருக்கிறதும், அசைபோடுகிறதுமான சகல மிருகங்களையும் நீங்கள் புசிக்கலாம்;

⁷Nevertheless these ye shall not eat of them that chew the cud, or of them that have the hoof cloven: the camel, and the hare, and the coney; because they chew the cud but part not the hoof, they are unclean unto you.

⁷அசைபோடுகிறவைகளிலும், விரிகுளம்புள்ளவைகளிலும், நீங்கள் புசிக்கத்தகாதவைகள் எவையென்றால்: ஒட்டகமும், முசலும், குழிமுசலுமே; அவைகள் அசைபோட்டும் அவைகளுக்கு விரிகுளம்பில்லை; அவைகள் உங்களுக்கு அசுத்தமாயிருப்பதாக.

⁸And the swine, because he parteth the hoof but cheweth not the cud, he is unclean unto you: of their flesh ye shall not eat, and their carcasses ye shall not touch.

⁸பன்றியும் புசிக்கத்தகாது; அது விரிகுளம்புள்ளதாயிருந்தும், அசைபோடாதிருக்கும்; அது உங்களுக்கு அசுத்தமாயிருப்பதாக; இவைகளின் மாம்சத்தைப் புசியாமலும் இவைகளின் உடலைத்தொடாமலும் இருப்பீர்களாக.

⁹These ye may eat of all that are in the waters: whatsoever hath fins and scales may ye eat;

⁹ஜலத்திலிருக்கிற எல்லாவற்றிலும் சிறகும் செதிளும் உள்ளவைகளையெல்லாம் நீங்கள் புசிக்கலாம்.

¹⁰and whatsoever hath not fins and scales ye shall not eat; it is unclean unto you.

¹⁰சிறகும் செதிளும் இல்லாத யாதொன்றையும் புசிக்கலாகாது; அது உங்களுக்கு அசுத்தமாயிருப்பதாக.

¹¹Of all clean birds ye may eat.

¹¹சுத்தமான சகல பட்சிகளையும் நீங்கள் புசிக்கலாம்.

¹²But these are they of which ye shall not eat: the eagle, and the gier-eagle, and the ospray,

¹²நீங்கள் புசிக்கத்தகாதவைகள் எவையென்றால்: கழுகும், கருடனும், கடலுராஞ்சியும்,

¹³and the glede, and the falcon, and the kite after its kind,

¹³பைரியும், வல்லூறும், சகலவித பருந்தும்,

¹⁴and every raven after its kind,

¹⁴சகலவித காகங்களும்,

¹⁵and the ostrich, and the night-hawk, and the sea-mew, and the hawk after its kind,

¹⁵தீக்குருவியும், கூகையும், செம்புகமும், சகலவிதமான டேகையும்,

¹⁶the little owl, and the great owl, and the horned owl,

¹⁶ஆந்தையும், கோட்டானும், நாரையும்,

¹⁷and the pelican, and the vulture, and the cormorant,

¹⁷கூழக்கடாவும், குருகும், நீர்க்காகமும்,

¹⁸and the stork, and the heron after its kind, and the hoopoe, and the bat.

¹⁸கொக்கும், சகலவித ராஜாளியும், புழுக்கொத்தியும், வெளவாலுமே.

¹⁹And all winged creeping things are unclean unto you: they shall not be eaten.

¹⁹பறக்கிறவைகளில் ஊர்வன யாவும் உங்களுக்கு அசுத்தமாயிருப்பதாக; அவைகள் புசிக்கத்தகாதவைகள்.

²⁰Of all clean birds ye may eat.

²⁰சுத்தமான பறவைகள் யாவையும் நீங்கள் புசிக்கலாம்.

²¹Ye shall not eat of anything that dieth of itself: thou mayest give it unto the sojourner that is within thy gates, that he may eat it; or thou mayest sell it unto a foreigner: for thou art a holy people unto Jehovah thy God. Thou shalt not boil a kid in its mother's milk.

²¹தானாய் இறந்து போனதொன்றையும் புசிக்கவேண்டாம்; உங்கள் வாசல்களில் இருக்கிற பரதேசிக்கு அதைப் புசிக்கக்கொடுக்கலாம்; அல்லது அந்நியனுக்கு அதை விற்றுப்போடலாம்; நீங்கள் உங்கள் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தருக்குப் பரிசுத்த ஜனங்கள். வெள்ளாட்டுக்குட்டியை அதின் தாயின் பாலிலே சமைக்கவேண்டாம்.

²²Thou shalt surely tithe all the increase of thy seed, that which cometh forth from the field year by year.

²²நீ உன் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தருக்கு எப்பொழுதும் பயந்திருக்கப் பழகும்படிக்கு, வருஷந்தோறும் நீ விதைக்கிற விதைப்பினாலே வயலில் விளையும் எல்லாப் பலனிலும் தசமபாகத்தைப் பிரித்து,

²³And thou shalt eat before Jehovah thy God, in the place which he shall choose, to cause his name to dwell there, the tithe of thy grain, of thy new wine, and of thine oil, and the firstlings of thy herd and of thy flock; that thou mayest learn to fear Jehovah thy God always.

²³உன் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தர் தமது நாமம் விளங்கும்படி தெரிந்துகொள்ளும் ஸ்தானத்திலே, உன் தானியத்திலும் உன் திராட்சரசத்திலும் உன் எண்ணெயிலும் தசமபாகத்தையும் உன் ஆடுமாடுகளின் தலையீற்றுகளையும் அவருடைய சந்நிதியில் புசிப்பாயாக.

²⁴And if the way be too long for thee, so that thou art not able to carry it, because the place is too far from thee, which Jehovah thy God shall choose, to set his name there, when Jehovah thy God shall bless thee;

²⁴உன் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தர் உன்னை ஆசீர்வதிக்கும் காலத்தில், உன் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தர் தமது நாமம் விளங்கும்படி தெரிந்துகொண்ட ஸ்தானம் உனக்கு வெகு தூரமாயிருக்கிறதினால், வழிப்பிரயாணத்தின் வெகு தொலைவினிமித்தம், நீ அதைக் கொண்டுபோகக்கூடாதிருக்குமானால்,

²⁵then shalt thou turn it into money, and bind up the money in thy hand, and shalt go unto the place which Jehovah thy God shall choose:

²⁵அதைப் பணமாக்கி, பணமுடிப்பை உன் கையிலே பிடித்துக்கொண்டு, உன் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தர் தெரிந்துகொண்ட ஸ்தலத்திற்குப் போய்,

²⁶and thou shalt bestow the money for whatsoever thy soul desireth, for oxen, or for sheep, or for wine, or for strong drink, or for whatsoever thy soul asketh of thee; and thou shalt eat there before Jehovah thy God, and thou shalt rejoice, thou and thy household.

²⁶அங்கே உன் இஷ்டப்படி ஆடுமாடு, திராட்சரசம், மதுபானம் முதலான சகலத்தையும் பணம்கொடுத்து வாங்கி, உன் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தருடைய சந்நிதியில், நீயும் உன் குடும்பத்தாரும் உன் வாசல்களில் இருக்கிற லேவியனும் புசித்துச் சந்தோஷப்படுவீர்களாக.

²⁷And the Levite that is within thy gates, thou shalt not forsake him; for he hath no portion nor inheritance with thee.

²⁷லேவியனுக்கு உன்னோடே பங்கும் சுதந்தரமும் இல்லாதபடியால் அவனைக் கைவிடாயாக.

²⁸At the end of every three years thou shalt bring forth all the tithe of thine increase in the same year, and shalt lay it up within thy gates:

²⁸மூன்றாம் வருஷத்தின் முடிவிலே அவ்வருஷத்தில் உனக்கு வந்த பலன் எல்லாவற்றிலும் தசமபாகத்தைப் பிரித்து, உன் வாசல்களில் வைக்கக்கடவாய்.

²⁹and the Levite, because he hath no portion nor inheritance with thee, and the sojourner, and the fatherless, and the widow, that are within thy gates, shall come, and shall eat and be satisfied; that Jehovah thy God may bless thee in all the work of thy hand which thou doest.

²⁹லேவியனுக்கு உன்னோடே பங்கும் சுதந்தரமும் இல்லாதபடியினால், அவனும், உன் வாசல்களில் இருக்கிற பரதேசியும், திக்கற்றவனும், விதவையும் வந்து புசித்துத் திருப்தியடைவார்களாக; அப்பொழுது உன் கை செய்யும் வேலையிலெல்லாம் உன் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தர் உன்னை ஆசீர்வதிப்பார்.
