¹The priests the Levites, [even] all the tribe of Levi, shall have no portion nor inheritance with Israel: they shall eat the offerings of Jehovah made by fire, and his inheritance.

¹லேவியராகிய ஆசாரியருக்கும் லேவிகோத்திரத்தார் அனைவருக்கும் இஸ்ரவேல் புத்திரருடன் பங்கும் சுதந்தரமும் இல்லாதிருப்பதாக; கர்த்தருக்கு இடப்படும் தகனபலிகளையும் அவருக்குச் சுதந்தரமானவைகளையும் அவர்கள் புசிப்பார்களாக.

²And they shall have no inheritance among their brethren: Jehovah is their inheritance, as he hath spoken unto them.

²அவர்கள் சகோதரருக்குள்ளே அவர்களுக்குச் சுதந்தரமில்லை; கர்த்தர் அவர்களுக்குச் சொல்லியபடியே, அவரே அவர்கள் சுதந்தரம்.

³And this shall be the priests' due from the people, from them that offer a sacrifice, whether it be ox or sheep, that they shall give unto the priest the shoulder, and the two cheeks, and the maw.

³ஜனத்தினிடத்தில் பெற்றுக்கொள்ளவேண்டிய ஆசாரியருக்குரிய வரத்தாவது: ஜனங்கள் பலியிடும் ஆடுமாடுகளில் முன்னந்தொடையையும், தாடைகளையும், இரைப்பைகளையும் ஆசாரியனுக்குக் கொடுக்கவேண்டும்.

⁴The first-fruits of thy grain, of thy new wine, and of thine oil, and the first of the fleece of thy sheep, shalt thou give him.

⁴உன் தானியம், திராட்சரசம், எண்ணெய், ஆட்டுரோமம் என்னும் இவைகளின் முதற்பலனையும் அவனுக்குக் கொடுக்கவேண்டும்.

⁵For Jehovah thy God hath chosen him out of all thy tribes, to stand to minister in the name of Jehovah, him and his sons for ever.

⁵அவனும் அவன் குமாரரும் எந்நாளும் கர்த்தரின் நாமத்தை முன்னிட்டு ஆராதனை செய்யும்படி நிற்கும்பொருட்டு, உன் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தர் உன் கோத்திரத்தார் எல்லாருக்குள்ளும் அவனையே தெரிந்துகொண்டார்.

⁶And if a Levite come from any of thy gates out of all Israel, where he sojourneth, and come with all the desire of his soul unto the place which Jehovah shall choose;

⁶இஸ்ரவேலில் எவ்விடத்திலுமுள்ள உன் வாசல்கள் யாதொன்றிலே தங்கின ஒரு லேவியன் அவ்விடத்தை விட்டு, கர்த்தர் தெரிந்துகொண்ட ஸ்தானத்திற்கு மனப்பூர்வமாய் வந்தால்,

⁷then he shall minister in the name of Jehovah his God, as all his brethren the Levites do, who stand there before Jehovah.

⁷அங்கே கர்த்தருடைய சந்நிதியில் நிற்கும் லேவியராகிய தன் எல்லாச் சகோதரரைப்போலும் தன் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தரின் நாமத்தை முன்னிட்டு ஊழியஞ்செய்வான்.

⁸They shall have like portions to eat, besides that which cometh of the sale of his patrimony.

⁸அப்படிப்பட்டவர்கள் தங்கள் பிதாக்களுடைய ஆஸ்தியின் விலைக்கிரயத்தை அநுபவிக்கிறதும் அல்லாமல், சாப்பாட்டிற்காகச் சமமானபாகத்தையும் பெற்றுக்கொள்வார்கள்.

⁹When thou art come into the land which Jehovah thy God giveth thee, thou shalt not learn to do after the abominations of those nations.

⁹உன் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தர் உனக்குக் கொடுக்கும் தேசத்தில் நீ போய்ச் சேரும்போது, அந்த ஜாதிகள் செய்யும் அருவருப்புகளின்படி செய்யக் கற்றுக்கொள்ளவேண்டாம்.

¹⁰There shall not be found with thee any one that maketh his son or his daughter to pass through the fire, one that useth divination, one that practiseth augury, or an enchanter, or a sorcerer,

¹⁰தன் மகனையாவது தன் மகளையாவது தீக்கடக்கப்பண்ணுகிறவனும், குறிசொல்லுகிறவனும், நாள் பார்க்கிறவனும், அஞ்சனம்பார்க்கிறவனும், சூனியக்காரனும்,

¹¹or a charmer, or a consulter with a familiar spirit, or a wizard, or a necromancer.

¹¹மந்திரவாதியும், சன்னதக்காரனும், மாயவித்தைக்காரனும், செத்தவர்களிடத்தில் குறிகேட்கிறவனும் உங்களுக்குள்ளே இருக்கவேண்டாம்.

¹²For whosoever doeth these things is an abomination unto Jehovah: and because of these abominations Jehovah thy God doth drive them out from before thee.

¹²இப்படிப்பட்டவைகளைச் செய்கிறவன் எவனும் கர்த்தருக்கு அருவருப்பானவன்; இப்படிப்பட்ட அருவருப்புகளின் நிமித்தம் உன் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தர் அவர்களை உன் முன்னின்று துரத்திவிடுகிறார்.

¹³Thou shalt be perfect with Jehovah thy God.

¹³உன் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தருக்கு முன்பாக நீ உத்தமனாயிருக்கக்கடவாய்.

¹⁴For these nations, that thou shalt dispossess, hearken unto them that practise augury, and unto diviners; but as for thee, Jehovah thy God hath not suffered thee so to do.

¹⁴நீ துரத்திவிடப்போகிற இந்த ஜாதிகள் நாள்பார்க்கிறவர்களுக்கும் குறிசொல்லுகிறவர்களுக்கும் செவிகொடுக்கிறார்கள்; நீ அப்படிச் செய்கிறதற்கு உன் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தர் உத்தரவுகொடார்.

¹⁵Jehovah thy God will raise up unto thee a prophet from the midst of thee, of thy brethren, like unto me; unto him ye shall hearken;

¹⁵உன் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தர் என்னைப்போல ஒரு தீர்க்கதரிசியை உனக்காக உன் நடுவே உன் சகோதரரிலிருந்து எழும்பப்பண்ணுவார்; அவருக்குச் செவிகொடுப்பீர்களாக.

¹⁶according to all that thou desiredst of Jehovah thy God in Horeb in the day of the assembly, saying, Let me not hear again the voice of Jehovah my God, neither let me see this great fire any more, that I die not.

¹⁶ஓரேபிலே சபை கூட்டப்பட்ட நாளில்: நான் சாகாதபடி என் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தரின் சத்தத்தை இனி நான் கேளாமலும், இந்தப் பெரிய அக்கினியை இனி நான் காணாமலும் இருப்பேனாக என்று உன் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தரை நீ வேண்டிக்கொண்டதின்படியெல்லாம் அவர் செய்வார்.

¹⁷And Jehovah said unto me, They have well said that which they have spoken.

¹⁷அப்பொழுது கர்த்தர் என்னை நோக்கி: அவர்கள் சொன்னது சரியே.

¹⁸I will raise them up a prophet from among their brethren, like unto thee; and I will put my words in his mouth, and he shall speak unto them all that I shall command him.

¹⁸உன்னைப்போல ஒரு தீர்க்கதரிசியை நான் அவர்களுக்காக அவர்கள் சகோதரரிலிருந்து எழும்பப்பண்ணி, என் வார்த்தைகளை அவர் வாயில் அருளுவேன்; நான் அவருக்குக் கற்பிப்பதையெல்லாம் அவர்களுக்குச் சொல்லுவார்.

¹⁹And it shall come to pass, that whosoever will not hearken unto my words which he shall speak in my name, I will require it of him.

¹⁹என் நாமத்தினாலே அவர் சொல்லும் என் வார்த்தைகளுக்குச் செவிகொடாதவன் எவனோ அவனை நான் விசாரிப்பேன்.

²⁰But the prophet, that shall speak a word presumptuously in my name, which I have not commanded him to speak, or that shall speak in the name of other gods, that same prophet shall die.

²⁰சொல்லும்படி நான் கட்டளையிடாத வார்த்தைகளை என் நாமத்தினாலே சொல்லத் துணியும் தீர்க்கதரிசியும், வேறே தேவர்களின் நாமத்தினாலே பேசும் தீர்க்கதரிசியும் சாகக்கடவன்.

²¹And if thou say in thy heart, How shall we know the word which Jehovah hath not spoken?

²¹கர்த்தர் சொல்லாத வார்த்தை இன்னதென்று நான் எப்படி அறிவேன் என்று நீ உன் இருதயத்தில் சொல்வாயாகில்,

²²when a prophet speaketh in the name of Jehovah, if the thing follow not, nor come to pass, that is the thing which Jehovah hath not spoken: the prophet hath spoken it presumptuously, thou shalt not be afraid of him.

²²ஒரு தீர்க்கதரிசி கர்த்தரின் நாமத்தினாலே சொல்லும் காரியம் நடவாமலும் நிறைவேறாமலும் போனால், அது கர்த்தர் சொல்லாத வார்த்தை; அந்தத் தீர்க்கதரிசி அதைத் துணிகரத்தினால் சொன்னான்; அவனுக்கு நீ பயப்படவேண்டாம்.
