1Then Job answered and said,
1யோபு பிரதியுத்தரமாக:
2No doubt but ye are the people, And wisdom shall die with you.
2ஆம், நீங்களே ஞானமுள்ள ஜனங்கள்; உங்களுடனே ஞானம் சாகும்.
3But I have understanding as well as you; I am not inferior to you: Yea, who knoweth not such things as these?
3உங்களைப்போல எனக்கும் புத்தியுண்டு; உங்களிலும் நான் தாழ்ந்தவன் அல்ல; இப்படிப்பட்டவைகளை அறியாதவன் யார்?
4I am as one that is a laughing-stock to his neighbor, I who called upon God, and he answered: The just, the perfect man is a laughing-stock.
4என் சிநேகிதரால் நான் நிந்திக்கப்பட்டு, தேவனை நோக்கிப் பிரார்த்திப்பேன்; அவர் எனக்கு மறு உத்தரவு அருளுவார்; உத்தமனாகிய நீதிமான் பரியாசம்பண்ணப்படுகிறான்.
5In the thought of him that is at ease there is contempt for misfortune; It is ready for them whose foot slippeth.
5ஆபத்துக்குள்ளானவன் சுகமாயிருக்கிறவனுடைய நினைவில் இகழ்ச்சியடைகிறான்; காலிடறினவர்களுக்கு இது நேரிடும்.
6The tents of robbers prosper, And they that provoke God are secure; Into whose hand God bringeth [abundantly].
6கள்ளருடைய கூடாரங்களில் செல்வமுண்டு; தேவனைக் கோபப்படுத்துகிறவர்களுக்குச் சாங்கோபாங்கமுண்டு; அவர்கள் கையிலே தேவன் கொண்டுவந்து கொடுக்கிறார்.
7But ask now the beasts, and they shall teach thee; And the birds of the heavens, and they shall tell thee:
7இப்போதும் நீ மிருகங்களைக் கேட்டுப்பார், அவைகள் உனக்குப் போதிக்கும் ஆகாயத்துப் பறவைகளைக் கேள், அவைகள் உனக்கு அறிவிக்கும்.
8Or speak to the earth, and it shall teach thee; And the fishes of the sea shall declare unto thee.
8அல்லது பூமியை விசாரித்துக் கேள், அது உனக்கு உபதேசிக்கும்; சமுத்திரத்தின் மச்சங்களைக் கேள், அவைகள் உனக்கு விவரிக்கும்.
9Who knoweth not in all these, That the hand of Jehovah hath wrought this,
9கர்த்தருடைய கரம் இதைச் செய்ததென்று இவைகளெல்லாவற்றினாலும் அறியாதவன் யார்?
10In whose hand is the soul of every living thing, And the breath of all mankind?
10சகல பிராணிகளின் ஜீவனும், மாம்சமான சகல மனுஷரின் ஆவியும் அவர் கையிலிருக்கிறது.
11Doth not the ear try words, Even as the palate tasteth its food?
11வாயானது போஜனத்தை ருசிபார்க்கிறதுபோல, செவியானது வார்த்தைகளைச் சோதித்துப்பார்க்கிறதல்லவா?
12With aged men is wisdom, And in length of days understanding.
12முதியோரிடத்தில் ஞானமும் வயது சென்றவர்களிடத்தில் புத்தியும் இருக்குமே.
13With [God] is wisdom and might; He hath counsel and understanding.
13அவரிடத்தில் ஞானமும் வல்லமையும் எத்தனை அதிகமாய் இருக்கும்? அவருக்குத்தான் ஆலோசனையும் புத்தியும் உண்டு.
14Behold, he breaketh down, and it cannot be built again; He shutteth up a man, and there can be no opening.
14இதோ, அவர் இடித்தால் கட்டமுடியாது; அவர் மனுஷனை அடைத்தால் விடுவிக்கமுடியாது.
15Behold, he withholdeth the waters, and they dry up; Again, he sendeth them out, and they overturn the earth.
15இதோ, அவர் தண்ணீர்களை அடக்கினால் எல்லாம் உலர்ந்துபோம்; அவர் அவைகளை வரவிட்டால், பூமியைக் கீழதுமேலதாக்கும்.
16With him is strength and wisdom; The deceived and the deceiver are his.
16அவரிடத்தில் பெலனும் ஞானமுமுண்டு; மோசம் போகிறவனும் மோசம் போக்குகிறவனும், அவர் கையின் கீழிருக்கிறார்கள்.
17He leadeth counsellors away stripped, And judges maketh he fools.
17அவர் ஆலோசனைக்காரரைச் சிறைபிடித்து, நியாயாதிபதிகளை மதிமயக்குகிறார்.
18He looseth the bond of kings, And he bindeth their loins with a girdle.
18அவர் ராஜாக்களுடைய கட்டுகளை அவிழ்த்து, அவர்கள் இடுப்புகளைக் கச்சைகட்டுகிறார்.
19He leadeth priests away stripped, And overthroweth the mighty.
19அவர் மந்திரிகளைச் சிறைபிடித்துக்கொண்டுபோய், பெலவான்களைக் கவிழ்த்துப்போடுகிறார்.
20He removeth the speech of the trusty, And taketh away the understanding of the elders.
20அவர் நம்பிக்கையுள்ளவர்களுடைய வாக்கை விலக்கி, முதிர்வயதுள்ளவர்களின் ஆலோசனையை வாங்கிப்போடுகிறார்.
21He poureth contempt upon princes, And looseth the belt of the strong.
21அவர் பிரபுக்களின்மேல் இகழ்ச்சி வரப்பண்ணுகிறார்; பலவான்களின் கச்சையைத் தளர்ந்துபோகப்பண்ணுகிறார்.
22He uncovereth deep things out of darkness, And bringeth out to light the shadow of death.
22அவர் அந்தகாரத்திலிருக்கிற ஆழங்களை வெளியரங்கமாக்கி, மரண இருளை வெளிச்சத்தில் கொண்டுவருகிறார்.
23He increaseth the nations, and he destroyeth them: He enlargeth the nations, and he leadeth them captive.
23அவர் ஜாதிகளைப் பெருகவும் அழியவும்பண்ணுகிறார்; அவர் ஜாதிகளைப் பரவவும் குறுகவும் பண்ணுகிறார்.
24He taketh away understanding from the chiefs of the people of the earth, And causeth them to wander in a wilderness where there is no way.
24அவர் பூமியிலுள்ள ஜனத்தினுடைய அதிபதிகளின் நெஞ்சை அகற்றிப்போட்டு, அவர்களை வழியில்லாத அந்தரத்திலே அலையப்பண்ணுகிறார்.
25They grope in the dark without light; And he maketh them to stagger like a drunken man.
25அவர்கள் வெளிச்சமற்ற இருளிலே தடவித்திரிகிறார்கள்; வெறித்தவர்களைப்போல அவர்களைத் தடுமாறித் திரியப்பண்ணுகிறார்.
