1Then answered Eliphaz the Temanite, and said,
1அப்பொழுது தேமானியனான எலிப்பாஸ் பிரதியுத்தரமாக:
2Can a man be profitable unto God? Surely he that is wise is profitable unto himself.
2ஒரு மனுஷன் விவேகியாயிருந்து, தனக்குத்தான் பிரயோஜனமாயிருக்கிறதினால் தேவனுக்குப் பிரயோஜனமாயிருப்பானோ?
3Is it any pleasure to the Almighty, that thou art righteous? Or is it gain [to him], that thou makest thy ways perfect?
3நீர் நீதிமானாயிருப்பதினால் சர்வவல்லவருக்கு நன்மையுண்டாகுமோ? நீர் உம்முடைய வழிகளை உத்தமமாக்குகிறது அவருக்கு ஆதாயமாயிருக்குமோ?
4Is it for thy fear [of him] that he reproveth thee, That he entereth with thee into judgment?
4அவர் உமக்குப் பயந்து உம்மோடே வழக்காடி, உம்மோடே நியாயத்துக்கு வருவாரோ?
5Is not thy wickedness great? Neither is there any end to thine iniquities.
5உம்முடைய பொல்லாப்பு பெரியதும், உம்முடைய அக்கிரமங்கள் முடிவில்லாதவைகளுமாய் இருக்கிறதல்லவோ?
6For thou hast taken pledges of thy brother for nought, And stripped the naked of their clothing.
6முகாந்தரமில்லாமல் உம்முடைய சகோதரர் கையில் அடகுவாங்கி, ஏழைகளின் வஸ்திரங்களைப் பறித்துக்கொண்டீர்.
7Thou hast not given water to the weary to drink, And thou hast withholden bread from the hungry.
7விடாய்த்தவனுக்குத் தாகத்துக்குத் தண்ணீர் கொடாமலும், பசித்தவனுக்கு போஜனம் கொடாமலும் போனீர்.
8But as for the mighty man, he had the earth; And the honorable man, he dwelt in it.
8பலவானுக்கே தேசத்தில் இடமுண்டாயிற்று; கனவான் அதில் குடியேறினான்.
9Thou hast sent widows away empty, And the arms of the fatherless have been broken.
9விதவைகளை வெறுமையாய் அனுப்பிவிட்டீர்; தாய்தகப்பன் இல்லாதவர்களின் புயங்கள் முறிக்கப்பட்டது.
10Therefore snares are round about thee, And sudden fear troubleth thee,
10ஆகையால் கண்ணிகள் உம்மைச் சூழ்ந்திருக்கிறது; அசுப்பிலே உமக்கு வந்த பயங்கரம் உம்மைக் கலங்கப்பண்ணுகிறது.
11Or darkness, so that thou canst not see, And abundance of waters cover thee.
11நீர் பார்க்கக்கூடாதபடிக்கு இருள் வந்தது, ஜலப்பிரவாகம் உம்மை மூடுகிறது.
12Is not God in the height of heaven? And behold the height of the stars, how high they are!
12தேவன் பரலோகத்தின் உன்னதங்களிலிருக்கிறார் அல்லவோ? நட்சத்திரங்களின் உயரத்தைப் பாரும், அவைகள் எத்தனை உயரமாயிருக்கிறது.
13And thou sayest, What doth God know? Can he judge through the thick darkness?
13நீர்: தேவன் எப்படி அறிவார், அந்தகாரத்துக்கு அப்புறத்திலிருக்கிறவர் நியாயம் விசாரிக்கக்கூடுமோ?
14Thick clouds are a covering to him, so that he seeth not; And he walketh on the vault of heaven.
14அவர் பாராதபடிக்கு மேகங்கள் அவருக்கு மறைவாயிருக்கிறது; பரமண்டலங்களின் சக்கரத்திலே அவர் உலாவுகிறார் என்று சொல்லுகிறீர்.
15Wilt thou keep the old way Which wicked men have trodden?
15அக்கிரம மாந்தர் பூர்வத்தில் நடந்த மார்க்கத்தைக் கவனித்துப் பார்த்தீரோ?
16Who were snatched away before their time, Whose foundation was poured out as a stream,
16காலம் வருமுன்னே அவர்கள் வாடிப்போனார்கள்; அவர்களுடைய அஸ்திபாரத்தின்மேல் வெள்ளம் புரண்டது.
17Who said unto God, Depart from us; And, What can the Almighty do for us?
17தேவன் அவர்கள் வீடுகளை நன்மையால் நிரப்பியிருந்தாலும், அவர்கள் அவரை நோக்கி: எங்களைவிட்டு விலகும், சர்வவல்லவராலே எங்களுக்கு என்ன ஆகும் என்றார்கள்.
18Yet he filled their houses with good things: But the counsel of the wicked is far from me.
18ஆகையால் துன்மார்க்கரின் ஆலோசனை எனக்குத் தூரமாயிருப்பதாக.
19The righteous see it, and are glad; And the innocent laugh them to scorn,
19எங்கள் நிலைமை நிர்மூலமாகாமல், அவர்களுக்கு மீதியானதையோ அக்கினி பட்சித்ததென்பதை நீதிமான்கள் கண்டு சந்தோஷப்படுகிறார்கள்.
20[Saying], Surely they that did rise up against us are cut off, And the remnant of them the fire hath consumed.
20குற்றமில்லாதவன் அவர்களைப் பார்த்து நகைக்கிறான்.
21Acquaint now thyself with him, and be at peace: Thereby good shall come unto thee.
21நீர் அவரோடே பழகி சமாதானமாயிரும்; அதினால் உமக்கு நன்மைவரும்.
22Receive, I pray thee, the law from his mouth, And lay up his words in thy heart.
22அவர் வாயினின்று பிறந்த வேதப்பிரமாணத்தை ஏற்றுக்கொண்டு, அவர் வார்த்தைகளை உம்முடைய இருதயத்தில் வைத்துக்கொள்ள வேண்டுகிறேன்.
23If thou return to the Almighty, thou shalt be built up, If thou put away unrighteousness far from thy tents.
23நீர் சர்வவல்லவரிடத்தில் மனந்திரும்பினால், திரும்பக் கட்டப்படுவீர்; அக்கிரமத்தை உமது கூடாரத்துக்குத் தூரமாக்குவீர்.
24And lay thou [thy] treasure in the dust, And [the gold of] Ophir among the stones of the brooks;
24அப்பொழுது தூளைப்போல் பொன்னையும், ஆற்றுக் கற்களைப்போல் ஓப்பீரின் தங்கத்தையும் சேர்த்துவைப்பீர்.
25And the Almighty will be thy treasure, And precious silver unto thee.
25அப்பொழுது சர்வவல்லவர் தாமே உமக்குப் பசும்பொன்னும், உமக்குச் சொக்கவெள்ளியுமாயிருப்பார்.
26For then shalt thou delight thyself in the Almighty, And shalt lift up thy face unto God.
26அப்பொழுது சர்வவல்லவர்மேல் மனமகிழ்ச்சியாயிருந்து, தேவனுக்கு நேராக உம்முடைய முகத்தை ஏறெடுப்பீர்.
27Thou shalt make thy prayer unto him, and he will hear thee; And thou shalt pay thy vows.
27நீர் அவரை நோக்கி விண்ணப்பம்பண்ண, அவர் உமக்குச் செவிகொடுப்பார்; அப்பொழுது நீர் உம்முடைய பொருத்தனைகளைச் செலுத்துவீர்.
28Thou shalt also decree a thing, and it shall be established unto thee; And light shall shine upon thy ways.
28நீர் ஒரு காரியத்தை நிருணயம்பண்ணினால், அது உமக்கு நிலைவரப்படும்; உம்முடைய பாதைகளில் வெளிச்சம் பிரகாசிக்கும்.
29When they cast [thee] down, thou shalt say, [There is] lifting up; And the humble person he will save.
29மனுஷர் ஒடுக்கப்படும்போது திடப்படக்கடவர்கள் என்று நீர் சொல்ல, தாழ்ந்தோர் இரட்சிக்கப்படுவார்கள்.
30He will deliver [even] him that is not innocent: Yea, he shall be delivered through the cleanness of thy hands.
30குற்றமற்றிராதவனையுங்கூடத் தப்புவிப்பார்; உம்முடைய கைகளின் சுத்தத்தினிமித்தம் அவன் தப்பிப்போவான் என்றான்.
