¹Then answered Bildad the Shuhite, and said,

¹அப்பொழுது சூகியனான பில்தாத் பிரதியுத்தரமாக:

²Dominion and fear are with him; He maketh peace in his high places.

²அதிகாரமும் பயங்கரமும் அவரிடத்தில் இருக்கிறது; அவர் தமது உன்னதமான ஸ்தலங்களில் சமாதானத்தை உண்டாக்குகிறார்.

³Is there any number of his armies? And upon whom doth not his light arise?

³அவருடைய சேனைகளுக்குத் தொகையுண்டோ? அவருடைய வெளிச்சம் யார்மேல் உதிக்காமலிருக்கிறது?

⁴How then can man be just with God? Or how can he be clean that is born of a woman?

⁴இப்படியிருக்க, மனுஷன் தேவனுக்கு முன்பாக நீதிமானாயிருப்பது எப்படி? ஸ்திரீயினிடத்தில் பிறந்தவன் சுத்தமாயிருப்பது எப்படி?

⁵Behold, even the moon hath no brightness, And the stars are not pure in his sight:

⁵சந்திரனை அண்ணாந்துபாரும், அதுவும் பிரகாசியாமலிருக்கிறது; நட்சத்திரங்களும் அவர் பார்வைக்குச் சுத்தமானவைகள் அல்ல.

⁶How much less man, that is a worm! And the son of man, that is a worm!

⁶புழுவாயிருக்கிற மனிதனும், பூச்சியாயிருக்கிற மனுபுத்திரனும் எம்மாத்திரம் என்றான்.
