1Then Jehovah answered Job out of the whirlwind, and said,
1அப்பொழுது கர்த்தர்: பெருங்காற்றிலிருந்து யோபுக்கு உத்தரவாக:
2Who is this that darkeneth counsel By words without knowledge?
2அறிவில்லாத வார்த்தைகளினால் ஆலோசனையை அந்தகாரப்படுத்துகிற இவன் யார்?
3Gird up now thy loins like a man; For I will demand of thee, and declare thou unto me.
3இப்போதும் புருஷனைப்போல் இடைகட்டிக்கொள்; நான் உன்னைக்கேட்பேன்; நீ எனக்கு உத்தரவு சொல்லு.
4Where wast thou when I laid the foundations of the earth? Declare, if thou hast understanding.
4நான் பூமியை அஸ்திபாரப்படுத்துகிறபோது நீ எங்கேயிருந்தாய்? நீ அறிவாளியானால் அதை அறிவி.
5Who determined the measures thereof, if thou knowest? Or who stretched the line upon it?
5அதற்கு அளவு குறித்தவர் யார்? அதின்மேல் நூல்போட்டவர் யார்? இதை நீ அறிந்திருந்தால் சொல்லு.
6Whereupon were the foundations thereof fastened? Or who laid the corner-stone thereof,
6அதின் ஆதாரங்கள் எதின்மேல் போடப்பட்டது? அதின் கோடிக்கல்லை வைத்தவர் யார்?
7When the morning stars sang together, And all the sons of God shouted for joy?
7அப்பொழுது விடியற்காலத்து நட்சத்திரங்கள் ஏகமாய்ப்பாடி, தேவபுத்திரர் எல்லாரும் கெம்பீரித்தார்களே.
8Or [who] shut up the sea with doors, When it brake forth, [as if] it had issued out of the womb;
8கர்ப்பத்திலிருந்து உதிக்கிறதுபோல் சமுத்திரம் புரண்டுவந்தபோது, அதைக் கதவுகளால் அடைத்தவர் யார்?
9When I made clouds the garment thereof, And thick darkness a swaddling-band for it,
9மேகத்தை அதற்கு வஸ்திரமாகவும், இருளை அதற்குப் புடவையாகவும் நான் உடுத்தினபோதும்,
10And marked out for it my bound, And set bars and doors,
10நான் அதற்கு எல்லையைக் குறித்து, அதற்குத் தாழ்ப்பாள்களையும் கதவுகளையும் போட்டு:
11And said, Hitherto shalt thou come, but no further; And here shall thy proud waves be stayed?
11இம்மட்டும் வா, மிஞ்சி வராதே; உன் அலைகளின் பெருமை இங்கே அடங்கக்கடவது என்று நான் சொல்லுகிறபோதும் நீ எங்கேயிருந்தாய்?
12Hast thou commanded the morning since thy days [began], [And] caused the dayspring to know its place;
12துஷ்டர்கள் பூமியிலிருந்து உதறிப்போடப்படும்படிக்கு, அதின் கடையாந்தரங்களைப் பிடிக்கும்பொருட்டு,
13That it might take hold of the ends of the earth, And the wicked be shaken out of it?
13உன் ஜீவகாலத்தில் எப்போதாவது நீ விடியற்காலத்துக்குக் கட்டளை கொடுத்து, அருணோதயத்துக்கு அதின் இடத்தைக் காண்பித்ததுண்டோ?
14It is changed as clay under the seal; And [all things] stand forth as a garment:
14பூமி முத்திரையிடப்பட்ட களிமண்போல் வேறே ரூபங்கொள்ளும்; சகலமும் வஸ்திரம் தரித்திருக்கிறது போல் காணப்படும்.
15And from the wicked their light is withholden, And the high arm is broken.
15துன்மார்க்கரின் ஒளி அவர்களை விட்டு எடுபடும்; மேட்டிமையான புயம் முறிக்கப்படும்.
16Hast thou entered into the springs of the sea? Or hast thou walked in the recesses of the deep?
16நீ சமுத்திரத்தின் அடித்தலங்கள்மட்டும் புகுந்து, ஆழத்தின் அடியில் உலாவினதுண்டோ?
17Have the gates of death been revealed unto thee? Or hast thou seen the gates of the shadow of death?
17மரணவாசல்கள் உனக்குத் திறந்ததுண்டோ? மரண இருளின் வாசல்களை நீ பார்த்ததுண்டோ?
18Hast thou comprehended the earth in its breadth? Declare, if thou knowest it all.
18நீ பூமியின் விசாலங்களை ஆராய்ந்து அறிந்ததுண்டோ? இவைகளையெல்லாம் நீ அறிந்திருந்தால் சொல்லு.
19Where is the way to the dwelling of light? And as for darkness, where is the place thereof,
19வெளிச்சம் வாசமாயிருக்கும் இடத்துக்கு வழியெங்கே? இருள் குடிகொண்டிருக்கும் ஸ்தானமெங்கே?
20That thou shouldest take it to the bound thereof, And that thou shouldest discern the paths to the house thereof?
20அதின் எல்லை இன்னதென்று உனக்குத் தெரியுமோ? அதின் வீட்டுக்குப்போகிற பாதையை அறிந்திருக்கிறாயோ?
21[Doubtless], thou knowest, for thou wast then born, And the number of thy days is great!
21நீ அதை அறியும்படி அப்போது பிறந்திருந்தாயோ? உன் நாட்களின் தொகை அவ்வளவு பெரிதோ?
22Hast thou entered the treasuries of the snow, Or hast thou seen the treasures of the hail,
22உறைந்த மழையின் பண்டசாலைகளுக்குள் நீ பிரவேசித்தாயோ? கல்மழையிலிருக்கிற பண்டசாலைகளைப் பார்த்தாயோ?
23Which I have reserved against the time of trouble, Against the day of battle and war?
23ஆபத்து வருங்காலத்திலும், கலகமும் யுத்தமும் வருங்காலத்திலும், பிரயோகிக்கும்படி நான் அவைகளை வைத்துவைத்திருக்கிறேன்.
24By what way is the light parted, Or the east wind scattered upon the earth?
24வெளிச்சம் பரவப்படுகிறதற்கும், கீழ்காற்று பூமியின்மேல் வீசுகிறதற்குமான வழி எங்கே?
25Who hath cleft a channel for the waterflood, Or the way for the lightning of the thunder;
25பாழும் அந்தரவெளியுமான தரையைத் திருப்தியாக்கி, இளம்பூண்டுகளின் முளைகளை முளைக்கப்பண்ணும்படி,
26To cause it to rain on a land where no man is; On the wilderness, wherein there is no man;
26பூமியெங்கும் மனுஷர் குடியில்லாத இடத்திலும், மனுஷசஞ்சாரமில்லாத வனாந்தரத்திலும் மழையை வருஷிக்கப்பண்ணி,
27To satisfy the waste and desolate [ground], And to cause the tender grass to spring forth?
27வெள்ளத்துக்கு நீர்க்கால்களையும், இடிமுழக்கங்களோடு வரும் மின்னலுக்கு வழிகளையும் பகுத்தவர் யார்?
28Hath the rain a father? Or who hath begotten the drops of dew?
28மழைக்கு ஒரு தகப்பனுண்டோ? பனித்துளிகளை ஜநிப்பித்தவர் யார்?
29Out of whose womb came the ice? And the hoary frost of heaven, who hath gendered it?
29உறைந்த தண்ணீர் யாருடைய வயிற்றிலிருந்து புறப்படுகிறது? ஆகாயத்தினுடைய உறைந்த பனியைப் பெற்றவர் யார்?
30The waters hide themselves [and become] like stone, And the face of the deep is frozen.
30ஜலம் கல்லுருவங்கொண்டு மறைந்து, ஆழத்தின் முகம் கெட்டியாய் உறைந்திருக்கிறதே.
31Canst thou bind the cluster of the Pleiades, Or loose the bands of Orion?
31அறுமீன் நட்சத்திரத்தின் சுகிர்த சம்பந்தத்தை நீ இணைக்கக்கூடுமோ? அல்லது மிருகசீரிஷத்தின் கட்டுகளை அவிழ்ப்பாயோ?
32Canst thou lead forth the Mazzaroth in their season? Or canst thou guide the Bear with her train?
32இராசிகளை அதினதின் காலத்திலே வரப்பண்ணுவாயோ? துருவச்சக்கர நட்சத்திரத்தையும் அதைச் சேர்ந்த நட்சத்திரங்களையும் வழிநடத்துவாயோ?
33Knowest thou the ordinances of the heavens? Canst thou establish the dominion thereof in the earth?
33வானத்தின் நியமங்களை நீ அறிவாயோ? அது பூமியையாளும் ஆளுகையை நீ திட்டம்பண்ணுவாயோ?
34Canst thou lift up thy voice to the clouds, That abundance of waters may cover thee?
34ஏராளமான தண்ணீர் உன்மேல் சொரியவேணும் என்று உன் சத்தத்தை மேகங்கள் பரியந்தம் உயர்த்துவாயோ?
35Canst thou send forth lightnings, that they may go, And say unto thee, Here we are?
35நீ மின்னல்களை அழைத்தனுப்பி, அவைகள் புறப்பட்டுவந்து: இதோ, இங்கேயிருக்கிறோம் என்று உனக்குச் சொல்லும்படி செய்வாயோ?
36Who hath put wisdom in the inward parts? Or who hath given understanding to the mind?
36அந்தக்கரணங்களில் ஞானத்தை வைத்தவர் யார்? உள்ளத்தில் புத்தியைக் கொடுத்தவர் யார்?
37Who can number the clouds by wisdom? Or who can pour out the bottles of heaven,
37ஞானத்தினாலே கொடிமாசிகளை எண்ணுபவர் யார்?
38When the dust runneth into a mass, And the clods cleave fast together?
38தூளானது ஏகபாளமாகவும், மண்கட்டிகள் ஒன்றோடொன்று ஒட்டிக்கொள்ளவும், ஆகாயத்துருத்திகளிலுள்ள தண்ணீரைப் பொழியப்பண்ணுகிறவர் யார்?
39Canst thou hunt the prey for the lioness, Or satisfy the appetite of the young lions,
39நீ சிங்கத்துக்கு இரையை வேட்டையாடி,
40When they couch in their dens, [And] abide in the covert to lie in wait?
40சிங்கக்குட்டிகள் தாங்கள் தங்கும் இடங்களிலே கிடந்து கெபியிலே பதிவிருக்கிறபோது, அவைகளின் ஆசையைத் திருப்தியாக்குவாயோ?
41Who provideth for the raven his prey, When his young ones cry unto God, [And] wander for lack of food?
41காக்கைக்குஞ்சுகள் தேவனை நோக்கிக் கூப்பிட்டு, ஆகாரமில்லாமல் பறந்து அலைகிறபோது, அவைகளுக்கு இரையைச் சவதரித்துக் கொடுக்கிறவர் யார்?
