¹उ दिनन जबहिं चेलन क गनती बाढ़त रही, तउ यूनानी बोलवइया अउर इब्रानी बोलवइया यहूदियन मँ एक झगड़ा होइ गवा काहेकि रोजाना विधवावन क चीज बाँटइ मँ ओनकइ सुधि नाहीं लीन्ह जात।

¹Now in those days, when the number of the disciples was multiplying, a complaint arose from the Hellenists The Hellenists used Greek language and culture, even though they were also of Hebrew descent. against the Hebrews, because their widows were neglected in the daily service.

²तउ बारहुँ प्रेरिन क समूची मण्डली क एक साथे बोलाइके कहेन, “हम सबइ बरे परमेस्सर क बचन क सेवकइ तजिके खिलाने क इन्तजाम करब नीक नाहीं अहइ।

²The twelve summoned the multitude of the disciples and said, “It is not appropriate for us to forsake the word of God and serve tables.

³भाइयन, आपन मँ स सात नामी मनइयन क पवित्तर आतिमा अउर सूझबूझ स भरा भवा सात मनइयन क चुनिल्या। हम ओनका इ कामे क हकदार बनइ देइ।

³Therefore select from among you, brothers, seven men of good report, full of the Holy Spirit and of wisdom, whom we may appoint over this business.

⁴अउर आपन आपका पराथना अउर बचन क सेवा क कामे मँ जिअरा लगाइ क राखब।”

⁴But we will continue steadfastly in prayer and in the ministry of the word.”

⁵इ सुझावे स समूचइ मण्डली बहोत खुस भइ। तउ उ पचे बिसवास अउर पवित्तर आतिमा स भरा भवा स्तिफनुस नाउँ क मनई क अउर फिलिप्पुस, प्रखुरुस, नीकानोर, तिमोन, परमिनास अउर अन्ताकिया क निकुलाऊस क यहूदी धरम क कबूले रहा, चुन लिहेस।

⁵These words pleased the whole multitude. They chose Stephen, a man full of faith and of the Holy Spirit, Philip, Prochorus, Nicanor, Timon, Parmenas, and Nicolaus, a proselyte of Antioch;

⁶अउर इ मनइयन क फिन उ पचे प्रेरितन क समन्वा हाजिर कइ दिहन। प्रेरितन पराथना किहेन अउर ओन पइ हाथ धरेन।

⁶whom they set before the apostles. When they had prayed, they laid their hands on them.

⁷इ तरह परमेस्सर क बचन संचरइ लाग अउर यरूसलेम मँ चलेन क गनती बहोत बाढ़इ लाग। याजकन क एक बहोत बड़ा गुट भी इ मत क मानइ लाग।

⁷The word of God increased and the number of the disciples multiplied in Jerusalem exceedingly. A great company of the priests were obedient to the faith.

⁸स्तिफनुस एक अइसा मनई रहा जउन अनुग्रह अउर सामर्थ स भरपूर रहा। उ मनइयन क बीच बड़ा बड़ा अद्भुत कारजन अउर अद्भुत चीन्हन परगट करत रहा।

⁸Stephen, full of faith and power, performed great wonders and signs among the people.

⁹मुला अजाद कीन्ह भवा अइसा कहवावात मनइयन मँ स कछू लोग जउन कुरेनी अउर सिकन्दरिया, अउर किलिकिया अउर एसिया स आवा भएन यहूदी रहेन, उ पचे ओनकइ खिलाफ बहस करइ लागेन।

⁹But some of those who were of the synagogue called “The Libertines,” and of the Cyrenians, of the Alexandrians, and of those of Cilicia and Asia arose, disputing with Stephen.

¹⁰मुला उ जउन बुद्धिमानी अउर आतिमा स बोलत रहा, उ पचे ओकरे समन्वा नाहीं टिक पाएन।

¹⁰They weren’t able to withstand the wisdom and the Spirit by which he spoke.

¹¹फिन उ पचे कछू क लालच दइके कहवाएऩ, “हम पचे मूसा अउर परमेस्सर क खिलाफ एँका बेज्जत स भरा सबद कहत सुना ह।”

¹¹Then they secretly induced men to say, “We have heard him speak blasphemous words against Moses and God.”

¹²इ तरह उ पचे जनता क बुजुर्ग यहूदी नेतन क, अउर धरम सास्तिरियन लोगन्क हुस्काइ दिहेन। फिन उ पचे ओका आइके धइ लिहेन अउर सबन स सर्वोच्च यहूदी महासभा क समन्वा लइ आएन।

¹²They stirred up the people, the elders, and the scribes, and came against him and seized him, and brought him in to the council,

¹³उ पचे उ सब लबार गवाह हाजिर किहेन जउन कहेन, “इ मनई इ पवित्तर ठउर अउर व्यवस्था क खिलाफ बोलत बालत कबहुँ रूकत नाहीं बा।

¹³and set up false witnesses who said, “This man never stops speaking blasphemous words against this holy place and the law.

¹⁴हम ऍका कहत सुना ह कि इ नासरी ईसू इ जगह क नास कइ देइ अउर मूसा जउन रीति-रिवाज क हमका दिहे अहइ ओका बदल देइ।”

¹⁴For we have heard him say that this Jesus of Nazareth will destroy this place, and will change the customs which Moses delivered to us.”

¹⁵फिन सबन स सर्वोच्च यहूदी महासभा मँ बइठा भए सबहिं मनइयन मँ ओका धियान स लखा तउ पावा कि ओकर मुहँना कउनो सरगदूत क नाई देखाई देत रहा।

¹⁵All who sat in the council, fastening their eyes on him, saw his face like it was the face of an angel.
