¹तब पिलातुस ईसू क पकड़वाइके कोड़ा लगवाएस।

¹So Pilate then took Jesus, and flogged him.

²फिन सिपाहियन काँटेदार टहनी क मोड़के मुकुट बनाएन अउर ओकरे मूँड़े प रख दिहेन। अउर ओका बैजनी रंग क कपड़ा पहिराएन।

²The soldiers twisted thorns into a crown, and put it on his head, and dressed him in a purple garment.

³अउर ओकरे पास आइ आइ क कहइ लागेन, “यहूदियन क राजा जिअत रह!” अउर ओका झापड़ मारइ लागेन।

³They kept saying, “Hail, King of the Jews!” and they kept slapping him.

⁴पिलातुस एक बार फिन बाहेर आवा अउर ओनसे कहेस, “देख! मइँ तोहरे पास ओका फिन बाहर लियावत अही जइसे कि तू जान सका कि मइँ ओहमाँ कउनो खोट नाहीं पावा।”

⁴Then Pilate went out again, and said to them, “Behold, I bring him out to you, that you may know that I find no basis for a charge against him.”

⁵फिन ईसू बाहेर आवा। उ काँटेन क मुकुट अउर बैजनी रंग क चोगा पहिरे रहा। तब पिलातुस कहेस, “इहइ अहइ उ मनई!”

⁵Jesus therefore came out, wearing the crown of thorns and the purple garment. Pilate said to them, “Behold, the man!”

⁶जब उ पचे ओका देखेन तउ मुख्य याजकन अउर मन्दिर क पहरेदारन चिल्लाई क कहेन, “ऍका क्रूस पर चढ़ाइ द्या! एका क्रूस प चढ़ाइ द्या!” पिलातुस ओनसे कहेस, “तू ऍका लइ जा अउर क्रूस प चढ़ाइ द्या, मइँ एहमाँ कउनो खोट नाहीं पाएउँ?”

⁶When therefore the chief priests and the officers saw him, they shouted, saying, “Crucify! Crucify!” Pilate said to them, “Take him yourselves, and crucify him, for I find no basis for a charge against him.”

⁷यहूदियन जवाब दिहेन, हमार व्यवस्था कहत ह कि एका मरइ क पड़ी काहेकि अपने क परमेस्सर क पूत होइ क दावा किहे अहइ।”

⁷The Jews answered him, “We have a law, and by our law he ought to die, because he made himself the Son of God.”

⁸अब जब पिलातुस ओका इ कहत सुनेस तउ बहुत डेराइ गवा।

⁸When therefore Pilate heard this saying, he was more afraid.

⁹अउर फिन राज्यपाल क महल क अन्दर जाइके ईसू स कहेस, “तू कहाँ स आइ अहा?” मुला ईसू कउनो जवाब नाहीं दिहेस।

⁹He entered into the Praetorium again, and said to Jesus, “Where are you from?” But Jesus gave him no answer.

¹⁰फिन पिलातुस ओसे कहेस, “का तू हमसे बात नाहीं करइ चाहत अहा? का तोहका पता नाहीं अहइ किइ मोरे अधिकार मँ अहइ कि तोहका मइँ छोड़ देउँ अउर तोहका क्रूस प चढ़ावइ क अधिकार मोका मिला अहइ।”

¹⁰Pilate therefore said to him, “Aren’t you speaking to me? Don’t you know that I have power to release you, and have power to crucify you?”

¹¹ईसू ओका जवाब दिहेस, तोहार मोरे ऊपर अधिकार तब तक नाहीं होइ सकत जब तलक परमेस्सर तोहका उ अधिकार नाहीं देत। इ बरे जउन मनइ तोहका मोरे हवाले किहे अहइ, उ तोहसे भी बड़ा पापी अहइ।”

¹¹Jesus answered, “You would have no power at all against me, unless it were given to you from above. Therefore he who delivered me to you has greater sin.”

¹²इ सनिके पिलातुस ओका छोड़इ क कउनो उपाय सोचइ लाग। मुला यहूदियन चिल्लाय लागेन, “जदि तू एका छोड़ देब्या तउ तू कैसर क दोस्त न अह्या कउनो मनई जउन खुदइ क राजा कहइ उ कैसर क विरोधी अहइ।”

¹²At this, Pilate was seeking to release him, but the Jews cried out, saying, “If you release this man, you aren’t Caesar’s friend! Everyone who makes himself a king speaks against Caesar!”

¹³जब पिलातुस इ सब्दन क सुनेस तउ उ ईसू क बाहेर उ जगह लइ गवा जउने क “पाथर क चउतरा।” कहा जात रहा। (इब्रानी भाखा मँ ऍका “गब्बाता” कहा गवा ह।) अउर हुवाँ निआव क आसन प बइठ गवा।

¹³When Pilate therefore heard these words, he brought Jesus out, and sat down on the judgment seat at a place called “The Pavement,” but in Hebrew, “Gabbatha.”

¹⁴इ दिन फसह क त्यौहार क तैयारी क दिन रहा। दुपहरिया होइवाली रही। पिलातुस यहूदियन स कहेस, “इ रहा तोहार राजा।”

¹⁴Now it was the Preparation Day of the Passover, at about the sixth hour. “the sixth hour” would have been 6:00 AM according to the Roman timekeeping system, or noon for the Jewish timekeeping system in use, then. He said to the Jews, “Behold, your King!”

¹⁵उ सबेन्ह चिल्लाएऩ, “ऍका लइ जा! ऍका लइ जा! ऍका क्रूस प चढ़ाय द्या!” पिलातुस ओनसे कहेस, “का तू पचे चाहत अहा कि तोहरे राजा क मइँ क्रूस प चढ़ाउँ?” इ सुनिके मुख्ययाजकन जवाब दिहेन, “कैसार क छोड़के हमार कउनो दूसर राजा नाहीं अहइ।”

¹⁵They cried out, “Away with him! Away with him! Crucify him!” Pilate said to them, “Shall I crucify your King?” The chief priests answered, “We have no king but Caesar!”

¹⁶फिन पिलातुस ओका क्रूस प चढ़ाइ क बरे ओनका सौंपि दिहेस। इ तरीके स ईसू क हिरासत मँ लइ लीन्ह गवा।

¹⁶So then he delivered him to them to be crucified. So they took Jesus and led him away.

¹⁷आपन क्रूस उठाइके उ अइसी जगह प गवा जेका “खोपड़ी क जगह कहा जात ह। (इब्रानी भाखा मँ ऍका “गुलगुता” कहा जात ह।)

¹⁷He went out, bearing his cross, to the place called “The Place of a Skull,” which is called in Hebrew, “Golgotha,”

¹⁸हुवाँ स उ सबेन्ह ओका दुइ जने क साथे क्रूस प चढ़ाइ दिहेन। एक इ तरफ, दूसर दूसरी तरफ अउर बीज मँ ईसू रहा।

¹⁸where they crucified him, and with him two others, on either side one, and Jesus in the middle.

¹⁹पिलातुस दोखपत्र क्रूस प लगाइ दिहस। जेहमॉ लिखा रहा, “ईसू नासरी, यहूदी क राजा।”

¹⁹Pilate wrote a title also, and put it on the cross. There was written, “JESUS OF NAZARETH, THE KING OF THE JEWS.”

²⁰तमाम यहूदियन उ दोखपत्र क पढ़ेन्ह, काहेकि जहाँ ईसू क क्रूस प चढ़ावा ग रहा, उ जगह सहर क लगे रही। अउर उ ऐलान इब्रानी, यूनानी अउर लातीनी भाखा मँ लिखा रहा।

²⁰Therefore many of the Jews read this title, for the place where Jesus was crucified was near the city; and it was written in Hebrew, in Latin, and in Greek.

²¹तब मुख्य यहूदी याजकन पिलातुस स कहेन, “‘यहूदी क राजा’ न लिखा, मुला इ लिखा, ‘इ मनई कहे रहा यहूदी क राजा मइँ अहउँ।”‘

²¹The chief priests of the Jews therefore said to Pilate, “Don’t write, ‘The King of the Jews,’ but, ‘he said, I am King of the Jews.’”

²²पिलातुस जवाब दिहेस, “मइँ जउन कछू लिख दीन्ह, तउ लिख दीन्ह।”

²²Pilate answered, “What I have written, I have written.”

²³जब सिपाही ईसू क क्रूस प चढ़ाइ चुकेन तउ उ सबेन्ह ओकर कपरा लिहेन, अउर ओका चार टुकड़ा मँ बाँट दिहेन। ओकर एक-एक टुकड़ा एक-एक सिपाही लइ लिहेस। उ पचे कुरतउ उतरवाइ लिहेन। इ बरे कि उ कुरता ऊपर स नीचे तक बुना रहा, ओकर सिलाई नाहीं भइ रही।

²³Then the soldiers, when they had crucified Jesus, took his garments and made four parts, to every soldier a part; and also the coat. Now the coat was without seam, woven from the top throughout.

²⁴इ बरे उ पचे आपस मँ कहेन, “ऍका न फाड़ा जाइ, ऍका कउन पावइ, एकरे बरे परची डाली जाइ।” जइसे कि पवित्तर सास्तर क इ बात पूरी होइ जाइ, “उ पचे मोर कपरा आपस मँ बाट लिहेन अउर मोरे अंगिया क बरे परची डाएन।” भजन संहिता 22:18 इ बरे सिपाहियन वइसेन करेन।

²⁴Then they said to one another, “Let’s not tear it, but cast lots for it to decide whose it will be,” that the Scripture might be fulfilled, which says, “They parted my garments among them. For my cloak they cast lots.” Psalm 22:18 Therefore the soldiers did these things.

²⁵ईसू क क्रूस क लगे ओकर महतारी, मउसी क्लोपास क पत्नी मरियम, अउर मरियम मगदलीनी ठाढ़ रहिन।

²⁵But there were standing by the cross of Jesus his mother, and his mother’s sister, Mary the wife of Clopas, and Mary Magdalene.

²⁶ईसू जब अपनी महतारी अउर अपने पियारा चेला क पास खड़ा लखेस तउ अपनी महतारी स कहेस, “पिआरी अम्माँ, इ रहा तोहार बेटवा।”

²⁶Therefore when Jesus saw his mother, and the disciple whom he loved standing there, he said to his mother, “Woman, behold your son!”

²⁷फिन उ अपने चेला स कहेस, “इ अहइ तोहार महतारी।” अउर फिन उहइ समइ उ चेला ओका अपने घरे लइ गवा।

²⁷Then he said to the disciple, “Behold, your mother!” From that hour, the disciple took her to his own home.

²⁸ऍकरे बाद ईसू जान लिहेस कि सब कछू पूरा होइ चुका अहइ। फिन इ बरे कि पवित्तर सास्तर क बात सही उतरइ, उ कहेस, “मइँ पियासा अहउँ।”

²⁸After this, Jesus, seeing NU, TR read “knowing” instead of “seeing” that all things were now finished, that the Scripture might be fulfilled, said, “I am thirsty.”

²⁹हुवाँ सिरका स भरा एक ठु वासन धरा रहा। इ बरे उ सबेन्ह एक स्पंज क सिरका मँ पूरी तरह डुबोइके हिसप (कंटिजर क पेड़) क टहनी प रखेन अउर ऊपर उठाइ क ओकरे मुँह स लगाएन।

²⁹Now a vessel full of vinegar was set there; so they put a sponge full of the vinegar on hyssop, and held it at his mouth.

³⁰फिन जब ईसू सिरका लइ लिहेस तउ उ बोलेस, “पूरा होइ गवा।” तउ उ आपन सिर झुकाइ दिहेस अउर परान छोड़ दिहेस।

³⁰When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, he said, “It is finished.” He bowed his head, and gave up his spirit.

³¹अगला दिन फसह क तैयारी क दिन रहा। सबित क दिन ओनकइ लास क्रूस प न लटका रहइ कोहेकि सबित क दिन बहुत महत्व क दिन होत ह ऍकरे बरे यहूदियन पिलातुस स कहेन कि उ आज्ञा देइ कि ओकर टांग तोड़ दीन्ह जाइँ अउर ओकर लास हुवाँ स हटाइ दीन्ह जाइ।

³¹Therefore the Jews, because it was the Preparation Day, so that the bodies wouldn’t remain on the cross on the Sabbath (for that Sabbath was a special one), asked of Pilate that their legs might be broken, and that they might be taken away.

³²तउ सिपाही आएन अउर सबसे पहले एक मनई क अउर फिन दूसरे क जउने क साथे साथे क्रूस प चढ़ावा ग रहा, टाँग तोड़ डाएन।

³²Therefore the soldiers came, and broke the legs of the first, and of the other who was crucified with him;

³³मुला जब उ ईसू क लगे आएन, तउ लखेन कि उ तउ पहिलेन मर चुका अहइ। इ बरे ओकर टाँग नाहीं तोड़ेन।

³³but when they came to Jesus, and saw that he was already dead, they didn’t break his legs.

³⁴मुला ओहमाँ स एक सिपाही ईसू क पंचरे मँ आपन भाला भोंक दिहेस, जउने मँ स तुरन्त लहू अउर पानी निकरइ लाग।

³⁴However one of the soldiers pierced his side with a spear, and immediately blood and water came out.

³⁵(जउन एका देखे रहा उ साच्छी दिहेस अउर ओकर साच्छी सच्ची अहइ, उ जानत ह कि उ सच्ची बात कहत अहइ ताकि तू सबेन्ह बिसवास करा।)

³⁵He who has seen has testified, and his testimony is true. He knows that he tells the truth, that you may believe.

³⁶इ एह बरे भवा कि पवित्तर सास्तर क बात पूरी होइ सकइ, “ओकर कउनो हड्डी तोड़ी न जाई”

³⁶For these things happened, that the Scripture might be fulfilled, “A bone of him will not be broken.” Exodus 12:46; Numbers 9:12; Psalm 34:20

³⁷अउर पवित्तर सास्तर मँ लिखा अहइ कि, “जे ओकरे भाला भोंकेस उ पचे ओकरी तरफ तकिहीं।”

³⁷Again another Scripture says, “They will look on him whom they pierced.” Zechariah 12:10

³⁸ऍकरे बाद अरमतियाह क यूसुफ (जउन ईसू क चेला रहा, मुला यहूदियन क डर क मारे खूद क छिपाए रहत रहा।) पिलातुस स पराथना करेस कि ओका ईसू क ल्हास लइ जाइ क इजाजत दइ देइ। इ बरे उ ओकर ल्हास लइ गवा।

³⁸After these things, Joseph of Arimathaea, being a disciple of Jesus, but secretly for fear of the Jews, asked of Pilate that he might take away Jesus’ body. Pilate gave him permission. He came therefore and took away his body.

³⁹निकुदेमुस, जउन ईसू क लगे रात क पहले आइ रहा, हुवाँ लगभग तीस किलो मिला जुला गंधरस अउर एलवा (जइसे कि ल्हास मँ सड़न न आवइ पावइ) लइके आवा। फिन उ पचे ईसू क ल्हासे क लइ गएन।

³⁹Nicodemus, who at first came to Jesus by night, also came bringing a mixture of myrrh and aloes, about a hundred Roman pounds. 100 Roman pounds of 12 ounces each, or about 72 pounds, or 33 Kilograms.

⁴⁰अउर यहूदियन क ल्हास गाड़इ क व्यवस्था क अनुसार ओका महकइवाली तमाम चीज क साथ कफन मँ लपेट दिहेन।

⁴⁰So they took Jesus’ body, and bound it in linen cloths with the spices, as the custom of the Jews is to bury.

⁴¹जहाँ प ईसू क क्रूस प चढ़ावा ग रहा, हुवाँ एक ठु बगीचा रहा। अउर उ बगीचा मँ एक ठु नई कब्र रही जउने मँ अब तक केउँ क नाहीं रखा ग रहा।

⁴¹Now in the place where he was crucified there was a garden. In the garden was a new tomb in which no man had ever yet been laid.

⁴²उ दिन सबित क तैयारी क दिन सुक्रवार रहा, अउर उ कब्र बहोतई लगे रही, इ बरे उ सबेन्ह ईसू क उहइ मँ रख दिहेन।

⁴²Then because of the Jews’ Preparation Day (for the tomb was near at hand) they laid Jesus there.
