2 Peter

3

1Maiteác, ia bigarren epistola haur scribatzen drauçuet, ceinez iratzartzen baitut aduertimenduz çuen adimendu chahua.
1This, now, beloved, a second letter to you I write, in both which I stir up your pure mind in reminding [you],
2Orhoit caretencát Propheta sainduéz aitzinetic erran içan diraden, hitzéz, eta gure manamenduaz, cein baicara Iaunarén eta Saluadorearen Apostolu.
2to be mindful of the sayings said before by the holy prophets, and of the command of us the apostles of the Lord and Saviour,
3Haur lehenic daquiçuelaric: ecen ethorriren diradela azqueneco egunetan truffariac, bere guthicia proprién araura ebilten diradela.
3this first knowing, that there shall come in the latter end of the days scoffers, according to their own desires going on,
4Eta dioitela, Non da haren aduenimenduco promessa? ecen Aitác lokartu içan diradenaz gueroztic, gauça guciéc hunela continuatzen duté creationearen hatseandanic.
4and saying, `Where is the promise of his presence? for since the fathers did fall asleep, all things so remain from the beginning of the creation;`
5Ecen haur bere nahiz ignoratzen duté, nola ceruèc lehenagodanic bere içatea vkan dutén, eta lurrac consistitzen celaric vr barnean eta vr artean, Iaincoaren hitzaz.
5for this is unobserved by them willingly, that the heavens were of old, and the earth out of water and through water standing together by the word of God,
6Halacotz orduco mundua vr dilubio batez estali içanic galdu içan da.
6through which the then world, by water having been deluged, was destroyed;
7Baina orain diraden ceruäc eta lurra hitz beraz reseruaturic suco beguiratzen dirade iudicioaren eta guiçon gaichtoén destructionearen eguneco.
7and the present heavens and the earth, by the same word are treasured, for fire being kept to a day of judgment and destruction of the impious men.
8Baina hunez etzaretela ignorant, maiteác, ecen egun-bat Iauna beithan milla vrthe beçala, eta milla vrthe egun-bat beçala diradela.
8And this one thing let not be unobserved by you, beloved, that one day with the Lord [is] as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day;
9Eztu berancen promettatu duen Iaunac (batzuc berance estimatzen duten beçala) baina patient da guregana, ez nahiz nehor gal dadin, baina guciac emendamendutara datocen.
9the Lord is not slow in regard to the promise, as certain count slowness, but is long-suffering to us, not counselling any to be lost but all to pass on to reformation,
10Baina ethorriren da Iaunaren eguna, ohoina gauaz beçala, ceinetan ceruäc habarrotsequin iraganen baitirade: eta elementac beroz deseguinen dirade, eta lurra, eta hartaco obra guciac choil erreren dirade.
10and it will come — the day of the Lord — as a thief in the night, in which the heavens with a rushing noise will pass away, and the elements with burning heat be dissolved, and earth and the works in it shall be burnt up.
11Beraz gauça hauc guciac deseguin behar diradenaren gainean, nolaco behar duçue içan conuersatione saindutan eta pietatezco obratan?
11All these, then, being dissolved, what kind of persons doth it behove you to be in holy behaviours and pious acts?
12Beguira çaudetela, eta lehiatzen çaretela Iaincoaren egunaren aduenimendura, ceinetan ceruäc irachequiric deseguinen baitirade, eta elementac beroz vrthuren?
12waiting for and hasting to the presence of the day of God, by which the heavens, being on fire, shall be dissolved, and the elements with burning heat shall melt;
13Baina promessaren araura ceru berrién eta lur berriaren beguira gaude ceinétan iustitia habitatzen baita.
13and for new heavens and a new earth according to His promise we do wait, in which righteousness doth dwell;
14Halacotz, maiteác, gauça hauén beguira çaudetela, diligentia eçarçue macula gabe eta reprotchu gabe harçaz eriden çaitezten baquerequin.
14wherefore, beloved, these things waiting for, be diligent, spotless and unblameable, by Him to be found in peace,
15Eta gure Iaunaren patientiá saluamendu estima eçaçue: Paul gure anaye maiteac-ere hari eman içan çayón sapientiaren araura scribatu vkan drauçuen beçala:
15and the long-suffering of our Lord count ye salvation, according as also our beloved brother Paul — according to the wisdom given to him — did write to you,
16Quasi bere epistola gucietan nola punctu hauçaz minço baita: ceinétan baitirade batzu aditzeco gaitzic, ignorantéc eta fermetate gabéc makurtzen dituztenic, berce Scripturac-ere beçala, bere buruén destructionetan.
16as also in all the epistles, speaking in them concerning these things, among which things are certain hard to be understood, which the untaught and unstable do wrest, as also the other Writings, unto their own destruction.
17Çuec beraz, maiteác, engoitic aduertituac çaretenaz gueroztic, beguirauçue abominablén enganioz bercéquin eraman içanic, çuen fermetatetic eror etzaitezten.
17Ye, then, beloved, knowing before, take heed, lest, together with the error of the impious being led away, ye may fall from your own stedfastness,
18Baina auança çaitezte Iesus Christ gure Iaunaren eta Saluadorearen gratián eta eçagutzean: ceini dela gloria orain eta eternitateco egunerano. Amen.
18and increase ye in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ; to him [is] the glory both now, and to the day of the age! Amen.
