1Gauça hauc erran drauzquiçuet scandaliza etzaiteztençát:
1`These things I have spoken to you, that ye may not be stumbled,
2Egotziren çaituzte synagoguetaric: baina ethorriren da demborá non norc-ere hilen baitzaituzte vste vkanen baitu cerbitzu eguiten draucala Iaincoari.
2out of the synagogues they will put you; but an hour doth come, that every one who hath killed you, may think to offer service unto God;
3Eta gauça hauc eguinen drauzquiçue, ceren ezpaitute eçagutu Aita, ez ni.
3and these things they will do to you, because they did not know the Father, nor me.
4Baina gauça hauc erran drauzquiçuet cuey, ordu hura ethorri datenean, orhoit çaiteztençat heçaz, ecen nic erran drauzquiçuedala: badaric-ere gauça hauc hatseandanic eztrauzquiçuet erran, ceren çuequin bainincén.
4`But these things I have spoken to you, that when the hour may come, ye may remember them, that I said [them] to you, and these things to you from the beginning I did not say, because I was with you;
5Baina orain banoa ni igorri nauenaganát, eta çuetaric nehorc eznau interrogatzan, Norat oha?
5and now I go away to Him who sent me, and none of you doth ask me, Whither dost thou go?
6Baina ceren gauca hauc erran drauzquiçuedan, tristitiác bethe du çuen bihotza,
6but because these things I have said to you, the sorrow hath filled your heart.
7Baina nic eguia erraiten drauçuet, behar duçue ni ioan nadin: ecen baldin ioan ezpanadi, Consolaçalea ezta ethorriren çuetara: baina baldin ioan banadi, igorriren dut hura çuetara.
7`But I tell you the truth; it is better for you that I go away, for if I may not go away, the Comforter will not come unto you, and if I go on, I will send Him unto you;
8Eta dathorrenean harc vençuturen du mundua bekatuz eta iustitiaz eta iugemenduz.
8and having come, He will convict the world concerning sin, and concerning righteousness, and concerning judgment;
9Bekatuz diot, ceren ezpaitute ni baithan sinhesten.
9concerning sin indeed, because they do not believe in me;
10Eta iustitiaz, ceren neure Aitaganát ioaiten bainaiz, eta guehiagoric eznauçue ikussiren.
10and concerning righteousness, because unto my Father I go away, and no more do ye behold me;
11Eta iugemenduz, ceren mundu hunetaco princea condemnatu baita.
11and concerning judgment, because the ruler of this world hath been judged.
12Oraino anhitz gauça dut çuey erraiteco, baina ecin egar ditzaqueçue orain.
12`I have yet many things to say to you, but ye are not able to bear [them] now;
13Baina dathorrenean hura, Spiritu eguiazcoa diot, harc guidaturen çaituzte eguia gucitara: ecen ezta minçaturen bere buruz, baina cer-ere ençun baituque erranen du: eta ethorteco diraden gauçác declaraturen drauzquiçue.
13and when He may come — the Spirit of truth — He will guide you to all the truth, for He will not speak from Himself, but as many things as He will hear He will speak, and the coming things He will tell you;
14Harc nau glorificaturen: ecen enetic harturen du, eta declaraturen drauçue.
14He will glorify me, because of mine He will take, and will tell to you.
15Aitac dituen gauça guciac, ene dirade: halacotz erran drauçuet ecen enetic harturen duela eta declaraturen drauçuela.
15`All things, as many as the Father hath, are mine; because of this I said, That of mine He will take, and will tell to you;
16Dembora gutibat, eta eznauçue ikussiren: eta berriz dembora gutibat, eta ikussiren nauçue: ecen ni banoa Aitaganát.
16a little while, and ye do not behold me, and again a little while, and ye shall see me, because I go away unto the Father.`
17Erran ceçaten bada haren discipuluetaric batzuc elkarren artean, Cer da erraiten draucun haur, Dembora gutibat, eta eznauçue ikussiren: eta berriz dembora gutibat, eta ikussiren nauçue: eta, Ecen ni banoa Aitaganát.
17Therefore said [some] of his disciples one to another, `What is this that he saith to us, A little while, and ye do not behold me, and again a little while, and ye shall see me, and, Because I go away unto the Father?`
18Erraiten çuten bada, Cer da erraiten duen haur dembora gutibat? eztaquigu cer erraiten duen
18they said then, `What is this he saith — the little while? we have not known what he saith.`
19Eçagut ceçan bada Iesusec ecen interrogatu nahi çutela, eta erran ciecén, Elkarren artean huneçaz galdez çaudete, ceren erran baitut, Dembora gutibat eta eznauçue ikussiren: eta berriz dembora gutibat eta ikussiren nauçue.
19Jesus, therefore, knew that they were wishing to ask him, and he said to them, `Concerning this do ye seek one with another, because I said, A little while, and you do not behold me, and again a little while, and ye shall see me?
20Eguiaz eguiaz erraiten drauçuet, nigar eta lamentatione eguinen duçue çuec, eta mundua bozturen da: eta çuec triste içanen çarete, baina çuen tristitiá conuertituren da bozcariotara.
20verily, verily, I say to you, that ye shall weep and lament, and the world will rejoice; and ye shall be sorrowful, but your sorrow joy will become.
21Emazteac, ertzen denean dolore du, ceren haren ordua ethorri baita: baina erdi denean haourtcho batez, guehiagoric ezta doloreaz orhoit, bozcarioz ceren guiçombat mundura iayo daten.
21`The woman, when she may bear, hath sorrow, because her hour did come, and when she may bear the child, no more doth she remember the anguish, because of the joy that a man was born to the world.
22Çuec-ere bada orain tristitia duçue: baina harçara ikussiren çaituztet, eta çuen bihotza alegueraturen da, eta çuen alegrançá eztu nehorc edequiren çuetaric.
22`And ye, therefore, now, indeed, have sorrow; and again I will see you, and your heart shall rejoice, and your joy no one doth take from you,
23Eta egun hartan eznauçue deusez interrogaturen. Eguiaz eguiaz erraiten drauçuet ecen cer-ere escaturen baitzaizquiote ene Aitari ene icenean, emanen drauçuela.
23and in that day ye will question me nothing; verily, verily, I say to you, as many things as ye may ask of the Father in my name, He will give you;
24Oraindrano etzarete deus escatu ene icenean: esca çaitezte, eta recebituren duçue, çuen alegrançá complitua dençát.
24till now ye did ask nothing in my name; ask, and ye shall receive, that your joy may be full.
25Gauça hauc comparationez erran drauzquiçuet: baina ethorten da ordua ezpainaitzaiçue guehiagoric comparationez minçaturen, baina claroqui neure Aitaz minçaturen bainaitzaiçue.
25`These things in similitudes I have spoken to you, but there cometh an hour when no more in similitudes will I speak to you, but freely of the Father, will tell you.
26Egun hartan ene icenean escaturen çarete, eta eztrauçuet erraiten ecen nic othoitz eguinen draucadala Aitari çuengatic.
26`In that day, in my name ye will make request, and I do not say to you that I will ask the Father for you,
27Ecen Aitac berac maite çaituzte, ceren çuec ni maite vkan bainauçue, eta sinhetsi baituçue ecen Iaincoaganic ilki naicela.
27for the Father himself doth love you, because me ye have loved, and ye have believed that I from God came forth;
28Ilki naiz Aitaganic, eta ethorri naiz mundura: harçara vtziten dut mundua, eta banoa Aitaganát.
28I came forth from the Father, and have come to the world; again I leave the world, and go on unto the Father.`
29Diotsate bere discipuluéc, Huná, orain claroqui minço aiz, eta comparationeric batre eztuc erraiten.
29His disciples say to him, `Lo, now freely thou dost speak, and no similitude speakest thou;
30Orain baceaquiagu ecen badaquizquiala gauça guciac, eta eztuc mengoa nehorc interroga açan: huneçaz diagu sinhesten ecen Iaincoaganic ilki aicela.
30now we have known that thou hast known all things, and hast no need that any one do question thee; in this we believe that from God thou didst come forth.`
31Ihardets ciecen Iesusec, Orain sinhesten duçue?
31Jesus answered them, `Now do ye believe? lo, there doth come an hour,
32Huná, ethorten da ordua, eta ia ethorri da, barreyaturen baitzarete batbedera cein çuenetarát, eta ni neuror vtziren bainauçue: baina eznaiz neuror: ecen Aita enequin da.
32and now it hath come, that ye may be scattered, each to his own things, and me ye may leave alone, and I am not alone, because the Father is with me;
33Gauça hauc erran drauzquiçuet, nitan baque duçuençat: munduan afflictione vkanen duçue: baina auçue bihotz on, ni munduari garaithu natzayo.
33these things I have spoken to you, that in me ye may have peace, in the world ye shall have tribulation, but take courage — I have overcome the world.`
