1Guiçon ancianoa ezteçala dorpequi reprehendi, baina ezhorta eçac aita beçala: gazteac, anayeac beçala:
1Rebuke not an elder sharply, but exhort [him] as a father, younger [men] as brethren,
2Emazte çaharrac, amác beçala: gazteac, arrebác beçala castitate gucirequin.
2elder women as mothers, younger women as sisters, with all purity.
3Emazte alhargunac ohoraitzac, eguiazqui alhargun diradenac.
3Honour widows who are really widows;
4Baina baldin cembeit emazte alhargunec haourric, edo ilobassoric badu, ikas beçate lehenic berén etche proprira pietateren eracusten, eta burhassoetara ordainaren rendatzen: ecen haour duc on eta placent Iaincoaren aitzinean.
4but if any widow have children or descendants, let them learn first to be pious as regards their own house, and to render a return on their side to [their] parents; for this is acceptable in the sight of God.
5Bada eguiazqui alhargun denac eta bera azquendu içan denac sperança dic Iaincoa baithan, eta perseueratzen dic othoitzetan eta orationetan gau eta egun.
5Now she who [is] a widow indeed, and is left alone, has put [her] hope in God, and continues in supplications and prayers night and day.
6Baina deliciosqui vici dena, viciric hila duc.
6But she that lives in habits of self-indulgence is dead [while] living.
7Gauça hauc bada denuntiaitzac, irreprehensible diradençát.
7And these things enjoin, that they may be irreproachable.
8Eta baldin edoceinec beréz eta principalqui etchecoéz artharic ezpadu, fedeaz vkatu dic, eta duc infidela baino gaichtoago.
8But if any one does not provide for his own, and specially for those of [his] house, he has denied the faith, and is worse than the unbeliever.
9Emazte alharguna hauta bedi ez hiruroguey vrthe baino gutiagotacoa, senhar baten emazte içana:
9Let a widow be put upon the list, being of not less than sixty years, [having been] wife of one man,
10Obra onetan testimoniage duena: eya haourrac haci dituenez, eya estrangerac alogeatu dituenez, eya sainduén oinac ikuci dituenez, eya affligituac aiutatu dituenez, eya obra on orori ardura iarreiqui içan çayonez.
10borne witness to in good works, if she have brought up children, if she have exercised hospitality, if she have washed saints' feet, if she have imparted relief to the distressed, if she have diligently followed every good work.
11Baina alhargun gazteagoac refusaitzac: ecen bridá largatu dutenean Christen contra, ezcondu nahi dituc:
11But younger widows decline; for when they grow wanton against Christ, they desire to marry,
12Bere condemnationea dutelaric, ceren bere lehen fedea iraitzi vkan baituté.
12being guilty, because they have cast off their first faith.
13Eta guehiago, alfer egoile-ere diradelaric ikasten dié etchez etche ebilten: eta eztituc solament alfer egoile, baina edasle-ere, eta curioso, behar eztiraden gaucéz dadassatelaric.
13And, at the same time, they learn also [to be] idle, going about to people's houses; and not only idle, but also gossipers and meddlers, speaking things not becoming.
14Nahi diat bada gazteac ezcon ditecen, haour daguiten, etchea goberna deçaten, occasioneric batre etsayari eztemoten gaizqui erraiteco.
14I will therefore that the younger marry, bear children, rule the house, give no occasion to the adversary in respect of reproach.
15Ecen ia baztu itzuli içan dituc Satanen ondoan.
15For already some have turned aside after Satan.
16Baldin edocein fidelec edo cembeit fidelsac baditu emazte alhargunac, aiuta bitza hec, eta eztadin carga Eliçá, eguiazqui alhargun diradenén asco dençát.
16If any believing man or woman have widows, let them impart relief to them, and let not the assembly be charged, that it may impart relief to those [that are] widows indeed.
17Vngui presiditzen duten Ancianoac ohore doblaren digne estima bitez: principalqui hitzean eta doctrinán trabaillatzen diradenac.
17Let the elders who take the lead [among the saints] well be esteemed worthy of double honour, specially those labouring in word and teaching;
18Ecen Scripturác erraiten dic, Idi bihitzen ari denari eztraucac ahoa lothuren. Eta, Languilea bere sariaren digne da.
18for the scripture says, Thou shalt not muzzle an ox that treadeth out corn, and, The workman [is] worthy of his hire.
19Ancianoaren contra accusationeric ezteçála recebi biga edo hirur testimonioren azpian baicen.
19Against an elder receive not an accusation unless where there are two or three witnesses.
20Bekatu eguiten dutenac, gucién aitzinean reprehenditzac, berceac-ere baldur diradençát.
20Those that sin convict before all, that the rest also may have fear.
21Requeritzen aut Iaincoaren eta Iesus Christ Iaunaren eta Aingueru elegituén aitzinean, gauça hauc beguira ditzán, bata berceari preferitu gabe: deus eguiten eztuala alde batera makurtuz.
21I testify before God and Christ Jesus and the elect angels, that thou keep these things without prejudice, doing nothing by favour.
22Escuac eztietzoala nehori bertan eçar, eta ezteçála communica berceren bekatuetan, eure buruä pur beguireçac.
22Lay hands quickly on no man, nor partake in others' sins. Keep thyself pure.
23Hemendic harát ezteçála vric edan, baina mahatsarno gutibatez vsat eçac, eure estomacagatic, eta eure eritassun vssuacgatic.
23Drink no longer only water, but use a little wine on account of thy stomach and thy frequent illnesses.
24Guiçon batzuén bekatuac aitzinean agueri dituc, eta aitzinean dihoaçac condemnationetan: eta batzuey ondoan-ere iarreiquiten ciaiztec.
24Of some men the sins are manifest beforehand, going before to judgment, and some also they follow after.
25Halaber obra onac-ere aitzinean agueri dituc: eta bercelaco diraden obrác, ecin estal daitezquec.
25In like manner good works also are manifest beforehand, and those that are otherwise cannot be hid.
