¹Ug si Hiram nga hari sa Tiro nagpadala ug mga sulogoon ngadto kang David, ug mga kahoy nga cedro, ug mga magtitiltil sa bato, ug mga panday, aron sa pagtukod alang kaniya ug usa ka balay.

¹Now Hiram king of Tyre sent messengers to David, and timber of cedars, with masons and carpenters, to build him an house.

²Ug nakita ni David nga si Jehova nagpahaluna kaniya nga hari sa ibabaw sa Israel; tungod kay ang iyang gingharian gibayaw, tungod sa iyang katawohan nga Israel.

²And David perceived that the LORD had confirmed him king over Israel, for his kingdom was lifted up on high, because of his people Israel.

³Ug si David midugang pagbaton ug daghang asawa sa Jerusalem; ug si David nanganak pa pagdugang ug mga anak nga lalake ug mga anak nga babaye.

³And David took more wives at Jerusalem: and David begat more sons and daughters.

⁴Ug kini mao ang mga ngalan sa mga anak nga iyang nabatonan didto sa Jerusalem: si Samua, ug si Sobab, ug si Nathan, ug si Salomon,

⁴Now these are the names of his children which he had in Jerusalem; Shammua, and Shobab, Nathan, and Solomon,

⁵Ug si Ibhar, ug si Elisua, ug si Elephelet,

⁵And Ibhar, and Elishua, and Elpalet,

⁶Ug si Noga, ug si Nepeg, ug si Japia,

⁶And Nogah, and Nepheg, and Japhia,

⁷Ug si Elisama, ug si Beeliada ug si Eliphelet.

⁷And Elishama, and Beeliada, and Eliphalet.

⁸Ug sa diha nga ang mga Filistehanon nakadungog nga si David gidihogan nga hari sa ibabaw sa tibook Israel, ang tanang mga Filistehanon nangadto sa pagpangita kang David: ug si David nakadungog mahitungod niini, ug migula batok kanila.

⁸And when the Philistines heard that David was anointed king over all Israel, all the Philistines went up to seek David. And David heard of it, and went out against them.

⁹Karon ang mga Filistehanon nangabut ug naghimo ug usa ka pagdasdas diha sa walog sa Raphaim.

⁹And the Philistines came and spread themselves in the valley of Rephaim.

¹⁰Ug si David nangutana sa Dios, nga nagaingon: Moadto ba ako batok sa mga Filistehanon? Ug itugyan mo ba sila sa akong kamot? Ug si Jehova miingon kaniya: Umadto ka kay itugyan ko sila sa imong kamot.

¹⁰And David inquired of God, saying, Shall I go up against the Philistines? And wilt thou deliver them into mine hand? And the LORD said unto him, Go up; for I will deliver them into thine hand.

¹¹Busa nangadto sila sa Baal-perasim, ug gidaug sila ni David didto: ug si David miingon: Ang Dios nagbungkag sa akong mga kaaway pinaagi sa akong kamot, sama sa pagbahinbahin sa mga katubigan. Busa ilang gitawag ang ngalan nianang dapita nga Baalperasim.

¹¹So they came up to Baalperazim; and David smote them there. Then David said, God hath broken in upon mine enemies by mine hand like the breaking forth of waters: therefore they called the name of that place Baalperazim.

¹²Ug ilang gibiyaan ang ilang mga dios didto; ug si David naghatag ug sugo, ug kini gisunog sa kalayo.

¹²And when they had left their gods there, David gave a commandment, and they were burned with fire.

¹³Ug ang mga Filistehanon naghimo pa gayud pag-usab sa usa ka pagdasdas diha sa walog.

¹³And the Philistines yet again spread themselves abroad in the valley.

¹⁴Ug si David nangutana pag-usab sa Dios; ug ang Dios miingon kaniya: Dili ka moadto sa paglutos kanila: bumalik ka gikan kanila, ug umadto ka batok kanila didto sa mga kakahoyan nga morales.

¹⁴Therefore David inquired again of God; and God said unto him, Go not up after them; turn away from them, and come upon them over against the mulberry trees.

¹⁵Ug nahitabo sa diha nga ikaw makadungog sa lanog sa paglakat sa mga kinatumyan sa mga kahoy nga morales, nga unya ikaw gumula sa pagpakiggubat; kay ang Dios migula sa unahan nimo sa pagdaug sa panon sa mga Filistehanon.

¹⁵And it shall be, when thou shalt hear a sound of going in the tops of the mulberry trees, that then thou shalt go out to battle: for God is gone forth before thee to smite the host of the Philistines.

¹⁶Ug si David naghimo sumala sa gisugo sa Dios kaniya: ug ilang gidaug ang panon sa mga Filistehanon sukad sa Gabaon bisan hangtud sa Geser.

¹⁶David therefore did as God commanded him: and they smote the host of the Philistines from Gibeon even to Gazer.

¹⁷Ug ang kabantug ni David milanog sa tanang kayutaan; ug gibutang ni Jehova ang kahadlok kaniya sa ibabaw sa tanang mga nasud.

¹⁷And the fame of David went out into all lands; and the LORD brought the fear of him upon all nations.
