¹Unya ang tibook Israel nanagtigum sa ilang kaugalingon sa tingub kang David ngadto sa Hebron, nga nanag-ingon: Ania karon, kami mao ang imong bukog ug imong unod.

¹And gathered are all Israel unto David to Hebron, saying, `Lo, thy bone and thy flesh [are] we;

²Sa miaging mga panahon, bisan sa hari pa si Saul, ikaw mao ang nagmando sa pagpagula ug nagdala sa pagpasulod sa Israel: ug si Jehova nga imong Dios namulong kanimo: Ikaw mahimong magbalantay sa akong katawohan nga Israel, ug ikaw mahimong principe sa akong katawohan nga Israel.

²even in time past, even in Saul`s being king, it is thou who art taking out and bringing in Israel, and Jehovah thy God saith to thee: Thou dost feed My people Israel, and thou art leader over My people Israel.`

³Busa ang tanang mga anciano sa Israel nangadto sa hari didto sa Hebron; ug si David naghimo sa usa ka pakigsaad uban kanila didto sa Hebron sa atubangan ni Jehova; ug ilang gidihogan si David nga hari sa ibabaw sa Israel, sumala sa pulong ni Jehova kang Samuel.

³And all the elders of Israel come in unto the king to Hebron, and David maketh with them a covenant in Hebron before Jehovah, and they anoint David for king over Israel, according to the word of Jehovah by the hand of Samuel.

⁴Ug si David ug ang tibook Israel ming-adto sa Jerusalem (nga mao ang Jebus); ug ang mga Jebusehanon, ang mga pumoluyo sa yuta didto man.

⁴And David goeth, and all Israel, to Jerusalem — it [is] Jebus — and there the Jebusite, the inhabitants of the land.

⁵Ug ang mga pumoluyo sa Jebus namulong kang David: Dili ka moanhi dinhi. Apan bisan pa niana nakuha ni David ang malig-ong salipdanan sa Sion; kini mao ang ciudad ni David.

⁵And the inhabitants of Jebus say to David, `Thou dost not come in hither;` and David captureth the fortress of Zion — it [is] the city of David.

⁶Ug si David miingon: bisan kinsa ang makadaug pag-una sa mga Jebusehanon himoong pangulo ug capitan. Ug si Joab anak nga lalake ni Sarvia miadto pag-una, ug nahimong pangulo.

⁶And David saith, `Whoever smiteth the Jebusite first doth become head and prince;` and go up first doth Joab son of Zeruiah and becometh head.

⁷Ug si David nagpuyo diha sa sulod sa malig-ong salipdanan; busa ilang gitawag kana nga ciudad ni David.

⁷And David dwelleth in the fortress, therefore they have called it, `City of David;`

⁸Ug iyang gitukod ang ciudad nga nagalibut, sukad sa Millo maglibut; ug giayo ni Joab ang ubang bahin sa ciudad.

⁸and he buildeth the city round about, from Millo, and unto the circumference, and Joab restoreth the rest of the city.

⁹Ug si David nagakadaku gayud; kay si Jehova sa mga panon nag-uban kaniya.

⁹And David goeth, going on and becoming great, and Jehovah of Hosts [is] with him.

¹⁰Karon kini mao ang mga pangulo sa mga gamhanang tawo nga diha kang David, nga nagpaila sa ilang kaugalingon nga pagkakusganon, uban kaniya sa iyang gingharian, lakip ang tibook Israel aron sa paghimo kaniya nga hari, sumala sa pulong ni Jehova mahitungod sa Israel.

¹⁰And these [are] heads of the mighty ones whom David hath, who are strengthening themselves with him in his kingdom, with all Israel, to cause him to reign, according to the word of Jehovah, over Israel.

¹¹Ug kini mao ang gidaghanon sa mga gamhanang tawo ni David: si Jasobam, anak nga lalake sa usa ka Hakmonhon, ang pangulo sa katloan; iyang gilabay ang iyang bangkaw batok sa totolo ka gatus ug gipamatay sila sa makausa.

¹¹And this [is] an account of the mighty ones whom David hath: Jashobeam son of a Hachmonite [is] head of the thirty; he is lifting up his spear against three hundred — wounded, at one time.

¹²Ug sunod kaniya mao si Eleazar anak nga lalake ni Dodo, ang Ahohitanhon, nga usa sa totolo ka gamhanang tawo.

¹²And after him [is] Eleazar son of Dodo the Ahohite, he [is] among the three mighty;

¹³Siya didto kauban ni David sa Pas-dammin, ug didto ang mga Filistehanon nanagkatapok sa paggubat, diin dihay usa ka luna nga yuta nga puno sa cebada; ug ang katawohan nangalagiw gikan sa atubangan sa mga Filistehanon.

¹³he hath been with David in Pas-Dammim, and the Philistines have been gathered there to battle, and a portion of the field is full of barley, and the people have fled from the face of the Philistines,

¹⁴Ug sila nanagtindog sa taliwala sa maong luna ug gipanalipdan nila kana, ug gipatay ang mga Filistehanon; ug giluwas sila ni Jehova sa usa ka dakung pagdaug.

¹⁴and they station themselves in the midst of the portion, and deliver it, and smite the Philistines, and Jehovah saveth — a great salvation.

¹⁵Ug totolo sa katloan ka pangulong tawo nangadto didto sa bato kang David, ngadto sa langub sa Adullam; ug ang panon sa mga Filistehanon napahiluna didto sa walog sa Raphaim.

¹⁵And three of the thirty heads go down on the rock unto David, unto the cave of Adullam, and the host of the Philistines is encamping in the valley of Rephaim,

¹⁶Ug si David dinha diay sa sulod sa malig-ong salipdanan, ug ang mga bantay nga sundalo sa mga Filistehanon didto sa Beth-lehem.

¹⁶and David [is] then in the fortress, and the station of the Philistines [is] then in Beth-Lehem,

¹⁷Ug si David gihidlaw, ug miingon: Oh nga may usa nga mohatag unta kanako ug tubig nga mainum gikan sa atabay sa Beth-lehem, nga tupad sa pultahan!

¹⁷and David longeth, and saith, `Who doth give me to drink water from the well of Beth-Lehem, that [is] at the gate!`

¹⁸Ug ang totolo mingsuot sa taliwala sa panon sa mga Filistehanon, ug mingtimba ug tubig gikan sa atabay sa Beth-lehem, nga tupad sa pultahan, ug gidala kana ngadto kang David: apan si David wala moinum niana, kondili kana gibubo niya ngadto kang Jehova,

¹⁸And the three break through the camp of the Philistines, and draw water from the well of Beth-Lehem, that [is] at the gate, and bear and bring in unto David, and David hath not been willing to drink it, and poureth it out to Jehovah,

¹⁹Ug miingon: Dios ko, idili kana kanako, nga buhaton ko kini: imnon ko ba ang dugo niining mga tawo nga nagbutang sa ilang kinabuhi sa peligro? Kay sa peligro sa ilang mga kinabuhi ilang gidala kana. Busa siya wala moinum niana. Kining mga butanga gihimo sa tolo ka gamhanang tawo.

¹⁹and saith, `Far be it from me, by my God, to do this; the blood of these men do I drink with their lives? for with their lives they have brought it;` and he was not willing to drink it; these [things] did the three mighty ones.

²⁰Ug si Abisai, ang igsoon nga lalake ni Joab, siya ang labaw sa totolo; kay iyang gilabay ang iyang bangkaw batok sa totolo ka gatus ug gipamatay sila, ug may ngalan siya sa taliwala sa totolo.

²⁰And Abishai brother of Joab, he hath been head of the three: and he is lifting up his spear against three hundred — wounded, and hath a name among three.

²¹Sa totolo, siya ang labing talahuron kay sa duha ug gihimo nga ilang capitan: apan siya wala makakab-ut sa nahaunang totolo.

²¹Of the three by the two he is honoured, and becometh their head; and unto the [first] three he hath not come.

²²Si Benaia ang anak nga lalake ni Joiada, ang anak nga lalake sa maisug nga tawo sa Cabseel, nga nakahimo sa mga buhat nga dagku, iyang gipatay ang duha ka anak nga lalake ni Ariel sa Moab: ug miadto siya usab ug mipatay sa usa ka leon sa taliwala sa usa ka gahong sa panahon sa nieve.

²²Benaiah son of Jehoiada, son of a man of valour, of great deeds, from Kabzeel: he hath smitten the two lion-like Moabites, and he hath gone down and smitten the lion in the midst of the pit, in the day of snow.

²³Ug iyang gipatay ang usa ka taga-Egipto, usa ka tawo nga daku ug lawas, lima ka maniko ang gitas-on; ug diha sa kamot sa taga-Egipto, may usa ka bangkaw nga sama sa likisan sa maghahabol; ug siya milugsong ngadto kaniya uban ang sungkod, ug giagaw ang bangbaw gikan sa kamot sa taga-Egipto, ug gipatay siya pinaagi sa iyang kaugalingong bangkaw.

²³And he hath smitten the man, the Egyptian — a man of measure, five by the cubit — and in the hand of the Egyptian [is] a spear like a beam of weavers, and he goeth down unto him with a rod, and taketh violently away the spear out of the hand of the Egyptian, and slayeth him with his own spear.

²⁴Kining mga butanga gihimo ni Benaia anak nga lalake ni Joiada, ug may usa ka ngalan siya sa taliwala sa totolo ka gamhanang tawo.

²⁴These [things] hath Benaiah son of Jehoiada done, and hath a name among the three mighty ones.

²⁵Ania karon, siya labi pang talahuron kay sa katloan, apan siya wala makakab-ut sa unang totolo: ug gibutang siya ni David sa ibabaw sa iyang mga bantay.

²⁵Of the thirty, lo, he [is] honoured, and unto the [first] three he hath not come, and David setteth him over his guard.

²⁶And the mighty ones of the forces [are] Asahel brother of Joab, Elhanan son of Dodo of Beth-Lehem,

²⁷si Samoth nga Ararnon, si Helles nga Pelonhon.

²⁷Shammoth the Harorite, Helez the Pelonite,

²⁸Si Ira anak nga lalake ni Ikes nga Tekohanon, si Abieser ang Anatotnon,

²⁸Ira son of Ikkesh the Tekoite, Abi-Ezer the Annethothite,
