¹Karon sa nakita ni Athalia ang inahan ni Ochozias nga ang iyang anak nga lalake namatay, siya mibangon ug gilaglag niya ang tanang kaliwatan nga harianon.

¹And Athaliah [is] mother of Ahaziah, and she hath seen that her son [is] dead, and she riseth, and destroyeth all the seed of the kingdom;

²Apan si Josaba, ang anak nga babaye sa hari nga si Joram, igsoon ni Ochozias, mikuha kang Joas, ang anak nga lalake ni Ochozias, ug gikawat siya gikan sa mga anak sa hari nga gipamatay, siya ug ang iyang iwa, ug gibutang sila sa sulod alang sa higdaan, ug gitipigan siya gikan kang Athalia, mao nga wala siya mapatay;

²and Jehosheba daughter of king Joram, sister of Ahaziah, taketh Joash son of Ahaziah, and stealeth him out of the midst of the sons of the king who are put to death, him and his nurse, in the inner part of the bed-chambers, and they hide him from the presence of Athaliah, and he hath not been put to death,

³Ug siya diha uban kaniya nga gitipigan sulod sa balay ni Jehova sa unom ka tuig. Ug si Athalia naghari sa yuta.

³and he is with her, in the house of Jehovah, hiding himself, six years, and Athaliah is reigning over the land.

⁴Ug sa ikapito ka tuig si Joiada nagpaadto ug gidala ang mga capitan sa tinaggatus sa mga magpapatay ug sa magbalantay, ug gidala sila ngadto sa balay ni Jehova: ug sila naghimo ug usa ka pakigsaad uban kanila, ug nanumpa kanila didto sa balay ni Jehova, ug mipakita kanila sa anak nga lalake sa hari;

⁴And in the seventh year hath Jehoiada sent and taketh the heads of the hundreds, of the executioners and of the runners, and bringeth them in unto him, to the house of Jehovah, and maketh with them a covenant, and causeth them to swear in the house of Jehovah, and sheweth them the son of the king,

⁵Ug siya nagsugo kanila, nga nagaingon: Kini ang butang nga buhaton ninyo: usa sa ikatolo ka bahin kaninyo nga mahianhi sa adlaw nga igpapahulay, mahimong mga magbalantay sa balay sa hari;

⁵and commandeth them, saying, `This [is] the thing that ye do; The third of you [are] going in on the sabbath, and keepers of the charge of the house of the king,

⁶Ug ang ikatolo ka bahin adto sa ganghaan sa Sur; ug ang usa ka ikatolo ka bahin sa ganghaan luyo sa magbalantay: busa kamo magtuman sa pagbantay sa balay ug mahimo nga usa ka kaulangan.

⁶and the third [is] at the gate of Sur, and the third at the gate behind the runners, and ye have kept the charge of the house pulled down;

⁷Ug ang duha ka panon kaninyo, bisan ang tanan nga mangadto sa adlaw nga igpapahulay, magabantay sa balay ni Jehova libut sa hari.

⁷and two parts of you, all going out on the sabbath — they have kept the charge of the house of Jehovah about the king,

⁸Ug maglibut kamo sa hari, ang tagsatagsa ka tawo may mga hinagiban sa iyang kamot; ug kadtong mosulod sa mga talay, ipapatay siya: ug mag-uban kamo sa hari sa diha nga siya mogula, ug sa diha nga siya mosulod.

⁸and ye have compassed the king round about, each with his weapons in his hand, and he who is coming unto the ranges is put to death; and be ye with the king in his going out and in his coming in.`

⁹Ug ang mga capitan sa tinaggatus naghimo sumala sa tanan nga gisugo ni Joiada ang sacerdote: ug gidala sa tagsatagsa kanila ang iyang mga tawo, kadtong nanganha sulod sa adlaw nga igpapahulay, uban niadtong manggula sulod sa adlaw nga igpapahulay, ug nanganha kang Joiada ang sacerdote.

⁹And the heads of the hundreds do according to all that Jehoiada the priest commanded, and take each his men going in on the sabbath, with those going out on the sabbath, and come in unto Jehoiada the priest,

¹⁰Ug ang sacerdote naghatag ngadto sa mga capitan sa mga tinaggatus sa mga bangkaw ug sa mga taming nga kang David kanhi, nga didto sa balay ni Jehova.

¹⁰and the priest giveth to the heads of the hundreds the spears and the shields that king David had, that [are] in the house of Jehovah.

¹¹Ug ang mga magbalantay nanagtindog, ang tagsatagsa ka tawo uban ang iyang mga hinagiban sa iyang kamot sukad sa too nga kilid sa balay ngadto sa wala, ubay sa halaran ug sa balay, sa paglibut duol sa hari.

¹¹And the runners stand, each with his weapons in his hand, from the right shoulder of the house unto the left shoulder of the house, by the altar and by the house, by the king round about;

¹²Unya iyang gidala ang anak nga lalake sa hari, ug gibutang sa ibabaw kaniya ang purongpurong, ug gihatagan siya sa pagpamatuod; ug ilang gihimo siya nga hari, ug gidihogan siya; ug gipakpak nila ang ilang mga kamot, ug nanag-ingon: Mabuhi ang hari.

¹²and he bringeth out the son of the king, and putteth on him the crown, and the testimony, and they make him king, and anoint him, and smite the hand, and say, `Let the king live.`

¹³Ug sa pagkadungog ni Athalia sa kasaba sa magbalantay ug sa katawohan, siya miadto ngadto sa katawohan sa balay ni Jehova.

¹³And Athaliah heareth the voice of the runners [and] of the people, and she cometh in unto the people, to the house of Jehovah,

¹⁴Ug siya mitan-aw, ug, ania karon, ang hari nagtindog tupad sa haligi sumala sa nabatasan, ug ang mga capitan ug ang mga trompeta tupad sa hari; ug ang tibook katawohan sa yuta nagkalipay ug nanagpatunog sa mga trompeta. Unya gigisi ni Athalia ang iyang mga saput, ug misinggit: Luib! Luib!

¹⁴and looketh, and lo, the king is standing by the pillar, according to the ordinance, and the heads, and the trumpets, [are] by the king, and all the people of the land are rejoicing, and blowing with trumpets, and Athaliah rendeth her garments, and calleth, `Conspiracy! conspiracy!`

¹⁵Ug gisugo ni Joiada nga sacerdote ang mga capitan sa tinaggatus nga gisaligan sa panon, ug miingon kanila: Ipataliwala siya gikan sa mga talay; ug siya nga magasunod kaniya imong pagatigbason sa pinuti, kay ang sacerdote miingon: Ayaw siya pag-ipapatay sulod sa balay ni Jehova.

¹⁵And Jehoiada the priest commandeth the heads of the hundreds, inspectors of the force, and saith unto them, `Bring her out unto the outside of the ranges, and him who is going after her, put to death by the sword:` for the priest had said, `Let her not be put to death in the house of Jehovah.`

¹⁶Busa ilang giiwayan siya; ug siya miagi duol sa alagian sa mga kabayo ngadto sa balay sa hari: ug didto siya gipatay.

¹⁶And they make for her sides, and she entereth the way of the entering in of the horses to the house of the king, and is put to death there.

¹⁷Ug si Joiada naghimo sa usa ka pakigsaad sa taliwala ni Jehova ug sa hari ug sa katawohan, nga sila mahimong katawohan ni Jehova; sa taliwala usab sa hari ug sa katawohan.

¹⁷And Jehoiada maketh the covenant between Jehovah and the king and the people, to be for a people to Jehovah, and between the king and the people.

¹⁸Ug ang tibook katawohan sa yuta nangadto sa balay ni Baal, ug gigun-ob kini; gipanggun-ob ang iyang mga halaran ug iyang mga larawan nga nangadugmok gayud, ug gipatay si Mathan ang sacerdote ni Baal sa atubangan sa mga halaran. Ug may mga punoan nga gitudlo sa sacerdote sa balay ni Jehova.

¹⁸And all the people of the land go in to the house of Baal, and break it down, its altars and its images they have thoroughly broken, and Mattan priest of Baal they have slain before the altars; and the priest setteth inspectors over the house of Jehovah,

¹⁹Ug iyang gidala ang mga capitan sa mga tinaggatus, ug ang mga magpapatay, ang mga magbalantay ug ang tibook katawohan sa yuta; ug ilang gidala ang hari gikan sa balay ni Jehova, ug didto moagi sa ganghaan sa magbalantay ngadto sa balay sa hari. Ug siya milingkod sa trono sa mga hari.

¹⁹and taketh the heads of the hundreds, and the executioners, and the runners, and all the people of the land, and they bring down the king from the house of Jehovah, and come by the way of the gate of the runners, to the house of the king, and he sitteth on the throne of the kings.

²⁰Busa ang tibook katawohan sa yuta nanagkalipay, ug ang ciudad malinaw. Ug si Athalia ilang gipatay sa pinuti didto sa balay sa hari.

²⁰And all the people of the land rejoice, and the city [is] quiet, and Athaliah they have put to death by the sword in the house of the king;

²¹Si Joas pito ka tuig ang panuigon sa pagsugod niya sa paghari.

²¹a son of seven years is Jehoash in his reigning.
