¹Ug si Jacob miyahat sa iyang mga mata, ug ania karon, nagapadulong kaniya si Esau, ug ang upat ka gatus ka mga tawo uban kaniya. Ug gibahinbahin niya ang mga bata kang Lea ug kang Raquel ug ang duruha ka sulogoon nga babaye.

¹And Jacob lifteth up his eyes, and looketh, and lo, Esau is coming, and with him four hundred men; and he divideth the children unto Leah, and unto Rachel, and unto the two maid-servants;

²Ug gibutang niya ang mga sulogoon nga babaye ug ang ilang mga bata sa unahan; ug gipasunod si Lea ug ang iyang mga bata, ug si Raquel ug si Jose mao ang didto sa ulahi.

²and he setteth the maid-servants and their children first, and Leah and her children behind, and Rachel and Joseph last.

³Ug siya miagi sa atubangan nila, ug miduko siya sa yuta sa nakapito, hangtud nga miabut siya sa iyang igsoon.

³And he himself passed over before them, and boweth himself to the earth seven times, until his drawing nigh unto his brother,

⁴Ug si Esau midalagan sa pagsugat kaniya, ug migakus kaniya ug mipauraray siya sa iyang liog, ug iyang gihalokan siya; ug minghilak sila.

⁴and Esau runneth to meet him, and embraceth him, and falleth on his neck, and kisseth him, and they weep;

⁵Ug giyahat niya ang iyang mga mata, ug nakita niya ang mga babaye ug ang mga bata, ug miingon siya: Kinsa ba kini sila nga kuyog mo? Ug siya mitubag: Ang mga bata nga tungod sa gracia gihatag sa Dios sa imong ulipon.

⁵and he lifteth up his eyes, and seeth the women and the children, and saith, `What [are] these to thee?` And he saith, `The children with whom God hath favoured thy servant.`

⁶Unya, mingduol ang mga sulogoon nga babaye ug ang ilang mga bata, ug mingduko sila.

⁶And the maid-servants draw nigh, they and their children, and bow themselves;

⁷Ug mingduol usab si Lea uban sa iyang mga bata ug mingduko sila; ug sa ulahi mingduol si Jose ug si Raquel, ug ingon usab mingduko sila.

⁷and Leah also draweth nigh, and her children, and they bow themselves; and afterwards Joseph hath drawn nigh with Rachel, and they bow themselves.

⁸Ug siya miingon: Unsa bay ipasabut mo tungod niining tibook nga pundok nga hingsugatan ko? Ug siya mitubag: Aron mahamut-an ako sa mga mata sa akong ginoo.

⁸And he saith, `What to thee [is] all this camp which I have met?` and he saith, `To find grace in the eyes of my lord.`

⁹Ug miingon si Esau: Aduna akoy igo, igsoon ko: Pasagdi lamang nga kining ania kanimo, maimo.

⁹And Esau saith, `I have abundance, my brother, let it be to thyself that which thou hast.`

¹⁰Ug miingon si Jacob: Dili, gipakilooy ko kanimo, kong ako nakakaplag karon ug kahimut-an sa imong mga mata, nan dawata ang akong gasa nga gikan sa akong mga kamot, kay sa nakita ko ang imong nawong, daw nakita ko ang nawong sa Dios, ug ikaw nahimuot kanako.

¹⁰And Jacob saith, `Nay, I pray thee, if, I pray thee, I have found grace in thine eyes, then thou hast received my present from my hand, because that I have seen thy face, as the seeing of the face of God, and thou art pleased with me;

¹¹Dawata, gipakilooy ko kanimo, ang akong gasa nga gidala kanimo, kay ang Dios nalooy kanako, ug kay ako adunay igo. Ug siya gipugos gayud niya, ug gidawat na lamang niya kini.

¹¹receive, I pray thee, my blessing, which is brought to thee, because God hath favoured me, and because I have all [things];` and he presseth on him, and he receiveth,

¹²Ug siya miingon: Manlakaw kita, ug ako magalakaw sa unahan mo.

¹²and saith, `Let us journey and go on, and I go on before thee.`

¹³Ug siya miingon kaniya: Ang akong ginoo nahibalo nga ang mga bata mga linghud, ug nga aduna akoy mga carnero ug mga vaca nga bag-ong nanag-anak; ug kong magpalabi sila pagpanglakaw sa usa ka adlaw, mangamatay ang tanan nga mga panon sa carnero.

¹³And he saith unto him, `My lord knoweth that the children [are] tender, and the suckling flock and the herd [are] with me; when they have beaten them one day, then hath all the flock died.

¹⁴Umuna ka karon, ginoo ko, sa unahan sa imong ulipon, ug ako magalakaw sa hinayhinay, sumala sa paglakaw sa kahayupan nga nagalakaw sa unahan ko, ug sa lakang sa mga bata hangtud nga makadangat ako sa akong ginoo didto sa Seir.

¹⁴Let my lord, I pray thee, pass over before his servant, and I — I lead on gently, according to the foot of the work which [is] before me, and to the foot of the children, until that I come unto my lord, to Seir.`

¹⁵Ug si Esau miingon: Pagabiyaan ko karon ang uban sa akong tawo nga mikuyog kanako. Ug siya miingon: Unsa ba ang kinahanglan niini? Makakaplag unta ug kahimut-an sa mga mata sa akong ginoo.

¹⁵And Esau saith, `Let me, I pray thee, place with thee some of the people who [are] with me;` and he said, `Why [is] this? I find grace in the eyes of my lord.`

¹⁶Mao nga si Esau mipauli niadtong adlawa padulong sa Seir.

¹⁶And turn back on that day doth Esau on his way to Seir;

¹⁷Ug si Jacob migikan padulong sa Succoth, ug nagtukod siya didto sa iyang balay, ug nagbuhat siya ug mga payag alang sa iyang kahayupan. Busa gihinganlan niya ang ngalan niadtong dapita nga Succoth.

¹⁷and Jacob hath journeyed to Succoth, and buildeth to himself a house, and for his cattle hath made booths, therefore hath he called the name of the place Succoth.

¹⁸Ug midangat si Jacob sa kalinaw ngadto sa lungsod sa Sichem, nga nahamutang sa Canaan, sa gikan siya sa yuta sa Padan-aram, ug mipahaluna siya sa atubangan sa lungsod.

¹⁸And Jacob cometh in to Shalem, a city of Shechem, which [is] in the land of Canaan, in his coming from Padan-Aram, and encampeth before the city,

¹⁹Ug mipalit siya ug usa ka bahin sa kapatagan didto diin gibuklad niya ang iyang balongbalong, sa kamot sa mga anak ni Hamor, nga amahan ni Sichem, sa usa ka gatus ka book nga salapi.

¹⁹and he buyeth the portion of the field where he hath stretched out his tent, from the hand of the sons of Hamor, father of Shechem, for a hundred kesitah;

²⁰Ug gipatindog niya didto ang usa ka halaran, ug kini gihinganlan niya: Ang Dios, ang Dios ni Israel.

²⁰and he setteth up there an altar, and proclaimeth at it God — the God of Israel.
