¹Ug sa tapus niining mga butanga, si Jesus milakaw sa Galilea, kay dili siya buot molakaw sa Judea, tungod kay ang mga Judio nanagpaninguha sa pagpatay kaniya.

¹And Jesus was walking after these things in Galilee, for he did not wish to walk in Judea, because the Jews were seeking to kill him,

²Karon, haduol na ang fiesta sa mga Judio, ang fiesta sa mga tabernaculo.

²and the feast of the Jews was nigh — that of tabernacles —

³Busa miingon kaniya ang iyang mga igsoon: Gumikan ka dinhi, ug umadto ka sa Judea, aron ang imong mga tinon-an makakita usab sa mga buhat nga imong mahimo.

³his brethren, therefore, said unto him, `Remove hence, and go away to Judea, that thy disciples also may behold thy works that thou dost;

⁴Kay walay tawo nga magabuhat sa bisan unsang butang sa tago, ug maninguha sa iyang kaugalingon nga hiilhan siya sa dayag. Kong ikaw nagabuhat niining mga butanga, magpahayag ka sa kalibutan.

⁴for no one in secret doth anything, and himself seeketh to be in public; if thou dost these things — manifest thyself to the world;`

⁵Kay bisan ang iyang mga igsoon wala motoo kaniya.

⁵for not even were his brethren believing in him.

⁶Busa miingon kanila si Jesus: Ang akong panahon wala pa moabut, apan ang inyong panahon andam kanunay.

⁶Jesus, therefore, saith to them, `My time is not yet present, but your time is always ready;

⁷Ang kalibutan dili makadumot kaninyo; apan nagadumot kanako, kay nagapamatuod ako mahitungod kaniya nga ang iyang mga buhat dautan.

⁷the world is not able to hate you, but me it doth hate, because I testify concerning it that its works are evil.

⁸Pangadto kamo sa fiesta; dili pa ako moadto niining fiestaha, kay ang akong panahon wala pa matuman.

⁸Ye — go ye up to this feast; I do not yet go up to this feast, because my time hath not yet been fulfilled;`

⁹Ug sa nakapamulong siya niining mga butanga kanila, napabilin siya sa Galilea.

⁹and saying these things to them, he remained in Galilee.

¹⁰Apan sa nakaadto na ang iyang mga igsoon sa fiesta, miadto usab siya, dili sa dayag kondili ingon sa tago.

¹⁰And when his brethren went up, then also he himself went up to the feast, not manifestly, but as in secret;

¹¹Busa ang mga Judio nanagpangita kaniya didto sa fiesta, ug nanag-ingon: Hain ba siya?

¹¹the Jews, therefore, were seeking him, in the feast, and said, `Where is that one?`

¹²Ug may hilabihang hulongihong sa taliwala sa mga panon sa katawohan mahitungod kaniya: may uban miingon: Siya maayong tawo; ang uban miingon: Dili, kondili nagapasalaag siya sa mga tawo.

¹²and there was much murmuring about him among the multitudes, some indeed said — `He is good;` and others said, `No, but he leadeth astray the multitude;`

¹³Bisan pa, walay tawo nga nagasulti sa dayag mahitungod kaniya tungod sa kahadlok nila sa mga Judio.

¹³no one, however, was speaking freely about him, through fear of the Jews.

¹⁴Ug sa diha nga natungatunga na ang fiesta, si Jesus miadto sa templo ug nagtudlo.

¹⁴And it being now the middle of the feast, Jesus went up to the temple, and he was teaching,

¹⁵Busa ang mga Judio nanghibulong nga nanag-ingon: Nganong mahibalo kining tawohana sa mga sulat nga wala man gayud makatoon?

¹⁵and the Jews were wondering, saying, `How hath this one known letters — not having learned?`

¹⁶Busa si Jesus mitubag kanila ug miingon: Ang akong pagtolon-an dili ako, kondili iya sa nagsugo kanako.

¹⁶Jesus answered them and said, `My teaching is not mine, but His who sent me;

¹⁷Kong bisan kinsa nga buot magabuhat sa iyang kabubut-on, mahibalo siya sa pagtolon-an, kong kini gikan ba sa Dios, o kong ako nagasulti ba gikan sa akong kaugalingon.

¹⁷if any one may will to do His will, he shall know concerning the teaching, whether it is of God, or — I do speak from myself.

¹⁸Ang nagasulti gikan sa iyang kaugalingon nagapangita sa iyang kaugalingon nga himaya; apan ang nagapangita sa himaya niadtong nagsugo kaniya, kana matuod, ug walay dili pagkamatarung diha kaniya.

¹⁸`He who is speaking from himself his own glory doth seek, but he who is seeking the glory of him who sent him, this one is true, and unrighteousness is not in him;

¹⁹Wala ba si Moises maghatag kaninyo sa Kasugoan, ug walay bisan kinsa kaninyo nga nagatuman sa Kasugoan? Nganong naninguha kamo sa pagpatay kanako?

¹⁹hath not Moses given you the law? and none of you doth the law; why me do ye seek to kill?`

²⁰Ang panon sa katawohan mitubag: Aduna kay usa ka yawa; kinsay naninguha sa pagpatay kanimo?

²⁰The multitude answered and said, `Thou hast a demon, who doth seek to kill thee?`

²¹Si Jesus mitubag ug miingon kanila: Ako nagbuhat ug usa ka buhat, ug kamong tanan nanghitingala tungod niini.

²¹Jesus answered and said to them, `One work I did, and ye all wonder,

²²Si Moises naghatag kaninyo sa circuncicion (dili tungod kay nagagikan kini kang Moises, kondili sa mga ginikanan); ug sa adlaw nga igpapahulay nagacircuncidar kamo ug tawo.

²²because of this, Moses hath given you the circumcision — not that it is of Moses, but of the fathers — and on a sabbath ye circumcise a man;

²³Kong ang tawo modawat ug circuncicion sa adlaw nga igpapahulay aron ang Kasugoan ni Moises dili malapas, mangasuko ba kamo tungod kay giayo ko sa hingpit gayud ang usa ka tawo sa adlaw nga igpapahulay?

²³if a man doth receive circumcision on a sabbath that the law of Moses may not be broken, are ye wroth with me that I made a man all whole on a sabbath?

²⁴Dili kamo maghukom pinaagi sa dagway, kondili maghukom kamo sa matarung nga paghukom.

²⁴judge not according to appearance, but the righteous judgment judge.`

²⁵May uban kanila nga taga-Jerusalem miingon: Dili ba kini siya mao ang ilang ginapangita aron patyon?

²⁵Certain, therefore, of the Jerusalemites said, `Is not this he whom they are seeking to kill?

²⁶Ug ania karon, nagasulti siya sa dayag, ug wala silay gisulti kaniya bisan unsa. Mahimo ba kaha nga ang mga punoan nasayud gayud nga kini mao si Cristo?

²⁶and, lo, he doth speak freely, and they say nothing to him; did the rulers at all know truly that this is truly the Christ?

²⁷Apan nanghibalo kita niining tawohana kong taga-diin siya; apan kong moabu si Cristo walay usa nga mahibalo kong diin siya gikan.

²⁷but this one — we have known whence he is; and the Christ, when he doth come, no one doth know whence he is.`

²⁸Busa si Jesus misinggit sa sulod sa templo, nga nagapanudlo ug miingon: Kamo nakaila kanako ug nahibalo kong diin ako gikan; ug wala ako moanhi sa akong kaugalingon, apan ang nagsugo kanako matuod, nga siya wala ninyo hiilhi.

²⁸Jesus cried, therefore, in the temple, teaching and saying, `Ye have both known me, and ye have known whence I am; and I have not come of myself, but He who sent me is true, whom ye have not known;

²⁹Ako nakaila kaniya, tungod kay ako nagagikan kaniya, ug siya nagasugo kanako.

²⁹and I have known Him, because I am from Him, and He did send me.`

³⁰Busa naninguha sila sa pagdakup kaniya, ug walay tawo nga midakup kaniya, kay wala pa moabut ang iyang panahon.

³⁰They were seeking, therefore, to seize him, and no one laid the hand on him, because his hour had not yet come,

³¹Apan sa panon sa katawohan, daghan ang nanagtoo kaniya; ug sila nanag-ingon: Kong moanhi ang Cristo, magahimo ba kaha siya ug labi pang daghan nga mga katingalahan kay sa ginahimo niining tawohana?

³¹and many out of the multitude did believe in him, and said — `The Christ — when he may come — will he do more signs than these that this one did?`

³²Ang mga Fariseo nakadungog sa panon sa katawohan nga nanagbagulbol niining mga butanga mahitungod kaniya, ug ang mga pangulong sacerdote ug ang mga Fariseo nanagsugo ug mga sulogoon sa pagdakup kaniya.

³²The Pharisees heard the multitude murmuring these things concerning him, and the Pharisees and the chief priests sent officers that they may take him;

³³Busa si Jesus miingon: Sa diyutay pa nga panahon kauban ako ninyo, ug ako moadto kaniya nga nagsugo kanako.

³³Jesus, therefore, said to them, `Yet a little time I am with you, and I go away unto Him who sent me;

³⁴Kamo mangita kanako, apan dili kamo makakaplag kanako, ug asa ako dili kamo makaadto.

³⁴ye will seek me, and ye shall not find; and where I am, ye are not able to come.`

³⁵Busa ang mga Judio nasig-ingon sa ilang kaugalingon: Asa man kining tawohana moadto nga dili ta siya hikit-an? Moadto ba siya sa mga gipatlaag sa taliwala sa mga Greciahanon, ug manudlo sa mga Greciahanon?

³⁵The Jews, therefore, said among themselves, `Whither is this one about to go that we shall not find him? — to the dispersion of the Greeks is he about to go? and to teach the Greeks;

³⁶Unsa kining pulonga nga iyang giingon: Kamo mangita kanako, apan dili kamo makakaplag kanako, ug asa ako dili kamo makaadto?

³⁶what is this word that he said, Ye will seek me, and ye shall not find? and, Where I am, ye are not able to come?`

³⁷Karon, sa katapusang adlaw, ang labing dakung adlaw sa fiesta, mitindog si Jesus ug misinggit nga nagaingon: Kong adunay tawo nga giuhaw, umari kanako ug uminum.

³⁷And in the last, the great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried, saying, `If any one doth thirst, let him come unto me and drink;

³⁸Ang motoo kanako, sumala sa giingon sa Kasulatan, gikan sasulod niya moagay ang mga sapa sa tubig nga buhi.

³⁸he who is believing in me, according as the Writing said, Rivers out of his belly shall flow of living water;`

³⁹Apan niini nagsuiti siya mahitungod sa Espiritu, nga pagadawaton niadtong mga mitoo kaniya; kay ang Espiritu wala pa ihatag, tungod kay si Jesus wala pa himayaa.

³⁹and this he said of the Spirit, which those believing in him were about to receive; for not yet was the Holy Spirit, because Jesus was not yet glorified.

⁴⁰Busa may uban sa panon sa katawohan, sa pagkabati nila niining mga pulonga, miingon: Kini sa pagkamatuod mao ang Manalagna.

⁴⁰Many, therefore out of the multitude, having heard the word, said, `This is truly the Prophet;`

⁴¹Ang uban miingon: Kini mao ang Cristo. Apan may uban nga miingon: Unsa, magagikan ba ang Cristo sa Galilea?

⁴¹others said, `This is the Christ;` and others said, `Why, out of Galilee doth the Christ come?

⁴²Wala ba mag-ingon ang Kasulatan nga ang Cristo magagikan sa kaliwatan ni David, ug gikan sa Betlehem, ang diyutay nga lungsod diin didto si David?

⁴²Did not the Writing say, that out of the seed of David, and from Bethlehem — the village where David was — the Christ doth come?`

⁴³Busa miabut ang pagkabahin sa panon sa katawohan tungod kaniya.

⁴³A division, therefore, arose among the multitude because of him.

⁴⁴Ug ang uban kanila buot unta modakup kaniya, apan walay tawo nga midakup kaniya.

⁴⁴And certain of them were willing to seize him, but no one laid hands on him;

⁴⁵Busa ang mga sulogoon miadto sa mga pangulong sacerdote ug sa mga Fariseo, ug sila miingon kanila: Nganong wala ninyo dad-a siya?

⁴⁵the officers came, therefore, unto the chief priests and Pharisees, and they said to them, `Wherefore did ye not bring him?`

⁴⁶Ang mga sulogoon nanagpanubag: Wala pa gayud ing tawo nga nagsuiti sa ingon.

⁴⁶The officers answered, `Never so spake man — as this man.`

⁴⁷Busa ang mga Fariseo mitubag kanila: Mga gipasalaag ba usab kamo?

⁴⁷The Pharisees, therefore, answered them, `Have ye also been led astray?

⁴⁸May bisan kinsa ba sa mga punoan, kun sa mga Fariseo nga nanagpanoo kaniya?

⁴⁸did any one out of the rulers believe in him? or out of the Pharisees?

⁴⁹Apan kining panon sa katawohan nga dili mahibalo sa Kasugoan mga tinunglo.

⁴⁹but this multitude, that is not knowing the law, is accursed.`

⁵⁰Si Nicodemo (ang kaniadto miadto kaniya, sanglit usa kanila) miingon kanila:

⁵⁰Nicodemus saith unto them — he who came by night unto him — being one of them,

⁵¹Ang atong Kasugoan nagahukom ba sa tawo, gawas kong kini nagapatalinghug usa kaniya ug nasayud kong unsa ang iyang gibuhat?

⁵¹`Doth our law judge the man, if it may not hear from him first, and know what he doth?`

⁵²Sila nanagpanubag ug miingon kaniya: Ikaw taga-Galilea ba usab? susiha, ug makita mo nga sa Galilea walay mibarug nga manalagna.

⁵²They answered and said to him, `Art thou also out of Galilee? search and see, that a prophet out of Galilee hath not risen;`

⁵³Ug ang tagsatagsa ka tawo mipauli sa iyang balay.

⁵³and each one went on to his house, but Jesus went on to the mount of the Olives.
