1Unya ang tanang mga anak sa Israel minggula, ug ang kapunongan gitapok ingon sa usa ka tawo, sukad sa Dan bisan hangtud Beer-sheba, lakip ang yuta sa Galaad, ngadto kang Jehova sa Mizpa.
1And all the sons of Israel go out, and the company is assembled as one man, from Dan even unto Beer-Sheba, and the land of Gilead, unto Jehovah, at Mizpeh.
2Ug ang mga pangulo sa tibook nga katawohan, sa tanang mga kabanayan sa Israel, nanagpakita sa ilang mga kaugalingon sa katiguman sa katawohan sa Dios, upat ka gatus ka libo ka tawo nga nagtiniil nga nanag-ibut sa pinuti.
2And the chiefs of all the people, of all the tribes of Israel, station themselves in the assembly of the people of God, four hundred thousand footmen drawing sword.
3(Karon ang mga anak ni Benjamin nakadungog nga ang mga anak sa Israel nanagpangadto sa Mizpa.) Ug ang mga anak sa Israel ming-ingon: Suginli kami, sa unsang paagiha nga kining kadautan nahitabo?
3And the sons of Benjamin hear that the sons of Israel have gone up to Mizpeh. And the sons of Israel say, `Speak ye, how hath this evil been?`
4Ug ang Levihanon, ang bana sa babaye nga gipatay, mitubag ug miingon: Ako nahiadto sa Gabaa nga sakup ni Benjamin, ako ug ang akong puyopuyo, sa paghigda.
4And the man, the Levite, husband of the woman who hath been murdered, answereth and saith, `Into Gibeah (which [is] to Benjamin) I have come, I and my concubine, to lodge;
5Ug ang mga tawo sa Gabaa mingtindog batok kanako, ug mingsulong kanako, libut sa balay niadtong gabii; sila naghunahuna sa pagpatay kanako, ug ang akong puyopuyo ilang gilugos, ug siya namatay.
5and rise against me do the masters of Gibeah — and they go round the house against me by night — me they thought to slay, and my concubine they have humbled, and she dieth;
6Ug akong gikuha ang akong puyopuyo ug gihiwa-hiwa, ug gipadala kini sa tibook nga yuta nga panulondon sa Israel; kay gibuhat nila ang kaulag ug binuang dinhi sa Israel.
6and I lay hold on my concubine, and cut her in pieces, and send her into all the country of the inheritance of Israel; for they have done wickedness and folly in Israel;
7Tan-awa, kamong mga anak sa Israel, kamong tanan, ihatag dinhi ang inyong tambag ug hunahuna.
7lo, ye [are] all sons of Israel; give for you a word and counsel here.`
8Ug ang tibook nga katawohan nanindog sama sa usa ka tawo nga nanag-ingon: Walay bisan kinsa kanato nga moadto sa iyang balong-balong, ni may kinsa kanato nga moadto sa iyang balay.
8And all the people rise as one man, saying, `None of us doth go to his tent, and none of us doth turn aside to his house;
9Apan karon kini mao ang butang nga atong pagabuhaton sa Gabaa: moadto kita batok niini pinaagi sa rifa.
9and now, this [is] the thing which we do to Gibeah — against it by lot!
10Ug mokuha kita ug napulo ka tawo gikan sa tagsa ka gatus sa tanang mga banay sa Israel, ug usa ka gatus sa usa ka libo, ug usa ka libo gikan sa napulo ka libo, aron sa pagdala sa mga balon alang sa katawohan, kana magbuhat sila sa diha nga moadto sila sa Gabaa sa Benjamin, sumala sa tanang binuang nga ilang gibuhat dinhi sa Israel.
10and we have taken ten men of a hundred, of all the tribes of Israel, and a hundred of a thousand, and a thousand of a myriad, to receive provision for the people, to do, at their coming to Gibeah of Benjamin, according to all the folly which it hath done in Israel.`
11Busa ang tanang mga tawo sa Israel nanagtigum batok sa ciudad nga nahugpong ingon sa usa ka tawo.
11And every man of Israel is gathered unto the city, as one man — companions.
12Ug ang mga banay sa Israel nagsugo ug mga tawo ngadto sa tibook banay ni Benjamin, nga nagaingon: Unsa kining kadautan nga nahitabo diha kaninyo?
12And the tribes of Israel send men among all the tribes of Benjamin, saying, `What [is] this evil which hath been among you?
13Busa karon, itugyan ang mga tawo, ang mga dautang tawo, nga anaa sa Gabaa, aron sila pagapatyon namo, ug ikapahalayo ang dautan sa Israel. Apan ang Benjamin wala mamati sa tingog sa ilang mga igsoon, ang mga anak sa Israel.
13And now, give up the men — sons of worthlessness — which [are] in Gibeah, and we put them to death, and we put away evil from Israel.` And [the sons of] Benjamin have not been willing to hearken to the voice of their brethren, the sons of Israel;
14Ug ang mga anak ni Benjamin nanagtigum gikan sa mga ciudad ngadto sa Gabaa, sa paggula sa pagpakig-away batok sa mga anak sa Israel.
14and the sons of Benjamin are gathered out of the cities to Gibeah, to go out to battle with the sons of Israel.
15Ug ang mga anak ni Benjamin giihap niadtong adlawa gikan sa mga ciudad kaluhaan ug unom ka libo ka tawo nga nanag-ibut sa pinuti, labut pa sa mga molupyo sa Gabaa, nga naisip nga pito ka gatus ka tawo nga pinili.
15And the sons of Benjamin number themselves on that day; out of the cities [are] twenty and six thousand men drawing sword, apart from the inhabitants of Gibeah, [who] numbered themselves, seven hundred chosen men;
16Sa taliwala niining tibook nga katawohan may pito ka gatus nga piniling mga tawo nga pulos walhon; ang tagsatagsa makalambuyog sa bato sa kalapdon sa usa ka lugas nga buhok, ug dili masayup.
16among all this people [are] seven hundred chosen men, bound of their right hand, each of these slinging with a stone at the hair, and he doth not err.
17Ug ang mga tawo sa Israel, labut pa sa Benjamin, giihap nga upat ka gatus ka libo ka tawo nga nanag-ibut sa pinuti; kining tanan mga tawo sa gubat.
17And the men of Israel numbered themselves, apart from Benjamin, four hundred thousand men, drawing sword, each of these a man of war.
18Ug ang mga anak sa Israel nanindog, ug nangadto sa Beth-el, ug nangayo sa pakitambag sa Dios; ug sila ming-ingon: Kinsa ang moadto alang kanamo pag-una sa pagpakig-away batok sa mga anak ni Benjamin? Ug si Jehova miingon: ang Juda ang moadto pag-una.
18And they rise and go up to Beth-El, and ask of God, and the sons of Israel say, `Who doth go up for us at the commencement to battle with the sons of Benjamin?` and Jehovah saith, `Judah — at the commencement.`
19Ug ang mga anak sa Israel mingbangon sa pagkabuntag ug nagpahaluna batok sa Gabaa.
19And the sons of Israel rise in the morning, and encamp against Gibeah,
20Ug ang mga tawo sa Israel nangadto sa pagpakig-away batok kang Benjamin; ug ang mga tawo sa Israel nagpahaluna sa pag-away nga nagtalay batok kanila didto sa Gabaa.
20and the men of Israel go out to battle with Benjamin, and the men of Israel set themselves in array with them, [for] battle against Gibeah,
21Ug ang mga anak ni Benjamin nanggula gikan sa Gabaa; ug gilaglag ngadto sa yuta ang mga taga-Israel niadtong adlawa kaluhaan ug duha ka libo ka tawo.
21and the sons of Benjamin come out from Gibeah, and destroy in Israel on that day two and twenty thousand men — to the earth.
22Ug ang katawohan, ang mga tawo sa Israel, nanagpadasig sa ilang kaugalingon, ug gihimo ang pag-away sa pag-usab nga nagtalay sa dapit diin sila magtalay sa nahauna nga adlaw.
22And the people, the men of Israel, strengthen themselves, and add to set the battle in array in the place where they arranged themselves on the first day.
23Ug ang mga anak sa Israel ming-adto ug nanghilak sa atubangan ni Jehova hangtud sa kagabhion; ug sila nangutana kang Jehova, nga nagaingon: Makig-away ba ako pag-usab batok sa mga anak ni Benjamin ang akong igsoon nga lalake? Ug si Jehova miingon: Tumungas ka batok kaniya.
23And the sons of Israel go up and weep before Jehovah till the evening, and ask of Jehovah, saying, `Do I add to draw nigh to battle with the sons of Benjamin, my brother?` And Jehovah saith, `Go up against him.`
24Ug ang mga anak sa Israel mingduol batok sa mga anak ni Benjamin sa ikaduhang adlaw.
24And the sons of Israel draw near unto the sons of Benjamin on the second day,
25Ug ang Benjamin minggula batok kanila sa gawas sa Gabaa sa ikaduhang adlaw, ug gipamukan pag-usab ngadto sa yuta gikan sa mga anak sa Israel ang napulo ug walo ka libo ka tawo; kining tanan nanag-ibut sa pinuti.
25and Benjamin cometh out to meet them from Gibeah on the second day, and destroy among the sons of Israel again eighteen thousand men — to the earth; all these are drawing sword.
26Unya ang tanang mga anak sa Israel, ug ang tibook nga katawohan, nanungas, ug nanghiabut sa Beth-el, ug nanghilak, ug nanlingkod didto sa atubangan ni Jehova, ug nanagpuasa niadtong adlawa hangtud sa pagkagabii; ug sila nanaghalad sa mga halad-nga-sinunog ug mga halad-sa-pakigdait sa atubangan ni Jehova.
26And all the sons of Israel go up, even all the people, and come in to Beth-El, and weep, and sit there before Jehovah, and fast on that day till the evening, and cause to ascend burnt-offerings and peace-offerings before Jehovah.
27Ug ang mga anak sa Israel nangutana kang Jehova (kay ang arca sa tugon sa Dios didto niadtong mga adlawa,
27And the sons of Israel ask of Jehovah, — and there [is] the ark of the covenant of God in those days,
28Ug si Pineas, ang anak nga lalake ni Eleazar, ang anak nga lalake ni Aaron, nagtindog niadtong mga adlawa sa atubangan niana), nga nagaingon: Moadto pa ba ako sa pagpakig-away batok sa mga anak ni Benjamin nga akong igsoon nga lalake kun mohunong ba ako? Ug si Jehova miingon: Tumungas ka; kay ugma itugyan ko siya nganha sa imong kamot.
28and Phinehas son of Eleazar, son of Aaron, is standing before it in those days — saying, `Do I add again to go out to battle with the sons of Benjamin, my brother, or do I cease?` And Jehovah saith, `Go up, for to-morrow I give him into thy hand.`
29Ug si Israel nagbutang ug mga magbabanhig nga nagalibut batok sa Gabaa.
29And Israel setteth liers in wait against Gibeah, round about,
30Ug ang mga anak sa Israel nangadto batok sa mga anak ni Benjamin niadtong ikatolo ka adlaw, ug nagpahaluna sa ilang kaugalingon nga nagtalay batok sa Gabaa, ingon sa laing panahon.
30and the sons of Israel go up against the sons of Benjamin, on the third day, and arrange themselves against Gibeah, as time by time.
31Ug ang mga anak ni Benjamin minggula batok sa katawohan, ug nataral sa halayo gikan sa ciudad; ug nagsugod sila sa pagtigbas ug sa pagpatay sa mga katawohan, ingon sa laing panahon, didto sa mga dalan, nga usa niini nagatungas ngadto sa Beth-el, ug ang uban ngadto sa Gabaa, sa kapatagan, duolan sa katloan ka tawo sa Israel.
31And the sons of Benjamin come out to meet the people; they have been drawn away out of the city, and begin to smite [some] of the people — wounded as time by time, in the highways (of which one is going up to Beth-El, and the other to Gibeah in the field), [are] about thirty men of Israel.
32Ug ang mga anak ni Benjamin nanag-ingon: Sila nangapukan sa atong atubangan, ingon sa una. Apan ang mga anak sa Israel ming-ingon: Mangalagiw kita, ug taralon ta sila sa halayo sa ciudad ngadto sa mga dalan.
32And the sons of Benjamin say, `They are smitten before us as at the beginning;` but the sons of Israel said, `Let us flee, and draw them away out of the city, unto the highways.`
33Ug ang tanang mga tawo sa Israel mingtindog sa gawas sa ilang dapit, ug nagpahaluna sa ilang kaugalingon nga nagtalay didto sa Baal-taman: ug mga magbabanhig sa Israel minggula gikan sa ilang dapit, gikan sa kabunglayonan sa Gabaa.
33And all the men of Israel have risen from their place, and arrange themselves at Baal-Tamar, and the ambush of Israel is coming forth out of its place, out of the meadow of Gibeah.
34Ug may ming-adto batok sa Gabaa napulo ka libo nga piniling mga tawo gikan sa tibook Israel, ug ang gubat mabangis. Apan sila wala mahibalo nga ang dautan diha duol kanila.
34And they come in over against Gibeah — ten thousand chosen men out of all Israel — and the battle [is] grievous, and they have not known that the evil is striking against them.
35Ug si Jehova naghampak kang Benjamin sa atubangan sa Israel; ug ang mga anak sa Israel naglaglag gikan sa Benjamin niadtong adlawa kaluhaan ug lima ka libo ug usa ka gatus ka tawo: kining tanan nanag-ibut sa pinuti.
35And Jehovah smiteth Benjamin before Israel, and the sons of Israel destroy in Benjamin, on that day, twenty and five thousand, and a hundred men; all these [are] drawing sword.
36Busa ang mga anak ni Benjamin nakakita nga sila gidaug; kay ang mga tawo sa Israel minghatag ug dapit sa Benjamin, tungod kay sila mingsalig sa ilang mga magbabanhig nga ilang gipahaluna batok sa Gabaa.
36And the sons of Benjamin see that they have been smitten — and the men of Israel give place to Benjamin, for they have trusted unto the ambush which they had set against Gibeah,
37Ug ang mga magbabanhig nanagdali ug mingdasdas sa Gabaa; ug ang mga magbabanhig mingduol sa ilang kaugalingon, ug gitigbas ang tibook ciudad sa sulab sa pinuti.
37and the ambush have hasted, and push against Gibeah, and the ambush draweth itself out, and smiteth the whole of the city by the mouth of the sword.
38Karon ang gikasabutan nga ilhanan sa mga tawo sa Israel, ug sa mga magbabanhig mao nga magahimo sila ug usa ka dakung panganod sa aso nga magaulbo gikan sa ciudad.
38And there was the appointed sign to the men of Israel with the ambush — their causing to go up a great volume of smoke from the city.
39Ug ang mga tawo sa Israel mingtalikod sa gubat, ug ang Benjamin misugod sa pagtigbas ug sa pagpatay sa mga tawo sa Israel nga duolan sa katloan ka tawo; kay sila ming-ingon: Sa walay duhaduha mangapukan sila sa atong atubangan ingon sa unang gubat.
39And the men of Israel turn in battle, and Benjamin hath begun to smite the wounded among the men of Israel, about thirty men, for they said, `Surely they are utterly smitten before us, as [at] the first battle;
40Apan sa diha nga ang panganod nagsugod na sa pag-ulbo sa itaas gikan sa ciudad sa usa ka haligi sa aso, ang mga taga-Benjamin nanglingi sa ilang luyo; ug, ania karon, ang tibook nga ciudad miulbo diha sa aso ngadto sa langit.
40and the volume hath begun to go up from the city — a pillar of smoke — and Benjamin turneth behind, and lo, gone up hath the perfection of the city toward the heavens.
41Ug ang mga tawo sa Israel namalik ug ang mga tawo sa Benjamin nangaluya; kay ilang natan-aw nga ang kadautan midangat na kanila.
41And the men of Israel have turned, and the men of Benjamin are troubled, for they have seen that the evil hath stricken against them —
42Busa mingtalikod sila sa atubangan sa mga tawo sa Israel ngadto sa alagianan sa kamingawan; apan giapiki sila sa gubat sa hilabihan; ug sila nga nanggula gikan sa mga ciudad nagpatay kanila sa kinataliwad-an niana.
42and they turn before the men of Israel unto the way of the wilderness, and the battle hath followed them; and those who [are] from the city are destroying them in their midst;
43Ilang gilibutan ang mga Benjaminhon, ug gipanaglutos sila, ug gipanagyatakan sila sa ilang dapit nga pahulayanan, hangtud sa gilay-on sa atbang sa Gabaa padulong sa silangan sa adlaw.
43they have compassed the Benjamites — they have pursued them — with ease they have trodden them down till over-against Gibeah, at the sun-rising.
44Ug may nangapukan sa Benjamin nga napulo ug walo ka libo ka tawo; kining tanan mga tawo sa kaisug.
44And there fall of Benjamin eighteen thousand men — the whole of these [are] men of valour;
45Ug mingtalikod sila ug nangalagiw padulong sa kamingawan ngadto sa bato sa Rimmon ug nakahipus sila gikan kanila diha sa mga kadalanan lima ka libo ka tawo, ug sa kabaskug nanagnunot kanila ngadto sa Gidom, ug ang gipamatay gikan kanila duha ka libo ka tawo.
45and they turn and flee toward the wilderness, unto the rock of Rimmon; and they glean of them in the highways five thousand men, and follow after them unto Gidom, and smite of them two thousand men.
46Busa ang tanan nga nangapukan nianang adlawa sa Benjamin may kaluhaan ug lima ka libo ka tawo nga nag-ibut sa pinuti: kining tanan mga tawo sa kaisug.
46And all those falling of Benjamin are twenty and five thousand men drawing sword, on that day — the whole of these [are] men of valour;
47Apan unom ka gatus ka tawo mingtalikod ug nangalagiw padulong sa kamingawan ngadto sa bato sa Rimmon, ug nagpuyo didto sa bato sa Rimmon sulod sa upat ka bulan.
47and there turn and flee into the wilderness, unto the rock of Rimmon six hundred men, and they dwell in the rock Rimmon four months.
48Ug ang mga tawo sa Israel mingsumbalik usab sa mga anak sa Benjamin, ug gitigbas sila sa sulab sa pinuti, lakip ang tibook nga ciudad ug ang mga panon nga vaca ug ang tanan nga ilang nakita: labut pa ang tanan nga mga ciudad nga ilang nakita ilang gidauban.
48And the men of Israel have turned back unto the sons of Benjamin, and smite them by the mouth of the sword out of the city, — men unto cattle, unto all that is found; also all the cities which are found they have sent into fire.
