¹A beginning of the good news of Jesus Christ, Son of God.

²Ingon sa gisulat ni Isaias nga manalagna: Ania karon akong ginasugo ang akong sinugo sa atubangan sa imong nawong, nga magaandam sa imong dalan.

²As it hath been written in the prophets, `Lo, I send My messenger before thy face, who shall prepare thy way before thee,` —

³Ang tingog sa usa nga nagasinggit sa kamingawan: Andama ninyo ang dalan sa Ginoo; tul-ira ninyo ang iyang mga agianan.

³`A voice of one calling in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the Lord, straight make ye his paths,` —

⁴Mianhi si Juan, nga nagabautismo sa kamingawan, ug nagawali sa bautismo sa paghinulsol alang sa pagpasaylo sa mga sala.

⁴John came baptizing in the wilderness, and proclaiming a baptism of reformation — to remission of sins,

⁵Ug nangadto kaniya ang tanan nga taga-Judea, ug ang mga taga-Jerusalem, ug iyang gibautismohan silang tanan sa suba sa Jordan, sa nagsugid sa ilang mga sala.

⁵and there were going forth to him all the region of Judea, and they of Jerusalem, and they were all baptized by him in the river Jordan, confessing their sins.

⁶Ug si Juan nagasul-ob sa mga balhibo sa camello, ug may usa ka bakus nga panit sa iyang hawak; ug nagakaon sa mga dulon ug dugos nga ihalas.

⁶And John was clothed with camel`s hair, and a girdle of skin around his loins, and eating locusts and honey of the field,

⁷Ug siya nagwali sa pag-ingon: Sa ulahi nako moanhi ang labi pang gamhanan kay kanako, nga bisan sa pagduko ug pagbadbad sa higut sa iyang sapin dili ako takus.

⁷and he proclaimed, saying, `He doth come — who is mightier than I — after me, of whom I am not worthy — having stooped down — to loose the latchet of his sandals;

⁸Ako nagabautismo kaninyo sa tubig, apan siya magabautismo kaninyo sa Espiritu Santo.

⁸I indeed did baptize you with water, but he shall baptize you with the Holy Spirit.`

⁹Ug nahatabo niadtong mga adlawa, nga si Jesus miabut gikan sa Nazaret sa Galilea, ug gibautismohan siya ni Juan sa Jordan.

⁹And it came to pass in those days, Jesus came from Nazareth of Galilee, and was baptized by John at the Jordan;

¹⁰Ug gilayon sa paghaw-as niya sa tubig, hingkit-an niya nga nagisi ang mga langit, ug ang Espiritu nga ingon sa salampati mikunsad sa ibabaw niya.

¹⁰and immediately coming up from the water, he saw the heavens dividing, and the Spirit as a dove coming down upon him;

¹¹Ug miabut ang usa katingog gikan sa mga langit: Ikaw mao ang akong Anak nga hinigugma, kanimo nalipay gayud ako.

¹¹and a voice came out of the heavens, `Thou art My Son — the Beloved, in whom I did delight.`

¹²Ug gilayon gipagula siya sa Espiritu ngadto sa kamingawan,

¹²And immediately doth the Spirit put him forth to the wilderness,

¹³Ug didto siya sa kamingawan kap-atan ka adlaw nga gitintal ni satanas; ug siya uban sa mga mapintas nga mananap, ug ang mga manolonda nagaalagad kaniya.

¹³and he was there in the wilderness forty days, being tempted by the Adversary, and he was with the beasts, and the messengers were ministering to him.

¹⁴Ug sa nabilanggo na si Juan, miabut si Jesus sa Galilea nga nagawali sa Maayong Balita sa gingharian sa Dios.

¹⁴And after the delivering up of John, Jesus came to Galilee, proclaiming the good news of the reign of God,

¹⁵Ug nagaingon: Ang panahon natuman na, ug ang gingharian sa Dios haduol na. Maghinulsol kamo ug tomoo kamo sa Maayong Balita.

¹⁵and saying — `Fulfilled hath been the time, and the reign of God hath come nigh, reform ye, and believe in the good news.`

¹⁶Ug sa nagalakaw siya sa ubay sa dagat sa Galilea, hingkit-an niya si Simon ug si Andres, igsoon ni Simon, nga nagataktak sa usa ka pukot sa dagat, kay mga mananagat man sila.

¹⁶And, walking by the sea of Galilee, he saw Simon, and Andrew his brother, casting a drag into the sea, for they were fishers,

¹⁷Ug miingon si Jesus kanila: Numunot kamo kanako, ug pagabuhaton ko kamo nga mananagat sa mga tawo.

¹⁷and Jesus said to them, `Come ye after me, and I shall make you to become fishers of men;`

¹⁸Ug gilayon gibiyaan nila ang ilang mga pukot ug mingnunot kaniya.

¹⁸and immediately, having left their nets, they followed him.

¹⁹Ug sa nakalakat siya ug diyutay ngadto sa unahan, hingkit-an niya si Jacobo nga anak ni Zebedeo, ug si Juan nga iyang igsoon nga didto usab sa sakayan nagapuna sa mga pukot.

¹⁹And having gone on thence a little, he saw James of Zebedee, and John his brother, and they were in the boat refitting the nets,

²⁰Ug gilayon iyang gitawag sila; ug gibiyaan nila sa sakayan ang ilang amahan nga si Zebedeo, kauban sa mga sinuholan, ug mingsunod sila kaniya.

²⁰and immediately he called them, and, having left their father Zebedee in the boat with the hired servants, they went away after him.

²¹Ug misulod sila sa Capernaum; ug gilayon sa adlaw nga igpapahulay misulod siya sa sinagoga ug nagtudlo.

²¹And they go on to Capernaum, and immediately, on the sabbaths, having gone into the synagogue, he was teaching,

²²Ug nanghibulong sila sa iyang pagtolon-an, kay siya nagatudlo kanila ingon nga adunay pagbulot-an, ug dili ingon sa mga escriba.

²²and they were astonished at his teaching, for he was teaching them as having authority, and not as the scribes.

²³Ug gilayon sa ilang sinagoga may usa ka tawo nga nagabaton ug espiritu nga mahugaw, ug kini misinggit,

²³And there was in their synagogue a man with an unclean spirit, and he cried out,

²⁴Nga nagaingon: Unsay labut namo kanimo, Jesus nga Nazaretnon? Mianhi ka ba sa paglaglag kanamo? Nahibalo ako kong kinsa ikaw, ang Balaan sa Dios.

²⁴saying, `Away! what — to us and to thee, Jesus the Nazarene? thou didst come to destroy us; I have known thee who thou art — the Holy One of God.`

²⁵Ug gibadlong siya ni Jesus, nga nagaingon: Humilum ka ug pumahawa kaniya.

²⁵And Jesus rebuked him, saying, `Be silenced, and come forth out of him,`

²⁶Ug ang espiritu nga mahugaw, sa nagalubag kaniya, ug sa nakatuaw sa makusog nga tingog, mipahawa kaniya.

²⁶and the unclean spirit having torn him, and having cried with a great voice, came forth out of him,

²⁷Ug ang tanan nanghibulong, sa pagkaagi nga nagpinangutan-anay sila sa pag-ingon: Unsa ba kini? Unsa ba nga bag-ong pagtolon-an kini? Kay sa may pagbulot-an nagasugo siya bisan sa mga espiritu nga mahugaw, ug sila nagasugot kaniya?

²⁷and they were all amazed, so as to reason among themselves, saying, `What is this? what new teaching [is] this? that with authority also the unclean spirits he commandeth, and they obey him!`

²⁸Ug gilayon nasangyaw ang iyang kabantug sa tibook nga kayutaan libut sa Galilea.

²⁸And the fame of him went forth immediately to all the region, round about, of Galilee.

²⁹Ug gilayon sa paggula nila sa sinagoga, misulod sila sa balay ni Simon ug ni Andres, kauban ni Jacobo ug ni Juan.

²⁹And immediately, having come forth out of the synagogue, they went to the house of Simon and Andrew, with James and John,

³⁰Ug ang inahan sa asawa ni Simon nagahigda nga may hilanat, ug gilayon siya gisultihan nila mahitungod kaniya.

³⁰and the mother-in-law of Simon was lying fevered, and immediately they tell him about her,

³¹Ug siya miduol ug mikupot kaniya sa kamot ug nagbangon kaniya; ug dihadiha gihuwasan siya sa hilanat, ug siya nag-alagad kanila.

³¹and having come near, he raised her up, having laid hold of her hand, and the fever left her immediately, and she was ministering to them.

³²Ug sa pagkahapon, sa misalop na ang adlaw, ilang gidala kaniya ang tanang mga masakiton ug ang mga hingyawaan.

³²And evening having come, when the sun did set, they brought unto him all who were ill, and who were demoniacs,

³³Ug ang tibook nga lungsod didto nanagtigum sa ganghaan.

³³and the whole city was gathered together near the door,

³⁴Ug giayo niya ang daghang mga masakiton sa nagkalainlaing mga sakit ug gihinginlan niya ang daghang mga yawa, ug wala niya tugoti sila sa pagsulti, kay sila nakaila kaniya.

³⁴and he healed many who were ill of manifold diseases, and many demons he cast forth, and was not suffering the demons to speak, because they knew him.

³⁵Ug sa pagkakaadlawon, sa layo pa ang kabuntagon mibangon siya ug milakaw ug miadto sa usa ka dapit nga mamingaw, ug didto nag-ampo.

³⁵And very early, it being yet night, having risen, he went forth, and went away to a desert place, and was there praying;

³⁶Ug si Simon, ug ang mga kauban niya, mingsunod kaniya.

³⁶and Simon and those with him went in quest of him,

³⁷Ug sa hingkit-an siya, miingon sila kaniya: Ang tanan nagapangita kanimo.

³⁷and having found him, they say to him, — `All do seek thee;`

³⁸Ug siya miingon kanila: Mangadto kita sa mga lungsod nga silingan aron magawali usab ako didto, ay alang niini mianhi ako.

³⁸and he saith to them, `We may go to the next towns, that there also I may preach, for for this I came forth.`

³⁹Ug miadto siya sa ilang mga sinagoga sa tibook nga Galilea, nagawali ug nagahingilin sa mga yawa.

³⁹And he was preaching in their synagogues, in all Galilee, and is casting out the demons,

⁴⁰Ug miduol kaniya ang usa ka sanlahon, nga nagapakilooy kaniya, nagaluhod sa atubangan niya, ug nagaingon kaniya: Kong buot ka, arang mo ako mahinloan.

⁴⁰and there doth come to him a leper, calling on him, and kneeling to him, and saying to him — `If thou mayest will, thou art able to cleanse me.`

⁴¹Ug si Jesus sa giabut ug kalooy mingtuy-od sa iyang kamot ug gihikap siya ug miingon kaniya: Buot ko, mag-mahinlo ka.

⁴¹And Jesus having been moved with compassion, having stretched forth the hand, touched him, and saith to him, `I will; be thou cleansed;`

⁴²Ug dihadiha mipahawa ang sanla gikan kaniya ug nahinlo siya.

⁴²and he having spoken, immediately the leprosy went away from him, and he was cleansed.

⁴³Ug si Jesus nagtugon kaniya sa hugot gayud, ug gilayon gipalakaw siya.

⁴³And having sternly charged him, immediately he put him forth,

⁴⁴Ug nag-ingon kaniya: Magmatngon ka nga dili ka magsugilon bisan unsa kang bisan kinsa, kondili lumakaw ug magpakita ka sa sacerdote, ug maghalad ka tungod sa imong pagkahinlo niadtong mga butang nga gisugo ni Moises, ingon nga usa ka pagpamatuod kanila.

⁴⁴and saith to him, `See thou mayest say nothing to any one, but go away, thyself shew to the priest, and bring near for thy cleansing the things Moses directed, for a testimony to them.`

⁴⁵Apan milakaw siya ug nagsugod sa dakung pagmantala ug pagpabantug sa nahitabo, sa pagkaagi nga wala na mahimo ni Jesus ang pagsulod nga dayag sa lungsod, kondili nagapabilin siya sa gawas, didto sa mga dapit nga mamingaw, ug sila nanagpanuol kaniya gikan sa tanang dapit.

⁴⁵And he, having gone forth, began to proclaim much, and to spread abroad the thing, so that no more he was able openly to enter into the city, but he was without in desert places, and they were coming unto him from every quarter.
