¹Busa, si Festo sa miabut sa lalawigan sa tapus sa tolo ka adlaw, mitungas sa Jerusalem gikan sa Cesarea.

¹Festus therefore, being come into the eparchy, after three days went up to Jerusalem from Caesarea.

²Ug ang pangulong sacerdote ug ang kadagkuang tawo sa mga Judio, nanag-asoy kaniya batok kang Pablo; ug nanagpakilooy kaniya,

²And the chief priests and the chief of the Jews laid informations before him against Paul, and besought him,

³Nga nagapangayo ug usa ka utang kabubut-on batok kaniya, aron ipatawag niya si Pablo ngadto sa Jerusalem, samtang nagahikay sila sa usa ka pagbanhig, aron ilang pagapatyon siya sa dalan.

³asking as a grace against him that he would send for him to Jerusalem, laying people in wait to kill him on the way.

⁴Apan mitubag si Festo nga si Pablo ginabantayan sa Cesarea, ug nga siya gayud usab mopauli didto sa madali.

⁴Festus therefore answered that Paul should be kept at Caesarea, and that he himself was about to set out shortly.

⁵Busa, matud niya, palugsonga uban kanako ang mga may gahum kaninyo, ug kong sad-an kining tawohana, pasumbonga sila batok kaniya.

⁵Let therefore the persons of authority among you, says he, going down too, if there be anything in this man, accuse him.

⁶Ug sa nakapabilin siya uban kanila sa wala molabaw sa walo kun napulo ka adlaw, milugsong siya sa Cesarea; ug sa pagkabuntag milingkod siya sa lingkoranan sa hukmanan, ug nagsugo nga paatubangon si Pablo.

⁶And having remained among them not more than eight or ten days, he went down to Caesarea; and on the next day, having sat down on the judgment-seat, commanded Paul to be brought.

⁷Ug sa pag-abut niya ang mga Judio nga minglugsong gikan sa Jerusalem nanag-alirong kaniya, nga nagadala batok kaniya ug daghan ug dagkung mga pasangil nga wala nila kapamatud-i;

⁷And when he was come, the Jews who were come down from Jerusalem stood round, bringing many and grievous charges which they were not able to prove:

⁸Samtang si Pablo sa iyang paglaban, miingon: Wala gayud ako makasala batok sa Kasugoan sa mga Judio, bisan batok sa templo, bisan batok kang Cesar.

⁸Paul answering for himself, Neither against the law of the Jews, nor against the temple, nor against Caesar, have I offended [in] anything.

⁹Apan si Festo, nga buot magpahamuot sa mga Judio, mitubag kang Pablo, ug miingon: Buot ka ba motungas sa Jerusalem, ug didto pagahukman ka mahitungod niining mga butanga sa atubangan ko?

⁹But Festus, desirous of obliging the Jews, to acquire their favour, answering Paul, said, Art thou willing to go up to Jerusalem, there to be judged before me concerning these things?

¹⁰Apan si Pablo miingon: Ania ako nagatindog sa atubangan sa lingkoranan sa hukmanan ni Cesar, diin angay ako pagahukman. Sa mga Judio wala akoy nabuhat bisan unsang dautan, ingon nga ikaw usab nasayud gayud kaayo.

¹⁰But Paul said, I am standing before the judgment-seat of Caesar, where I ought to be judged. To the Jews have I done no wrong, as *thou* also very well knowest.

¹¹Busa, kong ako magbubuhat sa dautan, ug nakabuhat bisan unsa nga takus sa kamatayon, dili ako molalis sa pagpakamatay; apan, kong walay matuod niadtong mga butang nga ginasumbong nila batok kanako, walay bisan kinsa nga makatugyan kanako ngadto kanila. Modangup ako kang Cesar.

¹¹If then I have done any wrong and committed anything worthy of death, I do not deprecate dying; but if there is nothing of those things of which they accuse me, no man can give me up to them. I appeal to Caesar.

¹²Unya si Festo, sa human ikasabut niya ang Sanhedrin, mitubag: midangup ka kang Cesar, umadto ka kang Cesar.

¹²Then Festus, having conferred with the council, answered, Thou hast appealed to Caesar. To Caesar shalt thou go.

¹³Karon sa pag-agi sa pipila ka adlaw, si Agripa nga hari ug si Bernice ming-abut sa Cesarea sa pag-abi-abi kang Festo.

¹³And when certain days had elapsed, Agrippa the king and Bernice arrived at Caesarea to salute Festus.

¹⁴Ug sa nakapabilin sila didto sa daghang mga adlaw, giasoy ni Festo sa hari ang asunto ni Pablo, nga nagaingon: May usa ka tawo nga gipasagdan nga binilanggo ni Felix;

¹⁴And when they had spent many days there, Festus laid before the king the matters relating to Paul, saying, There is a certain man left prisoner by Felix,

¹⁵Nga mahatungod kaniya, sa didto ako sa Jerusalem, nanag-asoy kanako ang mga pangulong sacerdote ug ang mga anciano sa mga Judio, nga nangayo kanako sa hukom batok kaniya.

¹⁵concerning whom, when I was at Jerusalem, the chief priests and the elders of the Jews laid informations, requiring judgment against him:

¹⁶Kanila mitubag ako, nga dili batasan sa mga Romanhon ang pagtugyan sa kamatayon sa bisan kinsang tawo, sa wala pa ang sinumbong ikapaatubang sa mga magsusumbong, ug mahatagi sa higayon sa iyang paglaban sa sumbong batok kaniya.

¹⁶to whom I answered, It is not [the] custom of the Romans to give up any man before that the accused have the accusers face to face, and he have got opportunity of defence touching the charge.

¹⁷Busa, sa panag-abut nila dinhi sa tingub, wala ako maglangan, apan sa adlaw nga misunod milingkod ako sa lingkoranan sa hukmanan, ug nagsugo nga paatubangon dinhi ang tawo.

¹⁷When therefore they had come together here, without putting it off, I sat the next day on the judgment-seat and commanded the man to be brought:

¹⁸Nga mahatungod kaniya, sa nanindog ang mga magsusumbong, wala silay dala nga laing sumbong nga sama sa pagkadautan sa mga butang nga akong ginadahum.

¹⁸concerning whom the accusers, standing up, brought no such accusation of guilt as *I* supposed;

¹⁹Apan may mga pagkalalis sila batok kaniya mahatungod sa ilang kaugalingong tinohoan, ug mahatungod sa usa ka Jesus nga namatay nga gipamatud-an ni Pablo nga kini buhi.

¹⁹but had against him certain questions of their own system of worship, and concerning a certain Jesus who is dead, whom Paul affirmed to be living.

²⁰Ug ako, sanglit nalibug kong unsaon ko pagsusi kining mga butanga, nangutana kong buot ba siya moadto sa Jerusalem, ug didto pagahukman mahatungod niining mga butanga.

²⁰And as I myself was at a loss as to an inquiry into these things, I said, Was he willing to go to Jerusalem and there to be judged concerning these things?

²¹Apan sa pagdangup ni Pablo aron pagbantayan siya alang sa hukom sa Emperador, nagsugo ako nga pagbantayan siya hangtud nga ikapadala ko siya kang Cesar.

²¹But Paul having appealed to be kept for the cognisance of Augustus, I commanded him to be kept till I shall send him to Caesar.

²²Ug si Agripa miingon kang Festo: Ako usab buot gayud unta magpatalinghug sa tawo. Ug siya miingon: Ugma. mapatalinghugan mo siya.

²²And Agrippa [said] to Festus, I myself also would desire to hear the man. To-morrow, said he, thou shalt hear him.

²³Busa, sa adlaw nga misunod sa miabut si Agripa ug si Bernice, sa dakung pasundayag; ug sa nakasulod sila sa dapit nga husayanan uban ang mga pangulong capitan, ug ang mga kadagkuan sa ciudad; sa sugo ni Festo gipasulod si Pablo.

²³On the morrow therefore, Agrippa being come, and Bernice, with great pomp, and having entered into the hall of audience, with the chiliarchs and the men of distinction of the city, and Festus having given command, Paul was brought.

²⁴Ug miingon si Festo: Hari nga Agripa, ug kamong tanan nga ania dinhi uban kanamo, nagatan-aw kamo niining tawohana, nga tungod kaniya ang tibook nga panon sa mga Judio midangup kanako sa Jerusalem, ug dinhi usab nagasinggit nga dili siya angay nga mabuhi pa.

²⁴And Festus said, King Agrippa, and all men who are here present with us, ye see this person, concerning whom all the multitude of the Jews applied to me both in Jerusalem and here, crying out against [him] that he ought not to live any longer.

²⁵Apan hipalgan ko nga siya walay nabuhat nga bisan unsa nga takus sa kamatayon; ug tungod kay siya midangup ngadto sa Emperador, ako naghukom sa pagpadala kaniya.

²⁵But I, having found that he had done nothing worthy of death, and this [man] himself having appealed to Augustus, I have decided to send him;

²⁶Tungod kaniya ako walay bisan unsa nga ikasulat sa akong ginoo. Tungod niana gipaatubang ko siya kaninyo, ug labi na gayud kanimo, hari nga Agripa, aron nga sa tapus masusi, ako adunay ikasulat.

²⁶concerning whom I have nothing certain to write to my lord. Wherefore I have brought him before you, and specially before thee, king Agrippa, so that an examination having been gone into I may have something to write:

²⁷Kay sa hunahuna ko, dili makatarunganon ang pagpadala sa usa ka binilanggo, nga dili usab hisgutan ang mga sumbong batok kaniya.

²⁷for it seems to me senseless, sending a prisoner, not also to signify the charges against him.
