¹Ug ang tibook nga katilingban sa mga anak sa Israel mingpanaw gikan sa kamingawan sa Sin sa ilang mga pagpanaw, sumala sa sugo ni Jehova, ug gipahamutang nila ang ilang campo sa Repidim: ug didto walay tubig aron makainum ang katawohan.

¹And all the assembly of the children of Israel journeyed from the wilderness of Sin, according to their journeys, at the command of Jehovah; and they encamped in Rephidim; and there was no water for the people to drink.

²Ug nakiglantugi ang katawohan kang Moises, ug nanag-ingon sila: Hatagi kami ug tubig aron makainum kami. Ug si Moises miingon kanila: Ngano ba nga nakiglantugi man kamo kanako? Ngano ba nga gisulayan ninyo si Jehova?

²And the people contended with Moses, and said, Give us water, that we may drink! And Moses said to them, Why do ye dispute with me? Why do ye tempt Jehovah?

³Ug ang katawohan giuhaw sa tubig; ug ang katawohan nagbagulbol batok kang Moises, ug miingon: Gidala mo diay kami gikan sa Egipto, aron pagpatyon sa kauhaw, kami ug ang among mga anak ug ang among kahayupan?

³And the people thirsted there for water; and the people murmured against Moses, and said, Why is it that thou hast brought us up out of Egypt, to kill us and our children and our cattle with thirst?

⁴Unya mitu-aw si Moises kang Jehova nga nagaingon: Unsa ba ang pagabuhaton ko niini nga katawohan? Daw andam na sila sa pagbato kanako.

⁴And Moses cried to Jehovah, saying, What shall I do with this people? Yet a little, and they will stone me!

⁵Ug si Jehova miingon kang Moises: Lumabay ka sa atubangan sa katawohan, ug dad-a uban kanimo ang mga anciano sa Israel, ug ang imong sungkod nga imong gilambos sa suba, kupti kini sa imong kamot ug lumakaw ka:

⁵And Jehovah said to Moses, Go on before the people, and take with thee of the elders of Israel, and thy staff with which thou didst smite the river, take in thy hand, and go.

⁶Ania karon, ako magatindog sa atubangan mo didto sa ibabaw sa bato sa Horeb; ug tugsokon mo ang bato, ug gikan niini motubod ang tubig, aron makainum ang katawohan. Ug mao kini ang gibuhat ni Moises sa atubangan sa mga anciano sa Israel.

⁶Behold, I will stand before thee there upon the rock on Horeb; and thou shalt strike the rock, and there shall come water out of it, that the people may drink. And Moses did so before the eyes of the elders of Israel.

⁷Ug gihinganlan niya ang ngalan niadtong dapita Masa ug /Meriba tungod sa pagpakiglalis sa mga anak sa Israel, ug kay gisulayan nila si Jehova nga nagaingon: Ania ba si Jehova sa taliwala kanato kun wala ba?

⁷And he called the name of the place Massah, and Meribah, because of the contention of the children of Israel, and because they had tempted Jehovah, saying, Is Jehovah among us, or not?

⁸Ug mianha si Amalek ug nakig-away sa Israel didto sa Repidim.

⁸And Amalek came and fought with Israel in Rephidim.

⁹Ug miingon si Moises kang Josue: Pagpili gikan kanato ug mga tawo ug gumula ka, magpakig-away ka kang Amalek; ugma motindog ako sa tumoy sa bungtod, ug ang sungkod sa Dios ania sa akong kamot.

⁹And Moses said to Joshua, Choose us men, and go out, fight with Amalek; to-morrow I will stand on the top of the hill with the staff of God in my hand.

¹⁰Ug gibuhat ni Josue sumala sa giingon kaniya ni Moises, ug nakig-away kang Amalek; ug si Moises ug si Aaron ug si Hur nanungas sa tumoy sa bungtod.

¹⁰And Joshua did as Moses had said to him, to fight with Amalek; and Moses, Aaron and Hur went up to the top of the hill.

¹¹Ug nahatabo, nga sa gibayaw ni Moises ang iyang kamot, midaug ang Israel; apan sa gipaubos niya ang iyang kamot, midaug si Amalek.

¹¹And it came to pass when Moses raised his hand, that Israel prevailed; and when he let down his hand, Amalek prevailed.

¹²Apan ang mga kamot ni Moises nagmabug-at; ug mikuha sila ug usa ka bato, ug gibutang kini sa ilalum niya, ug milingkod siya sa ibabaw niini: ug gisangga ni Aaron ug ni Hur ang iyang mga kamot, ang usa sa usa ka luyo, ug ang usa didto sa pikas: ug ang iyang mga kamot milig-on hangtud nga misalop ang adlaw.

¹²And Moses' hands were heavy; then they took a stone, and put [it] under him, and he sat on it; and Aaron and Hur supported his hands, one on this side, and one on that side; and his hands were steady until the going down of the sun.

¹³Ug gilaglag ni Josue si Amalek ug ang iyang katawohan sa sulab sa pinuti.

¹³And Joshua broke the power of Amalek and his people with the edge of the sword.

¹⁴Ug si Jehova miingon kang Moises: Isulat kini nga usa ka handumanan diha sa usa ka basahon, ug sublion mo sa pagsaysay sa mga igdulungog ni Josue nga panason ko gayud ang handumanan ni Amalek sa ilalum sa langit.

¹⁴And Jehovah said to Moses, Write this [for] a memorial in the book, and rehearse [it] in the ears of Joshua, that I will utterly blot out the remembrance of Amalek from under the heavens.

¹⁵Ug si Moises nagpatindog ug usa ka halaran, ug iyang ginganlan kini Jehova-nissi:

¹⁵And Moses built an altar, and called the name of it Jehovah-nissi.

¹⁶Ug miingon siya: Si Jehova nanumpa, si Jehova adunay pagpakig-away kang Amalek gikan sa kaliwatan ngadto sa kaliwatan.

¹⁶And he said, For the hand is on the throne of Jah; Jehovah will have war with Amalek from generation to generation!
