¹Sa ikatolo ka bulan human ang mga anak sa Israel makagula gikan sa yuta sa Egipto, niadtong maong adlaw mingdangat sila sa kamingawan sa Sinai.

¹In the third month after the departure of the children of Israel out of the land of Egypt, the same day came they [into] the wilderness of Sinai:

²Ug sa nakalakaw sila gikan sa Repidim, ug miabut sila sa kamingawan sa Sinai, mingpahamutang sila sa kamingawan; ug didto ang Israel mingpahaluna sa atubangan sa bukid.

²they departed from Rephidim, and came [into] the wilderness of Sinai, and encamped in the wilderness; and Israel encamped there before the mountain.

³Ug si Moises mitungas ngadto sa Dios, ug si Jehova nagtawag kaniya gikan sa bukid, nga nagaingon: Sa ingon niini ikaw magapamulong sa panimalay ni Jacob, ug sultihi ang mga anak sa Israel:

³And Moses went up to God, and Jehovah called to him out of the mountain, saying, Thus shalt thou say to the house of Jacob, and tell the children of Israel:

⁴Kamo nanagpakakita sa gibuhat ko sa mga Egiptohanon, ug giunsa ko pagdala kamo sa ibabaw sa mga pako sa mga agila, ug gidala ko kamo nganhi kanako.

⁴Ye have seen what I have done to the Egyptians, and [how] I have borne you on eagles' wings and brought you to myself.

⁵Busa karon, kong kamo magapatalinghug gayud sa akong tingog, ug magabantay kamo sa akong tugon, nan kamo mamahimo nga akong kaugalingon nga bahandi gikan sa kinataliwad-an sa tanang mga katawohan: kay ang tibook nga yuta, ako man:

⁵And now, if ye will hearken to my voice indeed and keep my covenant, then shall ye be my own possession out of all the peoples -- for all the earth is mine --

⁶Ug alang kanako kamo mahimo nga usa ka gingharian sa mga sacerdote, ug usa ka balaan nga nasud. Kini mao ang mga pulong nga igapamulong mo sa mga anak sa Israel.

⁶and ye shall be to me a kingdom of priests, and a holy nation. These are the words which thou shalt speak to the children of Israel.

⁷Ug milugsong si Moises ug gipatawag niya ang mga anciano sa katawohan ug gipahayag niya sa atubangan nila kining tanan nga mga pulong nga gisugo kaniya ni Jehova.

⁷And Moses came and called the elders of the people, and laid before the mall these words which Jehovah had commanded him.

⁸Ug ang tanan nga katawohan nanagdungan sa pagtubag, ug miingon: Ang tanan nga giingon ni Jehova among pagabuhaton. Ug si Moises nagsugilon sa mga pulong sa katawohan ngadto kang Jehova.

⁸And all the people answered together, and said, All that Jehovah has spoken will we do! And Moses brought the words of the people back to Jehovah.

⁹Ug si Jehova miingon kang Moises: Ania karon, ako mianhi kanimo sa usa ka mabagang panganod, aron ang katawohan makadungog sa diha nga magasulti ako kanimo, ug motoo usab kanimo sa kanunay. Ug gisugilon ni Moises ang mga pulong sa katawohan ngadto kang Jehova.

⁹And Jehovah said to Moses, Lo, I will come to thee in the cloud's thick darkness, that the people may hear when I speak with thee, and believe thee also for ever. And Moses told the words of the people to Jehovah.

¹⁰Ug si Jehova miingon kang Moises: Umadto ka sa katawohan ug pagbalaanon mo sila karon ug ugma, ug palabhan mo kanila ang mga bisti nila,

¹⁰And Jehovah said to Moses, Go to the people, and hallow them to-day and to-morrow, and let them wash their clothes;

¹¹Ug paandama sila alang sa ikatolo ka adlaw; kay sa ikatolo ka adlaw mokunsad si Jehova nga makita sa tanan nga katawohan sa ibabaw sa bukid sa Sinai.

¹¹and let them be ready for the third day; for on the third day Jehovah will come down before the eyes of all the people on mount Sinai.

¹²Ug palibutan mo ug utlanan ang katawohan, sa pag-ingon: Magmatngon kamo sa inyong kaugalingon, nga dili kamo magtungas sa bukid, ni maghikap kamo sa utlanan niini; bisan kinsa nga maghikap sa bukid, pagapatyon gayud.

¹²And set bounds round about the people, saying, Take heed to yourselves, [not] to go up unto the mountain nor touch the border of it: whatever toucheth the mountain shall certainly be put to death:

¹³Walay kamot nga magahikap niini, kay pagabatoon siya kun pagapanaon siya; bisan mananap kun tawo, dili siya pagabuhion. Kong ang budyong patunggon sa hataas gayud, managpanungas sila sa bukid.

¹³not a hand shall touch it, but it shall certainly be stoned, or shot through; whether it be a beast or a man, it shall not live. When the long drawn note of the trumpet soundeth, they shall come up to the mountain.

¹⁴Ug milugsong si Moises gikan sa bukid padulong sa katawohan, ug gibalaan niya ang katawohan; ug gipanlabhan nila ang ilang mga bisti.

¹⁴And Moses came down from the mountain to the people, and hallowed the people; and they washed their clothes.

¹⁵Ug miingon siya sa katawohan: Panag-andam kamo alang sa ikatolo ka adlaw dili kamo managpanuol sa usa ka babaye.

¹⁵And he said to the people, Be ready for the third day; do not come near [your] wives.

¹⁶Ug nahatabo nga sa ikatolo ka adlaw, sa pagkabuntag, nga may mga dalogdog ug mga kilat, ug ang mabagang panganod diha sa ibabaw sa bukid, ug ang tingog sa budyong nga hilabihan kakusog; ug mikurog ang tanan nga katawohan nga diha sa campo.

¹⁶And it came to pass on the third day, when it was morning, that there were thunders and lightnings and a heavy cloud on the mountain, and the sound of the trumpet exceeding loud; and the whole people that was in the camp trembled.

¹⁷Ug gidala ni Moises ang katawohan gikan sa campo sa pagsugat sa Dios; ug nanindog sila sa ubos sa bukid.

¹⁷And Moses brought the people out of the camp to meet with God; and they stood at the foot of the mountain.

¹⁸Ug ang tibook nga bukid sa Sinai miaso, kay si Jehova mikunsad sa ibabaw niini sa kalayo: ug ang aso niini nagautbo ingon sa aso sa usa ka hudno, ug ang tibook nga bukid nauyog sa hilabihan gayud.

¹⁸And the whole of mount Sinai smoked, because Jehovah descended on it in fire; and its smoke ascended as the smoke of a furnace; and the whole mountain shook greatly.

¹⁹Ug sa nagaanam ug kakusog ang tingog sa budyong, si Moises misulti, ug ang Dios mitubag kaniya sa usa ka tingog.

¹⁹And the sound of the trumpet increased and became exceeding loud; Moses spoke, and God answered him by a voice.

²⁰Ug si Jehova mikunsad sa ibabaw sa bukid sa Sinai, sa ibabaw sa kinatumyan sa bukid: ug si Jehova nagtawag kang Moises ngadto sa kinatumyan sa bukid; ug si Moises mitungas.

²⁰And Jehovah came down on mount Sinai, on the top of the mountain; and Jehovah called Moses to the top of the mountain, and Moses went up.

²¹Ug si Jehova miingon kang Moises: Lumugsong ka ug sugoon mo ang katawohan tingali unya molabang sila sa utlanan sa pagtutok kang Jehova, ug mangamatay ang daghanan kanila.

²¹And Jehovah said to Moses, Go down, testify to the people that they break not through to Jehovah to gaze, and many of them perish.

²²Ug ang mga sacerdote usab nga magaduol kang Jehova, managbalaan sila sa ilang kaugalingon, tingali hinoon si Jehova modasmag kanila.

²²And the priests also, who come near to Jehovah, shall hallow themselves, lest Jehovah break forth on them.

²³Ug si Moises miingon kang Jehova: Ang katawohan dili arang makatungas sa bukid sa Sinai, kay ikaw nagsugo kanamo nga nagaingon: Magbutang ka ug mga utlanan libut sa bukid, ug magbalaan ka niini.

²³And Moses said to Jehovah, The people cannot come up to mount Sinai; for thou hast testified to us, saying, Set bounds about the mountain, and hallow it.

²⁴Ug si Jehova miingon kaniya: Lumakaw ka, lumugsong ka, ug tumungas ka ug si Aaron uban kanimo: apan ayaw pagtugoti ang mga sacerdote ug ang katawohan sa paglapas sa utlanan sa pagtungas kang Jehova, tingali unya siya modasmag kanila.

²⁴And Jehovah said to him, Go, descend, and thou shalt come up, thou, and Aaron with thee; but the priests and the people shall not break through to go up to Jehovah, lest he break forth on them.

²⁵Busa si Moises milugsong ngadto sa katawohan ug misulti kanila.

²⁵So Moses went down to the people, and told them.
